Everyone knows that plans changed. This is just a small vid that shows all the happenings that were

msmoon: (OMG! ONOZ!)
I kinda left ya’ll with a cliff-hanger there didn’t I? Opps. Sooo....lots has happened since my last post. Dad’s bedroom still isn’t really finished. The paint is on the wall and it looks great, but we want to repaint the metal bed frame. It’s supposed to be white and due to age it’s more of an ivory right now. So, we got some spray paint and were planning to do that...I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me start with the insanity at its origin.

So, after I left ya’ll Thursday, Mom and Aunt Carolyn came back from the store with spray paint and...whatever else they went there for. We decided that the kilz had dried, and it was time to start painting. So, we set ourselves up with a system, learning from our mistakes with the kilz. Y’see Dad’s room (and mine as well) is panelled, so there are grooves at varying widths throughout the room. When we’d tried to roll on the kilz primer, the grooves left voids. So, we learned, go over the lines with a paint brush first, then roll out the roller! So, the system was, me on the floor taping off the base boards; Mom using a simple brush to paint the lines, and Aunt Carolyn working on the trim around the two windows and ceiling (she’d get to the base boards when I was done taping off). Aunt Carolyn said that she could do the other trim just fine, but due to gravity, she’d need the tape for the base boards....so there ya go. Now, this continued till I’d taped off all the base boards and Mom had painted all the lines. The trim took a lot of time, being as it’s careful work. Then, I grabbed a roller and started painting what I call the center zone.

Center Zone: Painting Ref. - The center of the wall easiest to reach, between the top (nearest the ceiling) and the bottom (nearest the floor).

<..< uh...yeah.../clears throat. So...I had all of one wall painted and half of another, when my hand started to cramp. Mom took over, letting me rest. I didn’t rest long though. I went in and got my camera to get pictures of us actually working and all. Then I came back and started working again. Mom and Aunt Carolyn were both up and tending to the top zone nearest the ceiling........Then....It happened.

Without any warning or provocation, Aunt Carolyn went to step down from the stool she was on to reload her brush, her ankle gave out, she fell down.....and knocked right into the full can of paint, knocking it over onto the carpet in a huge glob ;_;

Yeah...talk about scurrying. We scurried to make sure she was ok, and then I hopped up and ran to the bathroom for towels, ran back to soak up as much of the paint as possible. It didn’t really matter though, the damage had been done. Aunt Carolyn was so upset with herself, but it’s not like it’s something that she did on purpose. Accidents do happen after all, and there’s no use in placing blame. In fact, Mom and I were more upset with ourselves; earlier when we started priming the walls, I told Mom that we should spread that tarp over the entire floor as opposed to just over the computer desk so that if there were any spills it wouldn’t damage the carpet =..= When did I become psychic? Srsly, I don’t want that type of power....at least not until I’ve gotten myself a job in middle management...

>..> ....anyway. So, we soaked the carpet in water, oxiclean, tough stuff and a number of other stain removers. We used Aunt Carolyn’s steam cleaner and Mrs. Karen’s shampooer....the stain isn’t as solid as it was but...it’s still prevalent. Not to mention, the water we used for cleaning and the shampooer seems to have spread, staining most of the carpet surrounding the original stain. I told Mom that it might be time to invest in a room-size area rug to complete the ‘makeover’ :)

Knowing Dad, he’ll probably say, “Looks nice! Paint the entire floor that way!” or something like that. I doubt it’ll really faze him. Still, it was just one of those things that kinda sickens you. Talk about bring the mood down -..- We did finish painting the room, and the walls look awesome (the carpet, not so much). We’ve loaded the dresser and end tables back into the room, and we’d planned on taking the tarp off of the computer desk and putting it outside with the bed frame so that we could spray paint the bed and all....and then it snowed yesterday >..< It was all gloomy, windy and humid Friday, so we really couldn’t have done it then. I mean, that needs time to set and if the conditions are not right, it will look terrible.....so...yeah. As long as we can get one good day...just one good day!....before Wednesday =..= This is looking more and more impossible. Still who knows.

In totally unrelated news, my replacement printer finally arrived. I hooked it up and...it didn’t work at first....so I unhooked it, uninstalled the software, deleted the printer from the computer’s printers & faxes thingy, and then reinstalled the software and re-hooked up the computer. It works fine now (thank God). If it hadn’t worked...I think I might’ve busted a blood vessel in my head at the very least. So now, I just have to box up an ship the old malfunctioned one back.

Oh...yeah...it snowed yesterday. It started around 9 a.m. and they said it’d go till Midnight...not sure if it did (it gets dark out and you just don’t see the white stuff falling), but it definitely got a lot of coverage in. I took some pictures, but most of them are from inside. I did go outside to check the mail and send a letter off to Scamp, so I took pictures when I went out, but the weather really didn’t encourage one to remain out in it. I mean, the wind was so strong, it nearly knocked me down. Not to mentioned all your extremities get that ‘seep in and stay’ cold, to the point they feel like they’re on fire when you step inside. I’d never seen a white out before (well, unless it rained really hard in LA, and I used to call that a gray-out :D), but yesterday almost was one. It was snowing lightly in the morning, but when the latter half of the cold front passed through, from our house, we couldn’t see the trees on the other side of the road o..o Luckily, my Arkansas cold weather initiation began and ended with the January Ice Storm...

