msmoon: (Kitty - Coffee)

OK, so, my plan worked. I expected today would be no more than a grueling hell pit.... but it wasn't that bad. But when you gear yourself up to expect the absolute worst, you're always surprised by how things aren't so bad. So it worked.

That said, today wasn't that bad. It wasn't good, and I don't look forward to repeating it ever again, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday. But then... yesterday we were expecting a lot out of this place, and were unpleasantly surprised with how terrible it was. Today, all we did was hang about in mingle. There were a few interruptions to our own distractions (jumping rope, jaunts around the place, family photos and hoola-hooping, which reminded me of Scamp), but over all, it was just folks talking and having fun with each other.... them as could that is. My Uncle Buddy is known for being a stick in the mud, and he did not disappoint at this gathering either. But he had a bunk... so he confined himself there and left the rest of us to enjoy ourselves.

Scamp ended up not coming... and then having no reason not to come, which was a bummer. She had to stay home and watch her niece, Tiffany's daughter, who was still feeling ill, because Tiffany would be working. Well, after my Uncle Steve and Aunt Jane left and got here, Tiffany returned home from work saying that she was feeling sick... so she could have come if she would've known -..- But anyway. I had brought Scamp's Birthday+Christmas gift to give to her, and she had given my Birthday+Christmas present to Aunt Lane in case she couldn't make it. So, I gave her present to Uncle Steve. Anyway! Her gift to me is this cool owl with it's wings outstretched, and there are key hooks on the feathers for keys :D It's so cool. Immediately, I started thinking of alternate ways to use it.... like, instead of using it as a key rack, I could put it at the top of my office window and hanging sun-catchers from it instead :D That'd be cool. Still...maybe it'd be better if I just used it as what it was made for .... still :)

The Family photo session was a chaotic mess, but a fun chaotic mess. There were times when I wondered why we had thought we could accomplish such a gargantuan task... but, in the end I think we pulled it off as best we could :)

I hung about with various people, but I think I had the most fun with my cousins Angel and Pat. They're just fun chicks to be around. Not that I didn't enjoy any of my other Aunts/Uncles or Cousins, those are just the ones that stick out (just like always).
Now that I've had a shower, I do feel a bit better. I still can't wait to leave...but at least it hasn't all been terrible.

Oh well. I guess I have nothing else to really say. From here we go to Aunt Batty's (hallelujah), where there will be internet connection (Hallelujah!). I'm very much looking forward to seeing Houma again. I really can't wait. Sure, I won't be in my bed or taking a shower in my shower, but the facilities are much more accommodating than these.

I think I hear Mom and Bernadine getting out of the bathroom. I'm gonna go ahead and go blow-dry my hair. I really can't afford to leave it wet right now -..- Goodnight, Sunshines.

msmoon: (BC - You gotta be kidding)

Oh, so much to bitch about and no signal... darn. Good thing I can type up stuff and vent, and then post it to LJ later. Otherwise, I'd have no outlet... Well, it's Friday night, and we've survived the first official day of the family reunion. I'm feeling better today than I was yesterday - heck, I'm feeling better tonight than I was this morning (even if I can't help thinking 'I can't wait till Sunday' over and over and over).

We finally got the kitchen around 1, and all the ladies went in and unpacked as much as they needed and began cooking. Mom knew that I was feeling bad, so she told me to find our cabins and unpack our clothes and such. She gave my cousin Patricia the key to unlock the bunkhouse and all the cabins, and I agreed to follow her and just plah-kay myself down in whichever one of the cabins I choose. So, Pat, Jerry (Bernadine's youngest) and I dissembarked. I was in my little car (which reeked of rotten watermelon) and Pat and Jerry were in Pat's big diesel truck. They lead and I followed through the twisting labyrinth that is Chicot State Park. Finally we came upon Cabins 1-5. So, we parked on the side of the road and went over to cabin 1 to try and unlock it. It wouldn't unlock. We tried again. Still, no go. We went over to cabin 2 and faced the same thing.

So...we left my car parked where it was and went back to the front office. Pat explained our problem and then returned to the truck laughing. Turns out, there are 5 cabins behind the kitchen (where we were originally)...... so, we went and got my car, and then went back to the group area. We trekked back to the 'cabins'. It was pathetic. They were little rooms, each with six bunk beds and an AC. That was it. There was a separate building that had mens and womens shower stalls and toilets (two of each). We were told that all these facilities were self contained (meaning furnished with everything you would need)... they aren't. The beds are almost entirely bare. The kitchen, though full of pots and pans, had no seasonings, plates, forks, knives, spoons or glasses. When we told Mom, she was so disappointed and frustrated, she looked like she might cry. I know for a fact that she wanted to. We tried to make light of it, and assure her that we could handle it anyway, but she was still upset by it. Still, they were busy making the gumbo and potato salad for that night, so she had something to occupy herself with... otherwise, she would've thought about it too much and been more upset. You know how that is.

Technically, we got this place at a great deal. It isn't cheap by any means, but it's cheap in comparison for what we want. But still, the pictures of the cabins online are the pictures of plush places, with sofas and beds and flat screen TVs. Not wall-to-wall bunk beds and communal bathrooms. Mom's worked hard to pull this together, and it's upsetting to see so little be supplied considering how much she's put into it.

Most easily put, I hate this place. I'm still sick, though not feverish, so at least that isn't a worry. But still. I'm the type of person that likes my own space. Bunk beds are confining. And the fact that I can't have privacy in a shower... That's just my own private hell. If I were perfectly healthy, I would hate this place.

We've managed to borrow sleeping bags from those that came more prepared. Still. It just isn't what we'd thought it'd be.

Oh well. I'm absolutely exhausted, and it's terribly freezing in here. Goodnight, Sunshines =..=

LoudTwitter is down. Evidently there was a server crash. I swear, I have not dropped off the face of the earth, it's just that the service I use to batch my tweets isn't working :) I thought I'd let everyone know.

Yesterday was church... and it was fun. Not because of the sermon, but because the boys showed up with their mother. This meant Alicia and I had the chance to teach as opposed to attend the Bible study. I enjoy that very much. The boys are very enjoyable and funny, thought it's very hard to keep them reigned in if only because they're so funny you don't want to stop them ^..^

We really didn't give a lesson... but! We developed a reward based system, assigning points to each person for good behavior... and taking points away for bad. After 25 points they may start claiming their rewards... and 25 points can get you 5 candy bars (of your choosing). If you choose not to redeem your points, then you can save it up for a bigger prize. We discussed gift certificates to restaurants and the big prize of 100 points earns you a $50 Wal-Mart gift card :D The gift cards were my idea... so were the candy bars now that I think about it >..> hm...Well, Alicia asked what they would work for... and they said cars and guitars -..- Yeah... nothing we could actually afford. So, I threw in candy (food's always a great reward system right?) and gift certificates... Of course... we do have to get it approved by Pastor Sam first... so... I did make up a chart with their "Names" on them.... ok, that needs explaining.

So... when Alicia mentioned the points system, and Julian said, "What does that remind you of?" to which I replied, "20 points from Gryffindor!" ^..^ They immediately picked up on it and started taken Hogwart's House names... or... something like them. Julian called Gryffindor, Jesse called Slytherin, and Billy ... decided on Ravenpuff O..o yeah I know. They got off on a tangent about combining the names to see what they might just wind up with ... and that's how Billy got his -..-' Of course, T and Lamarr weren't really there... so we gave them substitute names. T (for now) will be Tink and Lamarr with be Autobot :) We'll have to ask them what they think... whenever we next see them.

We're also talking about planning an outing to Branson... the idea is to go and get something to eat and walk the landing and then go see a movie (preferably Transformers 2 as everyone wants to see that). She had mentioned the IMax, but it won't be playing there on the 11th, which is when we wanted to go. The boys will be starting up their Football training camp, and thus they will die a bit every day of the week.... we were hoping for weekend since it'd be more fun and relaxing :) So... you know... maybe we'll have to find another theater. Shouldn't be hard in Branson.

Hmm... what else. Well, I finally got around to getting those art prints framed... all of them (so far). Scamp still owes me two Map paintings, but the Ancients Kth did for me are all framed properly and the map Scamp gave me is framed... I bought 4 matching frames for the Ancients and then 3 other frames from the maps... yes, I only have 1 of the 3, but this Wal-Mart is more of a “Get it while you can, otherwise it may be gone” sort of deal... Even if they aren’t up on the wall yet, I am proud of myself :D

Oh, we went to Sam and Karen's house for the first time since they left on their trip. We were going to go out on some lake, but... well, things didn't work out. So, we ended up just coming home. Not before visiting with Julie and Marsha of course... But, I finished my laundry (thank God). Oh! And tomorrow, Mom and I are going to Branson to shop :3 Yays. Dad said he didn't want to come and get in our way... so that means sushi :D Happy psycho bunny.

