Good Day :)

msmoon: (MM - Genki!!)

Yesterday was a great day. I mean, it wasn’t fun as in Ammusement-Park-Loaded-With-Excitement fun, but more of then Dang-but-that-was-a-good-day fun. Dad had to leave that night, and I had decided to cook. My speciality, fried rice with egg rolls and Mom showed me how to make sirloin stir-fry. But, during the day, Mom and Dad went about doing some errands. Dad finally took his truck into the shop to figure out what’s wrong with it. It’s been giving him trouble for a while now. Plus, they had other errands to run... I stayed home and washed clothes and did the dishes and all.

When Dad got back, he hung a swing in one of our trees. I had told him that I would love one of those one-person-rope-on-each-end-of-a-single-board swings....you know, the kind you swing on when you’re a kid and you can just go on and on for hours because you can swing yourself without ever touching the ground? Yeah, one of those :) Aaaand he finally got around to doing that. It’s pretty sweet if you ask me. It’s hung in one of the oaks near the garage/basement entrance, and it’s just a nice view in front.... I told Dad that we need to put another swing on the other side of the tree, and then rig a bench around the base, that way if two people want to swing they can...or if one person does and the other prefers to sit that’s cool too. Yay for reliving childhood :D

Mom and I watched some of American Idol....but we didn’t really watch too much TV. We did walk down to the back of our property. There’s a cedar tree there that took a whole lot of damage from the ice storm. Dad says he’s going to use the fallen limbs as kindling because evidently cedar makes for great kindling. We also surveyed another section of our land, this one the place I hope my trailer will soon be. There is much preparation that will need to be done for that. Luckily, the people who sell the trailer also help with arranging the area for the trailer to be on, and they take their labor for preparing the area out of the trailer fee....which is pretty awesome.

Oh! My commissions finally came in yesterday too! Our mail passes really late in the afternoon here (like 3ish), so when we were walking the mail went by. I went to go and get it and lo and behold, there was my commission from Kth. I contacted her...in 2007, after I’d attended the Gathering of the Gargoyles in Tennessee. Her artwork really just captured me, and it was awesome how she just seemed to understand animal anatomy so well. It made me think that if would be great to work with her on animal sketches since she’d really be able to help decipher what was all fantasy and what could actually work. So, I asked her to draw my 4 Ancients for me...and, over the period of 2 years I finally got them. We both ended up going through circumstances that lead us away from the project, but now it’s finally finished! When I got them, I immediately put them in protective sleeves, because I don’t have frames to put them in yet, and, well, a house to hank them in =..= So, they’ll have to go in with the artwork that Scamp drew for me for now....until I can get them framed properly. Anyway, the pictures are all at her deviantArt page. There’s
Kaze The Wind Lord, Kaiyou The Ocean Lord, Tenkaichi The Earth Lord, and Shakaku The Flame Lord.....and they look so awesome XD It’s just so nice to actually see them...outside of my head. These were the first four characters that I ever thought up, and they’ve been with me since I was about 10. I still don’t have anything to represent their human forms, but I knew their animal forms would be more dynamic, so I was very eager to find someone who would help me with that. So much love for Kth for this. I hope if I can find a job and get back up on my feet again, to contact her again :) I also got Sea Horse from her...because it’s just so awesome :) Shoo-Bee-Do my @$$ :3

Oh, I got my tax refund in too, which is awesome. Sure, it’ll mostly go into a savings account, but hey. Having money is always a good thing. I just hope I can get a job and keep that money untouched until it’s otherwise needed. Tomorrow, Mom and I are going to head in to town and I’m going to apply at the local college, along with a few doctor’s offices and I’m also going to a staffing place. I’m optimistic that if the other places aren’t haring, at least the staffing place will help...though, the realist in me knows no matter how many resumes you hand out or interviews you go on, your fate is entirely in other peoples’ hands.

Anyway....after supper yesterday (which was early strangely enough), I made some oatmeal raisin cookies (my favourites) and they were the enormous ones....they were awesome. I made sure to pack some away for Dad’s trip, because they’re some of his favourites too. He and Mom wanted to watch Wheel of Fortune....and I took that as my queue to get on World of Warcraft :) Yaviel is finally level 40, and she’s wearing a rockin’ red outfit....actually, I’m just grateful that she’s out of the short-shorts -..- Those were a tad embarrassing. Got to talk with Scamp while she was on too. That was fun. I was slightly distracted by my Dad’s GPS dilemma. I asked him if he’d taken his GPS out of his truck (which he’d put in the shop) and put it in my car (which he was taking for his trip out). I got a “O..O” face as a response, so I had to give him a bit of instruction on how to use my GPS so that he could actually get there. Thank God for GPSes though...I’d be so lost without them :3 punny.

I guess...that’s really all there is to talk about. We did go to Branson with the Pastor and his wife Saturday, and I have pictures from there that I really need to upload to FaceBook and MySpace (there was sushi; we went to Wasabi for supper...I still prefer The Sushi Place, but when you’re with people who don’t eat sushi, it’s considerate to go to a place that has more than just sushi). Other than that there’s really nothing else to talk about. So...Guess I’ll write later, Sunshines.

msmoon: (MM's Jellies!)

Welcome to the longest week of my life. Man, it’s just been insane. Work’s intense because I’m always tied to my screen for hours and taking random breaks only when it feels like my head will explode. Thank goodness it actually paid off, because I’m caught up quite a bit now. I’ve also been writing guides to tasks that only I do...that’s always fun.

I went out and got Scamp Saturday. The drive was fun, but my house was being whittled down little by little in the 4 hours it took. My parents had moved everything from upstairs into the shed and many of the things I just didn’t need as well. My mattress was on the floor downstairs. During the down-time we had when my parents were busy with...something else…Scamp and I exchanged birthday gifts! She loved her gifts and I was sooo happy! I got her the Hoard key chain and made it into a necklace, and I got her a Figure Print of Fallena! It was so awesome! And she loved it and stared at it in awe for a long long time. Scamp was...uh, a little disappointed when one of my gifts didn’t really work out. She and Bear had gotten me a beautiful necklace of an owl flying with a moonstone in it’s claws, but she’d also gotten me this tank that has fake jellyfish in it...but, the pump for the tank didn’t work so the jellyfish just sank to the bottom of the tank -..- so yeah, she was disappointed. I loved the necklace though! I told her, “I shall call him ‘Jareth’ and he shall be mine :-D!”. That night was miserable, because my dad’s snoring is unholy...and since we were all sleeping in the same room, that really came into play that night.

Sunday, after church, we all went to Subway. Tried that new Chicken Pizziola or whatever it’s called...it wasn’t bad. Just…not something I’d go out of my way for. When we got home, Mom and Dad had packed up to leave for New Orleans, but the battery on Dad’s truck died. So he had to go to town and get a new one. But once that was done, Scamp and I were pretty much on our own. The geek fest began and much talking and giddy babbling commenced.

Monday was a little harsh...work was just so intense after the more busy than usual weekend. Also, at this point, everyone’s panicked because they realize it’s my last week. Monday and Tuesday went by pretty much the same. I was so very very tired, and went home to talk more with Scamp and vaguely pay attention to Bones. We packed as much as we could, but even when we were doing that, we were talking so much it was like we weren’t working. My parents actually got back from N.O. that afternoon, but they were staying with my Aunt Carolyn for the night. And, yesterday, I canceled my DSL for the 20th, and then later that day, Scamp tells me that they unhooked the computer and packed the wires in a box =..= so yeah...work’s the only way to post aside from Voice Post...which may happen tomorrow ^..^ Scamp managed to crank out some seriously awesome WoW fan fiction too. I dunno if it's cause we just talk about our character so much or because here she can relax a bit more or what, but it was awesome! And just in time too, because my parents showed up to pack everything just after she finished =..=

Oh! And I found something I desperately wanted. I’ve been wanting a mac for so long, but I can’t afford it. Aaaand, I’d been wanting to get a lap top too, because…well, sometimes I shut my computer off and late at night I get ideas to write...and I’d just like to have a laptop. Especially since my Dad was saying there are two colleges in the town and I might go back to college again o..o But anyway! I looked on Amazon.com to see if there were any good laptops that weren’t too highly priced. Well, I found a pretty awesome
MacPro...and it’s about $700 (yes, it’s considered used, but it’s ‘Like New’ so I’m sorta ok with that!), which for a Mac is really awesome! So, I was thinking of saving up my next two checks as much as possible (which is what I’d be doing anyway) and spending my money on that...Merry Christmas to Me, you know? It’d be nice...

