Soooooo, I had an interview this morning. It was for a small part-time position at the local library. It doesn't look like I'll be getting the position though. When I got there, I was surprised when I walked into the office and there was this enormous tabby cat laying on the desk. The lady said the cat was Prince... evidently one of the library cats. o..O I didn't know libraries could have cats... but it seems like a nice idea. But anyway. She asked why I'd quit Hancocks and AMC, and I said because I couldn't stand on my feet all day due to a persistent back injury. Well, turns out the entire 7.5 hour shift is supposed to be on your feet, not to mention carrying books (lifting and bending and such). She and I talked for a bit more, and she thanked me for my honesty and said that if she needed a sub, she'd call me to do a day shift... just to see if I could handle the work. /shrug. You win some, you loose some.

After that, I went by the Revenue office, which is where I got my Arkansas license plate. Alicia pointed out to me the last time we got together that my license plate was missing the month sticker o..o so I went there and told them they'd forgotten to give me said sticker. The lady was happy to give me one. Then I nicked on home.... it looked like it was going to rain a bit, so I went and got all my clothes and towels and put the towels on to wash at Mom's house (Mom's supposed to get a new washer and dryer and I'll get her old set :3).

And while my towels were drying, Alicia showed up o..o' She wanted to show me that she had found out that Transformers 2 was playing at the Imax in Branson. She stayed for a bit and then left to clean the church. It was sprinkling a bit, but I folded my towels and brought them over to my house. Then I got on the mower and cut the grass for the Rent's front and back yard as well as part of my own :) It really didn't take long at all, and when I was done, I packed up my clothes (which had dried by this time) and brought them back home. Then I took a shower.... oh... showers are so awesome ~..~

... I put some incense on to burn... I tell you, I had 2 types of incense before I moved here, Sandalwood and Sex on the Beach (which, can't possibly smell anything like said activity). But, we were at the country mart grocery store, and they had some incense there that I hadn't tried before. So I decided to buy the two sample packs they had. One has five sticks of each, the Patchouly, Nag Champa (both of which I have no experience with), Vanilla, Ocean, Rain, and Opium ..... the last of which I found very bizarre. The others with the exception of Vanilla are very nice. Nothing terribly special mind you, but nice. The other sample pack had like 10 sticks of Orange, Lavender and Sage. I've gotta say, the Sage smells excellent, Lavender too really. Orange...not really so much. Oh, and I got a pack of Jasmine, which smells amazing. I really find that I enjoy burning incense. Dad hates it. So... I burn it a lot when he's offshore -..-

Aaaand tomorrow is the Youth Excursion thingy. And all I can think about is how much I wish I could get some sushi =..= I've only been wanting it since the Mom&Me Branson trip was canceled for the lake trip. Takara did call, and she said that she and Timmy were good to come, but they'd have to be picked up. I'm actually a little disappointed that Lamarr won't be able to join us. I mean, everyone wants to see Transformers 2, but he REALLY seemed to want to see it.... Oh well. We'll have to take him another time =..=

...ok... I'm tired and hungry now. Gonna go scrounge up some food and relax :) I'll talker later, Sunshines.

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Is it Friday yet?

2008-Nov-11, Tuesday 12:38 pm
msmoon: (I Can't Understand You)

I...am so broke. Seriously, I have so little money, I’m counting down the days till it’s Friday and I get paid. Of course, Friday there are so many things I want to do! I need to set money aside for this and that and it’s just crazy. I was going to buy a few things more before I had to totally just stop, but really...at this point, I’m only going to be buying the things I absolutely need.

Yesterday, I went ahead and took my car to Sam’s Audio. The car-dude said that the radio I bought...sucks. He’s changed out at least 2 the last two weeks. So, he took me inside (after checking the radio) and he said that they had another radio like that only it was $125.99, but since I only bought this thing not even 2 months ago, what he’ll do is swap out my radio for the better one and I’ll pay the $55 difference. Of course, they didn’t have that type of radio in at the moment, so he told me to call back Friday. They’re supposed to get some in Friday, so I’ll call that morning and ask if they’re in and if they are, I’ll make an appointment. I’m thinking of asking if they can rig something up to hold my iPod...but, if the CDs are fixed then.../shrug. I dunno. I kinda want to get everything I could possible get fixed all at once...and on the other hand, I don’t see a need for the iPod thing if I have a great CD player.

Oh, and there was a big hoopla about Scamp coming over (or I should say, her going home) because I had asked if we could go and get her on the weekend and then some time around 6:30, 7ish her parents could come and pick her up (because we had that whole Twilight movie and girls’ day planed). But, Scamp had said that her parents couldn’t work it into their schedule to come and pick her up. So, I had accepted that fact that I would have to drive her home, and it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. Yeah, I’d be tired, but it’d be worth it to have her with Reiko and me for that last day. Besides, I would’ve been tired anyway. But this morning, Mom called Aunt Jane and asked if we could go pick her up and then they could come and get her on the evening of the 21st, and Aunt Jane said that it wouldn’t be a problem...so, I’m really happy about that...but a part of me is hoping that no one has misunderstood. I mean, We won’t be getting out of that movie till 6, so there’s no way we’re gonna be home till 6:30ish. If they can come and get her then, it won’t be a big problem. Still, if it does work out, it’ll be awesome!

Meh...I don’t have much else to write about. I guess I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Errors

msmoon: (You're On Notice)

iTunes was being a real ass. I bought a bunch of blank RW CDs in hopes of backing up the music I’ve bought off of iTunes, right? Well, for some odd reason, it would spit the CD out after doing a few songs and say “Error 4000”, and something about it couldn’t burn the disk. Well, I tried searching for the problem online, and there were a few options. One was going into the control panel, and when you get to iTunes repairing it. That made it so your computer recognized it as the main audio burning thingy. I tried that, and it really didn’t work. So then I tried the other thing, selecting the “preferred speed” as 8x. At first, that didn’t work either. I figured I’d give it one more chance, and it actually finished burning a CD! I was so excited! I tried to put another CD in and get that to burning too...but then it spit the CD back out with that error again. That’s when I realized the problem. iTunes? It’s a jealous and very distractible program. Yeah, see I clicked on Word, and that made it freak out and stop. So, I tried again, not getting out of the iTunes program and...it worked! I turned off my screen saver, and focused entirely on iTunes. I could move around in the program, but any clicking outside of iTunes shut down the burning process. I don’t know why it’s so crazy, but it totally works. Now I have all my stuff backed up to CD...of course, with all the experimentation, I only have 1 blank disc left =..= But oh well. At least now I know what’s up and can do this on my own.

In other (extraordinarily frustrating) news, my radio for my car? It’s not working right. It’s never been great for catching radio signals really, but it played CDs just fine, and that was what I needed, so I just let that go. But now, it keeps spitting CDs out at me...I keep trying to put them back in, but it just spits it back out again. It’s so annoying! I only just bought that thing in August! And I, of course, have no money to get it fixed...so, I’m in a bit of a bind at this point. Tomorrow, I’m gonna be calling Sam’s Audio (who did the installation) and asking them, very politely, what the hell.

On the brighter side of things, Friday was a real treat. Some of the girls from work and I went to Zen and had hibachi. It was fantastic. I finally caught the egg in my mouth too! Uh...for those who don’t know, the hibachi chief cooks egg and then takes turns throwing it to people at the table for them to catch in their mouths. It was the first time I’ve actually been able to catch the egg! It was awesome. And he was so much fun, and really preformed for us. The rice was awesome...but I’m a sucker for hibachi rice. Mom got Shrimp and I think everyone else got filet mignon.