Well... I'd better be off. I still haven't showered, slothful boar that I am. I hope LoudTwitter comes back up soon... not that it hasn't been fun posting again....Oh well. I'll talk later, Sunshines :)

Holy Cow. So, we won't be doing another lock-in for a very... very.... VERY long time =..= If only to give ourselves time to forget how grueling it can be. Alicia and I were the only ones who didn't sleep at all. The others stayed up a lot, but each one of them did end up falling asleep, even if it was for a brief period of time. Billy swears he wasn't sleeping, he was on stand-by :) But I'm getting ahead of myself. OK! Let's see.

I got to the church around 4. Alicia had stressed about everything, and thus, showed up mega early to make sure everything was set up. So, I got there and unloaded all the snacks and drinks and such, and then Alicia wen to pick up Takara and Lamarr and their cousin. Well, not too long after she left, the Tyree brothers showed up with their friend Buddy. Billy, Jesse and Julian I knew, but I'd never met Buddy before. He's energetic, and rambunctious, and loud... and after a while, he's really annoying -..- But, they were hanging out and talking and then a few minutes later, Takara and Lamarr show up with their cousin. Their parents had dropped them off o..o' So I texted Alicia to let her know that they were here... and she came back. I should say, Takara's cousin was Timmy, which was confusing because Alicia told me it was a girl named Penny =..= So, essentially, the only girl was Takara.

The boys started playing PS3, and I mean really playing. They played Rock Band first (until the pizza arrived). My parents had shown up then, but I told them they didn't have to stay if they didn't want to, because Dad had only gotten home that morning at 9 and he had been driving for about 2 days =..= So, they left as soon as we were all fed. They reminded me that they were only a phone call away, so that was nice.

The boys hopped back onto the PS3, and Takara jumped on Alicia's computer and played games there. Alicia had brought a game called Dance Dance Dance... which is a Vegie Tales version of Dance Dance Revolution, but it didn't work. The game would run just fine, but the pads that you're supposed to dance on would not. So... that was shot. For a long time, the boys just took turns playing fighting games like Soul Caliber, Call of Duty and...other such games O..o' I lost count of all the games they were playing. At one point, the older boys (the Tyrees and Buddy) got really bored, and they noticed it was raining outside, so they tried to force random members of their own group outside in the rain. I would then stand by the door and say "Oh! He's running around to the other door!" and when they'd race over to the other door to intercept, I'd open the back door and let the guy in -..- guys. After that, they discovered a ping-pong set and used the entire fellowship hall to just smack the ping-pong balls back and forth to each other. Was amusing, if only because they kept trying to keep more than one ball in circulation. ... it wasn't so amusing when they just started throwing the balls at each other -..- again, guys. It's all funny now, but at the time it all just seemed kinda annoying.

Everyone was getting kinda bored with the games. I had forgotten my iPod at my house, so I said I was going to run over and get it. T (Takara) was bored and annoyed with the boys, so I asked her if she wanted to come along for the ride, and she jumped at the chance. She looked around the house, and I showed her the library... and she ended up borrowing Breaking Dawn from me o..o I suppose it's only fair, since I brought that Ultimate Guide to Transformers for Lamarr. So, she got that book and I got Calliope (my iPod) and then we headed back. During our absence, Alicia conducted a small devotional about acceptance (whatevs), and then it was decided that we'd stop playing the games and head upstairs to watch the movies.

We actually put the movies on around 9ish... we struggled with trying to get the sound to work. See, the movies were played in the Sanctuary. We have a projector hooked up to a laptop in there, and so we just put the movies on the laptop and projected them onto the screen.... but the laptop isn't hooked up to the sound booth, so we had to hook speakers onto the laptop and then put a mic between those speakers.... but we couldn't put the mic too close to the speakers, because it would feed back terribly -..- It really didn't help that Buddy would not shut up. He talked almost all the way through Prince Caspian. At one point I told Alicia to just put subtitles up because that would be the only way anyone would be able to know what was being said ... of course, then he started reading the subtitles outloud -..-

After that, there was a 30 minute break in which everyone went to the bathroom and got something to drink (energy drinks) and snacked a bit. We didn't allow them to bring food or drinks into the sanctuary, so of course they had to wait to snack (of course, they probably snuck stuff in >..>). After the break, we started Iron Man which was awesome, as always. I'm fairly certain that T fell asleep during that, and she had borrowed my iPod. She turned it off when she felt herself slipping and just passed out.

We were all pretty tired after that... so, once again, there was about a 30 minute break. Alicia asked me to play some loud music that would wake us all up, and she'd turn the speakers on in the fellowship hall where the food was so that everyone would hear it. So, I played a lot of Thousand Foot Krutch (one of my favorite bands), and that was really energizing. Then Alicia came up and asked if it'd be a good idea to play Mortal Kombat as opposed to The Dark Knight or Hellboy 2, because both of those movies are really long (meaning we'd all probably have a better chance of falling asleep in there) as opposed to MK and MK:A which is maybe an hour and a half at best each. So, we decided on Mortal Kombat, and as a way to signal that we'd soon me starting that movie, I put the Mortal Kombat: Annihilation soundtrack on :D

Jesse and Buddy came running up the stairs and started dancing around, and they were very closely followed by Billy and Julian. It was hilarious to watch them dancing around, because they weren't really trying to dance .... it was more of a ' jump forward while punching straight up in the air' dance.... so it covered a lot of ground and looked very funny.

Anyway, we started the first movie and continued with our '30 minute break in between' routine before starting Mortal Kombat Annihilation. During the break there, I was just sitting in the sanctuary reading... and I hear the floor start to squeak (which means someone has entered the sanctuary) and I look behind me and Jesse and Julian are sneaking around, ducking behind furniture and making their own dramatic spy theme music. There was a part where Julian ran by on all fours and then ducked and rolled behind a pue... I thought I'd die laughing. But the point was that at some point, Jesse had brought up a can of Mountain Dew, and they were trying to sneak it back out... I was so amused by their antics I couldn't be angry at them for breaking the no food/drink rule =..= I'm a bad disciplinarian. But, after that we put the MK:A movie on....I think Alicia had tried to sleep a little, because she had intended to start cooking breakfast around 8, but wanted to sleep some first. She didn't really manage it, so she just decided to go downstairs and cook breakfast right then so that it'd be done whenever the movie was over.

She and I were the only ones that didn't sleep at all.... the older boys were all awake by the end, but they had napped a bit during the movie. And Takara and Lamarr were OUT. Dead to the world and all. So, while I was hooking up my iPod to the sound system to play some stirring music, Buddy ran downstairs, got some of my fingernail polish (I'd brought it for Takara, in case she wanted a manicure or something) ran back upstairs and painted some of Lamarr's toes =..= Was funny when Lamarr woke up, but at the time I just kept wondering why Buddy was running around laughing like a maniac >..>

Alicia cooked breakfast and we all headed down to eat. She had made boy-scout breakfast, which is a pound of potatoes, a dozen eggs, a pound of bacon and a pound of cheese all stirred together in one skillet. She also made biscuits, which I thought were awesome :) The kids settled in the youth's Sunday School room to talk and eat together... but afterwards, when we asked them whether they wanted to watch Hellboy 2 or The Dark Knight, they couldn't make up their minds. So, Alicia and I decided to start the clean up process and we made them stay there and play the quiet game.

I put Harvey on in the Sanctuary upstairs after I made sure that everything was picked up off the floor and then went downstairs to see what needed to be done. I have to say...The kids did stay there and they were fairly quiet (the game was that if anyone made a noise, the entire room could smack them on the rear... that was Alicia's idea =..=), and I washed all the dishes (by hand, because a lot of them really needed it and Alicia still hadn't unloaded the dishwasher) and Alicia swept. She got the kids to help her arrange the tables in the middle of the fellowship hall, and then they all went up to the sanctuary to get their stuff... somewhere along the way, Alicia told them that Harvey was up there cleaning and not to get in his way... so they all got their stuff, but then they just sat there and watched Harvey bump into things o..o it was really funny to see them so enthralled by my vacuum :D I realized that everyone yells at the roomba too, because they kept yelling, "Harvey! Come back here! You missed a spot!"