Oh, and last night, after class, everyone had a little party for me with this awesome cake and everything! It was funny because they gave me the cutting knife, and I sorta twirled the handle a bit so that the point was facing downward and just stabbed in the center of the cake, and everyone who was watching went, “Whoa!” After we ate and went over to join the others that were sitting about, C.J. asked me “So, did you get any more s words?” and I was like, “S words? Like…Salamander? Or...Sincere?” and he was like, “No! Swords!” and I was like. “oh....” only a minute later did I get S Words put together equals Swords...kinda like Flo Rida, put together is Florida. Yeah -..- I was tired. But yeah. I told him that I’d found the
Halo Sword on Amazon...and that I had a whole Wish List dedicated to various swords and weapons...he was thrilled, but I’m not quite sure why O..o Funny how it amazes me to meet someone just as geeky as I am...in a place where I thought I knew how everyone already was before.

So...today Reiko comes over. The girls said that they’re treating me to Zen’s (well, they said it was my choice so booya :-D.). There are still things to worry about...but I kinda don’t want to anymore. I’m so tired and I can’t. So I’m just going to give the girls at work their Christmas/Going Away presents and have fun and enjoy my last few days here. I even brought my camera today to mark the occasion. I don’t have enough pictures of the girls as far as I’m concerned. So that’s all I’m worried about today. I do still need a change of address form, and to talk to my Edward Jones guy, but I’m thinking that’s something I might be able to squeeze in today and tomorrow. I’ll just have to check. But I refuse to worry about it.

I guess I’m off again. I was taking a little brain break because in the little time I’ve had sitting down I manage to get 7 pages of stats done =..= I can’t wait till 5. So, I’m off again, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Jesus Saves)

I am posting unnaturally early, because I am at work at this unnatural hour =..= Some time yesterday, I thought it was getting a little hot in my house. So, I turned on my fan. Then after sitting there under the fan for a while, I went to the kitchen and realized that it was cooler outside than it was in my house. I checked the thermostat, and I had it set for, like 76 or something, and it was reading 85 degrees. I shut the AC off for an hour to see if it needed to thaw...but it still didn’t feel like blowing cool air. So, after debating with myself how much I could stand, I quickly decided that it wasn’t worth sweating all night. I packed up some sheets, a blanket, my essentials (iPod, books, notebook, alarm clock, etc), and the air mattress...and headed over to my parents now-empty house. I spent the night in my original room, because my old room…was…flickering O..o Should probably mention that to Dad next time he’s down...

So, I set my alarm early so that I could gather my things (minus my air matress and sheets and stuff) and head back home this morning. I fixed my hair, got ready, brushed my teeth...and then realized that it was going to get much hotter if I cooked breakfast. So I figured, I was ready, why not head out now and have breakfast at Burger King. I love the sausage egg and cheese croissant. And with a BK Mocha Joe? Forget about it. So that was my breakfast. And since I’m sleepy and all, and I can’t do much within the hour I have left, I just decided to head to work early.

Oh yeah...and I’m 25 today. That’s kinda a big deal, right? I get a little break on my insurance at least. I honestly have no plans...I was gonna go to the sushi bar tonight, but…well, AC breaking down, and all the mail that was scattered about and just not delivered last month? Yeah, that means all my bills are doubled up this month. Joy. So, yeah. I’m definitely postponing any actually birthday celebrations…at least till Nov. 21st :D

….Mmm…grapes. Someone brought a fruit tray to a party we had. These grapes are pretty awesome. Oh wait…I was gonna talk about something else…Oh yeah. So Chibi and Jen-Lyn’s presents are all ready to go out. I just need to make time at some point to get them down to FedEx (or UPS, whichever’s closer and more convenient). I’ll figure it out eventually…tiredness. Oh well. Must get back to work – if only to stay awake @_@

…Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - Drama!)

Holy Crow, and Super Pig! S’been a while…um, updates are…Ike was terrible in the way the Rita was terrible. Gustav and Ike were very much like Katrina and Rita. Gustav had terribly high winds and storm surge, but Ike had a storm surge too! And the rain! Half of my backyard was underwater. My yard almost dried up, but then more rain came yesterday…so yeah. Back to the mud pit takes on a whole different meaning.

Power, running water and internet…we have that, but no cable still. Some people have gotten it back, but my cable’s pretty much been out since the 1st. There’s nothing to really do about it, because the crews are working as hard as they can and as fast as they can...it’s just an annoying dilemma. I totally missed the first episode of Supernatural, and I’m hesitant to buy it on iTunes...I bought all of season 3 on iTunes, and even if it made it easy for me to catch the episodes I missed, I still was a little less enthusiastic about the 3rd seasons box set when I actually got it. I haven’t gotten the second season of Heroes yet either (trying to save money) either…I know I’m going to miss the third season opener – or at least I’m preparing myself for that since I don’t think I’ll have cable by then. /sigh. what a mess these hurricanes are.

I finally placed an order with Amazon.com the other day (I had a $24 gift certificate too…which…I don’t understand, but thanks to whoever got that for me!). So now, my list of gifts has included Scamp’s Birthday and Christmas presents (which I’ve had for a long time now), Part of Dad’s Christmas present, Jen-Lyn’s birthday and Christmas presents (I got more than one, so I just figure I’ll call them both) and Chibi’s Birthday Present. I still need to buy Christmas presents for Mom, Chibi and Reiko...But, I’m working on it.

Big dent in my money – Reiko called me yesterday saying she’d found a shop in New Orleans (or somewhere) that had her perfect wedding dress and perfect bride’s maid dresses. I needed to call them, before 4 pm that day, and give them my measurements in order to not have a rush order and pay $40 more. Oh, and of course, it’s my job to throw the bachelorett party…which would be just fine if that meant that I had to invite girls over, decorate my house, and put on Supernatural, but I have this bad feeling that Reiko will want alcohol involved, and I’m not up on buying booze so…yeah. I may just buy the decorations I was looking at and tell everyone BYOB if you must. Pull out the futon and air mattresses and let everyone sleep over…….oh, also, I’m designing her wedding invitations. I’ve done it before, but never someone who was so important to me. I really hope I can give her what she wants.

Dad finally came in from offshore. What a fiasco that was. I’ve never hated a company so much in my whole life. He had been told to drive to Lafayette, LA when Lafayette was being evacuated thanks to Gustav, right? Well, they rerouted him to Houston, TX, and flew him out to Mexico from there. When he come in, they brought him to New Orleans, then fueled up the plain again to fly him to Memphis, TN (Quoi?) and then back to Lafayette, LA, where he had to catch a hot-shot drive to Houston, TX………….WTF, People!? Seriously! Is that not crazy? He finally called me around 10 pm Monday night saying that he was safely at his truck in Houston, and that he’d be driving over to my place. I told him I’d leave the door unlocked for him. It’s a good thing I did, because he didn’t get in till about 3 am.

He spent the next two days helping me buy some groceries (my fridge was virtually bare), mowing the lawn, fixing busted pipes, and mending the roof to both our houses. I mentioned to him about this printer I’ve been having my eye on. It’s the
Kodak EasyShare 5500, which I’d seen advertised one day. Sure it’s a great printer and everything, but what really got me interested in it was the fact that the black ink cartridge is $9.99 and the color is like $14.99 – together you can get them for $22.99. And that’s an amazing savings right there. Plus it’s a superior printing product. So, after I’d told him about it (Because I knew Mom needed a new printer too) he says, “Well, you’ve got my credit card. Why don’t you just put it on the credit card and buy that?” So that’s my birthday present from my parents. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

A couple of nights ago, I read a lot of the Twilight saga before bed. Then I had a dream about it...and it wouldn’t go away. So, I decided to write a Twilight fan fic…Which is both wonderful and terrible at the same time. If only I could channel my inspiration and just work on my original story! But, alas! I must write within a world of hot vampires and werewolves…../sarcasm. woe unto me. I’m surprised at how quickly it’s coming though...maybe because I’m making myself get into the characters and stare at the computer screen…really flushing out what I want from this story and who the characters are and all that jazz. I have 2 chapters and one prologue...it’s all small stuff…but then again that last little fic I wrote about my and my cousin’s WoW characters was small too….maybe I’m expecting too much of myself. Maybe I should focus on smaller chapters. /shrug. who knows. Either way, at least my creativity is going and not dead.

