First Ever Nazarene Youth Lock-In
2009-Jun-28, Sunday 02:14 pmHoly Cow. So, we won't be doing another lock-in for a very... very.... VERY long time =..= If only to give ourselves time to forget how grueling it can be. Alicia and I were the only ones who didn't sleep at all. The others stayed up a lot, but each one of them did end up falling asleep, even if it was for a brief period of time. Billy swears he wasn't sleeping, he was on stand-by :) But I'm getting ahead of myself. OK! Let's see.
I got to the church around 4. Alicia had stressed about everything, and thus, showed up mega early to make sure everything was set up. So, I got there and unloaded all the snacks and drinks and such, and then Alicia wen to pick up Takara and Lamarr and their cousin. Well, not too long after she left, the Tyree brothers showed up with their friend Buddy. Billy, Jesse and Julian I knew, but I'd never met Buddy before. He's energetic, and rambunctious, and loud... and after a while, he's really annoying -..- But, they were hanging out and talking and then a few minutes later, Takara and Lamarr show up with their cousin. Their parents had dropped them off o..o' So I texted Alicia to let her know that they were here... and she came back. I should say, Takara's cousin was Timmy, which was confusing because Alicia told me it was a girl named Penny =..= So, essentially, the only girl was Takara.
The boys started playing PS3, and I mean really playing. They played Rock Band first (until the pizza arrived). My parents had shown up then, but I told them they didn't have to stay if they didn't want to, because Dad had only gotten home that morning at 9 and he had been driving for about 2 days =..= So, they left as soon as we were all fed. They reminded me that they were only a phone call away, so that was nice.
The boys hopped back onto the PS3, and Takara jumped on Alicia's computer and played games there. Alicia had brought a game called Dance Dance Dance... which is a Vegie Tales version of Dance Dance Revolution, but it didn't work. The game would run just fine, but the pads that you're supposed to dance on would not. So... that was shot. For a long time, the boys just took turns playing fighting games like Soul Caliber, Call of Duty and...other such games O..o' I lost count of all the games they were playing. At one point, the older boys (the Tyrees and Buddy) got really bored, and they noticed it was raining outside, so they tried to force random members of their own group outside in the rain. I would then stand by the door and say "Oh! He's running around to the other door!" and when they'd race over to the other door to intercept, I'd open the back door and let the guy in -..- guys. After that, they discovered a ping-pong set and used the entire fellowship hall to just smack the ping-pong balls back and forth to each other. Was amusing, if only because they kept trying to keep more than one ball in circulation. ... it wasn't so amusing when they just started throwing the balls at each other -..- again, guys. It's all funny now, but at the time it all just seemed kinda annoying.
Everyone was getting kinda bored with the games. I had forgotten my iPod at my house, so I said I was going to run over and get it. T (Takara) was bored and annoyed with the boys, so I asked her if she wanted to come along for the ride, and she jumped at the chance. She looked around the house, and I showed her the library... and she ended up borrowing Breaking Dawn from me o..o I suppose it's only fair, since I brought that Ultimate Guide to Transformers for Lamarr. So, she got that book and I got Calliope (my iPod) and then we headed back. During our absence, Alicia conducted a small devotional about acceptance (whatevs), and then it was decided that we'd stop playing the games and head upstairs to watch the movies.
We actually put the movies on around 9ish... we struggled with trying to get the sound to work. See, the movies were played in the Sanctuary. We have a projector hooked up to a laptop in there, and so we just put the movies on the laptop and projected them onto the screen.... but the laptop isn't hooked up to the sound booth, so we had to hook speakers onto the laptop and then put a mic between those speakers.... but we couldn't put the mic too close to the speakers, because it would feed back terribly -..- It really didn't help that Buddy would not shut up. He talked almost all the way through Prince Caspian. At one point I told Alicia to just put subtitles up because that would be the only way anyone would be able to know what was being said ... of course, then he started reading the subtitles outloud -..-
After that, there was a 30 minute break in which everyone went to the bathroom and got something to drink (energy drinks) and snacked a bit. We didn't allow them to bring food or drinks into the sanctuary, so of course they had to wait to snack (of course, they probably snuck stuff in >..>). After the break, we started Iron Man which was awesome, as always. I'm fairly certain that T fell asleep during that, and she had borrowed my iPod. She turned it off when she felt herself slipping and just passed out.
We were all pretty tired after that... so, once again, there was about a 30 minute break. Alicia asked me to play some loud music that would wake us all up, and she'd turn the speakers on in the fellowship hall where the food was so that everyone would hear it. So, I played a lot of Thousand Foot Krutch (one of my favorite bands), and that was really energizing. Then Alicia came up and asked if it'd be a good idea to play Mortal Kombat as opposed to The Dark Knight or Hellboy 2, because both of those movies are really long (meaning we'd all probably have a better chance of falling asleep in there) as opposed to MK and MK:A which is maybe an hour and a half at best each. So, we decided on Mortal Kombat, and as a way to signal that we'd soon me starting that movie, I put the Mortal Kombat: Annihilation soundtrack on :D
Jesse and Buddy came running up the stairs and started dancing around, and they were very closely followed by Billy and Julian. It was hilarious to watch them dancing around, because they weren't really trying to dance .... it was more of a ' jump forward while punching straight up in the air' dance.... so it covered a lot of ground and looked very funny.
Anyway, we started the first movie and continued with our '30 minute break in between' routine before starting Mortal Kombat Annihilation. During the break there, I was just sitting in the sanctuary reading... and I hear the floor start to squeak (which means someone has entered the sanctuary) and I look behind me and Jesse and Julian are sneaking around, ducking behind furniture and making their own dramatic spy theme music. There was a part where Julian ran by on all fours and then ducked and rolled behind a pue... I thought I'd die laughing. But the point was that at some point, Jesse had brought up a can of Mountain Dew, and they were trying to sneak it back out... I was so amused by their antics I couldn't be angry at them for breaking the no food/drink rule =..= I'm a bad disciplinarian. But, after that we put the MK:A movie on....I think Alicia had tried to sleep a little, because she had intended to start cooking breakfast around 8, but wanted to sleep some first. She didn't really manage it, so she just decided to go downstairs and cook breakfast right then so that it'd be done whenever the movie was over.
She and I were the only ones that didn't sleep at all.... the older boys were all awake by the end, but they had napped a bit during the movie. And Takara and Lamarr were OUT. Dead to the world and all. So, while I was hooking up my iPod to the sound system to play some stirring music, Buddy ran downstairs, got some of my fingernail polish (I'd brought it for Takara, in case she wanted a manicure or something) ran back upstairs and painted some of Lamarr's toes =..= Was funny when Lamarr woke up, but at the time I just kept wondering why Buddy was running around laughing like a maniac >..>
Alicia cooked breakfast and we all headed down to eat. She had made boy-scout breakfast, which is a pound of potatoes, a dozen eggs, a pound of bacon and a pound of cheese all stirred together in one skillet. She also made biscuits, which I thought were awesome :) The kids settled in the youth's Sunday School room to talk and eat together... but afterwards, when we asked them whether they wanted to watch Hellboy 2 or The Dark Knight, they couldn't make up their minds. So, Alicia and I decided to start the clean up process and we made them stay there and play the quiet game.
I put Harvey on in the Sanctuary upstairs after I made sure that everything was picked up off the floor and then went downstairs to see what needed to be done. I have to say...The kids did stay there and they were fairly quiet (the game was that if anyone made a noise, the entire room could smack them on the rear... that was Alicia's idea =..=), and I washed all the dishes (by hand, because a lot of them really needed it and Alicia still hadn't unloaded the dishwasher) and Alicia swept. She got the kids to help her arrange the tables in the middle of the fellowship hall, and then they all went up to the sanctuary to get their stuff... somewhere along the way, Alicia told them that Harvey was up there cleaning and not to get in his way... so they all got their stuff, but then they just sat there and watched Harvey bump into things o..o it was really funny to see them so enthralled by my vacuum :D I realized that everyone yells at the roomba too, because they kept yelling, "Harvey! Come back here! You missed a spot!"
Anyway, I finished up the dishes and cleared off all the counters, putting trash in the trash can and putting food where it was supposed to go. Then I wiped off the counter tops. After that, I got the old vacuum out off the cabinet and vacuumed the youth room. I went up stairs to watch Harvey, and Alicia made the kids find all the ping-pong balls and put the set back in the youth room where it belonged. After we checked everything, we turned off the lights and air and then locked up and it was all over.
I know I headed home and showered... I do not remember much of it. But I wasn't feeling good at all... so I took my pills along with half of a muscle relaxer and slept for quite a while. Mom called me for supper, but after I'd eaten and talked with them a bit, I ambled back over to my place. I didn't want to sleep because I was afraid it'd mess up my sleep schedule, but I really wasn't awake enough to do much.
Today I am almost just as exhausted as I was yesterday =..= So, like I said, we're gonna be waiting a long long time before we do this again... if only so we can remember why we shouldn't. I do intend to have another movie night some time in August before school starts... but other than that, we really don't have any definitive plans for the youth at this point. We're just happy to have survived this event :)
I guess that's all... My account for the days of the lock-in are finished and I've nothing more to add :) Later, Sunshines.

