Home Run! Or...running home...whichever!
2009-Jan-08, Thursday 08:13 pmWe are home at last! We left Aunt Carolyn’s at 3:15ish in the morning, and we went over to IHop and ate breakfast. We headed out from there around 4 and got out of Abbeville around 6. We got here around 4:40 p.m.
But not before I got dreadfully car sick! Engh...I have never gotten that car sick. I was laying down in the back of Dad’s truck, and I wasn’t really sleeping, just laying there. Well, I sat up when I felt the turns getting really sharp and the inclines very steep. After about 15 minutes of talking to Dad...I was very nauseous. So I told him I wasn’t feeling good and I’d laid down. But, it was too late by then =..= We just kept going around those turns really really fast, and I would tense up every turn or every inciline, and I was breaking out in a cold sweat...and then Dad’s like “Whoa! Look at that!” Aaaaand I lean up, and what do I see? A huge 18 wheeler on the side of the road in the opposite lane....that’s sped out of control, slammed into a tree and shattered into a million pieces O..O; Yeah, we have runaway lanes for the 18 wheelers up here btws, and something tells me they shoulda put one there!
I was fighting my stomach the whole way, but we finally made it...halluljah. I’m all unpacked and just so relieved to be home. Oh! And I found my gnome necklace! I had gotten Fally a silver gnome necklace for Christmas (and a mushroom night light), and I had gotten two, one for me and one for her....well, I had wrapped her present months ago, but I couldn’t remember where I’d put my necklace. I though I’d put it in my jewellery box, but in the move I had put a ton of stuff in there last minute. So, I got fed up with the disarray, so I started going through all the stuff there...and lo and behold, underneath a pile of huge screws (who put those there anyway? It wasn’t me this time), there it was. I was so ecstatic. I immediately put it away where I knew it’d be safe.
I am so tired...I just hope we didn’t forget anything...or much of anything. Oh well. I’ll go ahead and log off. Later, Sunshines.

Ok, so I’ve looked everywhere, but I cannot find my Labyrinth Necklace. I know I told myself to pack all my jewellery in my jewellery box, and anything else was suppose to go directly into the pockets in my suitecase...and I’ve scowered everything and cannot find it! I’m upset with myself because at this point, I don’t have money to spend frivolously, so I can’t replace it. And it was one of those favourite things and now it’s gone =..= I’ma go eat some oreos and console myself before I get too far along on this self-smacking train.

