We're all packed up now! Tomorrow at this time, I'll be home and showered (hopefully). I had a great supper with Celeste at Buffalo WoW Wings, and then we walked next door for desert.... at Zen :3 She wasn't crazy about the Kamikaze roll (too sweet) but she seemed to really enjoy the Saints roll...which, is good because it's awesome.

Anyway! We're ... pretty much all packed up, aside from necessities (toothbrush&Paste, clothes for tonight, clothes for tomorrow). It's kinda bittersweet... I got to visit with a few people, but I guess I had hoped I'd have more time to spend with everyone. Oh well. That's how it goes. Thank God for FaceBook :)

So, everyone pray for a safe trip tomorrow. We'll be needing it. 12 hours is a long time in the saddle =..='

Goodnight, Sunshines.

msmoon: (MM's Jellies!)

Welcome to the longest week of my life. Man, it’s just been insane. Work’s intense because I’m always tied to my screen for hours and taking random breaks only when it feels like my head will explode. Thank goodness it actually paid off, because I’m caught up quite a bit now. I’ve also been writing guides to tasks that only I do...that’s always fun.

I went out and got Scamp Saturday. The drive was fun, but my house was being whittled down little by little in the 4 hours it took. My parents had moved everything from upstairs into the shed and many of the things I just didn’t need as well. My mattress was on the floor downstairs. During the down-time we had when my parents were busy with...something else…Scamp and I exchanged birthday gifts! She loved her gifts and I was sooo happy! I got her the Hoard key chain and made it into a necklace, and I got her a Figure Print of Fallena! It was so awesome! And she loved it and stared at it in awe for a long long time. Scamp was...uh, a little disappointed when one of my gifts didn’t really work out. She and Bear had gotten me a beautiful necklace of an owl flying with a moonstone in it’s claws, but she’d also gotten me this tank that has fake jellyfish in it...but, the pump for the tank didn’t work so the jellyfish just sank to the bottom of the tank -..- so yeah, she was disappointed. I loved the necklace though! I told her, “I shall call him ‘Jareth’ and he shall be mine :-D!”. That night was miserable, because my dad’s snoring is unholy...and since we were all sleeping in the same room, that really came into play that night.

Sunday, after church, we all went to Subway. Tried that new Chicken Pizziola or whatever it’s called...it wasn’t bad. Just…not something I’d go out of my way for. When we got home, Mom and Dad had packed up to leave for New Orleans, but the battery on Dad’s truck died. So he had to go to town and get a new one. But once that was done, Scamp and I were pretty much on our own. The geek fest began and much talking and giddy babbling commenced.

Monday was a little harsh...work was just so intense after the more busy than usual weekend. Also, at this point, everyone’s panicked because they realize it’s my last week. Monday and Tuesday went by pretty much the same. I was so very very tired, and went home to talk more with Scamp and vaguely pay attention to Bones. We packed as much as we could, but even when we were doing that, we were talking so much it was like we weren’t working. My parents actually got back from N.O. that afternoon, but they were staying with my Aunt Carolyn for the night. And, yesterday, I canceled my DSL for the 20th, and then later that day, Scamp tells me that they unhooked the computer and packed the wires in a box =..= so yeah...work’s the only way to post aside from Voice Post...which may happen tomorrow ^..^ Scamp managed to crank out some seriously awesome WoW fan fiction too. I dunno if it's cause we just talk about our character so much or because here she can relax a bit more or what, but it was awesome! And just in time too, because my parents showed up to pack everything just after she finished =..=

Oh! And I found something I desperately wanted. I’ve been wanting a mac for so long, but I can’t afford it. Aaaand, I’d been wanting to get a lap top too, because…well, sometimes I shut my computer off and late at night I get ideas to write...and I’d just like to have a laptop. Especially since my Dad was saying there are two colleges in the town and I might go back to college again o..o But anyway! I looked on Amazon.com to see if there were any good laptops that weren’t too highly priced. Well, I found a pretty awesome
MacPro...and it’s about $700 (yes, it’s considered used, but it’s ‘Like New’ so I’m sorta ok with that!), which for a Mac is really awesome! So, I was thinking of saving up my next two checks as much as possible (which is what I’d be doing anyway) and spending my money on that...Merry Christmas to Me, you know? It’d be nice...

Oh, and last night, after class, everyone had a little party for me with this awesome cake and everything! It was funny because they gave me the cutting knife, and I sorta twirled the handle a bit so that the point was facing downward and just stabbed in the center of the cake, and everyone who was watching went, “Whoa!” After we ate and went over to join the others that were sitting about, C.J. asked me “So, did you get any more s words?” and I was like, “S words? Like…Salamander? Or...Sincere?” and he was like, “No! Swords!” and I was like. “oh....” only a minute later did I get S Words put together equals Swords...kinda like Flo Rida, put together is Florida. Yeah -..- I was tired. But yeah. I told him that I’d found the
Halo Sword on Amazon...and that I had a whole Wish List dedicated to various swords and weapons...he was thrilled, but I’m not quite sure why O..o Funny how it amazes me to meet someone just as geeky as I am...in a place where I thought I knew how everyone already was before.

So...today Reiko comes over. The girls said that they’re treating me to Zen’s (well, they said it was my choice so booya :-D.). There are still things to worry about...but I kinda don’t want to anymore. I’m so tired and I can’t. So I’m just going to give the girls at work their Christmas/Going Away presents and have fun and enjoy my last few days here. I even brought my camera today to mark the occasion. I don’t have enough pictures of the girls as far as I’m concerned. So that’s all I’m worried about today. I do still need a change of address form, and to talk to my Edward Jones guy, but I’m thinking that’s something I might be able to squeeze in today and tomorrow. I’ll just have to check. But I refuse to worry about it.