And the Rocket’s Red Glare
2008-Dec-31, Wednesday 10:34 pmNot to put a dampener on anyone’s celebration, but good God, people...must you really impersonate cannon fire every time there’s an all-night celebration? Really? Somehow, I feel a kinship with the beach at Normandy...
Ok...no reason to make this all sour-grapes. Today was not one of my better days. Pretty much all morning and most of the afternoon I spent not feeling well at all. I tried taking that Emergen-C stuff, and it really didn’t help that much. But we left Grandmere’s around 12 something for Raising Cane’s, where we met my cousin Angel. After lunch with her, we headed to Wal-Mart for a thing or two we needed, then to the mall where we got some stuff at Bath and Body and JCPenny’s. Then, we headed to Aunt Batty’s house. She was making supper - beef and potato stew with corn, green beans and rice. We hung out till it was time for supper, and now we’re full and I’m bedded down for the night. Mom and Aunt Batty are watching movies. I figured I’d take this time to post, last post of the year.
The internet connection isn’t great here, it comes and goes. But I’ve been able to keep myself occupied at least. Now that I’ve had my shower, I feel much better. Problem is, I’m really sleepy, and between the fireworks and the dogs barking, I’ll probably not get much before 1 =..= Oi vey. Still, we’ve been welcomed into both homes we stayed in, so at least that was nice. I think we may be headed to my Aunt Carolyn’s tomorrow...I dunno. I, personally, would be content to stay here for the remainder of our stay...but that’s just me.
I’ll go ahead and sign off now. I can’t keep a thought in my head for more than 5 seconds...good indication to shut ‘er down. Night, Sunshines.

You Bring the Thanks Giving, I'll Bring the Christmas
2008-Nov-20, Thursday 02:41 pm...so I was totally fooled. I mean, I expected the “We’ll buy you lunch wherever you want!” thing, so when they brought it up, it was a no brainer thing. But then, Mrs. Ellen shows up...and half the office leaves with just me, the nurses and Mrs. Ellen. And, I’m kinda thinking, “Why is everyone always so phobic about eating with Mrs. Ellen around?”. But then, Donna and Gigi come in carrying boxes and boxes of food from Piccadilly! They decided to throw a party and have Thanksgiving early! Which, is great, because I had brought their gifts which I’d intended for Christmas. Then, they tell me they have gifts for me too! I was so surprised!
So, we eat some ham and green beans and stuffing and deviled eggs, and pecan pie, and Watergate salad and...well, you get the idea. And then I open the girls’ gift for me, and it’s a little silver bracelet that has a heart locket with written prayers inside the locket! I was so touched! And then! Mrs. Ellen gives me a present from her and ‘Rick’ her hubby (my other boss). I unwrap it and look at the box...I blink, I look at different parts of the box, and I ask aghast, “This isn’t what’s on the outside of the box is it?” and she’s like “Yes! It is!” and I kinda gaped because it was a Trutech 7" Digital photo frame :-O!!! ZOMG, anyone? Z!O!M!G! I was so shocked because...well, those things aren’t cheap! I had been thinking of getting one, but...I dunno. There was always something cheaper I could get, you know? So I never got one for myself! It’s just so sweet!
So...I had an errand to run, right? Well, after taking a million pictures and giving them their gifts (which they cracked up about! G got the Maxine Desk calendar, and Donna got a “wet floor” sign that says “Caution: Hot Flash Zone”. But the other girls all got ‘desk cones’ that say things! Lori got “It is our company’s policy to blame the computer”. Dena got “Service will depend upon my mood and your attitude.” Lenda got “Save time. See it my way.” Nicole got, “Give me my coffee and nobody gets hurt.” And Mrs. Sandra got “Step Away from my Desk.”. They’re all so funny!), it was decided that I’d take the food home with me. So, I did, and when I got back…I got a call from Donna...she was downstairs and she said she needed something. So I go down there, and the girls downstairs have a card and a cookie cake for me O..O’ I was shocked there too. It was nice and I thanked them, and had a piece and talked and all, and then I rushed upstairs and...was so out of breath!
SO much had happened! I had to settle myself down to write it out and then settle down even more to get back to work! Needless to say I’ve been writing in between …uh…headaches? Meh...I’m tired, but I’m also cranked at the same time O..o how does that happen? I’m just so giddy about all the well wishes, and I knew that they would miss me and all, but...this was so much more than I expected...I’m so glad I got the chance to work with everyone here. I feel so blessed.
...I still can’t wait for 5 though, just so I can have a chance to show off my gifts! :-D