Anyway, I finished up the dishes and cleared off all the counters, putting trash in the trash can and putting food where it was supposed to go. Then I wiped off the counter tops. After that, I got the old vacuum out off the cabinet and vacuumed the youth room. I went up stairs to watch Harvey, and Alicia made the kids find all the ping-pong balls and put the set back in the youth room where it belonged. After we checked everything, we turned off the lights and air and then locked up and it was all over.

I know I headed home and showered... I do not remember much of it. But I wasn't feeling good at all... so I took my pills along with half of a muscle relaxer and slept for quite a while. Mom called me for supper, but after I'd eaten and talked with them a bit, I ambled back over to my place. I didn't want to sleep because I was afraid it'd mess up my sleep schedule, but I really wasn't awake enough to do much.

Today I am almost just as exhausted as I was yesterday =..= So, like I said, we're gonna be waiting a long long time before we do this again... if only so we can remember why we shouldn't. I do intend to have another movie night some time in August before school starts... but other than that, we really don't have any definitive plans for the youth at this point. We're just happy to have survived this event :)

I guess that's all... My account for the days of the lock-in are finished and I've nothing more to add :) Later, Sunshines.

So, this weekend has been tiresome and about lessons learned. Even though it had its good spots, I’d pretty much like to take everything that happened, siphon out ¾ of it and never have it happen again. Friday, when I woke up for work, I hurried up and put some clothes in the washer to wash, knowing they’d be done before I left, so I could put them on to dry then. When the load was done, I cleaned out the washed to find my cell phone at the base of my washing machine. If you want a clean cell phone, don’t use the washing machine =..= and don’t stick in into God’s Pocket and then have a bunch of clothes in your arms and lean precariously over the basin while your throwing said clothes in. The phone is pretty much dead, and since all my numbers were on that phone and only a few are imbedded into my memory (Mom’s Cell mostly), I will have to get a new one and reprogram all that into it. Luckily, most of the numbers were doctors’ offices, restaurants and people who never call me…ever. So, I’m trying to just take deep breaths and accept my loss. Luckily, ‘Cole had an extra cell phone on had. She keeps it as a backup, and she most generously offered it to me. Also, lucky, I didn’t damage my sim card...but the phone itself is caput =..=

Saturday was good. Well, as good as it gets I suppose. I cleaned my house (sans doing dishes). And I put on Firefly watching it as Harvey vacuumed the floor. I actually finished the whole series. Reiko called sometime...it was late in the afternoon. She said she was at her parent’s place and she’d come by in an hour or so, if that was alright. Of course it was fine. I took my shower and dried my hair and all. Reiko dropped by and we watched the last bit of Tinman. We talked a bit and clowned around. She said she’d come to church with me the next day, and told me to call her.

Sunday, I called her around 9ish to make sure she was alive. We met up at church later and waited it out. Then...we had wings! We were gonna go to the official wing place, which is the embodiment of awesome, but they were not open. So we settled for WingStop. I got 20 Hawaiian and she got 20 Reg. Hot. And after gorging ourselves and watching Slayers Try, we suited up (I did at least) and jumped in her parent’s swimming pool. They have an above ground swimming pool…salt water, curiously enough, and we frolicked, played and lounged about in it for about 2 hours.

Then around 5ish, my eyes began to strobe. Dark motes were swimming over them and there was an intense pressure in my eyes. That, Ladies and Men-folk, is my body’s way of warning me that a migraine is imminent. I told Reiko goodbye and explained to her parents that it was just one of those things. I drove home, trying to focus as best I could on the road. I took a quick shower, ate some frosted-wheat cereal, and took a pill. Unfortunately, by then the migraine was in full flair, and even the pill I took was little relief at all. I have to say, this is by far one of the worst migraines I’ve had. My eyes hurt so bad, and there was a tremendous throbbing and pressure in my nose and along the back of my skull. I was sensitive to light, sound taste and my stomach was so upset. I had diarrhea too, and for someone who has IBS and bad bowels anyway, they know the difference between loose stool and water flowing through them. It was the latter for me, and there was little comfort or relief to be found. So, I laid up in my bed, where it was dark till around 7ish. I took some extra strength alieve then and it seemed to help a bit (no doubt that combined with the meds I’d taken early was enough to beat it down to slightly bearable).

I know I feel asleep...but I was woken up around 9 to the gentle tune of Sweet Home Alabama. My borrowed cell has that as a ring tone. It was Mom, calling to ask how things were…which was kinda funny….in that, “I’ll look back at this and it’ll be funny”, way... But at the time, it scared me out of my wits. We had a short talk, and she confirmed that Dad would be coming tomorrow some time. He would leave around 8ish, so he’d probably get here sometime around 9 Monday night. Which means, I really need to go to the store and get some tape to wrap his gift =..= I used to have rolls and rolls of tape, and then Mom decided to “borrow” it for the move. I never see tape again.

Anyway...I realized it was 9 and I hadn’t taken my regiment of pills. So I took them, and then passed out. Slept great, too. I could still sleep actually...There’s a lingering effect of drowsiness along with this pressure in my head that increases when I stand up and walk around. Not pleasant, but since I work sitting down, typing, not totally debilitating. Dad will be down around 9 tonight, but other than that, I have no plans tonight. Other than giving him his gift. I hope today goes smoothly and I can actually last the full work day. Those migraines are starting to become more common, and they make it impossible to sit up straight, much less get anything accomplished.

Must be signing off now, before my strained span of consciousness gets taxed again. I’ll talk to ya’ll later (I hope). Bah-bye, Sunshines

Harvest Moon

Whirl-wind Weekend

2008-Apr-15, Tuesday 01:34 pm
msmoon: (Kitty - Coffee)
I’m still not fully recovered from this past weekend. Travel lag sucks @$$. Seriously. Picked up Scamp and Puppies Friday evening. The puppies were nervous at first, but they settled themselves down after a while and their only concern was when I got out and had to fuel up (mainly, they didn’t want me to leave the car =..=). When we got to the Nexus, they got out and used the bathroom and then we went inside, and they would do this thing where, whenever I would move, they would bark. We kind of thought it might be because they were afraid I was leaving...

Saturday was a dragging day. That morning, about 3 am, a big storm blew through, with thunder loud enough to shake my walls. The dogs are afraid of thunder and the dark, and it wasn’t like we could sleep anyway, so Scamp and I got up and tried to ride it out. It wasn’t that big of a deal when they saw we were calm and we had turned some lights on. We both went back to bed, and the next morning was just…laziness. We did nothing but watch movies, when we had planned on straightening up the house and all. No! I did get most of the laundry done…so that was something. Unfortunately the dogs continued on their annoying habit of barking at me every time I moved. It got old very quickly. Luckily, we weren’t moving that much.

Mom and Dad finally got home...they’d had a bit of footage on Zeiss. Turns out they decided not to buy the land they actually went there for because of there were just too many restrictions. But they did put a bid down on a house and some land there and that was what they had to show us. It was a nice house with 6 ½ acres of land. After watching it, Mom turns to me and says, “So what do you think?” I nod and say “It looks nice.” And she says, “We were thinking, maybe we could give you this house and we could build our own!” and I was like, “Uh..no.” no offense or anything, but this is land and a house they put money down for. I was in no way involved with the decision, so I don’t see why I should get stuck with a house they don’t even really want. Maybe that’s conceited, but I’m making a bunch of sacrifices for this move anyway. I’d like it if I could have as many choices.

Sunday, I woke up around 8 and went down stairs..and was greeted by loud barking. I squatted down and let Sandy smell me, but Teeshut would not be satisfied. He even bit me…twice. That’s when the barking became too much. Scamp calmed the dogs down and we both proceeded to get ready to go to Reiko’s house. We gated the bathroom and put the dogs there, and left as they screamed for us not to. After a 2 hour drive we arrived and we all went to lunch at Catfish Charlie’s in Harahan. It was a great meal and we got day-old biscuits to feed the ducks and turtles that were in the lake on the back deck. Then we went back to the house and watched another episode of Supernatural. J10 left for work early, and after finishing the episode we were on, we all went to the World Market in the Covington/Mandiville area. We stocked up on snacks from Japan (arigato!) and then we went down to Baskin Robins, which has become a tradition.