After we were all finished eating (and a few pictures had been taken) G and I went and watched the 8:00 showing of Madagascar 2. It was so fun. G said it wasn’t as good as the first, but I really disagree. I think it wasn’t better but it was just as good. But you’ll get no secrets from me (because I’m sure you’re just scrolling through this post for Madagascar 2 spoilers u..u). G was starting to feel bad...and truthfully, so was I (but that’s expected this time of the month), so our plans to go to New Orleans to the little Asian markets were totally blown. Which...is a good thing because I work up Saturday feeling like petrified crap on a stick (on a steek!). Mom and I haven’t done much outside the house, and we really have done only a little packing. I’ve done a lot of organizing because I have so many papers and stuffs upstairs =..=

Meh...the
Twilight Soundtrack is out...and I has no money =..= I was going to order that with Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion, but there really is no chance of that now. Thank God I get paid Friday, because I’m running low on funds as is. I had wanted to buy Breaking Dawn on audio book too, to listen to on the way up (because the book took me about 4 hours to read, so I figure hearing someone else read it out loud would occupy a lot of time while I’m on the road), but it’s kinda counter productive to have CDs to listen to first if the car CD player DOESN’T WORK! I’m just gonna have to fix that...soon. Still, it doesn’t bother me so much about not getting the Twilight Illustrated Movie Companion, because if I had my druthers, I’d rather have The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, considering it’s hardback and it’s the guide to the whole she-bang, AND it’s by Stephanie Meyer herself. So yeah...of course, that doesn’t come out till December 30 =..= Nya.

I’m gonna go head and go now, before my complaining turns my already sour mood into a terrible one. Quiz Spam to follow. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (RVB - Caboose Hamster)

Isn't it always funny how things can change and all that? I am finally home. And…I have internet…but not cable. I’m more grateful for the internet, let me tell you. I’ll take a connection to friends and the entire world over mindless media and entertainment that I cannot control any day.

So, I’m finally home…and still not quite unpacked. I had to stop by Reiko’s on the way to pick up AMOS and my movies. Of course, when you’re coming back from a trip (especially when you shop as much as I did =..=) you tend to be taking more back with you than you originally had. So, I had to leave one box behind…no room for it in the car =..= It was mostly my many box sets and since Reiko doesn’t have cable either AND no internet on top of that, she could seriously use the diversion. Plus, I know she’ll take good care of them (or it’s her ass).

Also, I’m so very very sick. I think it’s just a head cold, but it’s making me miserable either way. No worries though! I’ve got Nyquil and Dayquil to help me...though, they only really relieve my symptoms for about 4 hours before I feel miserable again. Still, what more could a body ask for? As sick as I am, Mom was much worse when I left her. She caught a bad stomach, just like I told you, but she was all congested before that, so she’s fighting the same symptoms as I am ….plus the stomach virus. With her previous exposure to hepatitis B…well, her immune system is nonexistent. She takes forever to recover from these things.

Much too late to report in to work at this point of course, so I’ll be in bright and early tomorrow. You’ll be glad to know I was grounded enough that I didn’t simply rush over and install my computer first thing. No, my clothes has been put on to wash (after the towels were put on to dry), and mean while, I unpacked the entire car, unloading food items into the fridge first. Of course, the only thing in my fridge at this point is candy, soda, milk (questionable though it may be), hazelnut coffee creamer and sandwich meat. I will need to restock soon…

Now though, I do have internet, and the computer is up and running. Perhaps a bad idea to come down…what with Hurricane Ike RIGHT BELOW ME!!...but….the boss called Tuesday. Asked when I was coming back and wondering if I could make it sooner than later. So yeah. I’m back…for better or for worse. My house is awesome. I’m sick. And I’m going in to work tomorrow. But…it’s just Friday…so at least it’ll be jeans day and I won’t have to worry about when I get a break, right? The winds are pretty bad out right now, and it’s been drizzling off and on. Thanks bunches, Ike. Feel free to just pass on by without stopping.

…It’s so good to be home. I can’t wait till I settle back into it. I’m gonna go take some more meds or…maybe just blow my nose or something. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - Bad day?)

...so, I have my new car stereo. I took my car in at 9 this morning and around 10:45 I had it all paid for and was on my way back in to work. But let me tell you what happened after my post yesterday.

I called Circuit City to ask about that guy who was supposed to call me, and they said that he hadn’t come in and that they couldn’t find him. I spoke with the manager directly, explaining my problem. I was called back a little while later by a young lady saying that he had told them that he had told me to bring my car in Wednesday or Thursday morning...which, is crap because I firmly remember him telling me he was booked up all for Monday and he’d go in to Sam’s Audio early and get the part he needed, and call me at nine to get it installed. I asked if I could make an appointment for Wednesday morning at open. Then after thinking about it, I called Sam’s Audio asking if they had a similar stereo system, and how much it’d be to install it. They gave me a quote and I made an appointment for this morning at 9. I was so furious and anxious about the whole thing, that I gave myself a panic attack. My doctor had given me some pills to take when I have a panic attack, so I broke the pill in half and took half of the pill, hoping it’d help to calm me down.

….I broke out in a clammy sweat all over my body, it was very hard to breath, I was dizzy and drowsy and nauseous, I got the shakes, and everything, even sitting in my chair and staring at my monitor, was taxing. I finished the work-load for Saturday’s mail (God knows how), and told Lo that I had to go home. The girls looked at me and told me they were not comfortable with me driving myself home, because I’d gotten very pale and just didn’t look good at all (not to mention that I’d gotten deathly quiet the moment the pill kicked in, and they know that means I’m really not feeling good). So, I called my Aunt Carolyn and asked if she could come and pick me up. She said she’d come with Uncle George, and she’d drive me home while he followed in their car. I am glad they picked me up too, because I kept feeling like I was going to throw up at every turn. I got home, made myself some dry toast (the girls had recommended it) and went to bed. It felt like I wasn’t really sleeping, you know? Like I was motionless and my eyes were closed, but I was aware of everything. And yet, it was like no time had passed. I have to admit, other than feeling like my stomach was made of lead, all the other symptoms (save the grogginess of course) went away. So maybe it’s just that I couldn’t be up and moving around under those meds…lots of good that’d do me.

Around 6, my parents called – and I thanked God I’d had the good sense to keep my phone with me. I talked with them for a bit and then, I think I fell back to sleep. I woke up again around 7ish. I got up, ate a bit, watched some TV (mostly my Daria DVDs), and worked on organizing the pictures for the Mecha Con Scrap book. I did get some of my clothes washed, but I went to bed right after my shower.

I only took half of that pill, and I still feel drugged. But I felt well enough to come in to work and bring my car in, and the whole mess is over. This morning, after I dropped my car off, I texted people….because I was bored just sitting there. I hadn’t thought to bring something to read. Reiko was busy at work, Chibi was at chapel, and only asked texted back to ask when I was going to Arkansas. Scamp, got my text message and called me! We talked…for about 45 minutes or so. Which was sort of funny, since she’s spending time with her honey, Brian. I hope he didn’t mind =..= Still, after I hung up, we were still texting. Twas amusing...even if I was still bored all by my lonesome.

Now, the only thing I have to worry about for my trip, is packing! I’m so ready to just be gone! Tonight, I’ve gotta finish packing, load up the car, wash the dishes and try to straighten up some, make sure TomTom’s all ready to go, and...and….ummm….oh! Wrap Mom’s gift =..= Yeah, I got her the card, made it all out for her and I even used my stamps on the gift box, but I’ve yet to actually wrap the gift. Nice right? Doh...