I guess I’m off again. I was taking a little brain break because in the little time I’ve had sitting down I manage to get 7 pages of stats done =..= I can’t wait till 5. So, I’m off again, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

ZOMG! Breaking Brain!

2008-Oct-31, Friday 01:43 pm
msmoon: (OMG! ONOZ!)

I am so grateful for my parents and my Aunt Batty. Last night, I came home, and Mom had boxed up a bunch of stuff already. But I still had to work on the pictures I’d printed out for the scrapbooks I’m making. I sat on the floor (again) for an hour+ filing all the pictures down to the size I needed...then I hobbled up to watch Supernatural. Oh, my thoughts on last night’s episode?...huh...that’s interesting. I was so tired (still am) that I can’t really absorb too much. I’m also trying to think ahead to what can be packed now and what can’t and what to do with it all. It’s driving me nuts.

I was talking to Mom, asking when we would leave. She told me that they would have to leave on the 22nd (probably very very early in the morning =..=). Which means the 21st is going to be insane. I think my parents are going to Houston for...uh, the 16th through the 18th...I think they’ll be back on the 19th. Some sort of school Dad has to go to. Anyway. I already told Scamp I’d be over to pick her up on the 15th some time, so I asked her if her parents could come and pick her up late afternoon on the 21st. I won’t know the exact time till I get the times for the movie, so I can’t tell them approximately when we’ll need them to come over. I’m thinking, Mom and Dad may be spending the night somewhere else so that Scamp, Reiko and I can wake up and do whatever it is we’re gonna be doing.

I swear, I’ve been planning for this thing for so long, I can’t wait till it gets here just so I can finally relax. I will be taking Zeis along just for fun-sake...gonna have to clean my purse out so I can get it in there and not be considered a freak……….ok! Not such a big freak! Geeze! I’m really just so very excited! I can’t wait to get together, even if it is gonna be crazy. It’s weird, because I already have ideas on what I want to do with Zeis and what we’re going to shoot for our little movie. Obviously, we’re not going to be bootlegging or anything, I just want to shoot us before the movie, going to the movie, after the movie, hanging out at Zen and Books-A-Million….I’m sooo excited XD!

So, our Edward Jones, financial advisor guy came over and told me that I have to roll all of my funds over into an IRA. Truth is, I’ve totally forgotten my login and password for that. I get my statement all the time and take a look, but...it’s just a little bit over my head so. Yeah. I mean, I can’t touch it till I’m 59 anyway, right? I hate having something and it not being mine, so there’s no point looking at all the money...that I cannot touch.

……………I am so tired. I almost can’t wait till the 23rd. Then I can crash for a few days before trying to find a new job...then again, I won’t really be able to relax till after Reiko’s married. She’s supposed to be getting married on the 28th of December. Oh, and yeah, I have to be down in the dress shop at 1:30 on the 13th for my fitting =..= Geeze. There’s just...so much.

Well, lunch is over. I’ll talk later, Sunshines.

Hmmm, guess now would be the best time to post all those Halloweenish quizzes I’ve been gathering.

You Should Be a Cat for Halloween

According to our quiz, you'd make an ideal cat.

Your runner up costume: Death

What Your Cute Monster Says About You

You are a deep, thoughtful, down to earth person. You don't put much stock in appearances.

You are never superficial or flippant. You take time in life to study, learn, and get to know people well.

You inner demon is laziness. You can get so caught up in your own world that you neglect everything around you.

People think you're cute because you're intelligent. Your wit and wisdom are charming.

You Should Be a Mummy

You are seen as exotic and mysterious. You keep people guessing.

You see Halloween as a time that you can defy expectations and show a different part of yourself.

You love to try to frighten people. You enjoy being a little creepy, especially on Halloween.

You enjoy breaking taboos and challenging what people are comfortable with. If that's scary, so be it!

You Are 25% Witch

It's unlikely that you're a witch. At least, no one thinks you are.

You may still be interested in witchcraft, but you're by no means a stereotypical witch.

While you don't seem all that witchy, people may think you're a bit weird.

You're definitely a little offbeat. No one really knows what to make of you sometimes.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (You're On Notice)

OK! So, this morning, I surprised myself with how very effective (yet still absentminded) I can be. As usual, when I have a trip to plan for the day that I’m planning to leave, my brain goes into severe OCD mode. This morning, before eating breakfast, I made coffee, straightened my hair, put the towels on to wash, got dressed, put Zeiss on to charge, updated TomTom’s maps, put the towels on to dry, checked my MySpace one last time, and headed in to work knowing that everything that wasn’t packed was stacked neatly near my suitcase, waiting to be hung up or go in bags. Of course, I forgot my lunch...but G was great and bought me some lunch (with the full promise that I will be buying Samurai Dragon for us next Friday).

My plans after work are to gas up my car, head home, pack up the car, shower, blow dry my hair, pack up those extra things, and then sleep. I don’t plan to wake up till 3. I’ll make a quick pot of coffee while I’m getting ready to go and then after a quick last-minute pack-up check, I’ll be off (with my coffee mug for help staying awake). I will (invariable) be calling several people throughout the day to a) appraise them of my status & b) spare myself from the inevitable boredom XD. If I don’t have your cell #, then you’re off’a da hook.