...I can’t think of anything else to write...I need to post some pics to FaceBook and MySpace...enh...maybe later =..= I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Mom and I have taken on the biggest surprise we can manage for Dad. We emptied out his room, and kilzed every wall. Dad loves blue, right? Well, Mom and I got him this bed spread (a nice one) that’s this deep, rich brown, with small tan and cream wavy lines on it and a light blue line here and there on it too. So we’re painting his room a light denim blue, the trim will be white, his bed and dresser will be white too, and his curtains will be brown. It’s all the colors that he likes :) Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone :D

I will say, and maybe it’s corny since everyone says it, but you don’t realize how much stuff is in a room until you have to empty it =..= The computer and computer desk is the only thing still in the room, and we just covered that with a tarp. What I’d like to do, is after the painting is all done, go to Wal-Mart and get some rich dark brown picture frames, and take pictures of the family, and put them up in that room....but I don’t know if Mom will go for that >..> Anyway, I totally took pictures of the room when we’d emptied it, and I just took pictures of it a moment ago with the kilz dried. Mom and Aunt Carolyn went to town to get some white spray paint, so I’m waiting to see what the plan will be....the little break has been nice =..=

The weather has proven a big help actually. The walls are drying faster because the wind is really gusting. We just opened up the windows and let it. Mom says that we’ll have more of a chance of rain tomorrow though, so I don’t know if she’ll want to finish tonight....or put it off till tomorrow.

..../sigh. I’ma finish this post up and watch Vern Yip on Deserving Design. HGTV, take my mind :) Later, Sunshines.

...so I was totally fooled. I mean, I expected the “We’ll buy you lunch wherever you want!” thing, so when they brought it up, it was a no brainer thing. But then, Mrs. Ellen shows up...and half the office leaves with just me, the nurses and Mrs. Ellen. And, I’m kinda thinking, “Why is everyone always so phobic about eating with Mrs. Ellen around?”. But then, Donna and Gigi come in carrying boxes and boxes of food from Piccadilly! They decided to throw a party and have Thanksgiving early! Which, is great, because I had brought their gifts which I’d intended for Christmas. Then, they tell me they have gifts for me too! I was so surprised!

So, we eat some ham and green beans and stuffing and deviled eggs, and pecan pie, and Watergate salad and...well, you get the idea. And then I open the girls’ gift for me, and it’s a little silver bracelet that has a heart locket with written prayers inside the locket! I was so touched! And then! Mrs. Ellen gives me a present from her and ‘Rick’ her hubby (my other boss). I unwrap it and look at the box...I blink, I look at different parts of the box, and I ask aghast, “This isn’t what’s on the outside of the box is it?” and she’s like “Yes! It is!” and I kinda gaped because it was a
Trutech 7" Digital photo frame :-O!!! ZOMG, anyone? Z!O!M!G! I was so shocked because...well, those things aren’t cheap! I had been thinking of getting one, but...I dunno. There was always something cheaper I could get, you know? So I never got one for myself! It’s just so sweet!

So...I had an errand to run, right? Well, after taking a million pictures and giving them their gifts (which they cracked up about! G got the Maxine Desk calendar, and Donna got a “wet floor” sign that says “Caution: Hot Flash Zone”. But the other girls all got ‘desk cones’ that say things! Lori got “It is our company’s policy to blame the computer”. Dena got “Service will depend upon my mood and your attitude.” Lenda got “Save time. See it my way.” Nicole got, “Give me my coffee and nobody gets hurt.” And Mrs. Sandra got “Step Away from my Desk.”. They’re all so funny!), it was decided that I’d take the food home with me. So, I did, and when I got back…I got a call from Donna...she was downstairs and she said she needed something. So I go down there, and the girls downstairs have a card and a cookie cake for me O..O’ I was shocked there too. It was nice and I thanked them, and had a piece and talked and all, and then I rushed upstairs and...was so out of breath!

SO much had happened! I had to settle myself down to write it out and then settle down even more to get back to work! Needless to say I’ve been writing in between …uh…headaches? Meh...I’m tired, but I’m also cranked at the same time O..o how does that happen? I’m just so giddy about all the well wishes, and I knew that they would miss me and all, but...this was so much more than I expected...I’m so glad I got the chance to work with everyone here. I feel so blessed.

...I still can’t wait for 5 though, just so I can have a chance to show off my gifts! :-D

Harvest Moon

Long Night

2008-Oct-21, Tuesday 10:54 am
msmoon: (Warcraft - Yaviel Yawn)

So, I’m back online. I think it was around 9 pm Sunday when I finally got my internet back. Of course, by then I’d taken my pills and really couldn’t accomplish much. So, thanks...