/pout. why cant it come out before the premier of Twilight? Oh well. Still. I’m glad I have it either way ^..^
9, much like 11, is a number I like for my own quirky reasons. But 9 turned into a foreboding number yesterday. I got home from work and changed into something more comfortable, straightened up the living room a tad (Reiko was coming over) and then headed over to my parent’s house. Dad was supposed to spray my house, so I asked him if he found a wasp nest on the back of my house. He said, “No, I didn’t find a wasp nest, I found nine!” O..O’’’ Wow. So, yeah. That explains the wasp problem I’d been having in my house. Hopefully I won’t have to worry about it….well, I’m sure I won’t since Dad said he practically hosed down the backside of my house ^..^
Reiko dropped by around 6:15 yesterday afternoon. She showed me the trailers for the soon-to-be movie Twilight, based on the book. I seem to remember the book…at least, the cover of it…I think my Twin had told me it was awesome. So I was excited to see that a movie about it is coming out. Really should get those books before the movie comes out. She also dropped off The Pearls, which she said was amazing, and she’s upset that the next book in the series doesn’t come out till November. Then we watched Tin Man, or at least the first “episode”. She thought it was awesome and she said that was something her dad would love since he was a Wizard of Oz freak. She left around 9, so I didn’t get to shower till then.
It was pills, quick shower and then BED!!! For me. I slept so hard and so good. I swear it’s the best night’s sleep I’ve had for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately…I woke up at 7 O..O I leave for work at 7:30. So, in record time, I put on coffee, got dressed, straightened my hair, ate cereal and left. Well, I guess at least I know now that I can do that if I need to =..=
Oh, yeah, something else great happened yesterday! I did a random search for Invasion American DVDs because sometimes that stuff happens and I have no idea until much later. Well, I found this place called iOffer. I found all the 13 episodes on DVD available by this amazing seller, the store's called Lion-O’s Den, so of course she rocks (...at least I think it's a she O..o). She has some really great products up there for really good prices and they’re all in great quality. So I’m stoked. Not only did I get all of Invasion America (PS: there are 7 other copies of it if someone wants to get it too!) I also got all of Daria, which I’ve only ever seen the movies out. So I’m uber happy, even if I’m completely broke. It’s ok though; I get paid Friday. Hell, I would’ve bought it even if I had a week to wait for fresh money. I haven’t seen I.A. since it aired in ’98 and I am so excited to get it.
Speaking of things that are awesome, I’d totally forgotten it but I ordered THIS PEACE OF AWESOME a while back, and I finally got it in the other day! I wore it to work even (and since it was black shirt Tuesday, it actually matched). It’s much smaller than the one that he wears in the movie, but that’s good because it is made of metal and something that big would give me a headache. It’s perfect if you ask me.
…there are a lot of links in this post. But I’ve been so sick for so long, I haven’t felt like saying much and now, I have so much to say! But now I’m running out of things to say….tonight, since I’m actually feeling better, I’ll be at church. Ohh…I really must wear my new necklace ^..^ Mom’ll love that /sarcasm. Oh well. 2008-Mar-16, Sunday 03:02 amWell, it’s past 2 in the morning. I just got out of the shower after getting home from Reiko’s house. I was headed over there this morning because Saturday (the 15th) is her birthday. I had gotten her Saw III, Saw IV, The Ring (w/bonus disc Rings), The Ring 2, the Black Widow Tank top, and this Silver DRAGON SKULL Crystal Pendant Amulet Necklace from Silver Insanity...all in all, a really great birthday for her. Also, J10 had said that he really wanted to get pizza, but Reiko complained that they couldn’t afford it (which spawned a slight argument), so I offered to pay for Papa John’s Pizza...that was our lunch and it was delicious.
We went and saw Doomsday…enh…funny as hell if only because it was so off the wall. You know what Doomsday was? I’ll go ahead and just sum it up for you...It was like someone decided to make THE Doomsday movie with everything doomsday-olicious in it…throw in a wild, Celt gutter-punk society that’s cannibalistic and crazy and then mix in a society that would seem to be opposite, the medieval people living as knights in a castle…yet their societies are almost exactly alike in how barbaric they are. Include a few gladiator scenes with the knights and chases with the crazy Celts and you’ve got Doomsday…oh, but did we forget the whole plot of the virus? Oh…it seems we did. Oh well. Great movie, no?....that was Doomsday. It blew my mind, if only because it went so many places I never thought I’d have to visit in one setting. I’m sure there are some points that I forgot to touch on…but that’s because it really went so many places and blew my mind.
We went back to their place and J10 had to shower and get ready for work. After he left, Reiko and I talked about it and decided to go to the mall…if only to say that we went somewhere…Road trip/window shopping adventure. So we went all the way to the mall…which was daunting because Tommy, my new TomTom, confused the heck out of us. But we got there. We made a few laps, looking at the various stores, and then decided to leave…because browsing in a mall that big isn’t really great unless you actually intend to buy at least 1 thing. We did not.
So we went back to Reiko’s place and started watching the second season of Supernatural. I must say, that I am terribly allergic to 2 things: Cats and Cigarette smoke. Reiko smokes and has 2 cats that are very fluffy. I spent the next few hours fighting a cough and ended up hacking about anyway. I tried very hard to suppress it, but it just wasn’t working. And as you can see, I am here. Home. I apologized to Reiko for not being able to stay the night, but I figured I probably wouldn’t be able to sleep as it was anyway. My head was throbbing, and I was getting a tension headache down into my neck, and my chest seemed to be throbbing too out from my esophagus…and since it was getting worse instead of better, best to leave now before I left her my left lung as a birthday present as well =..=
So yeah. I beeboped my way home and here I am. Got here around 2/1:50ish and showered. I feel a little better…I hope my parents let me sleep in tomorrow. I’m so tired…and now the pills are kicking in at last. Goodnight.
My Ring of Power Broke!
2006-Dec-12, Tuesday 11:21 amI was so heartbroken last night. I was about to take my shower, when my moonstone ring slipped right out of my hands, hit the metal shower knob and cracked in two! It was a clean cut on both sides of the band and now it’s two (very nice looking) pieces of moonstone. I consoled myself by remembering that they aren’t expensive, nor are they by any means hard to find. But still, it was one of those moments. I remember thinking “I wonder if that’s bad luck…wait, I don’t believe in luck... O.o” The two halves of the ring are now resting in the little X-men: Evolution Nightcrawler locker that my Twin got for me. The same place everything else that I don’t use but can’t bare to part with goes.
I need to figure out what Scamp’s Christmas plans are...and a few other people’s now that I’m thinking on it. Mom and Dad aren’t sure if they’ll even be here for Christmas because Bub needs a car and they might have to bring their mercury to him for the time being. I might very well be by myself at some point during this holiday. But I only get Christmas day and New Years day off. I certainly hope things at least slow down at work =.=