I know my parents have internet, but I don’t expect to be getting on that often. So…unless you’re going to text me, you may not get a hold of me right away. Just so’s everyone knows ^..^ I guess that’s all. If I need to know something, text me or make sure you get it to me before 5 this afternoon. Kthxluvsya. Later, Sunshines.

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test...

Computer Savant

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Geek and Dork, earning you the title of: Computer Savant.

People confuse you with a Nerd all of the time. You aren't some genius, like some people have said, and didn't/don't really like school all that much (and you especially hated some of the social aspects, like getting mocked). It's just that you have some passions and interests that you're extremely into/good at, and this has placed you in circles with other social outcasts, some of whom are exceptionally bright.

The awesome thing about being where you are is that you get to hang out with an elite group (though you'd probably rather be alone, or with only the closest friends and family) and you can make quite a good career for yourself in your particular specialities. Common to this group are people who are highly into electronics/computers as that is where the money lies, today.

Congratulations!

Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in any of the following:

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (RVB - Red Bull)

Movie night last Saturday was good…but also somewhat disappointing. It was fun because Ryan and Celeste showed up, but when I went to work Monday and everyone asked how it went…and I said only two people showed (out of the 20 I invited), everyone was kinda like “Awww, that sucks!” and I was like…”Yeah….but we still had fun.” So it was sorta disappointing that no one else joined in the fun, but it didn’t stop us from having our own fun. We watched/made fun of King Arthur. I think they were kinda confused, since this version is actually based on historical facts as opposed to the Arthurian legends. I have a habit of judging the work by itself as opposed to by anything else (i.e. I loved Lord of the Rings and admire the work that Weta did because it was pretty amazing in and of itself, even a lot of it doesn’t keep with Tolkien’s story). The movie was pretty awesome when you consider that the men who played the knights actually did their own riding, fighting, stunts and, well, everything. It’s just really impressive. The story wasn’t too bad either...even if so many people did end up dying =..= It was kinda funny, when I knew the love scene between Guinevere and Arthur was coming up, I told Celeste, “We’re gonna have to fast forward in a minute. There’s a scene coming up that I’m not old enough to watch.” They kinda looked at me and laughed like, “…what?!”.

Of course, I spent most of the morning/afternoon Saturday cleaning. I totally forgot to take a few pills of mine, and I was mostly preoccupied with either the coming party or planning in my head for Mecha Con (end of this week!!). Sunday morning, I woke up an hour and a half before my alarm clock was set to get me up and ready for Church. I rushed downstairs and had diarrhea so bad. I ended up having it four times before my alarm clock went off...needless to say, when that little alarm did go off, I slapped it off and curled up on my side for more sleep. Sunday was spent, mostly sleeping the morning away. I think I finally got up...around 11:30. I’m pretty sure I read, but that’s just what I usually do when I’m not feeling well. I can’t actually tell you what it was I did all Sunday afternoon. I don’t remember it at all. Whatever it was, it was fairly insignificant.

I do know that I started watching Supernatural again that evening after my shower. I just revisited the episodes that I liked in seasons 1 and 2. There was a part in Season 2, the Episode The Usual Suspects...at the end of the episode, Dean says, “Does she look familiar to you?” referring to the female cop that’s been helping Sam out all episodes long. Sam responds with a no. Dean states that he swears he’s seen her somewhere before. Then he states “For some reason I could go for some pea soup.” I never really understood that, so I went online and looked up the episode. Turns out the cop lady is played by Linda Blair…..best known for her work in The Exorcist ^..^ Anyone else fall over laughing? I know I did. Thank you, Super-Wiki. Oh, and thanks to my curiousity, I found out that season 3 of Supernatural will be available on DVD September 2, and the fourth season is going to premier September 18th. Yayness!!

Monday was so freakin’ long. Seriously. The monotony was interrupted a couple of times by Reiko. She called one time (and when I saw it was her calling, I flipped open my phone and said “What!!”. Everyone in the office turned to look at me like O..O’), asking me to please search Entertainment Weekly’s web site for a “spoiler alert” on the new Breaking Dawn book coming out (August 2!!!). She called again asking if I wanted her to come Thursday right after she got off of work. I told her yes, and she asked if she could wash clothes at my house. I told her it wouldn’t be a problem, in fact she could go over before I got in (since she gets off of work at 3 and I get off at 6….it’ll take her about an hour and 45 minutes to get there, but that gives her plenty of time to wash clothes and goof off and such).

I took a look at the (finally) finalized schedule for Mecha Con. Even though pre-registration starts at 11:30 a.m., walk-in registration starts at 1 (when the con floor opens up for everyone), and by the time I realized I’d be taking Reiko with me, pre-registration had closed. So, I’m actually planning on leaving the house around 9/9:30ish and getting there around 12 (I can get my registration stuff and wait in line with Reiko). Of course, I received my confirmation from the “Hilton Family”, and noticed that the check-in time was 4:00 p.m. “??? Quoi?” I called the hotel and asked if I could get an earlier check-in time, and they informed me that was the generic check-in time, and if I got there earlier that they could try to see if a room was ready for me…then I remembered that they did this to us the last time we went to Mecha Con. It’s like, they know the Con starts early, so if you’re not a day early then you have to show up and ask if there are any rooms available, then they can give you a room that isn’t covered by the convention rate. It’s such a bother. So, we’re just gonna leave our stuff in the car till 3/3:30ish and hang out at the Con till it’s time to check in (I guess. I don’t know if there’s anything else we can do).