Meanwhile, J10 started calling Reiko on my phone, because he had hers. And he kept asking where she was and when we wouldn’t answer, he’d leave these dorky messages pretending to be an insecure boyfriend/stalker. We get in Baskin Robins and Reiko hands the phone back to me. It rings a couple times and each time I pick it up, there’s nothing but silence. At one point I say “Dude, there’s a kid in here. I can’t cuss you out, so stop calling.” The Baskin Robins girl told me to go ahead, they needed something to talk about later after all. Once the kid finally left, J10 called again, and I paused while I watched the kid walk away and then I got loud and say, “OK! The kid’s gone! I can cuss you out now!” There was a big guy at the counter, and when he heard that, he laughed and shook his head. It was funny. A minute later, after I’d handed the phone to Reiko, she starts saying “What do you mean, you can see me? You can’t see me!....sitting by the…how do you know I’m sitting by the window!?” and he pulls up into the drive-through =..= Twas funny though. Reiko says, “…it’s like he’s stalking me!” and I said, with sarcastic enthusiasm, “I know! This morning when you got out of the bathroom, he was there!” and she was like, “Yeah! In the bed! And his clothes were everywhere!” So we all ended up having ice-cream together. I thought it was funny ^..^

Then we went back to Reiko’s house and finished watching Supernatural. After that, we headed back home. It was early, but there were so many delays…we really didn’t get home early. The puppies were very happy to have their mom back, and Scamp took them out and had cuddles with them. Teeshut started with that barking every time I moved again, and he would rush towards me like he was going to bite me again, so I started rushing back at him and yelling “SHUTUP!!” at the top of my lungs…I find it works really well. In fact, Teeshut acts like he’s a bit frightened of me now, which doesn’t really bother me overly much.

Monday was a blur. I don’t remember anything that happened, I was just so very tired. I still am, but not as bad as Monday. I hardly talked at work, so the girls knew something was up. My left arm was killing me too. Scamp and I were thinking it might be because I carried a bunch of stuff around Sunday on that shoulder. What I do remember, besides the pain, is the premier of Bones. God, but I had missed that show. I can’t wait till the 3rd season comes out…along with the 3rd season of Supernatural. Although with the writer’s strike and how short those seasons were, I don’t know if they intend to lengthen them or…not. /shrugs.

Oh, and while I had been out coasting through work, Scamp cleaned up my house a bit and got my headphone-mic to work on world of Warcraft. She also worked my Rogue, Toxeus up to level 9.99. I got so tired last night that I was a little loopy. I slept hard last night too. But I’m still tired…though that’s not anything unusual.

I guess that’s all for now. I mean, lunch time is over and I can’t think of what else to write….sounds like good enough reason to stop to me! Later, sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Christmas Kitty)
I need days off from my days off! That isn’t even fair...The weekend...it wasn’t bad really. In fact it passed as most weekends do. Unfortunately, very little can prepare for all that can (and will) happen when the ‘Mouto-chans come to town.

Monday didn’t go quite how I thought it would. Scamp and I ended up cleaning most of the day and Chibi didn’t make an appearance till after 6. I had “cooked” Potstickers and Ragoons ^..^ so we had a nice meal. She told us that she had to be ready to leave around 10:30 the next morning for an appointment at 11, so I made sure to call Reiko and left messages on her voice mail. We talked a bit between things, and ended up doing more watching TV than anything. A funny event came when there was something on TV about seeing someone in a vision, and Chibi said, “Well that sounds like a bad romance novel...” to which I looked at her and promptly flipped her off. Those of you who don’t know the premise of my book, won’t see why that’s funny, but it cracked Scamp up.

We stayed up late (much later than I’m accustomed to) watching the first season of Supernatural (which, Chibi has yet to finish even now). We watched up to Hell House – 1.17, and by then it was 3 a.m. and I was exhausted. I told them I was going to bed and they should, too, since we had to wake up at 8ish. Of course, they didn’t actually go to sleep. They probably didn’t stop talking till 4 =..= I was not a happy psycho bunny.

During this time, I tried to get to sleep but couldn’t. At one point I had to go to the bathroom, so I got up and went to go down stairs. Of course, Chibi and Scamp’s excited talking came to a halt and Scamp yelled out “I see whiteness!” and Chibi yells out “She looks like a ghost!”. These statements accompanied mass hysteria, with the girls going on and on about how I was glowing and eventually collapsing into giggles. I ignored this, with disgruntled amusement, and just went to the bathroom. While I’m in the bathroom, I hear whispering (which wasn’t covered up very well) and then a long series of loud thumps. I quickly realize that it isn’t, in fact, a herd of wild wildebeest going up my stairs (that’d just be crazy!) but it’s Chibi and Scamp going up my stairs into my room (where they have no business being! ^..^). So I get out of the bathroom and turn on the upstairs light, and sure enough, they’re frozen in my bed, as if caught red handed. They though they’d “sneak up” and then surprise me when I got back upstairs...I guess they forgot that my hearing is great and my bedroom and stairs are directly above my bathroom.

The next morning, I woke up around 8 and went down stairs to make coffee. I wasn’t quiet but I wasn’t loud ether since the girls needed to wake up too. I fixed my breakfast and then Scamp fixed hers and finally Chibi dragged herself off the air mattresses and made hers. We talked a little bit and then watched one more episode of Supernatural (Something Wicked – 1.18). Reiko called at some point saying that her new boyfriend, whom I shall call J10, had a job interview and they probably wouldn’t make it till 3. Of course, Chibi had to leave at 10:30, but she said she might be able to make it back for 6.

After Chibi left, I honestly don’t remember much. I know I tried to go back and take a nap...though I can’t say if I succeeded, because while I “napped” it felt like I was still awake and aware of everything. But I woke up around 12 and I was just as tired…so I determined that it wouldn’t help me to take a nap. So…I had a Mountain Dew. That woke me up better than any cup of coffee could. Scamp and I didn’t do much other than watch TV after that till around 2ish. I decided to throw the lasagna into the oven so that it’d be ready when Reiko got there. Of course, it was ready long before she got there and was a little cooled…which, I suppose is better than raging hot.

After opening her gifts (which I hurried her through, because by then we only had five minutes left on the DVD Camcorder), J10 decided he wanted to try running up the walls of my house…which sounded so bizarre, I agreed. We all went out and watched him run at the house and try to get as far as he could. Then he grabbed the side of the house…and the metal rim sliced through two of his fingers, cutting him really deep. Blood was gushing, Reiko was freaked, J10 wasn’t that bothered by it…well, other than the pain. So we go inside and wash the cuts out. I hike over to my parents place and they’re just arriving so I ask for peroxide. I grab a huge thing of peroxide and bring it back, repeatedly drenching his fingers in them. The ring finger didn’t look so bad, but the middle finger was really bad. We wrapped them, and he kept his arm elevated. He had some beef jerky, and I suggested beer for the blood loss, but he said that beer didn’t really work that it was wine that would help with blood...so, now I’m confused. But oh well. They hung out for a little while longer, and we got a call from Chibi’s mom saying that they had to have dinner with some family or something, and she wouldn’t be here till 9. So, Reiko and J10 begged us to go to their new place...which is in Hammond…which is a little over an hour away. We mulled over it a while, and called Chibi to see if she could make it any sooner and then just go with us…only to find that Chibi was sleeping…and her mom couldn’t wake her. So the answer was basically no. So we told them we were going to Harahan, so not to come tonight. She called later to say that she’d come over for a little while Wednesday night. So we left, but not before stopped by Reiko’s parents place to make sure she had all her stuff.

The ride over was…uh…eventful but quiet really. Well, quite when you consider who was in the car. Reiko drives at excessive speeds, going 80 in 55 MPH zones and 90 on the interstates. Of course, I haven’t had my tires aligned in a while, so as soon as I get over 75 MPH, my car starts to shake a little. And then there was the one guy who had some serious road rage when Reiko passed him. He wouldn’t let me pass at all, so we ended up letting him go around or something. It was weird. I gotta say that was a long car ride, but mostly because we were quiet. I had things like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation playing on the radio really loudly, so it wasn’t like it was all quiet. Just…we were. We got there around 8ish...and their house is really cool. I almost wish I’d brought the camera.