Rocks in my Head
2006-Nov-16, Thursday 09:59 pmI should be off this box, but alas! I am not. I got my Moon Crescent Pendant in the mail with some coupons for $10 off the vendor’s store...Then I read it again and noticed the ‘earn your wiccan degrees online’ part and that kinda fizzled. I did glance at it, and it’s got some seriously cool stuff on it. It’s called Sacred Mists, which is really dramatic but uber cool. I can find all their jewelry on Amazon, so I’d pretty much decided not to use the coupon. Then I saw the Crystals & Gemstones section and nearly came unglued. Those of you that know me well know why I’m such an avid rock/gem collector and why I’m almost obsessive about the hobby. So this site’s now officially become invaluable to me if only for that reason. Mom and Dad wont be thrilled that I'm buying these things from a wiccan site...but wiccans gotta eat too na no da ^.^ It made me want to search for books on gems again though =.= Honestly. I’ve got two huge ones already.
However, I’ve no real intention of using this coupon. So I’ve decided to make this post detailing the whole thing if only for the benefit of whatever wiccan friends I may actually have here on LJ. If anyone wants to take advantage of the coupon I’ve gotten, by all means comment. I’ll hand it on over and at least someone will be able to use it. I hate letting things go to waste.
In other nerdyer news, I also received the 3rd and 4th seasons of Batman The Animated Adventures. Coolness to me. I can’t wait to watch them all, and since I’ve been feeling under the weather all damn week, it will be a nice diversion.

Work was work, life’s great, yadda yadda; now!..I gotta talk about something...
As most of you know, my religion is firmly grounded in Christianity, though I hesitate to call my relationship with my creator ‘religion’. I’m no afraid to search into the roots of other religions and listen to people whose perspective on life and everything else open-mindedly (s’that a word?). So today, I was shopping over on Amazon to get ideas for the ‘Mouto-chan’s birthdays and Christmas presents (even though I already have them in part -.-). Now, there’s nothing I like more...than good, well-made, cheap, Celtic-style jewelry. And any time I look at jewelry (or anything) for anyone else I end up looking at stuff for myself. So I went browsing, and I came across this little place called Silver Insanity. They have some nice stuff. But anyway, I saw these ‘Celtic Birth Charm’ necklaces. And I was like...huh. And they were very pretty and I realized that there were 12 of ‘em. There’s one for January 1 - 22, January 23 - February 13, February 14 – March 8, March 9 – 31, April 1 – 23 , April 24 – May 16, May 17 – June 8, June 9 – July 1, July 2 – July 24, August 17 – September 8 , October 2 – 24, and Dec 10 – 31. There are some gaps, but that’s not really the issue that bugging me. What bugs me is that I had no idea there were ‘Celtic’ birth charms...( this one’s mine btw!) So, like anyone I put ‘Celtic Zodiac’ in the Google search engine and got this page back. From what I gather (and I knew this), the Celtic Zodiac is based mostly on plant life; more specifically on trees. But I can’t find anything about birth ‘charms’.
Does anyone know anything about this? I’d love to find a site that explains which charm is for what month, why and what it represents. I’d continue searching, but my pills are kicking in. I wish I could give it a bit more effort though. I’ve been packing today and making sure I’ve gotten everything for Mecha Con. You’d be surprised how many things you remember you might need when you get right down to packing (like ice chests with tons of drinks and sandwich meat and so on). I’m really beginning to fade here...I just realized that a show I said I didn’t get and thought was silly just went off. So..=_=’ g’night.