Work’s been work….it has actually been somewhat bearable if only because it’s all-consuming. I work on a mountain of files and don’t notice what time it is for hours. I find myself saying things like, “Whoa…it’s already 12 (3, 5)?” It’s actually pretty awesome. Oh, and you know what else is awesome? For the week of the 1st through the 5th (you know, when Gustav hit and power was out and all that?) my boss is paying us without taking away from our vacation/sick time. How cool is that? My bosses rock.

….what else is there to talk about? Hmm….well, I finally got back on WoW the other night…well, night before too. I got together with my cousin and we did some RP. But last night, I took Agaruwen to ….wherever she was before I stopped playing =..= I don’t even remember the name of the place! I might’ve played for about an hour...just doing the quests she had and all. But without anyone there to talk to, it’s sort of boring, so...it wasn’t long before I called it a night. Still. At least I’m playing a bit.

…Kinda feel a little pleased with myself. I woke up this morning, put on a pot of coffee, swept my kitchen, washed the dishes and set the clothes to washing….now, I really should go and have some breakfast =..=

Later, Sunshines.

On a rainy day: you should spend the day reading

Harvest Moon

P.S. Most awesomest icon EVER! Dramatic Dean – dun dun dun!!!!

msmoon: (RVB - Caboose Hamster)

Isn't it always funny how things can change and all that? I am finally home. And…I have internet…but not cable. I’m more grateful for the internet, let me tell you. I’ll take a connection to friends and the entire world over mindless media and entertainment that I cannot control any day.

So, I’m finally home…and still not quite unpacked. I had to stop by Reiko’s on the way to pick up AMOS and my movies. Of course, when you’re coming back from a trip (especially when you shop as much as I did =..=) you tend to be taking more back with you than you originally had. So, I had to leave one box behind…no room for it in the car =..= It was mostly my many box sets and since Reiko doesn’t have cable either AND no internet on top of that, she could seriously use the diversion. Plus, I know she’ll take good care of them (or it’s her ass).

Also, I’m so very very sick. I think it’s just a head cold, but it’s making me miserable either way. No worries though! I’ve got Nyquil and Dayquil to help me...though, they only really relieve my symptoms for about 4 hours before I feel miserable again. Still, what more could a body ask for? As sick as I am, Mom was much worse when I left her. She caught a bad stomach, just like I told you, but she was all congested before that, so she’s fighting the same symptoms as I am ….plus the stomach virus. With her previous exposure to hepatitis B…well, her immune system is nonexistent. She takes forever to recover from these things.

Much too late to report in to work at this point of course, so I’ll be in bright and early tomorrow. You’ll be glad to know I was grounded enough that I didn’t simply rush over and install my computer first thing. No, my clothes has been put on to wash (after the towels were put on to dry), and mean while, I unpacked the entire car, unloading food items into the fridge first. Of course, the only thing in my fridge at this point is candy, soda, milk (questionable though it may be), hazelnut coffee creamer and sandwich meat. I will need to restock soon…

Now though, I do have internet, and the computer is up and running. Perhaps a bad idea to come down…what with Hurricane Ike RIGHT BELOW ME!!...but….the boss called Tuesday. Asked when I was coming back and wondering if I could make it sooner than later. So yeah. I’m back…for better or for worse. My house is awesome. I’m sick. And I’m going in to work tomorrow. But…it’s just Friday…so at least it’ll be jeans day and I won’t have to worry about when I get a break, right? The winds are pretty bad out right now, and it’s been drizzling off and on. Thanks bunches, Ike. Feel free to just pass on by without stopping.

…It’s so good to be home. I can’t wait till I settle back into it. I’m gonna go take some more meds or…maybe just blow my nose or something. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

God Love OCD Friends

2008-Sep-08, Monday 06:30 pm
msmoon: (Warcraft - Friends)

4 days later, and hello again from Harrison =..= Yeah...

So…Reiko and he dad left…Friday? Saturday? God, I don’t even know…I’m pretty certain it was Friday though. Anyhoo. Yeah, she officially hates Arkansas…but I’m sure they’ll reconcile eventually.

Saturday was a blur of activity. Mom and I went to town, because oddly enough, I wanted to shop for clothes. I bought one pair of dress pants, two casual pants/shorts, and about 7 or 8 really great shirts. Then we went next door to Pay Less, and Mom got me some shoes. Or at least that was the idea. There was a buy one get one half off sale going on, so we were trying to balance things…in the end, I got 5 pairs of shoes and she got one…yeah...hardly seems fair. But she was in a generous mood, and I was feeling adventurous. So there ya go.

We had gotten calls Saturday from family and friends reporting damage and trying to reassure us that our houses were mostly alright. In fact, my parent’s old house is in worse shape than mine. I got a call...Some time Saturday, from Reiko. She asked me if I wanted her to go over and clean our my fridge for me. See, hurricane hits, right? Yeah, well, bad one comes and the power goes out. Power stays out for a long time with no generator….everything in your fridge congeals and then slowly melts. You’ve got a great amount of sludge leaking out of your refrigerator and freezer. We all know this. It’s a harsh part of living that far south. Anyway, Mom said that one of my cousins had gone over there, and she’d said that she would clean out our fridges. She called back to say that my house didn’t even smell bad or anything. So, I told Reiko, thanks but someone beat you to the punch. Well, she decided to go and check everything out anywayz, since she knows where all my spare keys are and everything.

She called back a little while later saying that my house smelled like ass. She checked my fridge and there was no cleaning done at all. So, she asked where my garbage bags and cleaner were, and I told her. A little while later, she called back and said that she was officially not hungry, that she cleaned everything out of my fridge (except candy and soda), and then she cleaned the fridge…and then, she hauled everything that resembled trash to the road, along with what few branches she could manage! Then, she went next door to my parents place and did the same thing for them!...you know, I know she’s bored and all, but she didn’t really have to do that. There are friends that you have to ask favors of, and then there are friends who just go above and beyond...Reiko is definitely that.

After she went back to her dad’s place, I thought of something. Ike. Yeah…big mess all over again. And it’s headed in our direction…again. So, I texted her, asking ‘how much do you love me?’. She replied with ‘oh, God. What?’ and I asked if she would mind going to my house and making sure my computer tower, books and DVDs were safely stored upstairs. She asked if I wanted her to pack up my movies and computer tower, and I was like ‘If you don’t mind…’ because I don’t know if Ike is going to hit around my area or not, but at the very least those things are protected. She enlisted some…help. And she went over to my place. I got a call from her… “You have power! Son of a-!!!“ So…power was restored to my house Sunday…obviously. She asked if I minded her staying there (since there’s air and she’s been such a help and all), and I told her I didn’t. She packed up all my movies, my computer tower and the box of pictures ranging within the last 50 years that my parents left with me. She called me later on to say that she had gotten extremely bored, and that she ended up cleaning my entire house….yeah…the whole thing. Then she said “I hope you don’t mind…but I took a shower.” And I’m like….”?...no. I don’t mind.” I mean… seriously. It’s not like I’m there to enjoy the power and all so…she might as well.

So, last night, she packed almost all of my valuables up (let’s face it…no one would be able to pack up my books. So I’m sort of satisfied with them being protected inside the shelves of my bed =..= I’ll have to be), cleaned my house, and had a movie marathon. Today, she’s meeting up with her Dad again and they’re going to her house in Hammond…then it’s evacuation blues all over again. Seriously? I’m so ready to go back to my house...