Tomorrow, I’m gonna be getting my packing on, organizing everything and getting ready for Reiko’s sleepover and then I’m going to town for things I need. I need to find out what type of sandwich meat and cereal Reiko likes, too. Gotta put Zeiss on to charge...Definitely planning on taking the cam-corder for this ^..^ /thinking. I don’t know if there’s anything else I need to do...just pack and organize what I want to take and when. Oh, I need to check with Scamp and see if she still wants to come back with us on Sunday.......I have to take my “Vs. A Leo” shirt, if only because I’m hoping to go to the Vs. A Leo panel again. I think that’s all though. Gosh, I’m just so …anxious I guess. I don’t pretend to think this con is any better than what I remember last time, it’s just…something that breaks the norm and gives me some time to goof off with Reiko. And since we both might be moving out of state soon, it’s a good thing to have…I’m probably a little more anxious than normal if only because it’s the first big trip I’ll be going on that Mom won’t be with me. Seems a little sad...but that’s life.

Well, I got things to do. Lunch is almost over too =..= Damn relativity. Talk to ya’ll later, Sunshines.

Your result for Which Chess Piece are You Test?...

The Rook's Hawk

The Rook’s Hawk is like a judge. They have a great sense of right and wrong especially in their area of interest or responsibility. They are devoted to duty. They are punctual. People who set their clocks on others are typically measuring their time with the Hawk. It is common to perceive that the Hawk is cold or aloof. They frequently protect their emotions via practicality.

They work systematically to get the job done. When a new procedure is proven, they can be depended upon to carry it out. The Rook’s Hawk is deeply frustrated by the inconsistencies of others, especially when it comes to commitments. They will keep their feelings to themselves – but when asked expect truth over tact. They are quite able to make the tough call and carry it out. You will find the Rook’s Hawk at home in government, schools, military or any other organization which maintains strict hierarchy. They are the traditionalist and are perfect for balancing out the idealists of other types.

The Rook’s Hawk thrives on organization. They keep their lives and environments well-regulated. They bring painstaking attention to detail in their work and will not rest until satisfied with a job well done. They are obviously hard workers. They will sort through ideas and find the most practical ones, again revealing how common sense prevails in this type. This ‘Pawn’ is the cornerstone of an ethical working society. They are centered on dealing with the present and most practical affair. They observe life and promote consistency in society. They value loyalty and others are best to acquaint themselves with this type if they wish to gain a fruitful insight to what makes the world tick.

Strict Schedule

2007-Aug-06, Monday 01:17 pm
msmoon: (Light or Train)
Holy Bipeds, Batman. I think I’ve bruised my brain >__< I’ve had to almost totally reformat a six page evaluation form, organize invoices to be mailed out, make up two certificates for new therapists and then, I took my lunch break and decided to proof read/continue writing what little I wrote last night =___=’ I’z tired ya’ll.

I need to come up with some sort of time management thing...There’s not a lot of things that I do when I get home (usually). At least, not unless I have something specifically set to do. But, I was thinking of starting some sort of exercise thing...I think I’ll wash off my make up as soon as I get home and change into some exercise worthy clothes, and then I can go for a walk up our street. It’s only half a mile long, so walking up and back will give me a mile. That sounds like some decent cardio. I’ll start with that and then once I get used to it, I’ll go ahead and see if I can start using the work-out equipment in Dad’s shed.

after that, it’ll be cool out for a few minutes and then shower. Now after that I only have two things that I want to really occupy my time...Writing and Warcraft. Yes, I want to get back into playing WoW. Crazy I know, but I noticed that with EQ I never even got a character up to 20, and there really is no point in the game if you don’t at least try to play serious up into the higher levels. Now, I want to do writing, but only an hour at a time. So...It’ll probably take about an hour to 45 minutes to do my ‘work out’ …and as I keep doing it, I’ll probably gain speed and be able to complete it faster. So that’s 5:30 – 6:30. Then 6:30 – 7:00 will be cool out/shower time...then I can have an hour to write for 7:00 – 8:00. Then 8 on can be WoW time. I realize this rigid schedule keeps me on pretty late but I figure I will probably only want to play WoW for a couple of hours at most.

When do I want to start this? Well, after Scamp leaves this time. I was thinking of using our time together this time around to my advantage by getting her help on how to organize my closet and book storage. Sounds terrible of me no? Ah well, she’s had a week of vacation. So, preferably next Monday I’ll be starting this schedule. Now, as for parts of my body that I know need working on, I’m most concerned about my arms, legs and stomach. I accept the fact that I have a big ass, and that I will probably always have a big ass. I get it. It’s ok by me. I suppose it’s better than having a flat ass. So, I’m not really too focused on that. But, after I the walking/cardio I can do push ups, squats and crunches. It’s the only solution I see. And I figure I should start with those basic exercises before I even try to use actual weights & equipment. Once my system has gotten used to doing all of that, then I can move up the chain. I can hear Dad now saying “Take it slow” not to mention my cousins “If you die from heat stroke, I’ll never forgive you”, but I don’t have any illusions about doing this over night. I’m hoping that by next month I’ll have adapted enough to the current set exercise program that I can finally move up from there (and I’m talking about moving on to small weights). Then I can keep progressing up from there.

I’m the type of girl that needs a strict schedule…or I will be extraordinarily lazy. So, that is my plan thus far. God be with me.

My lunch break is nearly over...so this is as good a time as any to close this. Later, Sunshines.