Ring Sizes and Artsy Types

Ok, so today was mostly uneventful. I didn’t wake up till like...11. But that’s probably due to the interruption in sleep last night…err...this morning. Right...
Reiko came over to check her My Space, and while she was on AMOS, I realized that there was crap pouring from every direction from under my bed -_- My general cleaning tendencies is to have something that’s clean, then it slowly gets cluttered from constant use, it stays that way for months till I get fed up and clean again. I didn’t actually clean my room, but I did organize a bunch of the stuff that was under my bed. Now all the books, papers, binders and stuff are in a neater fashion in my dresser shelves. But then of course, Reiko had to leave and go off somewhere else...probably work or something. She did say that she’d come by tomorrow and we could watch Final Fantasy – Advent Children together. I’m looking forward to that.
After she left, I realized that there was stuff pouring from the drawers of my dresser, so I went through all the drawers – throwing away old things that I no longer want/need to make room for better things that I enjoy. Then I went through my closet. I get rid of all the empty hanger and put them in the laundry room, and then I organized my closet so that shirts (sleeveless, long sleeve, and dress) and pants (jeans, shorts, and dress) are all in their specific areas. Then I realized that I’d done a fair amount of organizing, and decided to loaf.
I rewatched the second disc of Children of Dune again. I don’t know why, but I keep getting a yen to see it over and over. I will soon grow sick of it and then move on to something else, but as it now is satisfying me I will continue to do it to-death.
Also, the other day Mom and I went to a local jewelry place, and while Mom was looking into getting a better medical bracelet I got my ring sizes. Ever since I out-grew all my old rings, I’ve kinda been in the dark about what size my fingers actually are. I’ve had rings and bands on Amazon bookmarked because I didn’t know what size I needed so I couldn’t add them to my wish list. So, the nice people at the jewelry store confirmed what everyone who knows about this issue already knew. I have really big fingers. Here are my ring sizes for future reference:

Pinky – 7
O__O Yeah. So after I fished out the business card that I used to write those sizes down, I went over to Amazon to add those that I could to my jewelry wish list. It kinda bums me that they don’t make a lot of ladies rings in my sizes. I mean, I’m not the only girl with big fingers in the world. Why not cater to everyone of us? Oh well.
Mom and I watched CSI: NY together. Man what a trip. I told Mom last week when the show was starting that I’d be very careful about dating a really artsy guy. Because really hard-core artists find things that give them great pleasure (aka Love) as inspiration, and they can get obsessive about muses because without that muse they don’t have their art, right? Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s just a thing. Or maybe it’s just because I think I’d feel self-conscious about someone painting me or painting while thinking of me or whatever. I mean, I’m not beautiful in the least, so I’d be a little freaked and all. But anyway. On the flip side, it reaffirmed my disdain for Kid Rock. So, all in all, a good show.
Ok. I’m going to go to bed now. Tomorrow I’ll watch Bones but for now, I’m just too tired. G’night.

Ma'at was the goddess of physical and moral law in Egypt, of order and truth. She was not much of a goddess, but more of a concept. She was what was right; she was the way things should be.