Oh yeah. Today was…long. Mom woke me up, yelling for me, around 8. She asked me to take her in to the emergency room. She said she’d been feeling so sick since about 3 in the morning (I scolded her for not waking me sooner). She let me get ready, and then we were out the door. I told her to give me some directions (we were in Sheila), and around 9:15, they finally got her a room. At 11:30, they determined (after several blood panels, a urine test, and some x-rays) that she merely had a virus. I brought her home and gave her some Ramen Noodle broth...and she took a benedril and went to bed. She slept till…oh…4 something. I’m pretty tired too, but I have a bad feeling about taking a nap. So, I’ve decided to stay up…till tonight after I shower, when I shall promptly fall into bed.

I’m hoping that if Ike does hit near my home, the damage won’t be too bad…or that it’ll be a very weak, fast-moving storm. I really…really…want to go home. I guess that’s all for now though. I gotta get back to Mom. I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Slayers - Bawl)

And hello, from a very safe Harrison, Arkansas (the state of bordum, not to be confused with the state of panic – Louisiana – or the state of disaster – Florida). As much as I’d love to say that the entire visit here has been wonderful and I’ve been loving every second, it wouldn’t entirely be true. Yes, I’m loving the time I spend here with my parents (though sometimes it does get boring watching the weather channel); however, I must say, you leave home for a little surprise birthday/vacation thingy, and all hell breaks loose! Ever since I left, I’ve been getting calls from everyone asking where I am and if I know that Gustav is heading straight for my house (the bastard. Doesn’t he know is rude not to drop by when people aren’t at home?). So, while my time here has been wonderful, there is a shadow still lingering, what with my childhood home being threatened along with everything I own, and everyone I love.

In really good news, Mom loved her surprise (as I knew she would). She even liked her present (the hummingbird earrings). But she really loved me showing up. I left my house around 3:30 a.m. Thursday and I arrived at my parents’ place around 2:55. Almost 12 hours...and boy did my backside really feel the strain of the journey (and my back, and shoulders and arms and legs..). After getting everything unloaded from the car and settling in and eating a bit (I hadn’t actually eaten since 6:45 that morning =..=), we met up with their friends (who also happen to be the pastor and his wife) and headed down to the Buffalo River. It was cool, but refreshing to be weightless after all those hours of sitting in the car and…feeling weighty XD. We frolicked around for a while, and waded, and just sat in chairs in the middle of the water, just enjoyed ourselves. Then it was back home. Not much else happened that night.

Yesterday, we woke up to the weather channel, Gustav, and everyone we knew in that area either calling us or being called by us to ask about plans. We had planed on going to Branson, MO to celebrate Mom’s birthday. You know, walk around, see the sights, window shop, take in a show and eat some good food. We didn’t leave till 1ish. The car ride nearly made me sick too.. but we got there, and found that Gracie (my parents’ Garmin GPS) is amazing for finding exactly what we want. We used her quite often. We went to the IMAX which had a bunch of small stores inside it. Dad ended up buying Mom a fancy-dancy clock that plays different songs and lights up at each hour (but has a light sensor, so it won’t at night). Then we went to the Bass Pro shop...just to look around. We went to see the Presleys’ Show…the Presleys’ Country Jamboree...I’m a little wary about anything with the word “Jamboree” in it…but what the hay. It’s for Mom anyway. It was amusing, but…not really my scene. But I wasn’t there for me, right?

I’m really getting mixed reports...yesterday, Scamp had told me that she and her family were evacuating north, but today Mom said that Aunt Jane said they’re staying in Lafayette (all of 20 minutes away from where they actually live). Of course, according to all the reports gas is scarce, and all hotels in north LA have been booked up. Reiko was all freaked, because they’re making her work at PetSmart, even though the city is under mandatory evacuation. Yeah...she says she going to leave for Conway, AR today after work. She’s already moved everything essential from the first story of her apartment to the second story, so she’ll just pack everything else (her animals and what she needs) and head up on back roads.

In a way, I’m glad I got out early, because everything’s going to hell now – what with the interstates being backed up and all. But…I really wish I could’ve had more time to move my stuff around, or pack it up and bored up the windows =..= Still, there’s no use worrying about it now. Just have to wait it all out and then see what the damage is later. As of now, I have no idea when I’ll be heading back up. Dad was supposed to leave tomorrow morning early sometime to be heading back off shore...and he has no idea what his company is going to want him to do, because...well, his company isn't the greatest humanitarian group. Gustav is supposed to hit sometime Monday or Tuesday, and from what I know, they’re blocking all roads leading south (as in to South LA…where my home is =..=). I know that we won’t exactly be having work...but that we’re expected to call in to the voice mail and see if there are messages O..o yeah…whatever. Anyway, plans for traveling back are uncertain. The only plans we really have are those for today (we’ll worry about tomorrow when it gets here). We’re going to go shopping at Wal-Mart, and then my parents are going to a party tonight (but I’m going to stay home and read).

I didn’t bring enough cough drops ~..~ Talk to ya’ll later, Sunshines.

Today the revelation that is shoes has descended upon me. Today, as I was getting ready, I noticed I looked so different even though I was wearing the same outfit I’d worn that looked so…good. Today, I was wearing my WoW hunter shirt and my dark jeans, but it didn’t look as nice as when I’d worn it last time. That’s when I realized. I’m wearing my sneakers, but if I were wearing my black high heels, it’d look nice. Thus…the power of shoes.

In other news…we finally have my computer desk assembled. It was the night that my dad flooded the backroom -..- Interesting experience. You know, if you let water sit on crappy fau-hardwood, it gets underneath it and then starts oozing out and then it makes the floor buckle…/sigh. Dad was upset about that, but I tried to brush it off saying I wasn’t too worried about the floor in my backroom. But, that’s another discussion I suppose. We got the desk put together in about an hour and a half. It was not fun by any means. As we would sit down on the floor, water would ooz up and soak us. Not cool. The whole way through Dad complained that the desk was a piece of crap, which it’s cheap compressed wood so I assumed it would be. I just want something that’s small and cheap that’d work. But it’s up. Dad said he’d bring my computer over the next day while I was at work…he did, except he forgot to bring the wires that connect it -..- I was gonna take the pictures of my Christmas tree off my camera card and put it on the computer and then onto my jump drive, but it’ll have to wait. I kinda figured, maybe I should just wait till I have all the decorations up, because I really want to decorate.

In other news...I’m done Christmas shopping. Seriously done. Put a fork in me done. Ok, so there are a few little things I’d like to pick up, but I’ve gotten everyone covered. Chibi is supposed to come down for the 17th and 18th; I have that scheduled off; I’ve told Reiko I will pay for her gas for her to come; and, I’ve asked Scamp to come too. I’ve got the gifts for Mom, Dad, Bub, Jen-Twin, Chibi, Reiko, and Scamp…I got for decorations today; garlands, candy canes and the like. And I’m gonna start getting my Christmas cards together…let me say this once…

If you want me to send you a Christmas card, e-mail your address to MoonGarGirl@yahoo.com. Thanks for giving me something to do that keeps me off the streets ^..^

Oh yeah…Kamilla, the girl that took Ashly’s place, has turned in her two-week notice. Not that it’d be worth while to come back at all, since she’s been sick all this week and took off all next week. Her last day is the 19th, so I’m going to be doing her job as well as mine, while the others look for a replacement =..=..grr.

I have such a headache. I think it might be from the root beer. Too much sweets and caffeine and I get a headache. Oh well. I’ll talk at ya’ll later. Later, Sunshines.

Weekend Washout...