Productive Packing

2007-Jul-28, Saturday 05:23 pm
msmoon: (Firefly - OMG Noway)
In the course of an hour, I have utterly destroyed my mother’s living room...and by “destroyed” I don’t mean that the house is now leveled and I am utterly homeless. No, by “destroyed” I mean “I’ve made a mess”. But even so, that mess is evidence of the impossible...

I was bored…that is my only excuse. And in my boredom, I looked at my collection of DVDs, then at the boxes in the living room….and back…and forth and decided that I had to do something to at least make some of this day worth my getting out of bed. All of my movies (save for 1 that I have loaned to Lori) are in a box. One box.….I don’t know whether to be more impressed at my packing skills…or the size of the box. Of course, I scowered the house for empty boxes…the left-overs are sitting in the living room…Mom would pitch an unholy fit.

But, I do have at least a week and a half before I really have to worry about that, and that’s plenty of time to organize everything. In the mean time, I’ve ordered some of the things that I wanted for my bathroom. I got a Lotion Pump, Tooth Brush Holder, Soap Dish, and Toilet Seat all for my bathroom. I also bought this 4-Piece Bedding Set which I can’t wait to get……….I also got Transformers: The Ultimate Guide…but..uh, that was just to make the order have free shipping and…oh, shut up. Don’t judge me. Now all I have to do is manage to leave enough money left over one week to buy the next season of Bones =..=’ I’ll figure it out.

I do hope that with so many diversions out of the way, I might actually be able to accomplish some writing. One can at least hope. Anyway, now that I’ve managed to accomplish so much, in so little time, with so few resources…(or something like that), I’m off to go and watch some of my movies before I have to tape up the box and go on sabbatical. Either way, I’ll write later, Sunshines.

Crazy Parents Calling

2007-Jul-28, Saturday 11:52 am
msmoon: (Mad)
The first crazy phone call was made about 15 minutes ago ^..^ my parents are now in Dallas, TX. They felt the need to alert me. They sound half-past crazy from the sleep deprivation, so I’m sure they’re having a wonderful time. More updates will follow as they present themselves.

Also, Scampers has agreed to help me pack my crap up. Isn’t that nice of her? Then again, what with having about 2 weeks together with nothing to do, I’m sure we’ll need some occupation. I figure the last thing we can do, is pack up the PS2 and my 1 game just before she leaves =..=

Other than making a few new icons for
[info]ruby_unicorn  and watching a buch of things that I taped over the week...I’ve done absolutely nothing, and I intend to keep doing nothing ^..^ See ya later, sunshines!

Well, this weekend was miserable. Yes, I live and breath and…burn. It’s a long convoluted story, and eventually I will get to it. But first...hows about we focus on what good was done.

I updated my movie list, beings as I’ve bought a couple of new things recently (or had things bought for me. Whichever). And then I decided to go ahead and pack up all of my box sets of shows and anime. It took two boxes to do, and I have cataloged these boxes with ID numbers and everything.

Reiko called me Friday afternoon sometime because she really wanted to inform me of this web site called TV Links (yet another great way to waste time). She discovered it and found out you can watch TV shows, Cartoons, Movies, Music Videos and the most important part (at least to Reiko) Anime. So, she introduced me to the first four episodes of Petshop of Horrors which is a very Reiko anime...I don’t like the tragedy that’s in every damn episode, but I did enjoy the depiction of the Kirin/Kilin and Medusa. That was awesome. I’d seen an image of a Kirin before (other than the kick-ass character that’s in CSHayden’s gargoyles fanfiction) and the thing I saw was not in any way appealing. At least PSOH got the image to look decent.

Something really...awkward happened Saturday. It’s a little weird and very painful, and extremely feminine, so I shall put it behind a cut so that no one feels forced to find out what happened.

I sure hope this day goes by quickly. Mom said that we would try to get in the Nexus and dust off the walls and stuff. That way when it comes time to pain, there’s nothing in the way...I don’t know that I ever fully understood that, but whatever. If it speeds the process along, then that’s fine. And that’s gonna have to be it for me today. Mostly because I just can’t think of anything else to write. Later, Sunshines.

Your Love is Based on Friendship

For you, chemistry doesn't really happen without compatibility.
Companionship and openness are the most important parts of your relationships.
Whoever you love should be your best friend.
And falling in love with a good friend is never out of the question.

Why your love can last: You only fall for people who you truly understand... and who truly understand you

Why your love can fail: Sometimes you don't admit how important physical chemistry is to you

Harvest Moon

PS: Oh yeah, I totally forgot, but my Aunt Batty went to better doctors (ones that don’t think she’s just a dramatic basket case), and they found out it’s her gallbladder that’s giving her the problem. Lori says there’s this nerve called the Vagas nerve (pronounced like Vegas) that runs from the gallbladder to the heart and if that starts acting up it can feel like heart problems. So, Mom and Dad are still on for going to Colorado on the 28th. Which means that when Scamp comes down we’ll have the house to ourselves...and she’ll be able to keep Fred company ^..^

msmoon: (Warcraft - Friends)
Well, I am back online. That is to say that AMOS is online. Tech Dude, (whose name is Dexter as funny as that is ^..^ Get out of my laboratory!!) fixed us up yesterday. Unfortunately, I was so tired after Mom dragged me all over Wal-Mart that I didn’t want to do anything but fall into bed. I’ve been wondering why I’m so tired, but then again it is bloody hell week so…and technically I did miss last month what with the Gathering and all. So I’m guessing I’m getting a double-wammy from that.

