I’ve been playing about with iMovie a lot. I finally figured out how to import video from my camera directly to iMovie! I was so happy to find out that all I needed was that USB cord that connects TomTom to my computer for updates. I had asked a few people, but they either had no idea or said I may have to get a new camera /shudder. The process is pretty long if you have a lot of material to edit, but it’s worth it :) I’m still not quite sure what I’m doing, but I’m learning by doing….just like always.
I’ve really got nothing else to say. Or at least, I can’t think of anything short to say, and it’s almost time to start packing up. Usually, around 8:45 I head over to the class and loiter outside, waiting with my classmates for the 8 am class to be over. I’m about 10 minutes away from doing that… Oh! That reminds me. There’s this widget that I got for dashboard called ‘tea time’ … I think. And it’s basically a timer that goes off to remind you to tend to your tea before it gets cold o..o it can be set for anything though, so I tend to set it for 10 minutes and then let it remind me that I need to stop typing and get moving :)

I went out and got Scamp Saturday. The drive was fun, but my house was being whittled down little by little in the 4 hours it took. My parents had moved everything from upstairs into the shed and many of the things I just didn’t need as well. My mattress was on the floor downstairs. During the down-time we had when my parents were busy with...something else…Scamp and I exchanged birthday gifts! She loved her gifts and I was sooo happy! I got her the Hoard key chain and made it into a necklace, and I got her a Figure Print of Fallena! It was so awesome! And she loved it and stared at it in awe for a long long time. Scamp was...uh, a little disappointed when one of my gifts didn’t really work out. She and Bear had gotten me a beautiful necklace of an owl flying with a moonstone in it’s claws, but she’d also gotten me this tank that has fake jellyfish in it...but, the pump for the tank didn’t work so the jellyfish just sank to the bottom of the tank -..- so yeah, she was disappointed. I loved the necklace though! I told her, “I shall call him ‘Jareth’ and he shall be mine :-D!”. That night was miserable, because my dad’s snoring is unholy...and since we were all sleeping in the same room, that really came into play that night.
Sunday, after church, we all went to Subway. Tried that new Chicken Pizziola or whatever it’s called...it wasn’t bad. Just…not something I’d go out of my way for. When we got home, Mom and Dad had packed up to leave for New Orleans, but the battery on Dad’s truck died. So he had to go to town and get a new one. But once that was done, Scamp and I were pretty much on our own. The geek fest began and much talking and giddy babbling commenced.
Monday was a little harsh...work was just so intense after the more busy than usual weekend. Also, at this point, everyone’s panicked because they realize it’s my last week. Monday and Tuesday went by pretty much the same. I was so very very tired, and went home to talk more with Scamp and vaguely pay attention to Bones. We packed as much as we could, but even when we were doing that, we were talking so much it was like we weren’t working. My parents actually got back from N.O. that afternoon, but they were staying with my Aunt Carolyn for the night. And, yesterday, I canceled my DSL for the 20th, and then later that day, Scamp tells me that they unhooked the computer and packed the wires in a box =..= so yeah...work’s the only way to post aside from Voice Post...which may happen tomorrow ^..^ Scamp managed to crank out some seriously awesome WoW fan fiction too. I dunno if it's cause we just talk about our character so much or because here she can relax a bit more or what, but it was awesome! And just in time too, because my parents showed up to pack everything just after she finished =..=
Oh! And I found something I desperately wanted. I’ve been wanting a mac for so long, but I can’t afford it. Aaaand, I’d been wanting to get a lap top too, because…well, sometimes I shut my computer off and late at night I get ideas to write...and I’d just like to have a laptop. Especially since my Dad was saying there are two colleges in the town and I might go back to college again o..o But anyway! I looked on Amazon.com to see if there were any good laptops that weren’t too highly priced. Well, I found a pretty awesome MacPro...and it’s about $700 (yes, it’s considered used, but it’s ‘Like New’ so I’m sorta ok with that!), which for a Mac is really awesome! So, I was thinking of saving up my next two checks as much as possible (which is what I’d be doing anyway) and spending my money on that...Merry Christmas to Me, you know? It’d be nice...
Oh, and last night, after class, everyone had a little party for me with this awesome cake and everything! It was funny because they gave me the cutting knife, and I sorta twirled the handle a bit so that the point was facing downward and just stabbed in the center of the cake, and everyone who was watching went, “Whoa!” After we ate and went over to join the others that were sitting about, C.J. asked me “So, did you get any more s words?” and I was like, “S words? Like…Salamander? Or...Sincere?” and he was like, “No! Swords!” and I was like. “oh....” only a minute later did I get S Words put together equals Swords...kinda like Flo Rida, put together is Florida. Yeah -..- I was tired. But yeah. I told him that I’d found the Halo Sword on Amazon...and that I had a whole Wish List dedicated to various swords and weapons...he was thrilled, but I’m not quite sure why O..o Funny how it amazes me to meet someone just as geeky as I am...in a place where I thought I knew how everyone already was before.