Just Keep Swimming
2008-Nov-20, Thursday 10:23 amWelcome to the longest week of my life. Man, it’s just been insane. Work’s intense because I’m always tied to my screen for hours and taking random breaks only when it feels like my head will explode. Thank goodness it actually paid off, because I’m caught up quite a bit now. I’ve also been writing guides to tasks that only I do...that’s always fun.
I went out and got Scamp Saturday. The drive was fun, but my house was being whittled down little by little in the 4 hours it took. My parents had moved everything from upstairs into the shed and many of the things I just didn’t need as well. My mattress was on the floor downstairs. During the down-time we had when my parents were busy with...something else…Scamp and I exchanged birthday gifts! She loved her gifts and I was sooo happy! I got her the Hoard key chain and made it into a necklace, and I got her a Figure Print of Fallena! It was so awesome! And she loved it and stared at it in awe for a long long time. Scamp was...uh, a little disappointed when one of my gifts didn’t really work out. She and Bear had gotten me a beautiful necklace of an owl flying with a moonstone in it’s claws, but she’d also gotten me this tank that has fake jellyfish in it...but, the pump for the tank didn’t work so the jellyfish just sank to the bottom of the tank -..- so yeah, she was disappointed. I loved the necklace though! I told her, “I shall call him ‘Jareth’ and he shall be mine :-D!”. That night was miserable, because my dad’s snoring is unholy...and since we were all sleeping in the same room, that really came into play that night.
Sunday, after church, we all went to Subway. Tried that new Chicken Pizziola or whatever it’s called...it wasn’t bad. Just…not something I’d go out of my way for. When we got home, Mom and Dad had packed up to leave for New Orleans, but the battery on Dad’s truck died. So he had to go to town and get a new one. But once that was done, Scamp and I were pretty much on our own. The geek fest began and much talking and giddy babbling commenced.
Monday was a little harsh...work was just so intense after the more busy than usual weekend. Also, at this point, everyone’s panicked because they realize it’s my last week. Monday and Tuesday went by pretty much the same. I was so very very tired, and went home to talk more with Scamp and vaguely pay attention to Bones. We packed as much as we could, but even when we were doing that, we were talking so much it was like we weren’t working. My parents actually got back from N.O. that afternoon, but they were staying with my Aunt Carolyn for the night. And, yesterday, I canceled my DSL for the 20th, and then later that day, Scamp tells me that they unhooked the computer and packed the wires in a box =..= so yeah...work’s the only way to post aside from Voice Post...which may happen tomorrow ^..^ Scamp managed to crank out some seriously awesome WoW fan fiction too. I dunno if it's cause we just talk about our character so much or because here she can relax a bit more or what, but it was awesome! And just in time too, because my parents showed up to pack everything just after she finished =..=
Oh! And I found something I desperately wanted. I’ve been wanting a mac for so long, but I can’t afford it. Aaaand, I’d been wanting to get a lap top too, because…well, sometimes I shut my computer off and late at night I get ideas to write...and I’d just like to have a laptop. Especially since my Dad was saying there are two colleges in the town and I might go back to college again o..o But anyway! I looked on Amazon.com to see if there were any good laptops that weren’t too highly priced. Well, I found a pretty awesome MacPro...and it’s about $700 (yes, it’s considered used, but it’s ‘Like New’ so I’m sorta ok with that!), which for a Mac is really awesome! So, I was thinking of saving up my next two checks as much as possible (which is what I’d be doing anyway) and spending my money on that...Merry Christmas to Me, you know? It’d be nice...
Oh, and last night, after class, everyone had a little party for me with this awesome cake and everything! It was funny because they gave me the cutting knife, and I sorta twirled the handle a bit so that the point was facing downward and just stabbed in the center of the cake, and everyone who was watching went, “Whoa!” After we ate and went over to join the others that were sitting about, C.J. asked me “So, did you get any more s words?” and I was like, “S words? Like…Salamander? Or...Sincere?” and he was like, “No! Swords!” and I was like. “oh....” only a minute later did I get S Words put together equals Swords...kinda like Flo Rida, put together is Florida. Yeah -..- I was tired. But yeah. I told him that I’d found the Halo Sword on Amazon...and that I had a whole Wish List dedicated to various swords and weapons...he was thrilled, but I’m not quite sure why O..o Funny how it amazes me to meet someone just as geeky as I am...in a place where I thought I knew how everyone already was before.
So...today Reiko comes over. The girls said that they’re treating me to Zen’s (well, they said it was my choice so booya :-D.). There are still things to worry about...but I kinda don’t want to anymore. I’m so tired and I can’t. So I’m just going to give the girls at work their Christmas/Going Away presents and have fun and enjoy my last few days here. I even brought my camera today to mark the occasion. I don’t have enough pictures of the girls as far as I’m concerned. So that’s all I’m worried about today. I do still need a change of address form, and to talk to my Edward Jones guy, but I’m thinking that’s something I might be able to squeeze in today and tomorrow. I’ll just have to check. But I refuse to worry about it.
I guess I’m off again. I was taking a little brain break because in the little time I’ve had sitting down I manage to get 7 pages of stats done =..= I can’t wait till 5. So, I’m off again, Sunshines.

