msmoon: (OMG! ONOZ!)
I kinda left ya’ll with a cliff-hanger there didn’t I? Opps. Sooo....lots has happened since my last post. Dad’s bedroom still isn’t really finished. The paint is on the wall and it looks great, but we want to repaint the metal bed frame. It’s supposed to be white and due to age it’s more of an ivory right now. So, we got some spray paint and were planning to do that...I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me start with the insanity at its origin.

So, after I left ya’ll Thursday, Mom and Aunt Carolyn came back from the store with spray paint and...whatever else they went there for. We decided that the kilz had dried, and it was time to start painting. So, we set ourselves up with a system, learning from our mistakes with the kilz. Y’see Dad’s room (and mine as well) is panelled, so there are grooves at varying widths throughout the room. When we’d tried to roll on the kilz primer, the grooves left voids. So, we learned, go over the lines with a paint brush first, then roll out the roller! So, the system was, me on the floor taping off the base boards; Mom using a simple brush to paint the lines, and Aunt Carolyn working on the trim around the two windows and ceiling (she’d get to the base boards when I was done taping off). Aunt Carolyn said that she could do the other trim just fine, but due to gravity, she’d need the tape for the base boards....so there ya go. Now, this continued till I’d taped off all the base boards and Mom had painted all the lines. The trim took a lot of time, being as it’s careful work. Then, I grabbed a roller and started painting what I call the center zone.

Center Zone: Painting Ref. - The center of the wall easiest to reach, between the top (nearest the ceiling) and the bottom (nearest the floor).

<..< uh...yeah.../clears throat. So...I had all of one wall painted and half of another, when my hand started to cramp. Mom took over, letting me rest. I didn’t rest long though. I went in and got my camera to get pictures of us actually working and all. Then I came back and started working again. Mom and Aunt Carolyn were both up and tending to the top zone nearest the ceiling........Then....It happened.

Without any warning or provocation, Aunt Carolyn went to step down from the stool she was on to reload her brush, her ankle gave out, she fell down.....and knocked right into the full can of paint, knocking it over onto the carpet in a huge glob ;_;

Yeah...talk about scurrying. We scurried to make sure she was ok, and then I hopped up and ran to the bathroom for towels, ran back to soak up as much of the paint as possible. It didn’t really matter though, the damage had been done. Aunt Carolyn was so upset with herself, but it’s not like it’s something that she did on purpose. Accidents do happen after all, and there’s no use in placing blame. In fact, Mom and I were more upset with ourselves; earlier when we started priming the walls, I told Mom that we should spread that tarp over the entire floor as opposed to just over the computer desk so that if there were any spills it wouldn’t damage the carpet =..= When did I become psychic? Srsly, I don’t want that type of power....at least not until I’ve gotten myself a job in middle management...

>..> ....anyway. So, we soaked the carpet in water, oxiclean, tough stuff and a number of other stain removers. We used Aunt Carolyn’s steam cleaner and Mrs. Karen’s shampooer....the stain isn’t as solid as it was but...it’s still prevalent. Not to mention, the water we used for cleaning and the shampooer seems to have spread, staining most of the carpet surrounding the original stain. I told Mom that it might be time to invest in a room-size area rug to complete the ‘makeover’ :)

Knowing Dad, he’ll probably say, “Looks nice! Paint the entire floor that way!” or something like that. I doubt it’ll really faze him. Still, it was just one of those things that kinda sickens you. Talk about bring the mood down -..- We did finish painting the room, and the walls look awesome (the carpet, not so much). We’ve loaded the dresser and end tables back into the room, and we’d planned on taking the tarp off of the computer desk and putting it outside with the bed frame so that we could spray paint the bed and all....and then it snowed yesterday >..< It was all gloomy, windy and humid Friday, so we really couldn’t have done it then. I mean, that needs time to set and if the conditions are not right, it will look terrible.....so...yeah. As long as we can get one good day...just one good day!....before Wednesday =..= This is looking more and more impossible. Still who knows.

In totally unrelated news, my replacement printer finally arrived. I hooked it up and...it didn’t work at first....so I unhooked it, uninstalled the software, deleted the printer from the computer’s printers & faxes thingy, and then reinstalled the software and re-hooked up the computer. It works fine now (thank God). If it hadn’t worked...I think I might’ve busted a blood vessel in my head at the very least. So now, I just have to box up an ship the old malfunctioned one back.