We stayed over for a while, enjoying the banter between Reiko & J10 and Chimera’s antics after being exposed to catnip. We left around 10. Aside from one mishap, we got home right as rain. Of course, by then it was after 11 and was exhausted. I showered and ate a little bit then crashed. 5:30 always comes early. I got ready in a haze and took a Mountain Dew with me…after discovering it’s magical powers, I decided to keep a bottle on hand for rough mornings ^..^ I got through work and went home. I gotta say, after all that activity, it made me really miss my parents. Mom had a nice meal made and we had Mr. Harvey over for supper. We ate and talked a bit and then Scamp and I went back to the Nexus. I showered and then we talked and waited for Chibi to show. We talked a little when she got there, but she wanted to see more of Supernatural so we finished off the 5th disc. So there are only 2 episodes left! I told her, “By the time you’re ready for the second season, I’ll have the fourth on DVD….Which, I suppose, works out really well!” Chibi’s mom came and got her around 11 and we said our goodbyes. I promised not to die before I wrote my book so she could see me again ^..^

Damn…that’s a big entry. But that’s what I’ve been doing and all the eventful things. I’m sure if I’ve missed anything, Scamp will comment on it…as soon as she gets home that is. I can’t wait till Friday just so I can sleep in again on Saturday =..=. But, I guess that’ll be all for now. Later, Sunshines.

You Should Have a Purple Christmas Tree

For you, the holidays represent a time of creativity and expression.

There's no way you'd do something bland simply for tradition's sake.

You are an independent person, and you definitely do the holidays your own way.

And you're decadent enough to go way over the top with any unusual holiday ideas you have.

Your purple tree would look great with: Purple lights and ornaments

You should spend Christmas Eve watching: A Christmas Story

What you should bake for Santa: "Kitchen sink" cookies - with a ton of things in them

Harvest Moon

Serious Progress

2007-Sep-22, Saturday 10:48 pm
msmoon: (Kermit YAY)
The Nexus is finished!!!!

*pant pant pant* Ok, finished as in the floor is done. We’ve been moving a few things in little by little, but I’m far from moved in. Dad said the toilet isn’t done, the trim isn’t done, it’s not at all clean, and no major things have been moved in (bed, clothes, fandoms, etc). I’m just excited to finally see it done. I actually woke up pretty early for a Saturday. It was around 8:30, and I was very hungry, so I went outside and asked Dad if he wanted some eggs. He’s infamous for having 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter anywhere between 4 and 6 in the morning and then working till 10 and starving. He said he’d love some, so I fixed coffee, bacon, four eggs (two for each of us) and some toast (to sopp up the eggs). We had breakfast and then got ready to leave for town.

We priced toilets and doors, and then realized that Dad hadn’t taken measurements for the wall or toilet seat, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to buy a toilet without precise measurements. We looked at doors, but I knew we weren’t getting anything. Everything’s so expensive, so we’re just going to saw off part of the bottom of the door and re-attach the bottom with some sort of sealer. Dad seems to know what he’s doing, so I’ll just let him figure it out.

We came home, and I was excited because season 2 of Bones finally came in. After eating we started putting the shelf liner in, and then loading up the shelves with my glasses, cups, mugs and plates. Mom and Dad had to go back to town (for the toilet and some other things). I stayed and put up my fans, and my chairs (those that I could carry that is), and some of the other little things that would go in the kitchen and bathroom, along with the gifts that I’ve got wrapped for Christmas and birthdays. I tried to assemble my DVD cabinet...but evidently I can’t wrap my head around the directions =..= Mom and Dad came back with a new toilet and Mom helped me put liner in the rest of the cabinets. We also cleaned up a bit more, or tried to. We keep tracking stuff in as we come in and out, so it’s hard to keep the place clean. Mom and Dad had to leave again, so I tried to load in as many stuff full of boxes as I could, but there were some things that were just too heavy.

I unloaded as much as I could till it started getting dark. Then, I came home and showered. I’ve been watching Supernatural ever since. Though, I did manage to come up with a list of products that I regularly buy for future use. Dad has said he’ll try to get my bed and other heavy items in on Monday, so I’ll probably be moved in by then if nothing goes wrong /crosses fingers.

Now I’m going to have my mid-night snack and then o to bed. I’ve been trying to finish up this entry for the past 2 hours, so..I’m gonna go ahead and close this out and hit the hey. Later, sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - Sucks outloud)
Well, this weekend was miserable. Yes, I live and breath and…burn. It’s a long convoluted story, and eventually I will get to it. But first...hows about we focus on what good was done.

I updated my movie list, beings as I’ve bought a couple of new things recently (or had things bought for me. Whichever). And then I decided to go ahead and pack up all of my box sets of shows and anime. It took two boxes to do, and I have cataloged these boxes with ID numbers and everything.

Reiko called me Friday afternoon sometime because she really wanted to inform me of this web site called TV Links (yet another great way to waste time). She discovered it and found out you can watch TV shows, Cartoons, Movies, Music Videos and the most important part (at least to Reiko) Anime. So, she introduced me to the first four episodes of Petshop of Horrors which is a very Reiko anime...I don’t like the tragedy that’s in every damn episode, but I did enjoy the depiction of the Kirin/Kilin and Medusa. That was awesome. I’d seen an image of a Kirin before (other than the kick-ass character that’s in CSHayden’s gargoyles fanfiction) and the thing I saw was not in any way appealing. At least PSOH got the image to look decent.

Something really...awkward happened Saturday. It’s a little weird and very painful, and extremely feminine, so I shall put it behind a cut so that no one feels forced to find out what happened.

I sure hope this day goes by quickly. Mom said that we would try to get in the Nexus and dust off the walls and stuff. That way when it comes time to pain, there’s nothing in the way...I don’t know that I ever fully understood that, but whatever. If it speeds the process along, then that’s fine. And that’s gonna have to be it for me today. Mostly because I just can’t think of anything else to write. Later, Sunshines.

Your Love is Based on Friendship

For you, chemistry doesn't really happen without compatibility.
Companionship and openness are the most important parts of your relationships.
Whoever you love should be your best friend.
And falling in love with a good friend is never out of the question.

Why your love can last: You only fall for people who you truly understand... and who truly understand you

Why your love can fail: Sometimes you don't admit how important physical chemistry is to you

PS: Oh yeah, I totally forgot, but my Aunt Batty went to better doctors (ones that don’t think she’s just a dramatic basket case), and they found out it’s her gallbladder that’s giving her the problem. Lori says there’s this nerve called the Vagas nerve (pronounced like Vegas) that runs from the gallbladder to the heart and if that starts acting up it can feel like heart problems. So, Mom and Dad are still on for going to Colorado on the 28th. Which means that when Scamp comes down we’ll have the house to ourselves...and she’ll be able to keep Fred company ^..^

msmoon: (Gargoyles - Face me)
6-21-2007, Thursday 5:10 / 4:10c pm

Wow. What a long and tiresome trip. Though, I must say, it was quite enjoyable towards the end. After the first four hours, I got so bloody exhausted the giggles set in. I was still dreadfully tired, but Mom and I took turns driving. I drove from 10 to 12, and Mom said she couldn’t sleep and would rather drive. So, I tried to sleep and failed miserably. I ended up staying awake to talk to Mom and keep her awake. I ended up driving again from 3:30 to 6 ...or 7...considering that we did loose an hour when we crossed the time zone.

We picked up Jen (my Twin-san) and headed to McDonalds for breakfast. Then we made her drive the rest of the way. My God...such an excruciating task. Driving 4 hours, insanely giddy from not sleeping at all in the past 24 hours, getting more and more car sick but the miles just keep stretching on. We finally got here around 11:30 and while our room was empty, it wasn’t clean. So we waited 45 minutes till it was ready. Gotta say...this hotel has been a tad on the weird side. Forget the fact that there’s some major construction going on in the lobby, but when Mom went to check in and get the key, she mentioned to the front desk man that we had Jacuzzi and he offered to “help us test it out”...um…*fake laugh* no.

When we finally got to our room, which is on the 3rd floor, and hanging right over the pool, we unpacked a bit. Then we headed to Wal-Mart to buy things we’d need (disposable coffee cups, paper plates, cups, food stuffs, etc).I also managed to get some post cards to send to everyone back home.

So now, we’re just relaxing...occasionally watching Retrace & snacking. That’ll be all for tonight...I hope.