Heart Check, Plans Check, Party CHECK!
2008-Aug-14, Thursday 03:13 pmNow, I’m slightly stressed. Ok, so, I was gonna call up the Ford place, and get my car scheduled for a tune up, and repair the CD player and all that? Well, Mom calls and she says they got these coupons in the mail from our local Ford place (the place I bought my car, no less), and it’s like $35 for an oil & filter change, and $99 for break service….which, Mom says is a good rate, and since I’m not up on car&driver, I assume she’s right. Well, I get the coupons, and I look on them….the expiration date is 8/20/08 O..O’’ Um, yeah. So, I had to call this morning and get an appointment on the 18th for 8:30. Only problem?....I don’t get paid till the 22nd. Now, I’ve got money in my account and all...but, I just don’t know how much everything will cost. So, I called Mom in a panic, telling her about the coupons and everything and she said she’d send me the credit card and I could pay them back =..= This morning was stressful!
Oh, and I mentioned to G that I was looking for a tailor / Seamstress in Houma to help me make a costume. I really…REALLY want to go as Harley Quinn. If only to say, that once in my life, I Cosplayed Harley Quinn. She said that her sister was a retired seamstress and might help me with that. Of course, I had no money for it now, but after the road trip, I can start saving up for it. It’s just good to know your options. I discussed it with Reiko, and asked if she’d want to go as Poison Ivy, and she nearly exploded. Was definitely funny. So now I'm looking at accessories online, to see what I can get to go with the costume...but, no wig for me, thanks. I am so letting my hair grow...maybe even coloring it too...I know G can't wait for that! It’s a little weird, because we’re planning on going as Harley and Ivy…and we don’t go to any comic-like cons =..=’ But it’s all in good fun.
Oh, and last night was Bubba’s goodbye party. He’s joined a program called Master’s Commission, and he’s going off to Florida, where his Mom is, and he’s going to be serving in Master’s Commission for 9 months. I finally got the chance to give him Indiana (the dagger I got for him for his birthday). We had a lot of fun at the party…but that was because, Celeste, Kayla, Mike, Miranda, Stump and I all went in another room and sat and ate our food there. We cracked each other up so much, and it was such silly things that I don’t even remember what we were laughing about. Oh, and Bubba loved Indy…or at least I think he did. He might’ve just been so delighted to get a gift when he wasn’t expecting one. But it was good fun…either way.
...I can’t think of anything else…I certainly hope that’s everything. Later, Sunshines!

Mecha Con Whirlwind
2008-Aug-05, Tuesday 11:30 amHoly crow….I think I might actually be recovered from the con (or well on my way)...I’m still sorta tired, but…I’m always tired.
Saturday, we dragged ourselves out of bed around 9 to go to Vs. A Leo. We ended up walking in just as they started (thanks to Reiko and Reign’s smoke breaks). Talk about hilarious. I don’t know how they end up with come-backs so quickly, but those two guys are hilarious. After an hour of amusing ourselves with that, we headed back out (because Emphysema and Bronchitis needed their fix again). We hung out (invariable going to the dealers room or just walking around) till 1, and I went to see the panel called 15 Years of Sailor Moon…..which…..ended up frustrating me, and I just left that panel early.
There was more hanging out till about 4ish, when we headed down to the bus area. The cosplay competition had gotten so big, they actually reserved Angelle Hall on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus. Talk about madness. We got in on the second bus (first seats), and the lobby of the hall was full when we got there, and I’m fairly sure two more buss loads were dropped off. Then they opened the doors O..O I managed to scamper down and get us seats on the edge of the 6th row to the far right side. Finally, it seemed like everyone got seated and situated.
Then they made us wait an hour. But of course, we’re anime fans…and most of us are kids to boot. So we didn’t just sit quietly. First there was singing, clapping, everything we could do to keep ourselves entertained. Then, the guys in the back who control the lights, sound and everything in the auditorium used one of those red laser lights and he was pointing out things on the stage….well, it turns out someone else…brought a laser light. Two to be precise. There was one red one and one green one, and they would chase each other around on the walls and ceiling. Then the guys in back made the spot light chase them around. There was music, and eventually dancing by everyone in the auditorium, but…it stopped when someone stupid got on the stage. Yeah. But then we all sat down and watched the laser lights ^..^ Twas funny.
The cosplay competition was good. I got it all on Zeiss, but for some odd reason, none of the pictures Reiko took came out. But it was pretty awesome, and I did get it on DVD at least. There was a “Dating Game” thingy in between the competition and the awards (so that we don’t all go stir crazy again), and there was a “Het” Round and a “Yaoi” round =..= Oddly enough, the Yaoi round was funnier, but I didn’t record it! So yeah. I wanted to have room on the DVD for the awards and stuff, so I didn’t record that, but you know. Whatever. The memories will still rock.
We went back to the hotel (after waiting for the buss for 35 minutes) and I went to sleep. Reiko, on the other hand, went to the “Mecha Con House Party/Rave”. Then she went and swam with some guys (though the pool was closed so they had to jump the fence. A storm rolled in though. So they came back to their hotel rooms….at 4:30 in the morning =..= Evidently Reiko had met a guy named Gaven that night, and they all agreed to go and eat sushi during the “happy hour” between 10 and 2. They agreed to meet at 11…….But see, they were all exhausted. I woke up and got ready around 10ish, and Reign knocked on my door around 11 telling me that Reiko needed to get up now because they’d all agreed to go out for sushi….She was ready by 11:40 but…there was no sign of Gaven. I found out that Gaven is the “Local Fraternity Rich Kid” and he knows all the local restaurants and what’s good…and plus he was really freakin’ awesome. So yeah, they really liked hanging around with him. He did show up around 12ish, and we went through the dealers room one more time (Gaven wanted a hentai shirt and Reiko got a black Yoshi plushy), and then we headed all the way across town…to find that sushi places are closed on Sundays. I knew this, but I guess I figured that, you know, maybe not all of them adhered to this. So, we ended up going to Chili’s for breakfast (of course, by the time we got there and ordered it was around 1:40). But after much toil and sorrow we got our food and were happy. At this point, we were having such fun hanging out that I decided to blow off whatever panels I might've wanted to go to that day. Who needs the con when you've got cool people, right?
After eating and goofing off a bit, we headed back to the hotel, and instead of prolonging the inevitable, we decided to go ahead and start packing up to leave. I’d gotten a text from Scamp, but my phone was on silent so…yeah. I texted back asking if she could show up in the lobby around 3:45. She said they might be a little late, but they’d be there. We headed down, and the boys were good to help us with the luggage cart. I told them to go ahead and take the luggage out and I’d check out. After check out, I walked out to the parking lot to find Gaven on the luggage cart (surfing it) with Reign pushing the cart, and Reiko trailing behind holding Reign’s leash…..these crazy kids are so much fun. We stopped outside (after turning in the luggage cart) and they took a smoke break ….and stalked Master Roshi. Reiko had gotten some new pants that say “I *heart* Kyo”, and who better to take a naughty picture with than Master Roshi, right? So, Master Roshi finally came back (they’d seen him pass already), and Reiko got her picture with him.
Needless to say the pictures from the trip are great….even if there aren’t enough of them. True, Facebook’s stupid 60-Picture limit would hinder anything more than the 125 we had, but it’d make a great album. I was thinking of buying a couple of matching albums and printing out the pictures so Reiko and I can have the ultimate memento. It’d be awesome…it’s just…to find the right one, ya know?
Sunday after the con is a blur really. I know that Scamp showed up and then we drove home. I uploaded pics to MySpace right away, but couldn’t edit them all….the internet kept crashing >..< Oh well. I’ll get around to it. Anyway, I went to bed late, not because I wasn’t tired, but because I was so tired I couldn’t rest. I tried to read a bit (and since I bought a crap-load of manga, that worked nicely for me ^..^). Monday was terrible. I wasn’t feeling good and I was zonked from the whirlwind weekend. After work (which just dragged by), I went over to my Aunt Carolyn’s house to eat. Mom and Dad had gotten in from Arkansas, and Aunt Carolyn had cooked jambalaya and white beans. I ate and was very happy.
After getting home, I got a call from Reiko. She said she’d been talking to Reign and Gaven and they were telling her about another convention coming up in December called Louisianime. She didn’t have internet though, so she was wondering if I could look for it for her. And since I put that link right there up, I’m gonna assume you all figured out that I found it =..= It turns out it’s May 8-10, 2009 at the Marriot in Baton Rouge….which is better time-wise, because she wants to cosplay as Seras Victoria from Hellsing. I still don’t know if I’ll be going…but it’d be more realistic if it’s next year and all. I’ve already taken off all the days I can this year.
….I think Reiko stole my cereal…But yeah! That was our Mecha Con Experience. I’m pretty certain that if I got next year, I’ll be reserving a suite for Thursday through Monday so that I can get there nice and easy and then leave whenever I want ^..^ I didn’t really do that much damage swag-wise either. I ended up with 4 hacky sacks that have cute anime-ish faces on them, my two Mokona’s (one white and one black), Volumes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 of W Juliet and Volumes 3, 5, and 6 of Kara Kano (there was a special...8 manga for $60 ^..^). Yayness. I now have absolutely no money =..= But Friday is payday. I shall be paying bills though so…yeah. I’m keeping it simple for the next couple of weeks. Luckily, I don’t kneed much.
I guess that’s all for now. Later, Sunshines!