I put my jeans on to wash this morning when I got up, and then when that was done, I put them on to dry. That’s the only reason I couldn’t finish packing last night. My jeans (the most integral part of my wardrobe) were still in the dirty clothes pile. Dad left a pair of his jeans and a shirt behind, so I need to remember to bring that too. My brain keeps going through all of the things I need, and I’m like “Can I pack that yet...I don’t think I need it, so I think I can.” And then I keep reminding myself, “Don’t forget Wednesday, after you use that, you’ll need to pack it.” It’s insane. I’m thinking of bringing the little thing of Folders coffee...I know my Dad doesn’t drink coffee as much as when I was there. So, it’d be a good idea to be prepared.

Oh well.. I can’t think of anything else, and there’s work that needs doin’. I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Your result for The Personality Defect Test...

Robot

You are the Robot! You are characterized by your rationality. In fact, this is really ALL you are characterized by. Like a cold, heartless machine, you are so logical and unemotional that you scarcely seem human. For instance, you are very humble and don't bother thinking of your own interests, you are very gentle and lack emotion, and you are also very introverted and introspective. You may have noticed that these traits are just as applicable to your laptop as they are to a human being. You are not like the robots they show in the movies. Movie robots are make-believe, because they always get all personable and likeable after being struck by lightning, or they are cold, cruel killing machines. In all reality, though, you are much more boring than all that. Real robots just sit there, doing their stupid jobs, and doing little else. If you get struck by lightning, you won't develop a winning personality and heart of gold. (Robots don't have hearts, silly, and if they did, they would probably be made of steel, not gold.) You also won't be likely to terrorize humanity by becoming an ultra-violent killing machine sent into the past to kill the mother of a child who will lead a rebellion against machines, because that movie was dumb as hell, and because real robots don't kill--they horribly maim at best, and they don't even do that on purpose. Real robots are boringly kind and all too rarely try to kill people. In all my years, my laptop has only attacked me once, and that was only because my brother threw it at me. In short, your personality defect is that you don't really HAVE a personality. You are one of those annoying, super-logical people that never gets upset or flustered. Unless, of course, you short circuit. Or if someone throws a pie at you. Pies sure are delicious.

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more RATIONAL than intuitive.

2. You are more INTROVERTED than extroverted.

3. You are more GENTLE than brutal.

4. You are more HUMBLE than arrogant.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Class Clown.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Hand-Raiser, the Emo Kid, and the Haughty Intellectual.

*

*

If you scored near fifty percent for a certain trait (42%-58%), you could very well go either way. For example, someone with 42% Extroversion is slightly leaning towards being an introvert, but is close enough to being an extrovert to be classified that way as well. Below is a list of the other personality types so that you can determine which other possible categories you may fill if you scored near fifty percent for certain traits.

The other personality types:

The Emo Kid: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Starving Artist: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Bitch-Slap: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Brute: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hippie: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Televangelist: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Schoolyard Bully: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Class Clown: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Robot: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Haughty Intellectual: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Spiteful Loner: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Sociopath: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hand-Raiser: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Braggart: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Capitalist Pig: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Smartass: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (RVB - Sarge Memo)

Ok...so I’ve been talking about the Puma (my car) for a long time now. Mostly because a lot has needed fixing on it, and it’s taken serious time to get it in gear in time for my surprise trip. Far and away, the biggest issue has been the CD/Radio situation, and that wasn’t always the case, but over the weekend, it became a struggle of epic proportions. I had said that I was going to call and schedule an appointment for Saturday, and I did. I called around 10 on Thursday morning and set up an appointment for 11 in the morning on Saturday.

Well, Saturday, I woke up and after getting a few calls from a very excited Reiko (who was in GA at the time visiting her S.O.), I got dressed and ready and headed to Circuit City. I was ten minutes early, and I walked in asking the guy where I should pull up for my appointment. He asked me my name the make/model of my car, and I told him. He said, “…what day did you call in?” and I told him and he said “Oh…that was the day *insert guy’s name here* quit. He probably didn’t even write your name down for the appointment...” and I was like. “…….quoi?” The main thing going though my head was “How’s this my problem?” but I calmed myself down and tried to remind myself that everyone makes mistakes and all. So I asked when the earliest was I could come back for my appointment. He told me he was totally free tomorrow (Sunday), so I made an appointment for Sunday at 1.

Sunday, I went to church and left a little early in order to keep my appointment. I got there about ten minutes early, called and asked where to pull up and they said “In the back.” Of course, I already was in the back. I pulled up to the big red doors that had “Circuit City Service Here!” above them. I pressed the buzzer and after a few moments wait, the guy opened the door for me. I go in and he asks me the same question, the make/model of the car. At this point, it just rolls off my tongue “2003 Ford Focus, 4-door sedan.” I could probably even tell him that it’s close to having 53,000 miles on it and the tires are size 15’s. But that’s not necessary. After 10 minutes of him scuttling around, he comes up to me and says, “We don’t have the wire harness.” And I was like, “What?” because, I don’t really understand why he’s still talking to me at this point, instead of taking my car into the thingy and taking care of the problem. He says “The Wire harness?” – like I’m supposed to know what that is! Hello! I’d need a Y chromosome to really be up to speed on this! – He continues, “We don’t have the wire harness that we need for the job. Could you go to Best Buy and get it?”

…………

……………..Quoi!?

That’s kinda what went through my mind, along with the first thought of “How is this my problem?”. But, I was trying not to get aggravated or anything, and I asked exactly what I needed, and he told me “Wire harness for a 2003 Ford Focus.” So, I get in my car – by the way, have I mentioned that what’s left of Faye hit us yesterday morning and it rained all freakin’ day long!? – and I head over to Best Buy. It’s not too far away...but, anyway, I get down after fighting the mad traffic and walk into the car audio department. Not surprisingly, there’s no one there. So, I hunt down one of the illusive blue shirts and ask him if he can help. He calls someone to the department and they go in the back to get the part I need. He comes back out and hands me a baggie with these wires all in it – once again, I’d need a Y chromosome to get it – and I buy it for $21 bucks. At some point, I noticed that everything for Best Buy is blue and everything for Circuit City is red. It’s like, I’d always known the color code and all...but when I walked through Circuit City, I noticed the bags, buggies, tags, everything is red,…..and then, going through Best Buy, I noticed they have everything exactly the same! Only it’s all blue. So, when I got back to Circuit City, I asked the guy if it was ok to have that blue Best Buy bag in here since everything was like Red Vs. Blue…which is when he told me that Circuit City and Best Buy always do this, if one of them doesn’t have a product and the other does they’ll just go over and buy from their competitors. But I’m getting ahead of myself…

Anyway, I head back over to Circuit City…and the guy is talking with this other fella. He tells me he’ll be there in a second. So a minute or so later, he walks up, looks at the part I have and says, “This isn’t the right part...” He calls them AGAIN, and expresses exactly the right part he needs for this thing. He writes it down for me. And I go back into the rain AGAIN, head to Best Buy, return the bad product that I don’t need, and inform the guys that this wasn’t what I needed, giving him the paper that Circuit City guy gave me. I even remember saying to the guy, “That’s a 50 DKP minus!” It helped to cheer me up a bit. So! I get that part, which is $19, so I have enough money from my money back to buy it without using my debit card. I head back to Circuit City!.....and the guy isn’t in the department. After waiting around for five minutes – and having some nice kids come into the car audio department and fooling with the radios so that the speakers were so loud it vibrated the whole dang wall and I felt it in my teeth – he comes back! ….and looks at the part and says that it is part of the part he needs, but only half of it. The part I have right now connects the radio to the power supply, making the radio capable of working; the other part connects the radio to the spears so that I can actually hear what’s on the radio.

At this point, I’m pretty fed up with both Circuit City and Best Buy. I asked the guy if there’s anyway they can order the part or if they do how soon will it get in. He tells me that he can get it tomorrow morning (Monday) from Sam’s. He tells me that he is all booked up for Monday, but he’ll get the part from Sam’s first thing in the morning and call me to bring the car in. I’m just glad that I don’t have to run all over creation and get parts that I don’t know or understand. But over-all, I’m fully frustrated and upset about the whole experience. And while the products I’m getting out of this are wonderfully priced and are top line...the service is so bad, it makes me want to reconsider ever going to both places again.