Oh...yeah...it snowed yesterday. It started around 9 a.m. and they said it’d go till Midnight...not sure if it did (it gets dark out and you just don’t see the white stuff falling), but it definitely got a lot of coverage in. I took some pictures, but most of them are from inside. I did go outside to check the mail and send a letter off to Scamp, so I took pictures when I went out, but the weather really didn’t encourage one to remain out in it. I mean, the wind was so strong, it nearly knocked me down. Not to mentioned all your extremities get that ‘seep in and stay’ cold, to the point they feel like they’re on fire when you step inside. I’d never seen a white out before (well, unless it rained really hard in LA, and I used to call that a gray-out :D), but yesterday almost was one. It was snowing lightly in the morning, but when the latter half of the cold front passed through, from our house, we couldn’t see the trees on the other side of the road o..o Luckily, my Arkansas cold weather initiation began and ended with the January Ice Storm...

...I can’t think of anything else to write...I need to post some pics to FaceBook and MySpace...enh...maybe later =..= I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Wow. Another one of those days. Woke up around...when was it?...it had to be about 8 or so. The reruns of Gilmore Girls run at 9:30 and I was actually back in for it. So anyway, while I was fixing breakfast my dad says to me, “Hon, I need your help with something, and don’t say ‘no’.” Which means I was going to be helping him (he told me I couldn’t say no after all -.-). After a quick pop tart and coffee fest for breakfast, I got dressed and went outside. Turns out he needed me to help him with ‘yard work’ of a sorts.

My uncle C (the head of the rich family members) owns a tractor that has a dump thingy on it...you know, it raises the dump bucket and lowers and there’s three levers just to operate the dump thingy. Anyway, it’s a fancy-snancy tractor that has it’s on air conditioned cab, and Dad had been using it to take heaps of mud that he’d previously dug and discarded while digging out our old ditch, and putting them in the lower lying areas of the yard. Well, when the street was paved, there was a crew that came and did some trimming of branches around the power lines. They then chopped the branches into mulch, and for some odd reason, my mom thought we might need a bunch of mulch. So she asked them to dump a bit in our yard. We ended up with a pile that would cover a sumo-wrestler. But we had it right next to our drive way, and Dad was worried that it’d attract termites.

The whole purpose of this rant is for me to explain that he had moved almost all of the pile, but he couldn’t get the stuff at the bottom without someone to help him get it into the dumper’s bucket. He gave me a crash course in the operation of the tractor (I hate clutch vehicles), and I ended up dumping two loads at the back of our lot, onto a dead banana tree. Air conditioned or not, I was still sweating after that was over. I was afraid I’d wreck the tractor or screw up the transmission or something >_> But all was well after that.

Then I watched the rerun of Gilmore Girls only to realize that Mom and I had seen it Friday. Turns out Gilmore Girls reruns at two times, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, but the ones in the afternoon are an episode ahead of the ones in the morning. So if you view Monday’s afternoon GG, there really is no point in seeing Tuesday’s morning GG. I watched it anyway, because it was Emily and Richard’s reconciliation. I liked that part. I hated how Emily ordered Christopher around at the end though. So, I assume that means Luke and Lorelai’s big break-up concerning Christopher will be either next or soon.

Enough about that though. I then went and looked over the adds in the paper. I found three adds to apply for not counting the staffing agencies that I’ve already applied at. I edited my cover letter and printed out three for each, then made resumes and envelopes to go with each. I waited till Mom and Dad had gone over the bills and made out their payments, then I headed to town. I deposited my last check into my bank and got enough cash for a car wash. My car was caked with dust, and I figured if I didn’t get it cleaned now then I never would. So I did that, and then I went to Rouses where they had a post office drop box. I dropped all the mail and then headed back home.

When I got home I discovered I had a letter from Chibi. I was elated. I read it and then I typed up a reply. I then proof-read the reply and write it out on black paper with my new jell pens. I even had enough time to make a MM’s Jellies doodle. That was fun. Of course the down-side to taking such measures when writing a letter means it took up nearly all the afternoon. When Mom poked her head in my room to see if I minded going to town with Dad for something, it was already 4. I checked over all the things I had and realized I’d finished the letter. So I leave the pages all there, waiting to be put into the proper envelope.