So...today Reiko comes over. The girls said that they’re treating me to Zen’s (well, they said it was my choice so booya :-D.). There are still things to worry about...but I kinda don’t want to anymore. I’m so tired and I can’t. So I’m just going to give the girls at work their Christmas/Going Away presents and have fun and enjoy my last few days here. I even brought my camera today to mark the occasion. I don’t have enough pictures of the girls as far as I’m concerned. So that’s all I’m worried about today. I do still need a change of address form, and to talk to my Edward Jones guy, but I’m thinking that’s something I might be able to squeeze in today and tomorrow. I’ll just have to check. But I refuse to worry about it.
I guess I’m off again. I was taking a little brain break because in the little time I’ve had sitting down I manage to get 7 pages of stats done =..= I can’t wait till 5. So, I’m off again, Sunshines.
Oh, and you know...for someone who’s saving money, I sure am buying a lot of stuff. Or planning to buy a lot of stuff. I was gonna not spend a lot of money and start saving up for my MacBook, but I did a little bit of number crunching the other day. I went through Amazon and Pyramid Collection to see what items I wanted for my house (in blocks of which room they’d be going in), the prices of those items and then set up excel to add all that up. I’m gonna end up spending over $1,000. So, as much as I’d like to save up right now for that mac (which I’ll need a bare minimum of $3,000) I really would like to focus on my house. Apple will always have their computers for sale, but I need to get my house done now, and I’m not sure how long the things I want for my house will be available. So yeah. I make purchases each check (except the first check of the month for car insurance).
I’ve also realized that it will take me about 15 months to save up $3,000, and I’m not buying it till I have at least $500 extra in there…so I will be canceling my Warcraft when I move into the Nexus. I can’t expect my parents to keep the high speed internet that they hardly ever use when I’m out...so..work will be my only access to the internet. But considering that I’m not really an addict, it’ll be ok. Oh, O..o I need to get more PS2 games... that’ll be my only access to any type of gaming...Must get more PS2 games at some point. I should definitely take my wish list off of Amazon and start looking around or something.
Oh! I bought this air mattress thing, it’s called the Coleman 4-in-1 quickbed. That way if I have any guests over that are over late and they don’t want to go all the way home, they can bunk overnight at my place ^..^ It seems all of my friends live fairly far away...Reiko, Chibi and Scamp are all in different parishes (and that’s my friends in this state -..-)...And we tend to rant and rave into the night, so it’d make sense to just get sheets out and inflate the bed and have them stay over. My backroom will provide plenty of privacy for it. And with the 4-in-1 I can have 2 twins or a doubled up twin bed or a king. So, if both Chibi and Reiko want to stay over, they can. Now, if it’s Chibi, Reiko and Scamp…well, I’m considering getting a futon, so someone will end up sleeping on that =..= All this planning...it makes me realize just how poor I am.
I’m going to go ahead and start packing up things I don’t absolutely need (movies mostly). Of course, that means I’ll be making a catalog/list of all the movies I have and then labeling the boxes and recording which boxes they go in. It’s times like this when I bless my OCD.
In “trying to sound positive” news, I get paid in a week!...and I have most of that spent (in my head) already...which means, I’ll be getting more packages ^..^ That’s good. Speaking of money, I should probably be getting back to work. I’ll write later, Sunshines.

Sloths Con this time around was pretty good. We didn’t end up spending as much time together as we thought. I think Reiko and Chibi went to that Reptiles Expo, but I was so sick I couldn’t function Sunday…so, I ended up not going. It sucked too, because I really wanted to go. But, I called Reiko to let her know I wouldn’t be going (because it’s pretty much useless to try and contact Chibi at all anymore >.>), and told her to take pictures and send them to me...Of course, considering how both my ‘Mouto-chan are such great correspondents /sarcasm…I may never actually see anything from said trip.
...what else? Oh…yeah. At work, I’ve been taken totally off of logging incoming charts and put strictly on catching up the old stats. And the crazy thing is, I prefer it. There’s less of a process. Look up the invoice number on our document filing system, log the information into the excel sheet, stamp that stats were done on the file and then boom. You’re done. Of course, I’ve got twelve pages of charts that haven’t been done. Still. Job security, right? The only bad thing is that if you do stats for too long, you’ll go insane. Seriously. I get such headaches. But then I distract myself with things on the internet and such.