It’s now 10:00 (give or take depending on your watch), and I still have not received a call. I’m going to leave this huge ranting post as it is and post again later after the product is actually mine. That might take 3 more days, but that’s my decision (because talking about it and typing about it is making my blood pressure rise).

Here’s hoping the next post will be a good one. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - Snore)

Hanging out with Chibi is like smoking marijuana without all the harmful side effects (there are side effects to Chibi’s presence, they just aren’t usually harmful). Last night, we consumed sushi and watched more Supernatural. After an episode, Dad called and said he was in Biloxi and would probably be home in two hours O..O’ So, we watched and waited. Dad got there around...9ish. I think. Or it was close to 9. Chibi couldn’t stand the cliff hanger we left off on, so we watched one more episode (Dad can sleep through anything, so he just crashed in my spare room), and that put us seeing Hunted last. I did tell her a lot of what happened in certain episodes and stuff...but, only because I know she might not see me anytime soon (and God only knows when she’ll manage to watch the rest…unless I get it for her for her birthday…). I didn’t get to sleep till well after 11 =..= So excessive doses of Chibi causes massive giggling, ridiculously silly jokes, and extended euphoria...quickly followed by sleep deprivation and eventually exhaustion.

Anyway! Woke up this morning feeling exhausted and wishing I’d been able to sleep more. But, I got up. Dad got up. I got ready and ate breakfast. And then, I drove to work with Dad. After we got here, Dad took the car and went to shop around for tires and get the battery checked and everything. He picked me up for lunch, and we went to Arby’s. He pointed out that I had brand new tires (and I was a happy bunny). The lunch was pleasant…at first. When we were leaving, we saw a lady on the sidewalk just laying there in a pool of her own blood. Not a nice sight. We immediately rushed back in to say that someone was hurt outside, and the manager at Arby’s said there was a medic in the building (really?). When the medic started tending to her, we left, knowing we’d only be in the way. Evidently she tripped and when she hit the pavement, she blacked out.

Then we went to Circuit City, because I hd 30 minutes left to my break, and Giggles told me she got her husband’s car stereo there, and it wasn’t as expensive as the clods at the Ford place had quoted me and they install. So, I went in to price the cd/radio thingies and ask my questions. I have to set up an appointment to get it installed in my car. But, after looking around on line, I’ve found the one I want. It’s the Jensen Phase Linear 160W Car Stereo…and not just because it’s the cheapest (or because it's named Jensen ^..^). It just has everything that I need, so I see no reason to pay more for any of the other ones. I see nothing wrong with the product or price so…that’s it. I’m gonna call and make an “appointment” to get it installed in my car…I’m hoping for Friday…but we shall see. If not then, it’ll have to be Monday or Tuesday (…I dunno if they’re open over the weekend…I’ll have to ask!). It's just good to know that everything in my car is going to be taken care of...even if I will owe my parents over $500 for it =..= I'll pay 'em back too. It might take a while, but I will.

I’m leaving next week...I have a note on my calendar to pack Monday =..= So, OCD of me. Oh…and Reiko’s leaving for GA at the end of this week! She’ll finally get to see her man...but, I won’t be seeing her for a while. But at least she’ll be happy.

…I want today to be over so that I can sleep =..=’ That’s so very sad. I feel like I’ve been going in slow motion all day…well, for the past few days actually. I am looking forward to my Aunt Carolyn’s fried fish for supper, and seeing Celeste tonight at church. With Chibi down, I totally missed Sunday night…so yeah. I’m over-due.

I can’t think of anything else, and I should most likely get back to my work…later, Sunshines!

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Trust Me)

Thank God for unwinding time. I was lucky enough to have Giggles (a coworker =..=) bring me to the Ford place to pick up my car (she lives near there). I picked the Puma up, and I was very happy to find the charge was only $110. I called Chibi, but she didn’t answer. So I waited till I got home and then messaged her. She didn’t respond. So, I went ahead and took my shower. She finally responded, saying that he mom had the van so she would be late. I told her that was fine, I would make Gyoza and Ragoons. 40 minutes later, I got a ‘OMW’ message. I don’t think she got to my place till after 7...But I got to take my shower and cook a meal (in the sense that it came out of a box and I heated it up properly).

We started watching more of Supernatural, when my Mom called. She had set up an e-mail account for my Aunt Carolyn (who’s now living with the rents), and she couldn’t access it (or just didn’t know how -..-). After about 20 minutes of struggling to get them to the hotmail web site, she read me the “you’ve tried to log on to many times, so you’re locked out. Kthxbia!” message, so we decided to put off that trial till the next day. We gabbed back and forth for another 15 minutes, and then she said goodnight.

Chibi stayed for a little while longer. I showed her the YES dance – which has scared me for life – and the Urban Ninja – who I want to be when I grow up. We stopped...when did we stop?.../goes to the Super-Wiki. Ah! No Exit! The last one we watched was No Exit. Talk about a creepy episode. Possibly even more creepy than Everybody Loves a Clown. That was creepy too, but I’m more of a claustrophobe than a clown-o-phobe, so No Exit gives me the willies. I’m also a little creeped by, you know, psycho-serial-killer-ghosts-that-like-to-drag-you-off-and-paw-you-while-you-slowly-die-or-are-smothered-by-chloroform... That sorta freaks me out too...I suppose Dean said it best when he said, “The only thing worse than a pissed off spirit, is the pissed off spirit of a psycho.” Man...even if Asylum didn’t have too much creepy stuff in it, just the thought of the ghosts of inmates at a psych ward is freaky. The possibilities, you know?….

….what was I talking about before? Oh…right. The evening we had -..- But yeah! After No Exit we knew it was a little late to start watching another episode, so we just talked a bit about our plans for today. We decided that I’ll order something from Zen’s to go (Scamp, don't hate me), and she’ll just meet me out the Nexus. Just so’s we can watch more Supernatural (because God only knows when I’ll see her again ;_;). I do want to catch up on her life, and plans and…just talk and everything.

…I think that’s everything. I feel so much better in comparison to yesterday. No more days like that anytime soon, kthxbia! Later, Sunshines.

WHAT IN SAM HELL!!!

2008-Aug-18, Monday 04:32 pm
msmoon: (RVB - Puma)

OK, so I just got over the call from the Ford place. I was told, 1) I need new tires, 2) I need a new battery, 3) I need a completely new stereo. I asked how much that would be all together, and was told $1,100. After I picked my jaw up off the floor I told them not to worry about the radio. Ten minutes later, I called back and said not to worry about the battery. Five minutes later, I called back and said leave the tires alone, I’ll be there at 5 to pick the thing up.

I had a heated discussion about it all with my coworkers somewhere in between all of those calls and they convinced me to shop around. After canceling all of that with the Ford people, I called Mom and told her. She agreed that shopping around was the best policy. I called Dad too, and after a “ /insert pause. Do what!” reply to my original story, I calmed him down with my reaction, and he said that he’d come and get my car on the day he got in and he’d take care of the tires and everything. I talked to G and she said that her son Johnny knows a place that he can order a car stereo for relatively cheap and then he can put it in my car himself at no charge. Over all, this has been a lesson in “Dealerships See you Coming” and “Always consult those older than you who’ve been there!” Because I’m not sure what I would’ve done (other than had to pay my parents back for new tires).