2007-Nov-26, Monday 02:04 pm
msmoon: (BC - You gotta be kidding)
26 years old…That’s how old the pipes to my hot water heater are. You know the biggest problem with fixing something that old is? At least for my Dad. You never can just take stuff apart and put it back together, expecting it to work better than it did when you hadn’t touched it. I spent most of Friday afternoon, helping Dad mop up in the back room and hastily moving everything as far away from the hot water heater as I could. Then, once Dad had “fixed” it, I came to survey everything. “Do you hear something?” I asked. The pipes inside the wall were leaking =..= So, Dad had to pull a part of the outside paneling off to tend to those pipes. Now he’s saying he’s going to replace those pipes. So, that’s what he’s doing today…replacing pipes =..=

Then, Saturday night, don’t ask me how this happened because I’ve no idea. But, I was trying to jump up and swat something off of my lights that were hanging from my beams. Well, I don’t know how it happened but I hurt my left shoulder. I mean…bad. There was no comfortable position to favor it in, it was just serious pain. Well, I’ve sorta resolved that it’s going to hurt and if it doesn’t get better by morning I’ll have to talk to Mom and Dad about going to a doctor or something. Anyway. I went to lie down in bed and read a bit. Then after a while, I realized I needed to get something downstairs...so I roll out of bed….and accidentally slam my (hurt) shoulder against the wall. It was like a huge bruise and it nearly brought tears to my eyes. But then, I rotated my shoulder…and it felt fine. It felt great! I was so happy because the pain was gone!...and then I was like. ..”….wha? O..o’” when I talked it over with my Dad, he said I probably popped my shoulder out of socket and ramming into the wall put it back into place…I told Scamp about it and she agreed, to which I crowed “I’m Xena!”

Oh yeah, I went to Scamp’s yesterday (Sunday). I figured, I probably wouldn’t feel up to driving over there Wednesday (on her actual Birthday) to give her her presents, so it’s be better if I just went down early. I took the camera and recorded her opening her gifts, which she loved. We (Dad and I) couldn’t stay for too long, but we did manage to stay for a little while and talk. But then it was back home. We drove over there, and all the way it rained terribly. The way back wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t clear either.

And over my lunch break, I spent the time revising my Manga Wish List. I only have 2 pages of Manga up there, but it occurred to me that both The Devil Does Exist and W Juliet have been completed, so I could add all of them and put them in order on my wish list. Of course that made me check to see how many Fruits Basket editions were available and putting them up there and in order. Along with placing the two most important sets Return to Labyrinth and Alice 19th at the very beginning of the list. I already own the first 4 volumes of Alice 19th, 3 volumes of Fruits Basket, and 2 volumes of the Devil Does Exist. I really need to get W Juliet...and buy all of that and DDE. /sigh. There’s lots of stuff I need to do, it seems. I should probably tell my parents to just get me a gift certificate to Amazon for Christmas =..= That I will definitely go to good use.

Ohh…lunch break is almost over…I hurt. My back hasn’t been letting me sit easily. I think it might be this stupid chair. It’d figure. Oh well. Back to work I go. Later, Sunshies.

Giddy Geek Rants

Suddenly, I’d kill for some Sunflower seeds. Don’t ask me why, but when the craving strikes, it strikes. I just finished eating and for some odd reason, I just want some.

So hi. How’s everyone been? That’s great. Not that I’d actually get a reply here or anything. But, I hope I’d be told if anything weren’t going ok.

Things have been going ok for me too. For the first time since the gathering, I actually talked to my Twin. It all started...I think it was Tuesday night. I got the Mortal Kombat – Annihilation CD soundtrack in. I went about my day, showered, watched Bones (which was awesomness, btws) and then got ready for bed. I popped the new CD into my radio, intending to give it a little listen before bed. ZOMG…it was wonderfulness. I was so happy with the 80’s Techno/Rockish stuff that littered the CD, I ended up calling all my friends (that’s right, all 4 of them) and leaving voice-mails with each one. I and my goofy self happily told them that I was so effing happy about this new CD with its wonderful 80’s techno mastery that I could cry. Of course, by the time my twin called me back I had realized that my phone was about to die, so I shut it off and went to bed, settling for listening to my new CD with my headphones. I called her back the next day on my lunch break and we just talked. It’s been forever since I haven’t had access to the internet like I usually do.

...Not that it’s stopped Reiko from IMing me on Yahoo while I’m at work...when she saw that I was checking my mail, she messaged me, and we actually talked for a little while…funky no? Yeah.

Also, Dad and I finally got the little lantern lights up in my house. They look great and I adore them so much. Even if two of them are broken =..= It’s ok. They look great.

Also, I contacted Kth-dragon, who I’d met at the Gathering. She’s an artist that I bought a print from. She’s really great at animal anatomy and making things look real and functional, so I thought that I should go and ask her to do some of my more complex animal-ish drawings. I already sent 4 descriptions to her so we’ll see how that goes. I’m very excited and optimistic.

Also, if anyone wants to see pictures of my house, I have them over at my photo buck. Go look here. I’ll update that as I feel the need to. I still have a lot of work to do in the backroom/computer room, but for now it just has the fire bead-door over it and it’s a junk room.

I guess that’ll be all from me now, beings as my lunch break is soon-to-be over, and I’ve nothing else really worth talking about. So, catch you later, Sunshines.

Slow Week

msmoon: (Firefly - Messy)
Yay, for a simpler way to choose layouts. Way to go LJ! Oh, and I really love this layout. The only thing I don’t like is the way the mood and song are at the bottom of the entry. I really wish that were at the top. I’ll keep trying it out and if it doesn’t bother me too much, I’ll keep it.

So, my dad finished loading all my books into my house before I even got home. My book room is a total mess, but it’s alright. At least until I get my desk in. I don’t know when that’ll happen. I don’t even know if it’s been shipped yet. I imagine it hasn’t though. Every other order that I made went out pretty quickly (save new releases which take forever to get sent out), but this one is totally dragging its feet. I have a sinking feeling that the sale might not go through for whatever reason. The only time a seller doesn’t contact you for such an extended amount of time is when they no longer have the product you ordered. If it doesn’t go through, I’ll just buy something in town.

In other news, my cousin is having some weird troubles in WoW…I almost feel bad about that, but honestly I know it’s nothing of my own doing. People tend to complicate everything.

/sigh. I’m so ready to go home and start my weekend. This whole week has been just long. I cleaned out Linkon and Blinkon’s tanks yesterday (and nearly gave them both heart-attacks, poor things). But, that’s done. I start laundry tonight (if it kills me) and tomorrow I do the floors. There’s little else to do other than that. I do the dishes as I need to, so there’s no designated day for that. I’ve only had this job for little over a year, and I’m already complaining? I should start saving for retirement now, huh? Yeah.

Oh well. Enough bitchin’ from me. I’ll go ahead and sign off now. Later, Sunshines.

A Supernatural Shock

2007-Oct-25, Thursday 03:57 pm
msmoon: (Supernatural - ...?)
My Dad said that he’s going to start the daunting task of hauling my books into the backroom of my house. There are 2 big boxes and 2 long bins...that’ll be challenging. Now I just need shelves to put them on =..= /pout. Nothing ever really falls into place, it seems. My house looks a littler more bear now, if only because I loaned out a bunch of my “oriental” items to my cousin, who’s doing the “Far East” in the church’s Night for Missions thing. I gotta charge up Zeiss and see what it looks like.

Supernatural’s tonight! I cannot wait. The last episode wasn’t exactly…well. It was funny, but it was more funny than thrilling so I wasn’t as enthused. But, just watching this week’s preview made me anxious for it, so I’m hoping that’ll be good.

Oh, yeah. My Dad just informed me that he had a bunch of safety points saved up with his company. So he ordered me a 4GB iPod nano O..O Shock, anyone? Now I just have to figure out how to operate said thingy (whenever it comes in).

I got nothing else to say really….Work’s been long and slow all week…I doubt it’ll get different tomorrow with it being the last day before freedom. Le Sigh.

Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Warcraft - Yawn)
I’ve been taking long sabbaticals from LJ land, haven’t I? I just can’t seem to force myself to write a post. For one, it’s aggravating to try it at the house (our AOL dial up connection moves at the speed of a wounded snail), and at work I am…well, generally busy working. My lunch breaks are spent checking mail, reading and day dreaming over my meal. Either way, I never have time to write much less post. Or maybe I'm just lazy...or lazier than usual ^..^

I have been writing more at my house concerning my original story. It’s somewhat cool to turn off my TV and all the lights down stairs, hike upstairs, plug in my fan, put on some music and just write. Especially when I actually have new ideas. I still have quite a bit of work to do, beings as mostly the ideas I have don’t come to me in sequential order and I’d be a fool not to write some of them out before I loose them. But, progress is progress…right?

