MMPSA -- Devastating
2010-Jun-13, Sunday 01:03 amPlease, bear with me. I've pretty much dissolved into tears every single time I so much as think about this. It was very grueling to film and edit this video, but I'm hoping that having it out and up will somehow help me to feel better. Being born and raised in Lafourche, LA, makes this a very sensitive topic, and not just for me.

- 09:58 Queen Anne's Lace has been popping up all over the place. The flower has such an intricate pattern,... dailybooth.com/u/3670h #
- 11:37 Dad finally finished up pouring the foundation for his shed, with some help from the boys and the pastor. #
- 12:10 We're headed to Branson :) #
- 13:32 What's all this I hear about boycotting BP? So because one rig made a huge mistake we're going to put millions into unemployment? Geeze -..- #
- 13:35 @Davlenagain People in general rarely make sense. Suppose they wont try for it now. #
- 13:38 @wotcherscamp That's a tad illogical. BP is a company. The crew on the rig are the ones who made the mistake. I'm guessing they are paying. #
- 13:39 And no ammount of punishment will fix the problem -..- #
- 13:43 @ShinnodaDude Six letters: google. It's major news. #
- 13:44 This should sound out to other oil companies the importance of saftey regulations... My dad's rig just did that procedure with no problems. #
- 13:45 Countless rigs do that, but they follow the safety regulations. #
- 13:48 @wotcherscamp It's illogical because punishing BP as a whole will involve punishing people in no way connected to this. #
- 13:49 @wotcherscamp If your dad worked for BP he'd be out of a job, and through no fault of his own. #
- 13:51 @wotcherscamp dont think for an instant that I've forgotten the wetlands. I just understand that no ammount of punishment will make it right #
- 13:54 You can punish BP all you want. When your villian is gone, you'll still have oil in your wetlands. Forgive me for seeing a biger picture. #
- 14:04 It'll only put millions of families into unemployment if you just focus on punishment. #
- 14:08 @wotcherscamp You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were actually picking a fight when all I did was state a simple opinion. #
- 14:13 @wotcherscamp All I said is that punishing everyone connected to BP wont solve any one's problem. Still fail to see where that's wrong. #
- 14:16 @wotcherscamp And btw, this is a discussion over twitter. You aren't really standing up for anyone. You're tweeting. #
- 14:19 By the way, having a dad who works in the oil field. BP is already spending millions a day to plug this hole. #
- 14:25 That's odd. I thought I was asking you to objectively look at something and see more than your own part of the problem. I appologize. #
- 14:34 @wotcherscamp You're the one getting worked up over this, not me. I'm just stating my opionion. It doesn't bother me that we disagree. #
- 14:41 @Davlenagain Tell me about it. Dad working in the industry gives us a unique view into that business. #
- 15:23 Why hello Branson Landing. #
- 15:44 Just got through shopping at Belk. I'm set for about a year, and, dear God, but it was much needed. #
- 17:10 Home. Fixing a home spa thingie up for Mom :) #
- 17:17 So tired... and so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I actually can't wait till my doctor's appointment -..- #
- 17:24 This is a picture my dad took of me and my horse Rocky. I was probably about 16 or 17, so this was about 10... dailybooth.com/u/36drq #
- 18:21 It doesn't matter anymore... #
- 21:23 Gawd...I have the worst sinus head ache now =..= #
- 21:25 =..= Gotta remember tomorrow to try and forget today. If Mom starts to think I'm depressed, she'll get worried. #
- 21:27 Can't wait till I can shower... #
- 22:10 there's a point where you just don't deserve anything you're going through. #
- 22:52 Towels are washed and put away. Must shower now. Early morning tomorrow =..= #

Noticeable Differences
2009-Mar-23, Monday 02:47 pmIt has been so beautiful out these past couple of days. My allergies really don’t react to Spring well, but I’ve been managing. I’ve said before that I’ve traded the rain of Louisiana for the winds of Arkansas....it seems the statement just keeps getting more and more real. To be sure, it does rain here in Arkansas...but not like it does in Louisiana. There, everything’s water, and here everything’s air. The rain here comes and goes, a passing day-long drizzle that you barely notice if you don’t happen to step outside. In Louisiana, the sky raged, pounding down upon roof tops, echoing in thunder and startling flashes of lightning. There was no escaping the rain in Louisiana, but here...it’s barely noticeable for me as rain. The locals talk about it like it’s significant, but for me...it’s a simple trifle in comparison.