Trevor’s Party
2008-Mar-04, Tuesday 10:06 am
We got to Lori’s house and changed and then after Dena and Lori spent a few minutes in front of the make up mirror, we headed over to Academy and bought him a $40 gift card, then we went to Walgreens and got him a birthday card (and Lori and Dena loitered about). We got to the place around 6:45 even though we had wanted to show up a little earlier. But it didn’t really matter, because Trevor’s wife had called and said they’d be a little late because Trevor was being sludge and didn’t want to go out. He didn’t get to the party till around 7:25ish. By then, we had all been eyeing the tables with food longingly.
The restaurant we went to was called Melvin’s. It’s way out of the way, but it’s on the water and they had the whole back patio area secluded for our party, along with a little …stone way that was down from the elevated patio where a dance floor was set up with a DJ (although I must say, the huge statue of the angle in the middle of the dance floor was awfully…disconcerting).
When Trevor finally walked back there we all yelled the customary “Surprise!” and then everyone from the ISR PT that he works out yelled out “Holy Macerole!....Eh? Eh? Eh? Eh?” I swear they started sounding like those seagulls from Finding Nemo with those eh’s at the end there. It was amusing though. Everyone broke to go and eat, and the food was very good. Rolls and breads of every type along with a spinach salad and some shrimp and honey mustard dip; a whole haunch of beef (which was delicious), a fruit and vegetable platter (respectably), some rice and two types of soup – crawfish & white bean soup (which was excellent) and Hawaiian pork and peanut soup (which, I did not try).
All of the food I ate was excellent, and in fact I did go back to that fruit tray several times if only because the pineapple and strawberries were so good. I ate so much pineapple, my mouth was throbbing I don’t know if that happens to anyone else, but when I eat pineapple and I eat too much of it, my tongue and eventually my whole mouth hurts. The strawberries were good too.
After eating it was time to open gifts, most of which were gag gifts, but he did get our gift certificate and guitar hero, so it wasn’t all jokes. Then began the dancing. Now...I enjoy dancing. I do not enjoy large crowds. So dancing in the middle (or about) a large crowd is something I do not enjoy. Therefore, other than showing Lori what few moves I have (she seems incapable of learning how to move to the music on her own...). Everyone was shocked when I informed them of the terms and actual words in the song Soulja Boy, as they had never heard it before and didn’t understand it anyway. And I got the chance to observe many of the down-stairs PT girls dancing...I have fully realized the effects of alcohol and how it affects judgment and coordination. After joking around with my coworkers and boss and watching the girls dance (with their children) we decided to leave. It was around 10ish at that point, though I’ve no idea where the time went.
The event, though not my usual scene, was a pleasant one. If anyone were to try to throw a birthday party like that for me, I’d kill them. I much rather a few good friends come over and visit than have some huge gala event. To me, it’s just suffocating. But that’s me. I didn’t get to bed till sometime after midnight, and I slept till noon ^..^