Plenty of stuff has been happening in my house, it’s just that most of it is mundane stuff but since it’s a first for me I find it interesting. I did an absolute, thorough clean on my house this past weekend along with going grocery shopping for the first time, which I found oddly invigorating. For one, I don’t really have to worry about sweeping (which was a serious pain in my ass…and back) with Harvey (my new Roomba ^..^). I just charge him up, make sure there’s no clutter on the floor and then tell him to clean, and I’m good. I was very surprised when my Dad paid for my groceries O..o’ It allowed me to purchase my Computer Desk. That means I’m a step closer to having my computer in my computer/library room. That’s a big plus.

Last Friday, I finally managed to send my Twin-san her birthday gift, in hopes that she would receive it today. I don’t think anyone knows the pride I put into my gifts. I just love the wrapping and presenting about as much as I love picking out the gifts. Anyway, according to UPS, she should get it today…if not, then they’re haters. I can’t wait to hear what she thinks of it. I still haven’t heard from Chibi about her birthday present.

At some point...I don’t remember exactly when, I joined my cousin’s forum. Just for the fun of it. So now, not only to I manage my own “Friends Only” forum (which is slowly dying), but I’m a part of a Fable based forum. Don’t ask me what possessed me to join. Maybe I just got tired of hearing about all these people on the forum that Scamp kept telling me about, and wanted to see for myself. Who knows.

Oh, I finally got Transformers in yesterday. I was very happy about that, and I watched as much bonus stuff as I could before Heroes came on. I’ve watched all of the bonus stuff now, and when Dad came over for a cup of coffee this morning, I showed him the beginning. The part where Blackout (Badass) is attacking that military base, then I just stopped it in hopes the suspense would make him want to continue watching. Being the old fashion type he is, he has not even heard of Transformers (toys, show, movie or otherwise). I’m hoping that some time this week we can all bunker down at my house and watch it together.

We had an absolute deluge yesterday...all day long. It did not stop raining all day long. We were under a constant flood watch and at times we were even under tornado watches. Driving home, I swear that I did not go over 45 MPH. Most of the way, I was going a steady 35-40, and everyone else was keeping pace with me. I counted 3 accidents all over town too. The flooding was pretty bad in the streets, but I was just grateful that everyone else was taking it as seriously. I have to admit though…I do love that type of weather, so I wasn’t terribly put out by it. It just aggravates me when people do stupid things at such times. Oh, and another thing I learned about my house is that when there’s constant raining out, the bath tub does not drain quite as quickly as normal.

On a completely random tangent, I was very upset to find that O-Zone’s Numa Numa song is no where to be found on Yahoo music. Since I realized I could listen for free, I’ve been doing a lot of rating and listening to my own station (which is just as random and eclectic as me), but the only O-zone song they have is Ma Ya Hi in English….I want the original version in it’s original language. Is that too much to ask? Not that it stops me from singing along when the English version pops up mind you. But still.

And with that, I must end my lunch break. I shall check in whenever I can. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

I am alive, I swear

2007-Oct-12, Friday 12:47 pm
msmoon: (Warcraft - Friends)
Wow. What a weekend. I felt like I was dashing about madly all last week. And I’ve been either so tired or so busy this week, I haven’t had time to even write about it.

We didn’t exactly sleep in Saturday. I believe it was around 8 when we got up. While I’m used to sleeping in till around 9/10, I knew I’d need time to wake up, and then I’d be off to town to pick up the trays I’d ordered with a few drinks.

And that’s pretty much exactly how it happened. I learned that if you’re going to pay for a tray for a party, they start at a bare minimum of $40. Sam’s gave us a nice croissant sandwich tray, and from Chick-Fil-A we got the Large cheesecake tray (sinfulness, anyone?).

We actually had everything ready around 12; partially because I’m OCD that way & partially because Misty had said she needed to come early. In fact, everyone showed up late. Reiko had called around 12, telling us she’d be a little late. Dena, one of our three nurses, showed up first around 2:20 with her two daughters Erin & Casey. Reiko followed around 2:30, & Lori and Lenda (our other two nurses) showed up around 2:45. Misty and Lacey did not attend.

I welcomed everyone, gave a small tour, had Happy Birthday sung to me, talked, opened gifts and then let Reiko take over the entertainment...which worked well, since she has no shame ^..^

Over all, my gifts include a $90 Wal-Mart gift card from my CoWorkers, 1 plant shipped over via delivery service from my boss, 2 movies (While you were Sleeping & The Princess Bride) from Chibi, 1 painted pony and a beta fish from Reiko, a Moon fairy figure from Scamp, the Black Beauty figure from my Twin, and 2 Beta fish in a beautiful bowl with a calla lily on top and a rock fountain from Mom. O..O Pretty decent birthday haul if I do say so myself. I named my three betas Lincoln, Blinkon and Nodd (Lynx, Blinky and Noddy).

Sunday was crash day. I remember very little about Sunday when I first think about it. I know we went to Taco Bell after church, then I blew my gift card @ Wal-Mart. Aside from the many groceries (and a new bowl for Noddy), I got a bunch of movies which include: 300, The Prestige, Transformers the Movie, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Ghost Rider, and Labyrinth. Indeed, not a bad haul at all ^..^ After we got back, Scamp showed me Fable, which I think, if I had the computer game, I’d like.

We then watched Labyrinth...which put the Goblin King on my ‘List of Guilty Pleasures’. This movie quickly became another one of my obsessions. I should’ve known I’d love it since I love all things Jim Hinson. But honestly, David Bowie is not on my list of hot guys, but damn! Him as Jareth I’ll take any day. I think it’s the cool clothes and makeup/hair...especially those pants...I told the girls at work that I watched it 3 times before I really looked at his face. I mean seriously, either those pants are super spandex two sizes too small or someone invested in a very large potato…

Monday wasn’t my best day. I wasn’t really feeling well, poor Noddy finally kicked the bucket (R.I.P., Noddy =..=’), and we took Scamp to be picked up by her parents. After that, I came home, showered and watched Labyrinth in Japanese. What? I said it was a new obsession!

Tuesday was a dull blur. Even my coworkers pointed out that I’ve been extremely quiet. Wednesday, I bought 3 LSU shirts, beings as we’ve officially switched from wearing Saints shirts on Friday. I also bought proper food for Lynx and Blinky, along with water diclorinator. And my Roomba came in. I’ve named him Harvey ^..^

Last night, I finally got all my movies over from my Mom’s house. I went through them, and what I could put in the stand, I did…then I realized (after seeing there was about 20 movies that wouldn’t fit), that they would fit perfectly between the sloping wall and the floor…so I stacked them that way…….it looked kinda cool. With my new movies, I now have about 139 movies in my movie collection (and that doesn’t include my Anime/Box set collection).

I actually love living alone. I’m sure at some point I’ll get tired of it, but as for right now…I’m enjoying my house. After work today, I’ll be doing some laundry (towels & sheets I hope), taping some more of Supernatural - season 2 for my cousin, and picking up wires and clutter so that Harvey can do his first job and vacuum my living room. I’m just glad it’s Friday. And that’s all for now, sunshines. Later.

You Could Be a Vampire... If You Had To

Like most people, the thought of being a vampire has crossed your mind. But you're not sure if you'd do it, even if you could.

Living forever doesn't sound half bad, if you could live forever with the people you love the most.

But do vampires even love? And would the vampire version of you even be you?

It's all too much to contemplate. Luckily, the chances of you ever becoming a vampire are astronomically low.

What you would like best about being a vampire: Living forever

What you would like least about being a vampire: Blood stained teeth

What a day...

Yesterday was…interesting. I finally made that forum. I am now the Administrator for Creativity Crackers. I gotta say, so far, I like the service. I’m still not confident enough in my capabilities as an administrator to put a section up for our writings, but there are other subjects that I can test out first to see if I really know what I’m doing. Either way, better safe than sorry.