I can’t wait to pick the Puma up and just drive home. I’m so zonked from everything...Thank God, the day really did fly by. I need a xanax.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (MM - Voices)

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was awesome. Now, I REALLY have to watch the other movies…and possibly buy them ^..^

OK…what else happened over the weekend? Well, it rained….a lot! Which is normal at this point, but it sorta needs to stop now. I have Lake Pontchartrain all around my house. Of course, rain is perfect weather to clean house to, so I really didn’t mind so much…except when I had to actually go out to do something and ended up doing the Louisiana Shuffle (you know, when every piece of ground is either soggy mud or a puddle).

I’ve pretty much decided to make two copies of my Mecha Con pics and make a scrapbook for Reiko and myself. Of course, I don’t really know much about Scrapbooking, but after talking with Mom a bit over the weekend, I found out that my Aunt Batty knows how. So, I’m definitely going to be consulting her. I get the idea of printing out the pics and putting them on card stock and writing something clever in and arranging them on the page with embellishments here and there (but nothing too crowded), but what I’m not sure about is how it fits into the book =..= It’s the practical side of things that I can’t wrap my head around. I’ll go ahead and make mine first though, that way I’ll have it all worked out by the time I get to Reiko’s and her’s will be better ^..^ I did go by Hobby Lobby just to see if it’d inspire anything, I have a few ideas…but nothing definite. I’m still unable to get past that initial confusion =..=

Chibi came over Sunday. She finally made it to my house around 5:20, but she came bearing pizza, so I didn’t mind so much. I finally got her to see the whole first season of Supernatural and we even started in on the 2nd season. We only have one more episode, and the whole first disc of the second season will be watched...only 5 more to go and she’ll have the whole 2nd season down too! I know I’m not going to be seeing her for quite some time...so she’ll have to come and spend several days with me in order to catch up once I finally own the 3rd (and eventually 4th considering how slow we’re going with this) season(s). I also showed her the first disc of Reiko and my Mecha Con adventure. It was amusing to show her the pictures.

I brought the puma in this morning for the service. I asked how long it would take and when I could come and pick it up, and the guy said, “It depends on what we find with the brakes.” =..= Which, is exactly the opposite of what I want to hear. A part of me is slightly panicked at the notion of not knowing (as it usually is), but I keep reassuring myself that even if it does take more than the day that I allotted for it, I do have a few people that don’t mind toting me to and from work. Still, it’s just one of those uncertain incontinences. Still, I hope my baby’s just in need of a quick fix. And..I hope it isn’t too expensive.

Dear, God. Please let this work day be over quickly, and let my car be fixed by the time it is. K, thx, luvya, bia!

So, tonight, Chibi’s going to come over too. Or at least, she’d better since she made off with volumes 5-9 or my W Juliet. If I can just pick up my car, I’ll call her after I’ve gotten the car and we’ll meet at my place. If not…well, I’ll just be giving her a call one way or the other. I think she might be coming over tomorrow night too…or we might go out to eat at Zen’s. I told her about it and she agreed that I really must show her what it’s all about. I know Dad’s coming in on Wednesday and we’re going to my Aunt Carolyn’s for supper and then to church (note to self: bring a change of clothes to work). So that means RP with Scamp gets pushed back to the latter half of the week (if you can call it that). And I know her beau is coming to visit sometime (I think she said the 24th), so I’m pretty certain we won’t have as much time as we’d like. Still, it’s always fun when we can manage it.

I guess that’s…everything. Or everything I can think of right now. I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (OMG! ONOZ!)

Now, I’m slightly stressed. Ok, so, I was gonna call up the Ford place, and get my car scheduled for a tune up, and repair the CD player and all that? Well, Mom calls and she says they got these coupons in the mail from our local Ford place (the place I bought my car, no less), and it’s like $35 for an oil & filter change, and $99 for break service….which, Mom says is a good rate, and since I’m not up on car&driver, I assume she’s right. Well, I get the coupons, and I look on them….the expiration date is 8/20/08 O..O’’ Um, yeah. So, I had to call this morning and get an appointment on the 18th for 8:30. Only problem?....I don’t get paid till the 22nd. Now, I’ve got money in my account and all...but, I just don’t know how much everything will cost. So, I called Mom in a panic, telling her about the coupons and everything and she said she’d send me the credit card and I could pay them back =..= This morning was stressful!

Oh, and I mentioned to G that I was looking for a tailor / Seamstress in Houma to help me make a costume. I really…REALLY want to go as Harley Quinn. If only to say, that once in my life, I Cosplayed Harley Quinn. She said that her sister was a retired seamstress and might help me with that. Of course, I had no money for it now, but after the road trip, I can start saving up for it. It’s just good to know your options. I discussed it with Reiko, and asked if she’d want to go as Poison Ivy, and she nearly exploded. Was definitely funny. So now I'm looking at accessories online, to see what I can get to go with the costume...but, no wig for me, thanks. I am so letting my hair grow...maybe even coloring it too...I know G can't wait for that! It’s a little weird, because we’re planning on going as Harley and Ivy…and we don’t go to any comic-like cons =..=’ But it’s all in good fun.

Oh, and last night was Bubba’s goodbye party. He’s joined a program called Master’s Commission, and he’s going off to Florida, where his Mom is, and he’s going to be serving in Master’s Commission for 9 months. I finally got the chance to give him Indiana (the dagger I got for him for his birthday). We had a lot of fun at the party…but that was because, Celeste, Kayla, Mike, Miranda, Stump and I all went in another room and sat and ate our food there. We cracked each other up so much, and it was such silly things that I don’t even remember what we were laughing about. Oh, and Bubba loved Indy…or at least I think he did. He might’ve just been so delighted to get a gift when he wasn’t expecting one. But it was good fun…either way.

...I can’t think of anything else…I certainly hope that’s everything. Later, Sunshines!

Solo Again

2008-Aug-11, Monday 09:49 am
msmoon: (RVB - Puma)

Back to normal…sort of. I’m solo once again. I brought Scamp to Patterson Sunday morning, and her parents met me there to pick her up. It’s always strange coming back to an empty house when someone else has occupied it with you for a while. Also, my work schedule has gone back to the 8 – 5 routine, which…makes me feel like I’m almost sleeping in now. Got to admit, after a dragging Friday work-wise, the rest of the weekend was pretty awesome.

Around 5:45 I ordered some sushi from Zen – 4 rolls; Saints Roll, Rock-N-Roll, Tempura Roll, and Cucumber Wrap roll. Scamp and I then gorged ourselves on Sushi, and in the end, we had like 2 or 3 pieces left over. Not of the Cucumber wrap or Tempura roll, let me tell you. It’s like the perfect blend of rolls. Seriously. The tempura roll is shrimp, crab, avocado, wrapped in rice and fried in tempura batter. It just zings in your mouth, all salty and good….and the cucumber wrap rolls is crab meet wrapped up in cucumber, which is refreshing and yet rich at the same time. So, it’s like the perfect combo. The Rock-N-Roll is mostly shrimp, rice and avocado (at least, that’s the tastes that rule when you’re eating it). It does come with a dot of this mysterious red sauce...which is so hot, I cannot eat it at all. Scamp tried and nearly gave herself an asthma attack. The Saint’s Roll is crawfish and avocado wrapped in rice and then shrimp with spicy mayo on top. I can only take so much spicy mayo, but it is very good. I’ve come to the conclusion that you should always request “sauce on the side, please”…just to be safe.

And after careful consideration...we decided to have our favorite roll combo for breakfast Saturday morning. After we polished it off evenly, we sort of stared at the empty to-go boxes as if to say “Awww…no more?” Then we got up and finished the house work. Yes...we are a great pair of geeks, but being from the south implies a certain obsession with food. So there!