Yesterday at work, things were a little crazy. I had totally intended to post yesterday, but it was so busy. I did manage, on my lunch break, to finish the next chapter of
Broken Wing, which I posted to my private journal and sent to my Twin. I’m still going to proof read it a few times, just to make sure it makes sense and I haven’t screwed anything up. Normally, though, I don’t realize my screw ups till after I’ve posted it to FF.net -..-

I also arranged a nice surprise for my mom. I found this lovely web site that sends out flowers, plants and candies and stuffs, and I sent Mom a surprise fall flower arrangement. Originally, I just found the site because it had different flower meanings and occasions and such, and I just thought the pictures of the flowers looked lovely. The part of the site I found first was called
FlowerPedia, which, I thought would be awesome, because I’m always interested in the meaning of flowers and trees and plants in general, and I thought it’d be cool if there was a Wikipedia for Flowers. Well, it wasn’t that, but it was interesting none the less. Anyway! I noticed that they have various forms of bonsai plants, some of which are flowering. I mean, they have Azalea Bonsai and Gardenia Bonsai, which are plants I’ve never seen in the local nurseries, and they’re gorgeous! But, I know how Mom loves fall colors and she loves lilies and tulips, so I sent her the Autumn Sunset arrangement...which should get there sometime tomorrow. I am so excited about that. There’s no real occasion for it, but when I saw that arrangement, I knew Mom would love it...so I sent it. I’m told, sending things for no reason whatsoever is the best thing in the world :D

Last night, I finally got to Yaviel’s Fishing and Cooking. Surprisingly, her cooking skill is now higher than her fishing o..o First, I went to Org, just because it was closest, and leveled up her fishing. Then I realized that her current recipes were very very low. So, I took her to Silvermoon to hunt dragonhawks, which drop eggs. 70 Herb-baked eggs and 10 loaves of Spiced Bread later! And I was capable of learning the recipes I’d need to cook the 50 fish I’d caught -..- So, then I translocated to Undercity to get the recipes from the lady at the dock there, and before I knew it, I had 117 skillz in cooking. Fishing is still at level 75 though -..- But, I loged for the night then.

I had the worst night too. I slept really really well till about 12:45...then I woke up. I tried, for about a half hour, to go back to sleep…but it wasn’t working. I got up, ate some cereal and watched Daria hoping I’d start to feel sleepy again. Around 2:50 I got sleepy. So, I drug myself back upstairs and tried to sleep. But, my sleep was good and broken by then, so I tossed and turned all night, sleeping harder than I had before, but not really resting. My alarm clock woke me up at 6 this morning, and I was even more tired than I had been when I went to bed the night before =..= I’m surviving on peanuts, coffee and a ton of eggs this morning. Oh, and G shared a slice of apple with me too.

...tonight’s Tuesday, right? /sigh. I’ll probably get on WoW tonight again...no specific plans though now that Yavi’s cooking and fishing is leveled. I know she wants to get that stupid ‘defeat the legion’ quest over with and get the heck outta Ashenvale, but...meh. She also wants to talk to Cara about the reply she got from Fallena, but that’s all RP-wise. Wenny wants to get to level 30 just as badly. So I’m of 2 minds about that. We’ll see.

I guess I’ll talk later. God knows, I’ve been gabbing enough already. Later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (RVB - Caboose Hamster)
I had something amazing happen to me yesterday. Something that’s never happened before….a doctor’s office called me to schedule an appointment O_O. Can you believe it? The gastroenterologist’s office called to clarify my background. They evidently got a referrel from my family doctor (though, I do specifically remember telling them I’d make my own appointment, but no worries). So they asked if I could come and sign some relase forms for them to get records from Ochners about my last visit/colonoscopy. Unfortunately for me, they work from 7:45 to 5 Monday – Thursday. So, I had to speed over there on my lunch break today and sign the papers before swinging by to pick up the girls’ lunches.

It was terribe out too. I mean, it’s Spring and it’s upwards of 80 degrees out there. I blasted the AC and sweat whenever I was walking from my car to and from places. Though, I remember Chris Franklin (weather guy on channel 8) saying that we’d have a cool front tomorrow morning come through. That’s encouraging.

Oh, tomorrow is Nicole’s birthday, and we’re gonna throw Lacey a ‘going away party’ too, since it’s the last day we’ll all be together. Nicole is taking Thursday and Friday off...so we’ve got Lacey getting Nicole her birthday gift, and Nicole is brainstorming about what to get Lacey...weird no? And hectic. I’d thought we’d have till Friday to plan Lacey’s shindig, but since Nicole won’t be here, we decided last minute to do it tomorrow. I’m making MM Moolates for the occasion. Although I’m not sure how that’ll work out…I mean, if I make them in the morning and all like I had planned, then we’ll have to have the party first thing in the morning…I’m considering just buying them from DQ =.= I’ll have to ask Lori and Dena once Lacey leaves at 4. Oh well.

I have been feeling so miserable lately. Moreso than usual. I can’t wait till this week is over. Hell, I can’t wait till I can see that doctor and maybe start finding out what’s wrong with me. Then maybe I can actually start feeling good. Until then, sunshines.