Our boss decided to “surprise” us by buying us lunch from this nice place. Then she shows up and starts handing out bonus checks to us O..O That was a very nice surprise. Of course, with the Nexus and all, it’s practically gone already. I think that will really help me get that Roomba vacuum thing ^..^

Mom called and told me not to buy anything for supper because she and Dad had gone somewhere and were bringing me something. Then she tells me that after I get off of work I need to meet Dad at Wal-Mart, to buy curtain rods. So, after work I headed over there and met Dad. I have 4 windows (+ 1 nook to hide), and we got 4 curtain rods. I think I’m going to have to get a simple rod for the nook because most of them seem too big. Also, instead of a black-out shade, I’m thinking of just getting blinds for the windows. I need something to block them other than the curtains, and blinds are more practical than shades I suppose. I’d still like a black-out shade upstairs, but I’ve yet to find one =..=

Anyway, I went home and it was about 6 now, so we sat down and watch AFV. Then I went home and watched some of Bones – Season 2 until Dad came over. He wanted to check to see exactly where I wanted each curtain rod (because they’re all different). He asked me to switch it to Dancing with the Stars, which is something he and Mom loves. I never really was very interested...and when I saw someone dancing the Mambo to Nelly’s ‘Ride Wit Me’, I was even less enthusiastic about it. I just can’t wait to see The Soup now ^..^

Dad stayed for a little while to arrange the curtain rods and then he was off. I finished the episode of Bones that I had been watching, and then it was time for Heroes. Good episode…but it reminds me why I hate suspense. This show is all about suspense, but it does it so well that you forgive it for keeping you hanging. But still. My God, would something happen already.

After Heroes, I took my pills and then went upstairs. I sat in my comfy chair upstairs and …wait for it…proofread Chapter 1 of my story ^..^ I finished the rough draft Sunday, but I’d yet to go over it all. Now, I got out my red marker pen and I’m editing ^..^ I only got through the first 6 pages and then my pills kicked in. And it was already 10:30 so, I needed to hit the hay.

Somehow, having my house makes me feel better about myself...especially now that I have a routine down. My schedule hasn’t varied much from the norm, I’m just allowed to do whatever I want more freely and with more space. I find for the first time in a long time, I have something to watch literally every day of the work week. Monday is Heroes, Tuesday is Bones, Wednesday is America’s Next Top Model (not overly important, but still interesting), Thursday is Supernatural, and Friday is The Soup. Saturday is the only day I have nothing on...Sunday I do have Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and The Girls Next Door (also, not as important but still a hoot).

Now...I really should get to my lunch. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

At Laaaaaaast!

OMG, the whole weekend Comcast glitched our internet and we haven’t had any! sigh. Saturday…I finally moved into the Nexus ^..^ And I have spent the weekend in my own house! I was so excited and happy about that...of course, I couldn’t tell anyone because of the internet situation -..-

I only just got to go and check out Scamp’s Fabel’s Library of Arcanum Forum. It looks really cool! Better than that Invision Free site. Aside from the obvious questions (Is it easy to work with? And can you set your forum to private?) I’m thinking I might end up using that one for the forum that I want to make. I’m thinking of ripping her rules too, since they’re so...thorough. I think I’ll call the forum Creativity Crackers or maybe Creativity Crack-Ups would be better. But if it has anything to do with me and my group of friends, it’ll definitely have to have something to do with Creativity.

So, my first weekend in my house...it’s a tad of an adjustment. There’ve been surprises along the way; some good and some not so good. Saturday was move-in day, and after moving in so much stuff, I was just so tired and bruised. I sat in my big comfy chair watching first Heroes then Howl’s Moving Castle. Then, I went to take my shower, and after securing the door (as best I could), stripping out of my grimy, sweaty clothes, and making sure everything I had was where it needed to be…I took a shower…a very …very….cold shower. =..= That’s right, Mom turned off the hot water heater, and forgot to turn it back on. But after all that to get ready for the shower, I was not about to dry off, get out, get dressed and call the rents to politely ask ‘what the hell?!’ al la Kinsey. So I just took a cold shower. Then I put on fuzzy socks and brewed some coffee to warm up.

Some time during the shower, the neighbors on the street behind me decided to hold a bon fire/dance party, making it sound like there were natives doing some strange war dance in my back yard. They didn’t stop until around 11 that night.

My washing machine and toilet have a leak somewhere in their hoses, or so we thought. Dad determined that the leak for the washing machine was actually coming from the faucet and not the hose. So I’ll “just have to watch it”. The toilet’s hose doesn’t leak all the time, so I just have to keep a wash cloth on the ground where it drips =..=

There have been some good surprises. We assembled my TV stand and set up my TV on it with my VCR/DVD player. Then my Mom says “Well, hook it up to the cable, and maybe she’ll catch the first few channels or something.” So Dad hooks everything up to the cable and all…..and channel 42 is coming in nice and clear....<..<……..>..>……then we remembered that our renter was a cable dude, so he probably figured a way to steal our cable...and I have no idea how he did it…so I’ve no idea how to undo it…and quite frankly, I don’t care. I’m going to count that as a blessing and leave it at that. ^..^ Free cable, yay!

The only thing left to move in would be my futon, my end tables, my jewelry box, my dressers, which will go in that back room for holding office stuffs (but the one with all the drawers will act as a guest’s dresser), my clothes and my computer, which I have no idea when that’ll go in. I don’t intend to take all of my clothes mostly because I need to “spring clean” but also because the closet is in need of some…minor…repair.

I need to buy curtains and black out shades for the front windows and my bedroom window too. I also need a curtain for the little kitchen window and the bathroom nook where I have my toiletries, toilet brush and other unmentionables. I also would like to get some small stools for my little shelf/table.

I am so soar from moving so much in. But I can’t wait to get everything where it’s supposed to be ^..^ We still haven’t moved my books or my bins...I’ve been filling up a wal-mart bag with my movies every time that I visit my parents house. My DVD cabinet is almost full from all my box sets & anime, but that whirling DVD holding for my movies isn’t. And I can’t seem to find the second one that I bought…I know I didn’t take it out of the box /shrugs.

Oh, and I found out you can’t just pick up platters from Sam’s. You have to order them. So, this week some time I’ll be ordering a few platters from them (fruit and sandwich mostly, though I do plan on getting a cheese cake tray from Chick-Fil-A) ^..^

The only real down side is of course, that it really is easy to hear everything going on in every room. My watch has been beeping every hour on the hour, and I put it in my bathroom so that I wouldn’t hear it as I was sleeping. Then at 10 that night as I’m crawling into bed, I lay down and hear *BEEP* <..<…>..>…=..=’ Yeah.

Over all…I am thrilled with my house. It’s not perfect, but I would get freaked if it was. Upstairs, I have my bed, a lamp and a small chair right in front of my dresser/night stands. It’s a little crowded but it so cozy. As opposed to the living room which is very open with very little in it at all other than the chairs and TV. I like that though, because it distinguishes my space from entertainment/shared space. The kitchen and bathroom just have this...charisma about them with their themes and all. It’s just cute. The only room that’s still a blank slate is the back room...and since I can’t do much with it yet, I’m trying not to sweat that.

I’ve slowly been writing this between breaks through the whole day. So now I don’t have to worry about loosing my lunch break ^..^ Which is actually right now. Hope everyone else is doing as good as I am. Later, Sunshines!

Where to start? Where to start? Ok, let’s focus on the good stuff right now, shall we? Ok.

So, my house is so next to finished, it’s not even funny. My Dad’s supposed to finishing the base boards and shave some of the bottom of the door off so that it doesn’t drag along the floor, thus messing up my new floors. That’d be great. After that is done...I think that’s all till the house is ready for me to just move in. That’s good. Though I still have no idea when I’ll be moved in, though my best guess would be sometime between today and Monday ^..^ nice and broad; gives us a chance to screw up at something, repair it and then move on.

/random. I wonder if I could make my own forum and put it on lock so that only certain people could join and post….that would be most ideal.

Last night….I tried to watch Heroes. It was the season premier…and don’t you know, the NFL decided to have a Moday game. So instead of watching my show, I got to watch the Saints loose. Fan-Figgin-Tastic. I was so pissed at that…but I think they’re going to show it again Saturday. /sigh.