I am very happy to announce that Supernatural – Season 2 is now available for preorder on Amazon. I am so preordering that this coming check….even if it doesn’t actually come out till September 11…That’s…a little weird, considering the date. Not that I’m a superstitious person by nature or anything, but jeeze. Speaking of which, Chibi seemed to enjoy the fist three epsidoes of Supernatural that we did get to watch before Reiko showed up…I think she doesn’t leave till the end of this week…maybe she can come over or something...
Oh yeah. Mom and Dad have hit the road again. They’re looking for land in Tennessee as I type. Mom just called me and asked me to find phone numbers for the Captian of a shrimp boat, because one of Dad’s buddies is calling for the number later today….so I’ll need that…/shrugs Don’t judge me. I have a headache. But anyway, they’ll be gone for the next four of five days. So I have the house all to myself.
You know, now that I’ve had plenty of exposure to Chibi’s Mac Book, I really really really want to get one. I fully intend to buy a mouse to go with it, but I still want a mac. They had a program on there, that reads whatever you highlight in normal or funny voices. It was cool to listen to. I gotta say though…it’s lowered my opinion of her slightly. I mean, she says she can’t read my journal and all, but couldn’t she just highlight my entries and get the girl that reads the text to read it to her? It’d be easier no? That’s what I intend to do whenever I get my mac! Because, I’m just lazy like that ^______^. Now I just have to think of a good name for it. I always name my stuff with guy names, so I was thinking something feminine this time. Maybe “Maria” so that I can do my impression of Kosta on My Big Fat Greek Wedding ^.^
God, I wish this headache would quit. It doesn’t seem to matter how long I take a break, it just comes back as soon as I lay eyes on stats =.= Oh well. Such is working life. I’ll write later (maybe). Later, sunshines.

Secondly, I’ve seriously been considering the Nexus situation. I think, that with logical persuasion, my dad will realized that tilling up the earth around the a-frame and replacing all the floors with hard wood would not only increase the value of the house, but also it would increase the quality of life Scamp and I would have. So, that I don’t fret very much for. I do intend to offer to go ¾ of the way as for payment, but if my father asks my uncle (whose wealth never ceases to amaze me) for the tools to till up the ground, that probably wont be much cost other than that of fuel. As for the flooring, that could be a bit.
The next problem on my list is perhaps the furnishing of the house itself, though I don’t worry over it too much. ‘Make do’ furniture can be purchased at first for simple things like the living room, and Scamp and I already have our own beds and such to take with us. Decorations and such may be far-coming. We will have to make a list of the things that we want and their prices. Then simply buy them slowly over time. We will just have to ‘make do’ with what we can have till we can afford what we want.
Of all of these things, the one thing that has bothered me the most is this: computers. Scamp and I have made it quite apparent that we cannot go very long without internet and regular computer use. After discussing things with several computer nerd friends (and given the positive testimony of

rattgirl and Chibi concerning the issue), I have decided that it would (in the long run) be in our best interest to invest in Mac laptops. I had considered getting two of the MacBooks, each in a different color. I would prefer it that way if only because there would be a distinction between what is mine and what is her’s (nothing’s worse than a couple of geek girls battling over laptops =___=). But then I saw the iMac, which also has some appeal if only because the screen is somewhat larger. However, I think it might be best if I simply purchase a wireless mouse for myself (and Scamp if that’s something she’d like), and stick with the two laptop ideas. It just seems simpler. Of course, then once you’ve reasoned that out, let the ‘simplicity’ set in to those ideas……….you see the price =_=’ and you think ‘Dear God, where, when, why, and how could I come by that? O.O’ One thing that I have learned from my parents is that you don’t count chickens before they hatch. There’s no use in owing someone something...just another bill to pay. I took a rough guess-tament and figured that each laptop would cost about $1800. That’s $3600!
Of course, I’m thinking too far ahead. I know that by denying a lot of spending every check, I can save this money up...it’s a matter of discipline. And I’m sure I’ll have help along the way. The plan is to save till the Gathering. The rents are paying for the room, and I’ll take care of food and such as much as I can. Then, after that, I’ll begin saving again. On my current plan, I’ll have $1800 in 9 months. After that, I’ll put at least $1,000 into an interesting earning CD. Then, begin discussing plans for the making of the Nexus. If we give our current renter a 2 month warning, I’ll have $1200 by the time the a-frame is empty. With this amount, I’ll feel comfortable enough to begin work on the bare minimum of renovations (floors and the ground outside). If Trading Spaces can renovate a room for $1,000 in 2 days, then I can at least put in a new floor with $1200. Of course, a lot of my dread not only comes from what I know needs to be done…but from what remains to be seen. It’s probably been well over 2 years since I went into that house...I’ve no idea what it could need.
Perhaps I am worrying too much, but if I do not think of the future, I’m liable to sit idly or spin out of control. Perhaps it’s just another part of my OCD.