6-23-2007, Saturday 11:43 pm

Wow. You know, we haven’t been half as busy as we could’ve been, and yet I still haven’t written much of anything. First off I have to say…this hotel is just weird. Not only are their cracks in the balcony above us (causing rain to trickle down onto our balcony from those cracks, but Jen says she only walks around barefoot in the hotel room and her feet are black. And that’s not even mentioning what happened late Thursday night. We were getting ready for bed, and Mom had decided to let us have the king size bed and she’d take the sofa sleeper. Well first off, we couldn’t get the sleeper out of the sofa =..= So, we call for help down to the front desk and a nice chinese man comes up, takes a look around and says “I know this room. Hole in couch.” There is a hole in the back of our couch, and a tiny pointy metal thing sticks out of it! He asked for a towel, and put the towel over the whole and told us not to movie it….O..O Que? Later we found out that the toaster and blow dryer didn’t work either. Then my cousin Faren comes over, and he’s a builder, and he says this place looks like it’s about to fall apart...great. Oh well. On to the good (no great!) parts of the convention.

Friday was easy-going. I think I woke up around 8, but I didn’t actually get up till 9. Our first panel was at 11, so we didn’t need to hurry. We went to FanFic 101 with Kathy Pagge. There might’ve been 12 people there. It was a great panel and I recorded it with Zeis, learning to use my fanny pack as a base for the camera.

There are 30 minute breaks between the panels. So we went to the room for food. Then we attended a “Grimorum Making” panel. It was actually some artists/art students showing us how to make books. They’re usually used as sketch books, but you can use them as “convention books” or anything else. It was a lot of fun because everyone’s so relaxed and fun.

There was a long break between then and the “Opening Ceremonies” which was fun, if slightly excruciating. They usually have a projection screen, but this time they only had a big screen TV…of course that meant if you were sitting anywhere behind the 3rd row, you were unable to see said TV. So we all stacked our chairs on the sides of the room and sat on the floor. Jen and I kept having our legs fall asleep, even though we were on the front row. They showed us the original preview for Gargoyles given to the press when Disney decided to go ahead with the show, and they had the volume up really really loud to mimic the effect it had on the reporters. There was a lot of crashing and roaring, and when the lights came on and Greg Wiseman started out with “So...” I said “What?!”. My ears were still ringing slightly @..@ But he went on to tell us that all of the reporters had kids and Disney was releasing this ‘kids show’ that looked and sounded very scary. So the obvious question was, ‘What type of kid show is this.’ …the obvious reply was ‘It’s better than Barney ^..^ Very cool.

We were also shown the preview for Bad Guys and an Atlantis/Gargoyles crossover...and we were assured that the comic book would be a continuation of the Gargoyles series, with Pendragon, Timedancer and Bad Guys to follow. That will be something to look forward to. I’ve already bought the 4 issues of the Gargoyles comic that are out, so I can’t want to see everything else. There was so much discussed at the Opening Ceremonies, but I only taped the first part of it, because I knew a lot of it was ‘off limits’. Jen got up and just left because her legs were killing her. I followed not too long after because they didn’t last too much longer.

Now today was much the same...till evening. We attending “From Fan to Pro with Karine Charlebois. That was interesting but really better for artists. After that was “World Building” with Daroneasa, which was very fun. We all talked with her about building the worlds in our story from the ground up; everything from society to religion to families. It was great. But it only lasted till 3, so we headed back to our room. Mom and my cousins (who’d come down from their place to go sight seeing with Mom) wanted to go to the Aquarium, but they decided to wait till later because it doesn’t close till 11.

So, Jen called her boyfriend and told him about what we’d been up to. She eventually got around to telling him that I’d purchased some swords from a place called China Bazaar, and he told her that was what he wanted as a souvenir. So we headed back (and I bought a couple other things). Then we got back and went to the Aquarium. Well, we went to Gatlinburg and ate first. Then we went to the Aquarium. Twas fun, but my legs and feet were killing me. I bought Jen and me some sea turtle souvenirs.

We went back through Gatlinburg, and she got us these things from Kilwin’s...they’re rice crispie treats on a stick, dunked first in caramel then in chocolate and laced with darker chocolate. ...her Mom calls them sex-on-a-stick. We also stopped at a little shop called Lavis Jewelry that had these really cool fairies. I bought a mage-looking fairy with a crescent moon staff, and Jen bought a hanging fairy holding a hatching dragon, it’s just like the one I got for Reiko last Christmas. She said that she has a lot of dragon figures, and it wouldn’t make sense to just buy a fairy. There were some lovely dragons that both of us loved, but the smallest was $50 and the price kept going up from there O..O

6-24-2007, Sunday

Wow. What a busy day. Evidently the Radio play was pretty awesome last night (or maybe it was the blue mug..yeah, definitely the blue mug ^..^). Our first pane of Costume Tip Trading with Jennifer Anderson …turned into Costume Tip Trading with Lynati. I don’t know where the head of the panel was, but she couldn’t make it so Lynati (who’s a veteran of Gargoyles everything) took over and answered questions and included everyone. It was great…but I’m not into the costume thing. I thought Jen would enjoy it though, since she likes to cosplay a lot.

Next we went to Gargoyles Physiology & Culture, and that was headed by Greg Weisman, Lynati and Jade Griffin. That was only getting good towards the end, and then we had to leave because we were dying of hunger. But I did manage to tape all of what we did see. So that was good. I’m not so crazy about evolution, so the whole first part about their actual biology and how they may’ve evolved wasn’t thrilling. But to see Greg Weisman light up while discussing Gargoyles culture was great. It’s funny too, because he’s not an expert in biology and such so he’d ask Lynati and Jade Griffin questions like “Would that be possible?” or “This is how I see it, tell me if I’m right in my layman’s terms.” It was really great.

We had wanted to go to the Bad Guys panel that was going to be a showcase for the upcoming Bad Guys comic, but we ended up being late, and then decided we’d rather not disturb them and walk in right in the middle. That was a bit of a bummer, but hey, we had to get food @..@

The Banquet was fun. We had one of the girls who joined the “Order of the Phoenix Gate” sitting at our table. Turns out, Thom Adcox had decided to get a tattoo after one of his panels. Well the people in the panel were like “What’re you doing now Thom?” and he said “I’m going to get a tattoo.” So they all went and got the same tattoo of the phoenix gate. The girls got it on the small of their backs and the guys got it on their bicep except for Thom who got it on his ankle. It was pretty sweet. I have to say, that’d be one awesome tattoo to get, and I don’t even like tattoos that much. *shrugs*. After seeing that, Jen was itching to go out and get a tattoo. I think she must’ve thought about it the whole time we were at the table ^..^ I don’t even know the names of the people at my table, but they were all cool. There was one girl that actually had a tattoo of wings coming out from her shoulder blades. That was uber leet as well. The only thing that was annoying was that there was one girl (whom I shall not name) who kept barraging the guests with questions, mostly about Puck and all running together. At one point I leaned over and said “Maybe one of us should ask what Puck’s favorite color is before she gets the chance to ask another 3 questions.” It was annoying, but funny at the same time.

We headed to the room again for the break between things, and a storm cropped up. It wasn’t mush, just a bit of rain with high winds and thunder and lightning. Of course, this hotel is so shoddy that the door started shaking. Jen was on the phone with her boyfriend, and she was laying on one side of our king size bed while I was on the other side writing post cards. The wind kicked up, and suddenly she’s launched herself into my lap O..O Twas amusing. Then she says to her boyfriend that “It’s like a hurricane outside!” and I’m like “Turst me, hon. This is not hurricane worthy ^..^” That made it even funnier.

The Masquerade was fun, but shorter than I thought it’d be. We did get there early, just to make sure we’d have good seats. Of course, Jen’s camera died 3 seconds into the whole thing =..= Oh, and of course, we were sitting in front of a lot of uber leet people, and I was too paralyzed to introduce myself. I just figured I’d be bothering them. I mean, they came to have fun at the gathering, not be pestered by some fangirl . So, I held my tongue and place and just watched the Masquerade. I tell you what, they had a lot of really nice dresses on the contestants (that I’d never have the courage to wear), but the Gargoyle that won for best in show was just awesomeness on a stick. And they had a lady that was a “Belly Dancing Fae” and let me tell you, she could really belly dance well for a lady her age. I hope I have that much control over my body in 20 years =..= She was awesomeness. It really made me want to get those belly-dancing pants that I’d see in the dealers room too. But alas, my Jen had inquired about them and the lady had only brought one. Anyway, after the awards were given out, we left. We’re not good dancers (or minglers evidently >..<).