Saturday morning was a toss-up between cleaning and watching Daria. Then Scamp told me she was so tired, so around 4 I told her to go take a nap, and I would wake her up in time for her raid that night. I read some more of Breaking Dawn (I am going to sit down one day and re-read the whole thing instead of just skimming it), and then at 6 I woke her up. Her raid was…amusing. If only because her friends are amusing. There was a moment when she turned my mic on and I turned up the I’m Blue song by Eiffel 65…which inspired some dancing and some shuddering ^..^ Either way it was amusing. I turned in before the raid was finished, no longer able to focus…then again, I didn’t take a nap in the afternoon.

Sunday, after waking up around 7:30ish, I got up and straightened my hair (because I hadn’t blow dried it the night before, so it was all crazy-like). Then, after packing up the car, we left, hitting Burger King up for breakfast on the way. We were in Patterson around 9ish and then her parents picked her up and it was me coming back home solo. Though, we did get together on WoW for some nice RP. It was fun. Even if we didn’t really do anything.

I need to contact the local ford place to see about getting my car checked up. I need to get the brakes done, the tires rotated, the transmition checked and the oil changed. I also need to get them to see about the CD player. I mean…really. There’s no reason I’ve let this go on so long. With all the trips I’m taking (and going to be taking) I really just want to get that seen to. I get paid again on the 22nd, so I’m gonna ask for an “appointment” on that day, or after. The only thing I really have to worry about is transportation to and from the place. I’ll figure it out. Either way, the Puma needs a check-up ^..^

And that’s my weekend. Oh…late last night, I made myself a new icon. /giggle. I think it’s funny! It's a Twilight icon. Behold!

Edward's Nightmare
I might be the only one to enjoy it...but enjoy it, I do.

…I guess that’s all. Going back to normal work hours and...since Monday night is 15% off, I shall earn Scamp’s ire by having sushi tonight! Later, Sunshines!

Harvest Moon
msmoon: (Christmas Kitty)
I need days off from my days off! That isn’t even fair...The weekend...it wasn’t bad really. In fact it passed as most weekends do. Unfortunately, very little can prepare for all that can (and will) happen when the ‘Mouto-chans come to town.

Monday didn’t go quite how I thought it would. Scamp and I ended up cleaning most of the day and Chibi didn’t make an appearance till after 6. I had “cooked” Potstickers and Ragoons ^..^ so we had a nice meal. She told us that she had to be ready to leave around 10:30 the next morning for an appointment at 11, so I made sure to call Reiko and left messages on her voice mail. We talked a bit between things, and ended up doing more watching TV than anything. A funny event came when there was something on TV about seeing someone in a vision, and Chibi said, “Well that sounds like a bad romance novel...” to which I looked at her and promptly flipped her off. Those of you who don’t know the premise of my book, won’t see why that’s funny, but it cracked Scamp up.

We stayed up late (much later than I’m accustomed to) watching the first season of Supernatural (which, Chibi has yet to finish even now). We watched up to Hell House – 1.17, and by then it was 3 a.m. and I was exhausted. I told them I was going to bed and they should, too, since we had to wake up at 8ish. Of course, they didn’t actually go to sleep. They probably didn’t stop talking till 4 =..= I was not a happy psycho bunny.

During this time, I tried to get to sleep but couldn’t. At one point I had to go to the bathroom, so I got up and went to go down stairs. Of course, Chibi and Scamp’s excited talking came to a halt and Scamp yelled out “I see whiteness!” and Chibi yells out “She looks like a ghost!”. These statements accompanied mass hysteria, with the girls going on and on about how I was glowing and eventually collapsing into giggles. I ignored this, with disgruntled amusement, and just went to the bathroom. While I’m in the bathroom, I hear whispering (which wasn’t covered up very well) and then a long series of loud thumps. I quickly realize that it isn’t, in fact, a herd of wild wildebeest going up my stairs (that’d just be crazy!) but it’s Chibi and Scamp going up my stairs into my room (where they have no business being! ^..^). So I get out of the bathroom and turn on the upstairs light, and sure enough, they’re frozen in my bed, as if caught red handed. They though they’d “sneak up” and then surprise me when I got back upstairs...I guess they forgot that my hearing is great and my bedroom and stairs are directly above my bathroom.

The next morning, I woke up around 8 and went down stairs to make coffee. I wasn’t quiet but I wasn’t loud ether since the girls needed to wake up too. I fixed my breakfast and then Scamp fixed hers and finally Chibi dragged herself off the air mattresses and made hers. We talked a little bit and then watched one more episode of Supernatural (Something Wicked – 1.18). Reiko called at some point saying that her new boyfriend, whom I shall call J10, had a job interview and they probably wouldn’t make it till 3. Of course, Chibi had to leave at 10:30, but she said she might be able to make it back for 6.

After Chibi left, I honestly don’t remember much. I know I tried to go back and take a nap...though I can’t say if I succeeded, because while I “napped” it felt like I was still awake and aware of everything. But I woke up around 12 and I was just as tired…so I determined that it wouldn’t help me to take a nap. So…I had a Mountain Dew. That woke me up better than any cup of coffee could. Scamp and I didn’t do much other than watch TV after that till around 2ish. I decided to throw the lasagna into the oven so that it’d be ready when Reiko got there. Of course, it was ready long before she got there and was a little cooled…which, I suppose is better than raging hot.

After opening her gifts (which I hurried her through, because by then we only had five minutes left on the DVD Camcorder), J10 decided he wanted to try running up the walls of my house…which sounded so bizarre, I agreed. We all went out and watched him run at the house and try to get as far as he could. Then he grabbed the side of the house…and the metal rim sliced through two of his fingers, cutting him really deep. Blood was gushing, Reiko was freaked, J10 wasn’t that bothered by it…well, other than the pain. So we go inside and wash the cuts out. I hike over to my parents place and they’re just arriving so I ask for peroxide. I grab a huge thing of peroxide and bring it back, repeatedly drenching his fingers in them. The ring finger didn’t look so bad, but the middle finger was really bad. We wrapped them, and he kept his arm elevated. He had some beef jerky, and I suggested beer for the blood loss, but he said that beer didn’t really work that it was wine that would help with blood...so, now I’m confused. But oh well. They hung out for a little while longer, and we got a call from Chibi’s mom saying that they had to have dinner with some family or something, and she wouldn’t be here till 9. So, Reiko and J10 begged us to go to their new place...which is in Hammond…which is a little over an hour away. We mulled over it a while, and called Chibi to see if she could make it any sooner and then just go with us…only to find that Chibi was sleeping…and her mom couldn’t wake her. So the answer was basically no. So we told them we were going to Harahan, so not to come tonight. She called later to say that she’d come over for a little while Wednesday night. So we left, but not before stopped by Reiko’s parents place to make sure she had all her stuff.

The ride over was…uh…eventful but quiet really. Well, quite when you consider who was in the car. Reiko drives at excessive speeds, going 80 in 55 MPH zones and 90 on the interstates. Of course, I haven’t had my tires aligned in a while, so as soon as I get over 75 MPH, my car starts to shake a little. And then there was the one guy who had some serious road rage when Reiko passed him. He wouldn’t let me pass at all, so we ended up letting him go around or something. It was weird. I gotta say that was a long car ride, but mostly because we were quiet. I had things like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation playing on the radio really loudly, so it wasn’t like it was all quiet. Just…we were. We got there around 8ish...and their house is really cool. I almost wish I’d brought the camera.