I am alive, I swear
2007-Oct-12, Friday 12:47 pm
We didn’t exactly sleep in Saturday. I believe it was around 8 when we got up. While I’m used to sleeping in till around 9/10, I knew I’d need time to wake up, and then I’d be off to town to pick up the trays I’d ordered with a few drinks.
And that’s pretty much exactly how it happened. I learned that if you’re going to pay for a tray for a party, they start at a bare minimum of $40. Sam’s gave us a nice croissant sandwich tray, and from Chick-Fil-A we got the Large cheesecake tray (sinfulness, anyone?).
We actually had everything ready around 12; partially because I’m OCD that way & partially because Misty had said she needed to come early. In fact, everyone showed up late. Reiko had called around 12, telling us she’d be a little late. Dena, one of our three nurses, showed up first around 2:20 with her two daughters Erin & Casey. Reiko followed around 2:30, & Lori and Lenda (our other two nurses) showed up around 2:45. Misty and Lacey did not attend.
I welcomed everyone, gave a small tour, had Happy Birthday sung to me, talked, opened gifts and then let Reiko take over the entertainment...which worked well, since she has no shame ^..^
Over all, my gifts include a $90 Wal-Mart gift card from my CoWorkers, 1 plant shipped over via delivery service from my boss, 2 movies (While you were Sleeping & The Princess Bride) from Chibi, 1 painted pony and a beta fish from Reiko, a Moon fairy figure from Scamp, the Black Beauty figure from my Twin, and 2 Beta fish in a beautiful bowl with a calla lily on top and a rock fountain from Mom. O..O Pretty decent birthday haul if I do say so myself. I named my three betas Lincoln, Blinkon and Nodd (Lynx, Blinky and Noddy).
Sunday was crash day. I remember very little about Sunday when I first think about it. I know we went to Taco Bell after church, then I blew my gift card @ Wal-Mart. Aside from the many groceries (and a new bowl for Noddy), I got a bunch of movies which include: 300, The Prestige, Transformers the Movie, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Ghost Rider, and Labyrinth. Indeed, not a bad haul at all ^..^ After we got back, Scamp showed me Fable, which I think, if I had the computer game, I’d like.
We then watched Labyrinth...which put the Goblin King on my ‘List of Guilty Pleasures’. This movie quickly became another one of my obsessions. I should’ve known I’d love it since I love all things Jim Hinson. But honestly, David Bowie is not on my list of hot guys, but damn! Him as Jareth I’ll take any day. I think it’s the cool clothes and makeup/hair...especially those pants...I told the girls at work that I watched it 3 times before I really looked at his face. I mean seriously, either those pants are super spandex two sizes too small or someone invested in a very large potato…
Monday wasn’t my best day. I wasn’t really feeling well, poor Noddy finally kicked the bucket (R.I.P., Noddy =..=’), and we took Scamp to be picked up by her parents. After that, I came home, showered and watched Labyrinth in Japanese. What? I said it was a new obsession!
Tuesday was a dull blur. Even my coworkers pointed out that I’ve been extremely quiet. Wednesday, I bought 3 LSU shirts, beings as we’ve officially switched from wearing Saints shirts on Friday. I also bought proper food for Lynx and Blinky, along with water diclorinator. And my Roomba came in. I’ve named him Harvey ^..^
Last night, I finally got all my movies over from my Mom’s house. I went through them, and what I could put in the stand, I did…then I realized (after seeing there was about 20 movies that wouldn’t fit), that they would fit perfectly between the sloping wall and the floor…so I stacked them that way…….it looked kinda cool. With my new movies, I now have about 139 movies in my movie collection (and that doesn’t include my Anime/Box set collection).
I actually love living alone. I’m sure at some point I’ll get tired of it, but as for right now…I’m enjoying my house. After work today, I’ll be doing some laundry (towels & sheets I hope), taping some more of Supernatural - season 2 for my cousin, and picking up wires and clutter so that Harvey can do his first job and vacuum my living room. I’m just glad it’s Friday. And that’s all for now, sunshines. Later.

I finally finished chapter 1 of my story, and I printed everything out and put it in its own binder so it doesn’t look like stray pages now. I need to make more profiles so that Scamp can have stuff to draw when she wants to...not that she doesn’t have several of her own projects (and mine) already...it would just be better it those profiles were done already.
Today at work was so fun. The tech dudes had to come over to work on our computers for some odd reason. Kamilla had bought me a birthday cake since she won’t be able to make it to my party tomorrow, and we’d all eaten some. I guess we were on a sugar high or something. But we did a lot of giggling. Jason (main tech dude) asked Lori if the QA file was on the tower, and I said “That’s like me asking you about Star Wars.” And Lori said, “Yeah, that’s like me asking you about Panties and if they’re having a sale at Victoria Secret soon.” And Jason perked up and said “What? Panties?” And that began so many thigns.
He finished up on one computer and when he was working on Lenda’s computer (which’s right next to mine), he asked “So what type of panties do you wear?” and I said, “That’s assuming I do wear panties. I prefer to wear my boyfriend’s boxers. It’s more amusing when he tries to wear my underware though.” To which he replies “TMI!” I later said something about how we got the cake because it’s so hard to maintain this figure but I have to manage somehow (I am not thin), and he said, “My wife says I have the body of a god.” And I yelled “Budah!” He looked at me and said “And I said ‘worship me’!”. Then he said, “I’d forgotten how much fun I had coming over here.”
So today was fun. I am now having fun singing along (or whispering along) to my Weird Al songs ^..^ Tonight, I clean for tomorrow’s party. Later, Sunshines!