Oh, and you know...for someone who’s saving money, I sure am buying a lot of stuff. Or planning to buy a lot of stuff. I was gonna not spend a lot of money and start saving up for my MacBook, but I did a little bit of number crunching the other day. I went through Amazon and Pyramid Collection to see what items I wanted for my house (in blocks of which room they’d be going in), the prices of those items and then set up excel to add all that up. I’m gonna end up spending over $1,000. So, as much as I’d like to save up right now for that mac (which I’ll need a bare minimum of $3,000) I really would like to focus on my house. Apple will always have their computers for sale, but I need to get my house done now, and I’m not sure how long the things I want for my house will be available. So yeah. I make purchases each check (except the first check of the month for car insurance).

I’ve also realized that it will take me about 15 months to save up $3,000, and I’m not buying it till I have at least $500 extra in there…so I will be canceling my Warcraft when I move into the Nexus. I can’t expect my parents to keep the high speed internet that they hardly ever use when I’m out...so..work will be my only access to the internet. But considering that I’m not really an addict, it’ll be ok. Oh, O..o I need to get more PS2 games... that’ll be my only access to any type of gaming...Must get more PS2 games at some point. I should definitely take my wish list off of Amazon and start looking around or something.

Oh! I bought this air mattress thing, it’s called the Coleman 4-in-1 quickbed. That way if I have any guests over that are over late and they don’t want to go all the way home, they can bunk overnight at my place ^..^ It seems all of my friends live fairly far away...Reiko, Chibi and Scamp are all in different parishes (and that’s my friends in this state -..-)...And we tend to rant and rave into the night, so it’d make sense to just get sheets out and inflate the bed and have them stay over. My backroom will provide plenty of privacy for it. And with the 4-in-1 I can have 2 twins or a doubled up twin bed or a king. So, if both Chibi and Reiko want to stay over, they can. Now, if it’s Chibi, Reiko and Scamp…well, I’m considering getting a futon, so someone will end up sleeping on that =..= All this planning...it makes me realize just how poor I am.

I’m going to go ahead and start packing up things I don’t absolutely need (movies mostly). Of course, that means I’ll be making a catalog/list of all the movies I have and then labeling the boxes and recording which boxes they go in. It’s times like this when I bless my OCD.

In “trying to sound positive” news, I get paid in a week!...and I have most of that spent (in my head) already...which means, I’ll be getting more packages ^..^ That’s good. Speaking of money, I should probably be getting back to work. I’ll write later, Sunshines.

You Are Straight

There's not much queer about you.
So let's just say you're straight... but not narrow.

Thanks for clearing that up blogthings, I’m sure everyone was really wondering -_-

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Gargoyles - Face me)
6-21-2007, Thursday 5:10 / 4:10c pm

Wow. What a long and tiresome trip. Though, I must say, it was quite enjoyable towards the end. After the first four hours, I got so bloody exhausted the giggles set in. I was still dreadfully tired, but Mom and I took turns driving. I drove from 10 to 12, and Mom said she couldn’t sleep and would rather drive. So, I tried to sleep and failed miserably. I ended up staying awake to talk to Mom and keep her awake. I ended up driving again from 3:30 to 6 ...or 7...considering that we did loose an hour when we crossed the time zone.

We picked up Jen (my Twin-san) and headed to McDonalds for breakfast. Then we made her drive the rest of the way. My God...such an excruciating task. Driving 4 hours, insanely giddy from not sleeping at all in the past 24 hours, getting more and more car sick but the miles just keep stretching on. We finally got here around 11:30 and while our room was empty, it wasn’t clean. So we waited 45 minutes till it was ready. Gotta say...this hotel has been a tad on the weird side. Forget the fact that there’s some major construction going on in the lobby, but when Mom went to check in and get the key, she mentioned to the front desk man that we had Jacuzzi and he offered to “help us test it out”...um…*fake laugh* no.

When we finally got to our room, which is on the 3rd floor, and hanging right over the pool, we unpacked a bit. Then we headed to Wal-Mart to buy things we’d need (disposable coffee cups, paper plates, cups, food stuffs, etc).I also managed to get some post cards to send to everyone back home.

So now, we’re just relaxing...occasionally watching Retrace & snacking. That’ll be all for tonight...I hope.

6-23-2007, Saturday 11:43 pm

Wow. You know, we haven’t been half as busy as we could’ve been, and yet I still haven’t written much of anything. First off I have to say…this hotel is just weird. Not only are their cracks in the balcony above us (causing rain to trickle down onto our balcony from those cracks, but Jen says she only walks around barefoot in the hotel room and her feet are black. And that’s not even mentioning what happened late Thursday night. We were getting ready for bed, and Mom had decided to let us have the king size bed and she’d take the sofa sleeper. Well first off, we couldn’t get the sleeper out of the sofa =..= So, we call for help down to the front desk and a nice chinese man comes up, takes a look around and says “I know this room. Hole in couch.” There is a hole in the back of our couch, and a tiny pointy metal thing sticks out of it! He asked for a towel, and put the towel over the whole and told us not to movie it….O..O Que? Later we found out that the toaster and blow dryer didn’t work either. Then my cousin Faren comes over, and he’s a builder, and he says this place looks like it’s about to fall apart...great. Oh well. On to the good (no great!) parts of the convention.

Friday was easy-going. I think I woke up around 8, but I didn’t actually get up till 9. Our first panel was at 11, so we didn’t need to hurry. We went to FanFic 101 with Kathy Pagge. There might’ve been 12 people there. It was a great panel and I recorded it with Zeis, learning to use my fanny pack as a base for the camera.