I went with Dad to Lowe’s because he too had been productive. He and Mom had bought a new stove. The problem was it was about an inch higher than the last one, so there’s a gap between the counter and the stove. Dad didn’t find anything to fill the space, but I did find some nice base-boards. We also talked about all the things we’re doing to the house, and I told Dad that I don’t really care where we live, as long as it’s not in LA. I’m sick of the hurricanes and worrying about them. And I’m not a natural worrier. I wouldn’t say that I worry about hurricanes, because I don’t. But they are something that you can’t just forget about.

Anyway. We then went to Best Buy and got a wireless router and a USB thingy to plug into old Irene. Mom and dad want to access the internet on the old computer, but they don’t want to run cords all through the walls and such, so we choose to go wireless. The problem is our old Westell doesn’t seem to be on speaking terms with the new Linksys. So we’re gonna give Bell south a call in the morning and ask if they’ve got any solutions (like sending us a new modem or something).

So after wrangling that thing for the evening, I finally to watch CSI: Miami. Great episode, even if it was a rerun. I love Horatio, and Dad hates that Mom and I like him. He thinks he’s stuck on him self, but we both tell him over and over that he’s just an actor playing a part.

I gotta say though, not all of today was a total beast. There was the time Dad and I had just gotten in from Lowe’s and Best Buy. Mom was out on the patio, and she said she was hungry, so I made us all Ramen noodle (beef for Dad, spicy chicken for Mom, and chicken for me) along with some egg rolls and tea. We sat on the back there and just ate and enjoyed the weather. The weather has been quite temperate lately. It’s hot and humid, but there’s always a breeze that keeps you a little cool. We did some bird watching as well, at least mom and I did. Mom and Dad put a little bird house in the tree that’s just off our patio and there’s a tiny sparrow and his little mate inside it. I think she’s nesting, but the house is so small that he usually wont fit in it if she’s in there, so he just hangs out on the ledge of the house outside, peeping in ever now and then. I dubbed them Vern and Shirley. Dad thought it was silly, but I like it. There’s also the hummingbirds. Mom’s got 3 feeders out and they zip on it and feed at each one. There’s two, and Mom thinks it’s a male and a female, because one’s small and has a ruby throat while the other is a tab bit larger (no humming bird is very large) and is very dark brown throughout. It was pleasant. After we sat for a while, I went and watered all the plants including my little cacti. I really should get my camera out and take some pictures. But anyway.

I found out that Lexy (my printer) has this really cool scan feature. If you have more than one page to scan, you just line them up on top, and she’ll scan them all. I had a lot of fun with scanning Chibi’s huge letter. I wanted to remember what I had said because I have a real problem with forgetting who I tell what and I hate repeating myself.

I also managed to write a little bit on my x-men fic. Nothing huge, just a little bit of the next chapter. I think I at least know where the thing is going, so I have a guide post. That’s one thing I hate about not having a set schedule. Since you have plenty of time to do anything, nothing ever gets done. I actually have to crack a whip on myself otherwise I’d never do anything. It’s sad really =.=

Oh well. I’m kinda hungry, and I heard my Mom and Dad mention that they’re having a tomato-gravy & busicuit breakfast tomorrow with a few of their elderly friends. That means it’ll be early so I’d better get as much sleep as I can...and I’ve gotta say I haven’t been having the best night sleeps lately. So goodnight!

Not much happened today. Wait...that’s not right. Stuff happened. Lot’s of stuff. What happened today? /thinks Ok..I called the boss-lady and asked if there was any time that she wanted me to come pick up my stuff, and she said any time. I apologized and she ‘accepted my apology’. ...Mom and I went walking. We walked 2 miles and decided to go check out Nanny McPhee at the dollar theater. I think Mom wants to perk me up or something. Truthfully, the only thing that really bothers me besides the lack of income is the lack of productivity. I’m afraid I’ll get lazy if I don’t have something to keep me going. Anyway. Mom and I walked. We saw a few things around the stores to look at on our last lap (the cool-out lap). We ended up going into Bath&Body Works, and I finally got to see (or smell as it were) the Cherry Blossom fragrances that [livejournal.com profile] chaineddove had told me about. OMG, Odango, you weren’t kidding. I have to admit that I like the white and pink products more than the yellow colored ones. They had a white, yellow, and pink variety of cherry blossom stuff and the yellow was way too strong. I like subtle fragrances. Your perfume isn’t supposed to announce you, it’s supposed to accompany you...and all that jazz.