Serious Progress
2007-Sep-22, Saturday 10:48 pm*pant pant pant* Ok, finished as in the floor is done. We’ve been moving a few things in little by little, but I’m far from moved in. Dad said the toilet isn’t done, the trim isn’t done, it’s not at all clean, and no major things have been moved in (bed, clothes, fandoms, etc). I’m just excited to finally see it done. I actually woke up pretty early for a Saturday. It was around 8:30, and I was very hungry, so I went outside and asked Dad if he wanted some eggs. He’s infamous for having 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter anywhere between 4 and 6 in the morning and then working till 10 and starving. He said he’d love some, so I fixed coffee, bacon, four eggs (two for each of us) and some toast (to sopp up the eggs). We had breakfast and then got ready to leave for town.
We priced toilets and doors, and then realized that Dad hadn’t taken measurements for the wall or toilet seat, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to buy a toilet without precise measurements. We looked at doors, but I knew we weren’t getting anything. Everything’s so expensive, so we’re just going to saw off part of the bottom of the door and re-attach the bottom with some sort of sealer. Dad seems to know what he’s doing, so I’ll just let him figure it out.
We came home, and I was excited because season 2 of Bones finally came in. After eating we started putting the shelf liner in, and then loading up the shelves with my glasses, cups, mugs and plates. Mom and Dad had to go back to town (for the toilet and some other things). I stayed and put up my fans, and my chairs (those that I could carry that is), and some of the other little things that would go in the kitchen and bathroom, along with the gifts that I’ve got wrapped for Christmas and birthdays. I tried to assemble my DVD cabinet...but evidently I can’t wrap my head around the directions =..= Mom and Dad came back with a new toilet and Mom helped me put liner in the rest of the cabinets. We also cleaned up a bit more, or tried to. We keep tracking stuff in as we come in and out, so it’s hard to keep the place clean. Mom and Dad had to leave again, so I tried to load in as many stuff full of boxes as I could, but there were some things that were just too heavy.
I unloaded as much as I could till it started getting dark. Then, I came home and showered. I’ve been watching Supernatural ever since. Though, I did manage to come up with a list of products that I regularly buy for future use. Dad has said he’ll try to get my bed and other heavy items in on Monday, so I’ll probably be moved in by then if nothing goes wrong /crosses fingers.
Now I’m going to have my mid-night snack and then o to bed. I’ve been trying to finish up this entry for the past 2 hours, so..I’m gonna go ahead and close this out and hit the hey. Later, sunshines.

RSVP Please
2007-Aug-15, Wednesday 12:26 pm
This morning hasn’t been much better. I still have a headache clinging to me and I feel all disoriented, but my stomach seems to be better…or maybe ‘not as bad’ is a better description. I did turn down a piece of cookie cake (one of my favorites) because I just can’t see eating it with my stomach being all…weird. I’ve noticed that my right eye is starting to jump as well =..= It does that from time to time, but it’s done it more in the past three days than it has in a whole year. It’s just odd.
Now, switching gears entirely...I’ve decided to throw a birthday/house warming party on my birthday. So on October 6 I will open up my house to my friends and family. Gifts are not required, of course, it’s much more fun to just have a visit and show everyone my new house. Oh, and if you’re reading this, then you’re invited ^..^ Just please RSVP by commenting or something. I know most of you can’t make it, and that’s fine. I’ll post pictures as soon as I can. But, by that time, everything essential should be done...I doubt that my dad’ll be able to work on the house much the first weekend he’s in, but the second weekend will probably be a great time to get the painting done. If what Mom said about him wanting to get the flooring done is true, then I’ll be in by early to mid September. That gives me enough time to make sure everything’s moderately decorated. I’m not expecting gifts because...well, the only people that absolutely buy gifts for me are my parents and Scamp…and my parents have fixed up a house for me. So yeah, not expecting anything. If I do have money left over, I’m gonna buy at least one of the BookWyrms I posted about a while ago.
OMG! I almost forgot! Amazon.com contacted me to tell me that my TV stand order was canceled. Evidently the place that I tried to buy it from couldn’t find one, even though they had it on Amazon that they did have one. So I had to scramble over and see if I had enough money to get it from another vendor. Talk about upsetting. Although, Pyramid did contact me to tell me that my calendar was also shipped. That’s good. Now the only other things I have coming in that I haven’t been notified about are the napkin holder, incense burner box, futon and chairs.
I’m still feeling bad...My boss seems to suspect that I have some sort of flue =..= Whatever. I’m too tired to argue. And my head is really starting to hurt again, so I’ll go ahead and close this out. I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

She opened all her gifts and was very greatful. Though I must admit, the highlight was hearing stories from our Olly’s. Anyone ever see that Sunset Tan on E!? Well they have two girls, Molly and Holly, and we have two girls like that downstairs. They say they’re the ‘Olly’s’ of this establishment. They are funny, though I’m pretty sure they don’t always mean to be.
What was funny was when I was going to get my piece of cake, and I told them it might’ve been better if we he 2 knive so that we wouldn’t have people on either side of the cake waiting to get a slice. Then I mentioned that they didn’t want to give me a knife. When Olly #1 said something about that I told them “Oh that’s right. No one’s told ya’ll about my swords and knives that I’m collecting.” Then I proptely when to hand her the knife and she took a step back, eyeing the knife carefully before taking it. Twas funniness XD
Oh well. Since we all had lunch together I didn’t take my lunch break….oh, maybe I can take hour & a half lunch breaks for the next two days ^..^ That’d be coolness. I shall scheme to do that. But don’t tell no one.

Midland. The Midland (please don't confuse with "Midwest") itself is the neutral zone between the North and South. But just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from there. Since it is considered a neutral, default, "non-regional" accent you could easily be from someplace without its own accent, like Florida, or a big city in the South like Dallas, Houston, or Atlanta.

Southern. Love it or hate it, your accent says you're probably from somewhere south of the Ohio River.

Oh, another cool note to touch on. Mom went over to my Aunt Carolyn’s Sunday after lunch. But Dad wasn’t feeling good. So, he and I stayed home, ate ice creame and watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding. OMG, that was histericle. I never get tired of that show! And Dad and I laughed so much through the whole thing. And the fact that I was watching this chick flik with Dad, and he enjoyed it just as much as Mom and I, makes it so much funnier.
Oh, Scamp finally sent me the 4th chapter of her story. And since I got my new black print cartridge, I decided to reformat the Scamp Binder. So now, I have an index of the story followed immediately by the story, then I have a divider and her character descriptions, followed by another divider and her races. It looks all official and crap and I’m very pleased with it ^___^.
Other than all that, nothing much is going on...I love my new furniture. Things are tiring, but we still make them fun somehow. See ya’ll later, Sunshines.