There are 30 minute breaks between the panels. So we went to the room for food. Then we attended a “Grimorum Making” panel. It was actually some artists/art students showing us how to make books. They’re usually used as sketch books, but you can use them as “convention books” or anything else. It was a lot of fun because everyone’s so relaxed and fun.

There was a long break between then and the “Opening Ceremonies” which was fun, if slightly excruciating. They usually have a projection screen, but this time they only had a big screen TV…of course that meant if you were sitting anywhere behind the 3rd row, you were unable to see said TV. So we all stacked our chairs on the sides of the room and sat on the floor. Jen and I kept having our legs fall asleep, even though we were on the front row. They showed us the original preview for Gargoyles given to the press when Disney decided to go ahead with the show, and they had the volume up really really loud to mimic the effect it had on the reporters. There was a lot of crashing and roaring, and when the lights came on and Greg Wiseman started out with “So...” I said “What?!”. My ears were still ringing slightly @..@ But he went on to tell us that all of the reporters had kids and Disney was releasing this ‘kids show’ that looked and sounded very scary. So the obvious question was, ‘What type of kid show is this.’ …the obvious reply was ‘It’s better than Barney ^..^ Very cool.

We were also shown the preview for Bad Guys and an Atlantis/Gargoyles crossover...and we were assured that the comic book would be a continuation of the Gargoyles series, with Pendragon, Timedancer and Bad Guys to follow. That will be something to look forward to. I’ve already bought the 4 issues of the Gargoyles comic that are out, so I can’t want to see everything else. There was so much discussed at the Opening Ceremonies, but I only taped the first part of it, because I knew a lot of it was ‘off limits’. Jen got up and just left because her legs were killing her. I followed not too long after because they didn’t last too much longer.

Now today was much the same...till evening. We attending “From Fan to Pro with Karine Charlebois. That was interesting but really better for artists. After that was “World Building” with Daroneasa, which was very fun. We all talked with her about building the worlds in our story from the ground up; everything from society to religion to families. It was great. But it only lasted till 3, so we headed back to our room. Mom and my cousins (who’d come down from their place to go sight seeing with Mom) wanted to go to the Aquarium, but they decided to wait till later because it doesn’t close till 11.

So, Jen called her boyfriend and told him about what we’d been up to. She eventually got around to telling him that I’d purchased some swords from a place called China Bazaar, and he told her that was what he wanted as a souvenir. So we headed back (and I bought a couple other things). Then we got back and went to the Aquarium. Well, we went to Gatlinburg and ate first. Then we went to the Aquarium. Twas fun, but my legs and feet were killing me. I bought Jen and me some sea turtle souvenirs.

We went back through Gatlinburg, and she got us these things from Kilwin’s...they’re rice crispie treats on a stick, dunked first in caramel then in chocolate and laced with darker chocolate. ...her Mom calls them sex-on-a-stick. We also stopped at a little shop called Lavis Jewelry that had these really cool fairies. I bought a mage-looking fairy with a crescent moon staff, and Jen bought a hanging fairy holding a hatching dragon, it’s just like the one I got for Reiko last Christmas. She said that she has a lot of dragon figures, and it wouldn’t make sense to just buy a fairy. There were some lovely dragons that both of us loved, but the smallest was $50 and the price kept going up from there O..O

6-24-2007, Sunday

Wow. What a busy day. Evidently the Radio play was pretty awesome last night (or maybe it was the blue mug..yeah, definitely the blue mug ^..^). Our first pane of Costume Tip Trading with Jennifer Anderson …turned into Costume Tip Trading with Lynati. I don’t know where the head of the panel was, but she couldn’t make it so Lynati (who’s a veteran of Gargoyles everything) took over and answered questions and included everyone. It was great…but I’m not into the costume thing. I thought Jen would enjoy it though, since she likes to cosplay a lot.

Next we went to Gargoyles Physiology & Culture, and that was headed by Greg Weisman, Lynati and Jade Griffin. That was only getting good towards the end, and then we had to leave because we were dying of hunger. But I did manage to tape all of what we did see. So that was good. I’m not so crazy about evolution, so the whole first part about their actual biology and how they may’ve evolved wasn’t thrilling. But to see Greg Weisman light up while discussing Gargoyles culture was great. It’s funny too, because he’s not an expert in biology and such so he’d ask Lynati and Jade Griffin questions like “Would that be possible?” or “This is how I see it, tell me if I’m right in my layman’s terms.” It was really great.

We had wanted to go to the Bad Guys panel that was going to be a showcase for the upcoming Bad Guys comic, but we ended up being late, and then decided we’d rather not disturb them and walk in right in the middle. That was a bit of a bummer, but hey, we had to get food @..@

The Banquet was fun. We had one of the girls who joined the “Order of the Phoenix Gate” sitting at our table. Turns out, Thom Adcox had decided to get a tattoo after one of his panels. Well the people in the panel were like “What’re you doing now Thom?” and he said “I’m going to get a tattoo.” So they all went and got the same tattoo of the phoenix gate. The girls got it on the small of their backs and the guys got it on their bicep except for Thom who got it on his ankle. It was pretty sweet. I have to say, that’d be one awesome tattoo to get, and I don’t even like tattoos that much. *shrugs*. After seeing that, Jen was itching to go out and get a tattoo. I think she must’ve thought about it the whole time we were at the table ^..^ I don’t even know the names of the people at my table, but they were all cool. There was one girl that actually had a tattoo of wings coming out from her shoulder blades. That was uber leet as well. The only thing that was annoying was that there was one girl (whom I shall not name) who kept barraging the guests with questions, mostly about Puck and all running together. At one point I leaned over and said “Maybe one of us should ask what Puck’s favorite color is before she gets the chance to ask another 3 questions.” It was annoying, but funny at the same time.