We stayed over for a while, enjoying the banter between Reiko & J10 and Chimera’s antics after being exposed to catnip. We left around 10. Aside from one mishap, we got home right as rain. Of course, by then it was after 11 and was exhausted. I showered and ate a little bit then crashed. 5:30 always comes early. I got ready in a haze and took a Mountain Dew with me…after discovering it’s magical powers, I decided to keep a bottle on hand for rough mornings ^..^ I got through work and went home. I gotta say, after all that activity, it made me really miss my parents. Mom had a nice meal made and we had Mr. Harvey over for supper. We ate and talked a bit and then Scamp and I went back to the Nexus. I showered and then we talked and waited for Chibi to show. We talked a little when she got there, but she wanted to see more of Supernatural so we finished off the 5th disc. So there are only 2 episodes left! I told her, “By the time you’re ready for the second season, I’ll have the fourth on DVD….Which, I suppose, works out really well!” Chibi’s mom came and got her around 11 and we said our goodbyes. I promised not to die before I wrote my book so she could see me again ^..^

Damn…that’s a big entry. But that’s what I’ve been doing and all the eventful things. I’m sure if I’ve missed anything, Scamp will comment on it…as soon as she gets home that is. I can’t wait till Friday just so I can sleep in again on Saturday =..=. But, I guess that’ll be all for now. Later, Sunshines.

You Should Have a Purple Christmas Tree

For you, the holidays represent a time of creativity and expression.

There's no way you'd do something bland simply for tradition's sake.

You are an independent person, and you definitely do the holidays your own way.

And you're decadent enough to go way over the top with any unusual holiday ideas you have.

Your purple tree would look great with: Purple lights and ornaments

You should spend Christmas Eve watching: A Christmas Story

What you should bake for Santa: "Kitchen sink" cookies - with a ton of things in them

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - no good)
Dammit. My cousin gets to stay home and sleep through this glorious weather. Life is so not fair.

Last night, Scamp and I got to see 300! It was so good! I’m a little hesitant to rant and rave about it, if only because I don’t want to give things away. I lost a lot of shock-and-awe factor after one of my friends ranted about Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and I saw “OMG, Barbosa!” in her rant, and kinda wasn’t too surprised to see Barbosa and noticed his boots in the Voodoo woman’s thing (because, in fact I was looking for him). But this was just an awesome movie. My coworkers asked about it this morning, and they asked if it was gory, and to be honest...gore doesn’t bother me (Al Gore, sure, but not movie gore). What bothers me is nudity and sex scenes, both of which were in this movie. But that’s why God invented Fast Forward. And thankfully the scenes weren’t too lengthy. I always feel like intimacy is something that’s personal and private, so having it public kind of takes away from the whole ‘intimacy’ thing =.= But, every other part of the movie was greatness in itself.

Scamp and I had a regular Geeks Night out. First we headed to Burger King to eat, and that was interesting. It was nearly empty when we walked in, and these guys walked in after us. I wasn’t paying attention to them really (if it’d been Vin Diesel or Orlando Bloom, then I would’ve paid attention, but it was not). When we sat down and started eating Scamp asked if I’d heard what they were talking about and I was like, no I wasn’t really paying attention. She said that they said something along the lines of, “That’s the biggest asses I’ve seen on a white girl. Wouldn’t mind tapping that.” ...I told my coworkers about it and they were like “Gee, how romantic.” I told them that the guys probably didn’t count on Scamp’s elvish hearing ^.^ Then we went over to Books A Million. /looks around as angels start to sing. Hmmm. Yeah, so we looked around in the Manga and D&D books. Then we headed over to the journals (which was probably a mistake). I ended up buying the D&D Player’s Handbook for myself and the Warcraft manga/comic/graphic novel/whatever. I got Scamp the Godchild manga and a leather journal...with slot for a pen and these nice dark brown pages. It was prettiful. Although Scamp was a bit shocked that I got it for her. I just enjoy getting gifts for people, especially when I have the means to do so. And besides, I couldn’t walk in there and get something for myself without getting something for her. That’d been unfair.

After that we saw the movie and Scamp exhausted me with her giddy chatter all the way home. We noticed that the “Check Engine” light was on in my car...Of course, Dad’s never really shown me how to check my oil or engine or anything else, so I’m like “Ok, now what?” Every time it’s time to check the oil, I tell him to wait and show me what to do, and what does he do? Either he forgets entirely (like this time) or he just does it without me. Honestly. I’m gonna call Mom on my lunch break and tell her what’s up, then I’ll call my Paran (who works on cars and owns a shop) and ask if there’s any time I can bring the car over since Dad isn’t in town. I don’t see any other options really.

So far….that is all that there is to talk about. So that’s all for this post. I’ll check in with you later, sunshines. Ja!

You Are a Little Messy

You aren't the cleanest person in the world, but you're definitely not a slob.
You clean up when you have the time, but you're realistic about what you can get done.
Generally, you're pretty organized and tidy - though you may have a few hidden messes.
You eventually get around to making things spotless, but you do it on your own schedule!

Hmmm...I think I need to retake this quiz =.=

msmoon: (RVB - Puma)
This morning, when I was getting ready to leave for work, I went out and loaded up the puma, only to find the windshield covered in ice…..OK. So, I turn on my wipers and make with the spraying of the water and all, and.….it didn’t’ really help. In fact it looked worse. So, I’m looking all over for a squeegee or something that I could use that might-could scrape the ice off. Of course, we don’t really have anything like that…We’s Cajuns! What for we need wit’ the scrapping wit’ the ice thing? So, I’m looking in our kitchen for anything I might be able to use to scrape all that ice off….then I saw my dad’s big comb so I ended up using the back-side of that =_= Hey, I had to get to work, and as it was I ended up spending 10 minutes scraping the ice off my entire windshield. I couldn’t feel my fingers after that =.=

Then I get to work, and after a while Nicole announces that Mrs. Mary will not be coming back. She was in the middle of an ugly divorce with her husband who verbally abuses her and tears her down psychologically, and she just decided to give in evidently. From what I understand she told Nicole exactly “The pain I feel right now is much worse than what I’ve felt when I was with him.” ...which makes no sense to me. Her loss is felt here, and we’re all more than a little upset about it.

This post is entirely too complainey, so I decided to post something that my Dad sent me from offshore. It’s this funny clip that I’ve watched about five times and cracked up each time. Enjoy.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Slayers - Secret)
Ok, so this morning, I nearly fell asleep during the song service at church...that’s how tired I was. So why am I staying up to post a journal entry?...because I’m just mad like that. Now, bugger off and quit bothering me!

Ok, so I went to Target to get something to ship Chibi’s birthday present in...and dummy-me, I bought a 3 pack that was too small =.= Note to self – 6 in X 9 in is not big enough. So tomorrow I’ll be dropping by Wally World on my lunch hour to pick up something a tad bigger. So I may mail her gift tomorrow afternoon...or not. I’m not sure. It’ll either be tomorrow or the next day. I may just ship it out tomorrow and write “DO NOT OPEN TILL OCTOBER 13 ON PENALTY OF DEATH!!!!BLARG!!!” on it or something. I’ve yet to decide.

Oh! I did manage to get a few things at Wally World though. I got a nice curtain rod that Mom doesn’t think will work for my curtains that are coming in with my bed spread. She says the …deep pocket curtains so I need a deep pocket rod. I said we could improvise but she advised me to keep my receipt just in case /shrugs. I also got half of Gillian’s Christmas present /rubs hands together gleefully She’s never gonna see this coming ^____^ oh, and I went by the 2 DVDs for $11 bin and found Now & Then on DVD. Coolness no? I should look through those DVD racks more often...then again, I’d probably be poorer...which isn’t much of a stretch to the imagination.

Speaking of spending money, I also got Tiffany and Constance their Christmas gifts. I just don’t feel good about getting stuff for Gill and not the others. Although it does make me feel a little more out-of-the-loop when it comes to my cousins. Josh is relatively easy to shop for really =.= But I really didn’t have a clue as to what to get Constance or Tiffany o.o It makes me feel bad about not really knowing my cousins that well. Oh well.