/random #2. I confess, that I don’t feel comfortable looking at anyone while I’m eating boudin. I know it’s not that I’m doing anything bad, but the way you eat it is so…well…almost obscene. I have to stare off at something else and not look at anyone...

And my brain is so fried that I can’t think of anything else to write about. I guess that means there’s nothing else to write about. Later, Sunshines.

The Nexus is finished!!!!

*pant pant pant* Ok, finished as in the floor is done. We’ve been moving a few things in little by little, but I’m far from moved in. Dad said the toilet isn’t done, the trim isn’t done, it’s not at all clean, and no major things have been moved in (bed, clothes, fandoms, etc). I’m just excited to finally see it done. I actually woke up pretty early for a Saturday. It was around 8:30, and I was very hungry, so I went outside and asked Dad if he wanted some eggs. He’s infamous for having 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter anywhere between 4 and 6 in the morning and then working till 10 and starving. He said he’d love some, so I fixed coffee, bacon, four eggs (two for each of us) and some toast (to sopp up the eggs). We had breakfast and then got ready to leave for town.

We priced toilets and doors, and then realized that Dad hadn’t taken measurements for the wall or toilet seat, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to buy a toilet without precise measurements. We looked at doors, but I knew we weren’t getting anything. Everything’s so expensive, so we’re just going to saw off part of the bottom of the door and re-attach the bottom with some sort of sealer. Dad seems to know what he’s doing, so I’ll just let him figure it out.

We came home, and I was excited because season 2 of Bones finally came in. After eating we started putting the shelf liner in, and then loading up the shelves with my glasses, cups, mugs and plates. Mom and Dad had to go back to town (for the toilet and some other things). I stayed and put up my fans, and my chairs (those that I could carry that is), and some of the other little things that would go in the kitchen and bathroom, along with the gifts that I’ve got wrapped for Christmas and birthdays. I tried to assemble my DVD cabinet...but evidently I can’t wrap my head around the directions =..= Mom and Dad came back with a new toilet and Mom helped me put liner in the rest of the cabinets. We also cleaned up a bit more, or tried to. We keep tracking stuff in as we come in and out, so it’s hard to keep the place clean. Mom and Dad had to leave again, so I tried to load in as many stuff full of boxes as I could, but there were some things that were just too heavy.

I unloaded as much as I could till it started getting dark. Then, I came home and showered. I’ve been watching Supernatural ever since. Though, I did manage to come up with a list of products that I regularly buy for future use. Dad has said he’ll try to get my bed and other heavy items in on Monday, so I’ll probably be moved in by then if nothing goes wrong /crosses fingers.

Now I’m going to have my mid-night snack and then o to bed. I’ve been trying to finish up this entry for the past 2 hours, so..I’m gonna go ahead and close this out and hit the hey. Later, sunshines.

msmoon: (SM - Yummy!)
No one told me how great cookies and cream milk shakes from Chick-Fil-A are…why is this? I mean, zomg, anyone? They’re only made of awesomeness that even a McFlurry or Blizzard could not contend with…or maybe it’s just because my teeth are so sensitive to the cold, and the shake is easier to swallow than the other things. Either way, I just have to say, they are made of awesomeness.

In case anyone didn’t notice, I’m in a good mood. Last night I RPGed with my Twin-san, today...well I didn’t get to do that. But my dad’s home, and we got to sit and watch Survivor: China together...a show that I really don’t care about but Chinese culture is pretty awesome. So yeah. And Mom brought home some boudin and boudin balls, yummy goodness anyone? Yeah. That’s what I thought. And the floor dude has finished almost everything in my house. The only thing he has left is the bathroom and some closets. That’s it...So why wouldn’t I be in a good mood, right?

Tomorrow, Dad and I are gonna …”uninstall” the toilet that I currently have there and then take measurements and go look for a new one (and of course by "Dad and I" I mean, I'll watch while Dad does the uninstalling and measurements and help if I can ^..^). If we can find a good deal, I’ll have a new toilet in there by tomorrow after the floor dude finished with the bathroom. It’s just so awesome. I mean, we’ve been saying that it’ll happen soon…but it seemed like soon was more 'Aslan’s soon' than my soon. Those of you who haven’t read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader probably won’t get that…heck even if you have, you might not (in the book, Aslan tells Lucy that they will meet again soon and she asks him what does he call soon and he replies with “I call all time soon.”). It was like “yeah it’ll happen soon, but soon is an immeasurable amount of time, so you’re still in constant limbo.”

Our head nurse Lori is off to Las Vegas, but that didn’t stop her from calling us around 11 and asking what we were doing for lunch (since that seems to be the same question every damn day). It dragged on in some parts and sped up at others. We played our first joke on Kamila. She has a bag of candy, like I had, only it’s kept in her drawer. Dena moved the bag to Lori’s drawer when Nicole encouraged her to play a prank. Kamila was looking for it everywhere, albeit discretely. She’d gone in the back and looked for it, she’d gone to the downstairs kitchen, she’d looked over our desks for it, and in the hallways, she even looked in her car and called her fiancé asking if he’d taken it. Finally she asked, and we played dumb for a little while before telling her where it was. Then we all shared candy and enjoyed the sugar high.

I came home and watched Supernatural till Mom and Dad got home, and of course that was right around the time my Twin and I were supposed to meet. So I sent her messages saying that I wouldn’t be able to make it (she hadn’t pinged me so I assumed she was busy with something) and went to spend the rest of my evening with my folks.

And now...I’m tired (as always). So I bid you all goodnight, sunshines.

Harvest Moonk

msmoon: (MsMoon's Crescent)
I have to say, I’ve been doing much better the past couple of days since my last post. I’m still always tired (but that’s just something that doesn’t change), and not feeling very well, but I got a first class bucking up from my Twin. I received a birthday present from her and it was only a little early ^..^ I got two packages in the mail Monday afternoon and one was the final installment of my glasses, and a mystery package. At first I suspected that it was my ornaments that I had bought, but the box didn’t look right. Then I opened it up and I knew it couldn’t be my ornaments, and when I finally got to it, I was floored. At first I had no idea where it’d come from (I even wondered if I’d ordered it in my sleep, and thought that I should check my checking account online at one point), but then I saw the bill and figured it out. She got me Black Beauty!!! I was so giddy!! And then I got online and we had a great RPG session, so I was happiness. I have named Black Beauty Cala, and she is sitting on my desk at work (because I have no place at home for her, and Mom is becoming increasingly irritated with my massive collection of boxes that's taking over her living room.).

Yesterday wasn’t great...work was so intense it made me cross-eyed, I had a head-neck-shoulder-back ache almost all day (or each part took turns) and it was just so bloody long. Then Mom says “Meet me at McDonalds near where you work for supper.” So I knew something was up. When I got there she told me the Floor Dude miscalculated and we needed 350 more square feet of flooring =..= /le sigh. So we bought more floor and spent an ungodly amount of money doing so. Then I get home and Mom has to go to her Bible Study, so I check the mail. ^____^ my Supernatural – Season 2 box set came in!! I didn’t even watch much of it though, just the gag reel and some other things on the special features and then the first episode. So, I was happy to have that.

I was all excited because I thought that Bones was premiering tonight, but I moseyed on over to their official web site and it’s been moved to the 25th at 7CST...so they moved it to Tuesday? Not that it matters, as long as I see it, but why they gotta change it? It’s a good thing I went to see. That also made me rush over to other shows to see what they were doing. I had that that Supernatural’s new season would start on the 27th, but I read at a web site that it’ll be on the 4th...when Tyra’s Next Top Model starts tonight. Weird, no? Oh well.

I keep waking up at like 3 in the morning lately. It makes it hard to rest, and considering that I’m always tired anyway, it’s just not helping. And with work being a giant head-ache...I need all the help I can get.

On the 24th, I’ll be sending out reminders via e-mail about my upcoming party. At this point, I’m just hoping that everything will be in order by then. That’s all the time I have. Later, Sunshines.

You Sometimes Don't Get Enough Sleep

You're often more tired than you'd like, and you're probably not getting enough quality sleep.
Sleeping a little more could make you a lot more energetic and happy.
Try having a bedtime, keep your bedroom cool, and only eat fruit before bed.

LOLZ!!! XD