It was terribe out too. I mean, it’s Spring and it’s upwards of 80 degrees out there. I blasted the AC and sweat whenever I was walking from my car to and from places. Though, I remember Chris Franklin (weather guy on channel 8) saying that we’d have a cool front tomorrow morning come through. That’s encouraging.
Oh, tomorrow is Nicole’s birthday, and we’re gonna throw Lacey a ‘going away party’ too, since it’s the last day we’ll all be together. Nicole is taking Thursday and Friday off...so we’ve got Lacey getting Nicole her birthday gift, and Nicole is brainstorming about what to get Lacey...weird no? And hectic. I’d thought we’d have till Friday to plan Lacey’s shindig, but since Nicole won’t be here, we decided last minute to do it tomorrow. I’m making MM Moolates for the occasion. Although I’m not sure how that’ll work out…I mean, if I make them in the morning and all like I had planned, then we’ll have to have the party first thing in the morning…I’m considering just buying them from DQ =.= I’ll have to ask Lori and Dena once Lacey leaves at 4. Oh well.
I have been feeling so miserable lately. Moreso than usual. I can’t wait till this week is over. Hell, I can’t wait till I can see that doctor and maybe start finding out what’s wrong with me. Then maybe I can actually start feeling good. Until then, sunshines.

I take 2 B12 complex pills every morning, and I have been doing that for 3 solid months! Shouldn’t that be helping with this? Maybe I just need to move more in the end…perhaps if I exercised and lost weight, I’d feel more energetic…but do I really have to be miserable in the mean time! I mean, I’ve worked out before, right. Solidly worked out. And the Doctor/Trainer dude that I saw every week acted like that must be so great for me…it wasn’t. I told him once that I was so soar and he said “but doesn’t that feel great!” and I was like “…no! Sadistic masochist! Gawd!”. I do not enjoy exercising...I never have. The only exercise that I enjoy, is walking, swimming and horseback riding (from least to most).
Anyway. I swear I was not gonna rant about that. I was gonna tell you about the fun we had at work. Sure, work sucked from about, oh, the beginning till 2ish. Then everything lightened a bit, and I started talking a bit more. I’m not entirely sure how the conversation went but this is the jist of it.
Me: Sounds like someone’s been pouring mojitoes down your throat all day.
Lacey: ...Mosquitoes?
Me: No, Lacey. Mojitoes.
Lacey: What’s a mosquito?
Me: Dammit! Use your words, dude! It’s Mo-He-Toe! It’s a drink.
Lacey: …uh huh…
Me: It IS! It has mint and citrus and club soda and rum in it or something.
Lacey: I never heard of no mosquito drink.
Me: Lacey! That’s it! I’m googling it!
Anyway. This resorted to me once again become a Google-ho. And through Google, I found this site called Drinks Mixer...it’s got tons of recipes on how to make drinks. Not just alcoholic drinks either! It’s got coffees and teas and..other drinks (and beers and ales and cocktails and shots and punches and liqueurs =.=). Of course, this resulted in them asking me to print out several recipes =___= Me and my googling. But hey, if anyone really wants to take a look at it, there’s a whole wealth knowledge at this site.
Ok, moving right along. So, we find out today that we may be getting a clinic in Guam. That’s right, Guam. Of course, that got the office a bit a-buzz. Questions started flying around like “What type of language do they speak in Guam.” Lenda says “Guam-in-ease?” That caused a lot of laughs. Then they were like “Is it like Japanese and Chinese people?” and I was doing my best impersonation of the Stephen Colbert Loves Tea clip that I saw, which caused them all to laugh and decide that I would definitely be the one taking calls from Guam. Then they asked something that shocked me….”Where is Guam?” <.<……….>.>…"….you’re kidding right? No? Huh…Ok, well, it’s over near Australia, but not south like New Zealand, it’s up. Like...near Indonesia and New Guinea." That resulted in some odd stairs. That’s when I remembered something. Americans suck at geography. So I went to Google Maps (me and my damn Google again =.=) and searched for Guam. I was like “See, there it is.” And they were like “But where is that…?” and I was like “Ok, let me zoom out.” And I did, showing them Australia and Indonesia. And someone asked (I’m so not naming names, otherwise I might get my head handed to me) “But where is that in relation to us?”
………………………………………
I had no idea that they couldn’t figure out where we were in reference to where Australia was. I mean, Indonesia and New Guinea? Ok, sure, maybe people wouldn’t know about that, but Australia?! I was so shocked. Then they asked what language they spoke, so I said that since Guam was technically US territory, even if it wasn’t really incorporated into the US, so I’m sure their grasp of the English language would be pretty good (not to mention that most other countries are smarter than America when it comes to schooling and all)… and they were somewhat dubious about that. I had to really reassure them that I knew that, and then I ended up going to Wikipedia and reading out loud about Guam just to reassure them. I ended up showing a lot of pictures of the island and resorts and such there to them too….I guess it just shocked me that they didn’t’ know the geography. History isn’t something I excel at in the slightest, so I didn’t expect them to know it (and I was just assuming about them knowing English well and all), but even if I didn’t know the exact coordinates of the island, I knew about where it was.
Now lastly, and perhaps the funniest story...Earlier in the day we asked Nicole if she’d watched Saw III since she rented it. She said “No…My husband wasn’t home….the girls and I started watching it, but then I got scared and couldn’t >.<” we asked how far she got and she said. “Well…we watched the previews and then we it got to the menu screen I couldn’t go any further.” Honest! I could not make this up! She said the menu options were carved into a dangling arm, and it freaked her out so she couldn’t go further. We laughed so hard at that! She’s seen Saw and Saw II and thought they were brilliant, so of course she has to see this. But evidently it has to be during the day, with all the doors open, and her husband and as many other adults around as possible. I personally have not witnessed this...strange...phenomenon called Saw, so I won’t for opinions. I told Nicole that if she wanted we could all schedule a get together one afternoon and go to her place with junk food and stuff and have a See Saw party or something. Doors open, lights on, no sudden movements sort of thing. She said it sounded fun but we never discussed it really. We’ll see how far that gets.
That’s all the work news I have for you for today. It’s now late-ish and I’m tired (and really really eager to sleep since I didn’t sleep well last night). So goodnight!