Oh yeah, speaking of the Dealers room, we had so much fun there (and I spent a lot of money there). I bought 2 chain-mail bracelets from Vox, a ‘sea horse’ painting from kth-dragon, and a fairy painting for Jen. It’s really great to buy from artists directly, because they’re always so happy that you’re buying from them. We spend a lot of time there just talking and hanging out. There was a beautiful replica of the Phoenix gate that was a necklace, and I really wanted it, but it was up for auction, and we weren’t staying that long, and I didn’t have the money for it anyway. The artist alley was pretty cool too. I recognized a lot of stuff from artists I've admired for such a long time. It's a little sad that this is our last day too. On one hand I really wish I could stay, but I know it's not at all practical. Ah well. Such is life I suppose.

6-25-2007, Monday

Probably the most miserable day, but only because I get so car sick and we were traveling all damn day. We decided to leave that morning, if only because we had spent so much money and we just really needed to get home. So, we left around 10 that morning, after loading the car down with all our crap + all the crap we bought ^..^ We headed to Gatlinburg as a favor for a friend. Lori had given me money to buy her some wine. It’s her favorite and it’s only sold in that area. So we go and find it…and they don’t have it. It wouldn’t be ready for two more weeks. Le sigh. It would’ve been a total loss except that we saw a pet store right next door, and the owner had her pets in the store with her. I love those types of shops. I got myself a Doxxie shirt, and I think Jen got herself a English Bulldog shirt, pen and bookmark...she and I are such dorks. We’re not even dog owners yet! But anyway.

We drove for hours till we finally got to Atlanta. Jen drove the whole way (thank God). And we ended up leaving Atlanta right in the middle of rush hour traffic. We were not happy campers. It took us about an hour to 45 minutes to get out of Atlanta. Just down-town Atlanta, not the whole city, mind you. I think we left around 3:30 or 4ish, and Mom drove for a while, but she wasn’t feeling great. I was borderline panic-attacking, so I just laid back and tried to relax. We pulled off around 5 to go to the bathroom and get some nachos and cheese (gotta have the basics), and I took over driving. I drove from 5 to 11 that night, and we were about 60 miles away from New Orleans when we pulled over to get gas. Mom took over after that, and I just stayed up to keep her company and talk. We got home around 12:30ish a.m. I think I showered, and then went to sleep. We woke up…I think at 12 p.m. We were unpacked and happy…even if the day was very short. I guess it made up for the day before that was so damn loooong.

That has been my gathering experience. I enjoyed it if only because I got to spend a lot of time with Jen. Spending tons of money on cool swag was fun too ^..~

Harvest Moon

Loooong Weekend

2007-May-21, Monday 02:26 pm
msmoon: (Are you ok?)
OMG, so sore. I think I actually worked harder over the weekend than I do at work…And I’m pretty sure it’s a forshadowing of things to come, what with the Nexus needing so much work. We didn’t even do any work on the Nexus this past weekend either. We went through my closet and my books, and then we cleaned up the house for Mom. Mom and Aunt Audrey went off to Tennessee, and they came back early (Sunday Night/Monday morning instead of Monday evening like was planned). So, we worked franticly Sunday…Saturday, was more going through stuff and putting everything off to tend to Sunday ^.^

Saturday statrted out well enough. We woke up and watched The Prestige, which was an awesome movie. I mean, I kept thinking “Ok, this has got to explain itself and get better soon...” then at the end it was just pure “O.O” in awe. Seemed like the answer was so simple, but you never would’ve thought about it till you got over half way through the movie. It doesn’t really help that they keep going from present to past either…but it works. It just increased it’s priority level on my wish list ^.^

I hurt my arm pretty badly Saturday too. We were going through my closet and I picked up my backpack which was way in the back, and I was trying to bring it up front so I could see what was in it. Well, I’m all the way in the closet basically, and the closet door slides shut so suddenly, it throws me off balance and I hit the wall, my right arm trying to brace myself, lift myself back up and hang on to that back pack. So, yeah, afterward, my arm really hurt. But, like the workhorse that I am, I just ignored it (or tried to). Then once everything was done and we decided to watch TV, my arm really was killing me. So much so that I decaded to bite the bullet and rub banalg (or however it’s called) all over my arm. That sucker really hurt then. It was like that burning sensation and it hurt from my shoulder to my fingers and even into parts of my shoulder blades and under arms. I mean, I moved my pinkie and I felt it all down my arm.

I got Scampers to watch Voyage of the Unicorn, which isn’t a bad movie if you just keep in mind that it’s low bedut =.= I liked the story line, even if it was a tad on the juvenile side. But I think half way through it we ended up forgetting the move (save for one or two parts where we cracked jokes about it) and just ended up talking to one another.

Oh, and we had forgotten to check the mail, and I went to check it Sunday morning and my Sailor Moon Super S had come in, which was the superest super fast shipping that I’ve ever experienced. I mean, I have two orders that were placed on May 4 that still haven’t come in. One of which was supposed to be in by the 15…Now, I really am more than a little anxious. But, there’s nothing to do about it yet. I have to wait on USPS, because that package is in the mail. If I see that it gets “delivered” and I don’t have it in, then I’ll take issue. The other one isn’t due to till the 28th…we’ll just have to see what we see. But anyway. I got a copy of SMS, but it’s in decent condition, so I don’t really mind so much. And it was pretty cheap (for anime).

Sunday was a lot of cleaning, some Warcraft and some watching TV/Sailor Moon. We also went through all the books that were in my bin and put them in my bed shelves….and then I realized that one of the bins was nearly empty. So I emptied all of the books into one bin, got that old crate that held the other half of my books, transferd all of my Saddle Club books into the other bin, and put the other part of my books into my bed shelves. All in all, a productive day. My arm started to hurt towards the end of it though.

Oh! And I got to cook…well sorta. I mean, I didn’t really do much actual cooking…I ”cooked” egg rolls, ragoons and ramen for lunch. Twas very good….if I do say so myself. I guess it’s just a small bit of an accomplishment when you can actually think of everything and do it all yourself.

Waking up this morning was hard…I was so sore. Aunt Audrey was on the couch when I woke up, so I tried to be quiet while I was making breakfast. I just couldn’t seem to wake up, so I’m sure I didn’t do that great a job. Everyone was up by the time I was finished getting ready (dressed/makeup/hair), and Mom seems to be getting a bit of a sore throat. I had some groceries written down on the list and there was some medicine that I need picked up too.

That’s all for now. I hope Scampes hasn’t zoned out on too much Warcrack. She was addicted to it enough yesterday. I’ll go ahead and sign off now though. Later, sunshines.

Wow…what an eventful weekend. I think we did more than during the weekend than during the week. I have pictures up on FaceBook and my scrap book here of the whole bed fiasco. We had to go pick up my bed Saturday, but we got there at 9, and they weren't open. So Mom wanted to show me some dishes and things at Target that she thought I might like. Dad ended up buying me some uber-cool silverware that I love and a little coffee pot just for me ^.^ Hapyness. So, yeah, then we got my bed...and we ended up having to tavel back and forth to two 3 times for it =.= I’ll show you the album in a second.Let’s just say that it was trying, and we were all very tired after the whole hoopla was over, but I now have a very nice bed and I enjoy it very much ^.^ So that’s what matters. However, I must say, this is the first time that I've ever gotten something from Ashely's Furniture, and it will no doubt be the last.

Oh, another cool note to touch on. Mom went over to my Aunt Carolyn’s Sunday after lunch. But Dad wasn’t feeling good. So, he and I stayed home, ate ice creame and watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding. OMG, that was histericle. I never get tired of that show! And Dad and I laughed so much through the whole thing. And the fact that I was watching this chick flik with Dad, and he enjoyed it just as much as Mom and I, makes it so much funnier.

Oh, Scamp finally sent me the 4th chapter of her story. And since I got my new black print cartridge, I decided to reformat the Scamp Binder. So now, I have an index of the story followed immediately by the story, then I have a divider and her character descriptions, followed by another divider and her races. It looks all official and crap and I’m very pleased with it ^___^.

Other than all that, nothing much is going on...I love my new furniture. Things are tiring, but we still make them fun somehow. See ya’ll later, Sunshines.

Plans within Plans

msmoon: (Light or Train)
How can a weekend fly by when you do almost nothing the entire time…? I just don’t get it. What did I do of merit this weekend?...Saturday, I went shopping with Mom. That was Wal-Mart and Sam’s. We didn’t go too overboard at Wal-Mart, but Sam’s kinda did us in. We got to looking around at stuff...I guess, we just figured we didn’t have anywhere to be so it wouldn’t hurt to look around. Of course, that’s a mistake...