Oh yeah, and the really funny thing that happened tonight – I was settling in to bore myself into a sleep-ready state (which almost always means watching old DVDs that I’ve seen 2 billion times), when my DVD player started skipping and making weird noises. I figured, there were scratches on the DVD. So I get out of bed, get the disc and prepare to clean it...but there aren’t any scratches (there never were any scratches O.o the matrix has you! /cough cough), so I put it back in and after about 3 minutes of groans and creaks, my DVD player informs me that there’s no data on this disc and there’s an error…w…t…f…mates? I put another DVD in to check it and put the first one in the computer; the second DVD wouldn’t come on and the first one played just fine on my computers DVD player. So, in conclusion, my uneducated opinion would be that my DVD player is broken…/sniffles I’m gonna miss this one. It’s been with me almost 2 years now...G’bye, Francine.../places DVD player in a whole in the back yard and plays Taps on a trumpet

MM’s Mom: Oi...you’re making your uncle’s dogs bark. Would you quit being so sentimental...it’s just a DVD player! /slams door

...right. So, I’ll probably stop by Wally World for that too tomorrow =___= Woe unto me...verily and thus.

………………………………………….I think that’s all. Night!

Harvest Moon

PS: OH! Yes! I would like to happily inform everyone that today for the first time in a very long time it only too $19.20 to fill up my car when it was on empty! Yes!!! The Puma is rockin’, baby!

Nerd Talk

msmoon: (Voices)
Wow. I just got disengaged from Gillian and it’s 2:15. I’m gonna be sleeping good tonight (and some of tomorrow I’m sure). I left work and hour early because our boss-lady was there, she was staying, and Lacey and I’d finished all our work. I went and had the Puma washed, then came home. We started watching Napoleon Dynamite...it didn’t really hold our interest, though...I must say, it has made Lacey seem a little more freaky though.

We tried to watch anime (Slayers) after that, but we ended up talking so much that I just shut it off. We did watch The Soup though. It’s so nice to have someone to talk to that doesn’t mind your sanity (or lack thereof). She told me a lot about her infamous Brits (Billy Goat & Sephiroth ^_^ ) and how badly she wants to meet them. Consequently, I also want to meet them. They’ve been planning on a trip to England for her, and she said it’d be cool if I could come along as her ‘chaperone’. That would just be so amazing. I’ve always wanted to go across the pond and meet cool British people. As much as I’d love it, I’m not getting my hopes up. Her Mom hasn’t made a final decision, and nothing that good actually happens to me.

The meds are so kicking in now, and I just can’t stare at the computer any longer. Goodnight all.

Harvest Moon

Beware, for I am: Blank Blank

What happened to me last night? I had fully intended to post...really. But then I just got caught up reading fan fics and then the rents were home and before I knew it, it was 10:30 and the combination of warm tea and sleep meds had fully kicked in and I was out. Funny how that happens.

Ok, so there’s several things to touch on.

Work. As of yesterday I started back working part time again, but the boss lady is considering me going full time. Which is good. Also, we have a good candidate for our new full-time nurse, and the boss lady is running checks on her and she will soon be giving her current job a four-week notice. So either way, it looks like we’ll have over a month to wait before we get her in. Also, they’re moving me from my current spot to a desk that’s closer to Nicole, which I like better. My current desk faces the back wall, and I can hear but can’t see when someone comes in. This moves me to a different spot where I’ll be able to see everyone clearly...except for Lacy, who’ll be somewhat behind-catty-corner from me...but that’s ok, because we’re closer, and it won’t take much effort to look over my shoulder at her.

Home. The rents are back! I always enjoy their home coming after a few days trip somewhere else. It makes me appreciate them more...and I think they enjoy having me about as well. Woke up this morning and Dad had gone out and gotten some doughnuts and éclairs for breakfast without making a peep. Ok, he made peeps and all, but they didn’t wake Mom and I, and that’s what matters.

MechaCon.Ok, so no one’s really asked to be written to, so that means I’ll just be writing to Chibi, Reiko, and Jen-Twin-san Saturday night from Mecha Con. Although I probably should check with Twin-san first and make sure I have the right address. She’s moved around so much and I’ve gotten and discarded addresses so often that I’m just not sure any more. I was thinking of taking my Mead Brights thingy because it has a section for a notebook and a thing that holds papers, and then putting that in my FuruBa messenger back (the one that I got at AWA ^.^ Memories). It’ll serve as my nerd gear since I’m taking notebooks and my jellies stationary and pens and all in it. Also, in preparation for Mecha Con, I’ll be cleaning out the junk in my car Wednesday, then after work Thursday, I’ll head over to the car wash and have them clean it inside and out. It only cost about $8 and they vacuum and put air freshener and clean the outside and everything for you. So why not? And it’s been ages since the Puma got some serious cleaning care. Now’s a great time. I should do it more often, but I just don’t think about it.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot. Speaking of Twin-san, I got my shirt in yesterday! It is very spiffy. I wore it all day yesterday, and it fit just right and it wasn’t uncomfortable. So that’s a good shirt. Don’t you hate it when you buy a cool shirt and it either a) Doesn’t fit quite right or 2) isn’t comfortable? I always hate that. I want something cool and practical. And this fits both bills. Which means that after I’ve worn it for years and stretched it out and put stains in it and such, I’ll cut out the collar and cut off the sleeves and keep it as house-wear...I’m such a freak.

So yeah. That’s life thus far. I’ll update the list of things I’m takin’ later. But I kinda wanna check up on everyone else and then get ready for work and all. So later.

A Real Update

2006-Jun-30, Friday 09:18 am
msmoon: (MMEQ - Scruffy)

Beware, for I am: Apathetic Apathetic

Wow...s’been a few days since I posted something in way of an actual entry. I’ve been fairly busy and more than a little tired. But today’s kinda important and plenty of stuff has happened, so I figured I’d go ahead and post.

Today we’re gonna be having our Grand Opening / Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at work. I’ll be taking my camera to work, because I’ll have no better opportunity to do so, and we all know how much MM loves taking pictures. According to the hand out sheet we were given, the ceremony starts at 1 (I get there at 12) and there’s food and drinks and we’re allowed to show friends and family around where we work. The whole process starts at 1 and lasts till 4:30. At 4:30 we go back to business and start cleaning up. I suppose they’re expecting that we wont have much to do today...because I can’t see us accomplishing much with such a schedule...But I don’t really mind. There’s so much to do lately, we could all use a break and a bit of pampering. I can’t wait to go paperless.

In other news: I have installed and will soon be playing EverQuest 2...if I can stand the 11 hour down load -.- So, I got my month’s subscription (cause let’s face it, there’s no use buying a 3-month sub. until or unless you know you’re gonna love it and wanna play it more), and I’m commencing this massive download, when I realize that I haven’t picked up an EQ2 text in months. So, I go over to the site to give myself a refresher course, and while I’m there I just so happen to actually look at the main page. O...m...G! When did they do all these expansions or adventure packs as they’re calling them!? I count six so far...there’s:

  1. Desert of Flames
  2. Kingdom of Sky
  3. The Blood Chronicles
  4. The Splitpaw Saga
  5. The Fallen Dynasty
  6. Echoes of Faydwer

The only ones that look overly appealing to me are the Fallen Dynasty and the Echoes of Faydwer...but that’s because Dynasty has a bit of a Oriental feel and Faydwer allows you to play winged Fea (if I’m reading that right...). So yeah...But anyway. I only got a month subscription because I figure I’ll either love it and want to play more or I wont and then it’ll be over and that’s all there is to that.

That’s all I got for today. I should probably go ahead and start getting ready. We have to bring my car in to get the brakes looked over, so we’re (Mom and I) are gonna leave early and go drop the car off, then she’ll drop me off at work. At least that’s the plan. So. I’ll see ya’ll later. Ja.