Another thing about the wind? It makes it difficult to swing. I’ve been swinging every day now - first starting with 15 minutes at a time, then increasing to 20 minutes (today and yesterday). The wind makes walking much more difficult, threatening to blow you down easily, and though I’d hoped leaving the ground on a swing might change that, it has not. The wind both pulls you forward when you wish to swing back and thrusts itself against you when you wish to swing forward. Aside from the normal aches in my legs and lower back, my hands are also very soar, not only the muscles but the skin. I suppose gripping nylon rope for 20 minutes is simply something I’m unused to -..- But I fully intend to keep at it in hopes that the aches will eventually fade as I become more used to it :)
The beauty of Spring is truly noticeable. I wish I had my camera, but Mom absconded it for her trip...though I don’t know why you’d want a camera at a funeral >..> But, there are tiny purple flowers all about that I absolutely love, not to mention the cherry tree is in full bloom! I’ve decided to use my deviantArt page again for the pictures that are really nice, and I’ve got 4 new ones up there so far. I have the picture of the Crocus flower, two shots of the blossoms on the cherry tree (1 & 2) aaaand the one that Mom took of me on the swing...with my vary appropriate shirt :3 I only wish I still had my camera, because there are tons more blossoms on the cherry tree and more flowers still!
Mom and Aunt Carolyn were supposed to return yesterday (to my knowledge) and they did not...in fact, I haven’t heard from them since Friday night. Dad has called every day, though, and according to him, Aunt Carolyn’s passenger window was busted at some point....soooo, perhaps they are staying a day later in order to replace it and all. She did call me this afternoon to tell me that they were on their way and would probably be getting back sometime later tonight....
Oh! Also, thanks to my friend Alicia, I am now caught up on the Harry Potter series. She loaned me all of the movies yesterday, and I’ve watched them all. And while I find this world/story interesting, it’s not something I would obsess over. Oddly enough, Harry isn’t a character that I love....in fact, I favour Hermione or the Weasley Twins more. (and not just because the Weasley’s last name, and my last name are so similar it almost scares me...seriously, there’s only one letter different o..o). And, while I think the books may be something worth reading...I really don’t feel like spending money on them any time soon. So, until priorities changes, I shall simply go off movies.
Ah well. I haven’t eaten lunch today, so I should probably be about that. Later, Sunshine :)
You Are Going to Heaven |
![]() You're so saintly you're practically an angel, and there's no other place for you than heaven. You are always concerned with doing the right thing. You consider being a good person a joy... not a burden. You're not perfect, and you don't expect anyone else to be. You are ethical without being sanctimonious about it. You are happy with yourself and the decisions you've made. And that's what's important. |
Home Run! Or...running home...whichever!
2009-Jan-08, Thursday 08:13 pmWe are home at last! We left Aunt Carolyn’s at 3:15ish in the morning, and we went over to IHop and ate breakfast. We headed out from there around 4 and got out of Abbeville around 6. We got here around 4:40 p.m.
But not before I got dreadfully car sick! Engh...I have never gotten that car sick. I was laying down in the back of Dad’s truck, and I wasn’t really sleeping, just laying there. Well, I sat up when I felt the turns getting really sharp and the inclines very steep. After about 15 minutes of talking to Dad...I was very nauseous. So I told him I wasn’t feeling good and I’d laid down. But, it was too late by then =..= We just kept going around those turns really really fast, and I would tense up every turn or every inciline, and I was breaking out in a cold sweat...and then Dad’s like “Whoa! Look at that!” Aaaaand I lean up, and what do I see? A huge 18 wheeler on the side of the road in the opposite lane....that’s sped out of control, slammed into a tree and shattered into a million pieces O..O; Yeah, we have runaway lanes for the 18 wheelers up here btws, and something tells me they shoulda put one there!
I was fighting my stomach the whole way, but we finally made it...halluljah. I’m all unpacked and just so relieved to be home. Oh! And I found my gnome necklace! I had gotten Fally a silver gnome necklace for Christmas (and a mushroom night light), and I had gotten two, one for me and one for her....well, I had wrapped her present months ago, but I couldn’t remember where I’d put my necklace. I though I’d put it in my jewellery box, but in the move I had put a ton of stuff in there last minute. So, I got fed up with the disarray, so I started going through all the stuff there...and lo and behold, underneath a pile of huge screws (who put those there anyway? It wasn’t me this time), there it was. I was so ecstatic. I immediately put it away where I knew it’d be safe.
I am so tired...I just hope we didn’t forget anything...or much of anything. Oh well. I’ll go ahead and log off. Later, Sunshines.