Scamp’s not feeling good again…In a way, I wish I could help, but if she’s anything like me, she’d rather just be left along when she’s sick...It’s probably the sudden change in the weather. I mean, just last week I was complaining that it felt like a sweltering Summer day and then Saturday we wake up and it’s freezing outside, we we’re having sleet (yes, even we with our almost-beach-front-properity, got sleet!). I was sitting in my room, and my parents had gone to town again, and I heard this ‘tink tink…tink tink” and I new it wasn’t Seymour or the Fairies, so I looked around the house, thinking it might be the blinds in the living room if Mom left the fan on. But she hadn’t, and I listened while I was in the living room and it sounded like normal rain. Then I realized that normal rain on the tin porch wouldn’t make that noise, so I rushed out and opened the door, and it felt like I had steped into a freezer =.= Another excuse to wear my fuzzy socks, I suppose. But this morning, I heard the weatherman say that we’d be in the 80’s by the end of the week...so, I expect to get sickly by then as well =.=’’’

I don’t think I’ve done a Nexus update recently. I think I had mentioned that our renters were moving out sooner than later, but I don’t think I mentioned that they suddenly got a big break and were going to start moving out on the 10th…or 11th…I can’t remember which. I know it’s one of those dates. So, yeah...Gonna be getting that house a lot sooner than I had thought. So, after they’re off and on their way, we’ll open up the house and let it air out for a few days. Then we’ll try to clean it as best we can. Mom said that Dad may have to repair some of the sheet rock (egh, sheetrock =.=). And then, we’re gonna have Lowe’s lay the lynolium tyle that looks like wood. Then I’ll be moving in. Mom bought me my first ‘house warming’ gift Saturday at Sam’s. They had these beautiful, light blue towels of Egyptian Cotton (*deamy music*), and Mom bought me two towels, two wash cloths and a bathroom rug. She said she knew I was doing my bathroom in mermaids, so she figured blue towels and accessories would be a good choice. Of course, I won’t be thinking about decorating for a while. First I’ll just start from the bare bones and pay my bills. Then, as I get more stable and allow myself to save up more and more, I’ll get more things. Of course, I always have plans, but with something this big, I have plans within plans. Not only do I have a list of priorities, I have a list of which priorities are more…priority. I’ll make it work…somehow.

I don’t expect to be in that house any time soon. Not until a little after June in the very least. But already I’m trying to be aware of what might be in store for me. It’s exciting and terrifying all at once. At lest I have my parents to fall back on though…not that I really want to. But at least I know I’ll have people to help me bear the burden. That’s good to know.

Well, I’d better be getting back to work. I’ll write later, sunshines.

msmoon: (Yikes!)
Beware, for I am: Refreshed Refreshed

Ok, so today. Went to Chibi’s and knocked out a few more movies from the list. We watched the fourth season of Red vs. Blue, which was insanely funny. And we watched The Day After Tomorrow; also, insanely funny (at least, if you’re us it was). We watched the first episode of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon too...talk about funny. There was a lot of other insane stuff we watched that was hers (big surprise -_-), but I can’t remember their names...so yeah.

What was really funny was that right at the end of The Day After Tomorrow, the weather over here started getting really bad. And we’d gone through the whole movie with me saying, “They’re all gonna die.” And Chibi responding with, “Yup, they’re gonna die.” Me: “D-E-D, dead.” Chibi: “Uh huh. Dead.” And then we both look out the back window and Chibi looks at me and said, “We’re gonna die...” That was funny. And the weather was bad too, but I love bad weather. Unless it’s tornados. I don’t like tornados. Unless they’re digital...yeah, we’re all whores for digital tornadoes. /nod nod nod.

I have to remember to bring Sailor Moon – Sailor Stars the next time I go over. Though, I don’t know when that’ll be. Chibi gave me a ton of anime to watch. Then again, I think she has more anime than I do -.-

So, that was the day. I shall now go and watch said anime that Chibi loaned me. I will be giving my opinions of it as I watch it for the next few days (weeks?). Tootles.

PS: Oh yeah. I’ve got so many quiz results saved up that I’m never going to get to, that I think I’ve decided to start posting, like, 10 every Sunday or something. I hardly feel like posting on Sundays usually (because I never get anything done then -.-), so I might as well put the time to good use.

EDIT: oh yeah. I updated  MM's DataBase and added chapter 33 to the EQ Saga. Ya'll thougt I'd forgotten, didn't ya?

msmoon: (fan girl)

Beware, for I am: Pleased Pleased

Hope everyone enjoyed that crazy fact filled post. I know I did.

Today work was huge. Let’s just say, I earned my shower today, ok people. I’m mainly in charge of filing things right? Well our filing cabinets are located in the ‘storage room’ which is secret code for the sweat box unfinished area that will be another office. So there’s no air conditioner and it’s hot no matter what you do. I have a fan that blows on me constantly, and I’m always soaked when I come out. Well I’m feeling fairly good since I’ve got half a box left before I’m done filing all the old files. Then I look over in the corner, under some wall decorations and other misc boxes, and after some heavy digging I find about 16 more boxes full of files...I asked Nick which files need filing and the reply was ‘any that aren’t stamped Complete…aka...all of them. ---___--- Yeah. But then I bucked up and just went to work. I filed, I charted, I copied, I filed some more and then I swept and I was home.

Watched Mona Lisa Smile tonight on TV. It was good all over again. It’s one of those movies that makes you very grateful for how far we’ve come and it makes you appreciate all the fights those women had to fight to get our rights for us. I’d seen it ages ago with Mom at the theater. That kinda brought me back. It feels like it’s been ages since I went to the theater. The Palace that is. I can’t wait to go back and see X3 whenever I can. I’m hoping me and the ‘Mouto-chans can pull that off some time this coming week.

Speaking of the ‘Mouto’s, Reiko dropped by to get her graduation present. It finally came in this afternoon with the mail now if only the damn Fruit’s Baskets would get here, then all would be well. She was very very excited. I got her the fourth volume of MeruPuri and the first volume of Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden...and they’re both in English -.- Yeah...Chibi kinda gets into a bad habit of buying Japanese Manga...in the original Japanese language. I’m a fan of Japan and all, but I still can’t read Japanese, yo. I can’t even really speak Japanese. I mean, sure, I can cuss people out, and I can say token phrases, but unless I get into a conversation with a Japanese cab driver, what good will that do me? /takes a breath Man...that was a long sentence...So, Reiko’s graduated (did so on the 24) and Chibi should be coming back soon. Can’t wait. I need my fix, man.../twitch twitch.

I was looking at this picture from Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Man’s Chest, and I couldn’t help but notice that Johnny and Orly look great and rugged and the pictures are so cool..and Kera looks the same. It’s like almost the same pose as from the last one. At least the wet Orlando’s hair and sopped it around his face and put a back light on him and played heavenly music, but Kera looks almost exactly like she did from the first movie...Gotta love this piccy too. I love that the doll hanging from the skull’s dreadlock, dangly thing is like a unhappy voodoo doll of Captain Jack ^___^

Well that’s enough gabbing about movies. Mom and I kinda have plans all made up for parts of this weekend. Tomorrow we’ll sleep in. Then we can go to town, shop a bit, see the sights, have a pedicure (she’s been wanting to do that with me for ages now =_=), and we’re gonna go see Eight Below at the dollar theater. Then we’ll do some grocery shopping and be home. Sunday’s got no plans tacked to it, and even though I know it’s a tad unrealistic, I’m hoping to work on some of my fan fictions (it’s a damn good thing I wrote down all sorts of ideas while I was in college and typed them up. Otherwise I’d have nothing, and the end of the month would come and I’d be like “Ahh! Need write chapters!” But anyway.) Monday I’m kinda hoping to spend with Chibi and/or Reiko. For parts of the day that is. Just to have some fun. Because I think Reiko’s leaving for Kentucky someone tell me what’s in Kentucky worth seeing again? in like a week from tomorrow...uh…today...Uh. It’s the third --___-- So yeah. And then Chibi’s headed off to Switzerland that same week too. So...yeah. We have to manage our time wisely. But Mom and I have agreed to go rent some movies for that night and pop some popcorn and watch them together and have a girl’s night. That’ll be fun. I really hate that I’m not spending as much time with Mom these days...but work does that /shrug.

Well I’m off to bed now. G’night