We headed to the room again for the break between things, and a storm cropped up. It wasn’t mush, just a bit of rain with high winds and thunder and lightning. Of course, this hotel is so shoddy that the door started shaking. Jen was on the phone with her boyfriend, and she was laying on one side of our king size bed while I was on the other side writing post cards. The wind kicked up, and suddenly she’s launched herself into my lap O..O Twas amusing. Then she says to her boyfriend that “It’s like a hurricane outside!” and I’m like “Turst me, hon. This is not hurricane worthy ^..^” That made it even funnier.

The Masquerade was fun, but shorter than I thought it’d be. We did get there early, just to make sure we’d have good seats. Of course, Jen’s camera died 3 seconds into the whole thing =..= Oh, and of course, we were sitting in front of a lot of uber leet people, and I was too paralyzed to introduce myself. I just figured I’d be bothering them. I mean, they came to have fun at the gathering, not be pestered by some fangirl . So, I held my tongue and place and just watched the Masquerade. I tell you what, they had a lot of really nice dresses on the contestants (that I’d never have the courage to wear), but the Gargoyle that won for best in show was just awesomeness on a stick. And they had a lady that was a “Belly Dancing Fae” and let me tell you, she could really belly dance well for a lady her age. I hope I have that much control over my body in 20 years =..= She was awesomeness. It really made me want to get those belly-dancing pants that I’d see in the dealers room too. But alas, my Jen had inquired about them and the lady had only brought one. Anyway, after the awards were given out, we left. We’re not good dancers (or minglers evidently >..<).

Oh yeah, speaking of the Dealers room, we had so much fun there (and I spent a lot of money there). I bought 2 chain-mail bracelets from Vox, a ‘sea horse’ painting from kth-dragon, and a fairy painting for Jen. It’s really great to buy from artists directly, because they’re always so happy that you’re buying from them. We spend a lot of time there just talking and hanging out. There was a beautiful replica of the Phoenix gate that was a necklace, and I really wanted it, but it was up for auction, and we weren’t staying that long, and I didn’t have the money for it anyway. The artist alley was pretty cool too. I recognized a lot of stuff from artists I've admired for such a long time. It's a little sad that this is our last day too. On one hand I really wish I could stay, but I know it's not at all practical. Ah well. Such is life I suppose.

6-25-2007, Monday

Probably the most miserable day, but only because I get so car sick and we were traveling all damn day. We decided to leave that morning, if only because we had spent so much money and we just really needed to get home. So, we left around 10 that morning, after loading the car down with all our crap + all the crap we bought ^..^ We headed to Gatlinburg as a favor for a friend. Lori had given me money to buy her some wine. It’s her favorite and it’s only sold in that area. So we go and find it…and they don’t have it. It wouldn’t be ready for two more weeks. Le sigh. It would’ve been a total loss except that we saw a pet store right next door, and the owner had her pets in the store with her. I love those types of shops. I got myself a Doxxie shirt, and I think Jen got herself a English Bulldog shirt, pen and bookmark...she and I are such dorks. We’re not even dog owners yet! But anyway.

We drove for hours till we finally got to Atlanta. Jen drove the whole way (thank God). And we ended up leaving Atlanta right in the middle of rush hour traffic. We were not happy campers. It took us about an hour to 45 minutes to get out of Atlanta. Just down-town Atlanta, not the whole city, mind you. I think we left around 3:30 or 4ish, and Mom drove for a while, but she wasn’t feeling great. I was borderline panic-attacking, so I just laid back and tried to relax. We pulled off around 5 to go to the bathroom and get some nachos and cheese (gotta have the basics), and I took over driving. I drove from 5 to 11 that night, and we were about 60 miles away from New Orleans when we pulled over to get gas. Mom took over after that, and I just stayed up to keep her company and talk. We got home around 12:30ish a.m. I think I showered, and then went to sleep. We woke up…I think at 12 p.m. We were unpacked and happy…even if the day was very short. I guess it made up for the day before that was so damn loooong.

That has been my gathering experience. I enjoyed it if only because I got to spend a lot of time with Jen. Spending tons of money on cool swag was fun too ^..~

Harvest Moon

Preperation sucks

Beware, for I am: Tired Tired

Ok, so here’s my list of things that I have to take to Mecha Con.

  1. CDs & CD Player
  2. Camera & Camera bag
  3. Notebook
  4. Stationary & Addressed envelopes
  5. Red vs. Blue Shirt
  6. Soup Shirt
  7. Shorts (for Sunday)
  8. Capris (for Saturday)
  9. Jeans (for Friday)
  10. Fanny Pack
  11. Bathroom & Shower products

I realize that I need at least one more shirt. I intend to wear the Red vs. Blue one Sunday (it's bigger and more comfortable so it'll be perfect for the whole day and the drive home), and the Soup one will be worn Saturday. I just need to think of something to wear for Friday's drive up and the day. I'm still on the fence as to whether I wanna even take my makeup with me or not...I doubt that I'll want to wear it. And it's not like anyone'll be taking pictures of me.

Oh yeah, side note: if anyone wants me to write them a letter from the convention on my stationary, please say so by comenting and giving me your address. I guess that's all for now.