After the walk, we deposited my check into checkings and then we headed over to Burger King to visit with Grandmere. She’s always at Burger King between the hours of 9:30ish to about 11. Allways with gets her biscuit (well done), her medium diet coke (which she refills throughout the day) and sits and talks with her sister and whoever else should wander through the door and be in the mood to talk. We stayed and talked for a while, then Mom had to deposit some money in her bank.

Then we headed over to the agency to pick up my stuff. We got everything cleaned out in record timing; packed it all in a box and was ready to go. I did forget to get Mrs. R to sign my time sheet, but I can sign it and fax it to her and she can sign it and send it on. I hope...Mrs. A has always loved my chocolate treasure candies, and she always finds an excuse to sneak in and get one. So I grabbed a handful and put them on her desk and said “For the road” she thanked me and we were on our way. No one else talked to us. No one else so much as looked at us. /shrug I’ll assume they were all too busy and leave it at that.

We got home and my Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe was in. I love special edition stuff. It’s great so far, and all I’ve watched is the bonus footage. I thought I recognized Mr. Tumnus from the movie, and I know where now. He’s the same guy that played as Leto in Children of Dune. He’s got this really sexy Irish accent. It’s absolutely adorable. I also have this wonderful Unicorn Coloring book that I ordered with it (shut up! It was like $2 and the shipping was free if I added $2 so..so...shut up!). But really, it’s the coolest coloring book I’ve ever seen. But I’m not going to color it till I get a new Printer/Scanner/Copier. I want to scan the pages so I’ll be able to color it as much as I like, whenever I like.

That’s another thing. Poor old Madison hasn’t been working right at all. She says that her black and white print cartridge is not installed properly. But every time I check it, I only find that it is installed properly, and then I take it out and put it in again and all she’ll do is blink at me and say it’s not done right. /sighs Oi, these machines. I can print on her though, which is odd...She just won’t scan or copy anything. I was going to get a new one as soon as I’d saved up enough money to get a really good one, but…well. The best laid plans, no da.

Anyway. Mom was feeling sleepy, so she went and napped while I dove into obsessive fan-girl heaven watching the CON (Chronicles of Narnia) bonus footage. These children are charming...Really. I mean, forget the fact that William Moseley (Peter) is extremely cute. They’re all just such a delight. It was a pleasure to watch them be themselves and have fun. This isn’t a occurrence that I’m accustomed to. I have made it evident on several occasions that I loath children to the very core of my being. And to find myself enjoying watching these children was a surprise. Maybe it’s because they’re British...that must be it.

Anyway. Mom finally got up from her nap. She went outside to read on the patio and she spotted two small wood-peckers. She called me out to take pictures, but my camera was kinda dieing and they were too far off anyway. And much too fast to catch on camera.

I came back and Mom wanted to fix her famous strawberry popsicles. She takes sugar, water and freshly grown strawberries and puts them all in a blender, then into little wax cups and puts a pop cycle stick in the center and freezes them all. She makes like 200 and we slowly eat them over the summer. I washed the strawberries and she blended and poured.

Then I went and made this little colorbar.

Kidd Kraddick is my favorite morning radio show. I was upset that I wasn’t waking up early enough to listen to them on a regular basis after the job thing. So I made this for fun.

Then, I watched half of tonight’s Bones. I’d taped it but I couldn’t get through it and check mail and stuff before CSI: NY rolled around. It was really good...both of them, I just don’t know how Bones ends.

Now, I’m showered and the pills are kicking in (thus the shorter sentences), so I’m off to bed. G’night everyone.

You Are The Moon

You represent the unconscious side of life, what happens in dreams.
You are capable of great genius - but also of great madness.
Emotions tend to be primal for you, both your fears and your fantasies.
Your intuition is always right, listening to it is the difficult part.

Your fortune:

You are about to embark on a very important journey - and a very difficult one.
Some of your deepest dreams will be realized, as well as some of your deepest nightmares.
Follow your creativity and visions; stay away from your weaknesses.
You are taking a voyage to the center of yourself, and you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

...Dude,..that’s like profound...and quite accurate...
