Cleaning and Cracking

So! Today was my first chiropractor adjustment... gotta say, it's totally not like all the other times. This chiropractor doesn't believe in crackin' ya bones :) and I'm grateful. Of course, Instead, she slowly realigns things with a small machine that gives a very firm *tap-tap-tap!* sensation. It may sound like something that wouldn't be terrible... but have it going up every vertebra of your spine and... well.

So, according to my x-rays, one of the lower discs in my spine is leaning forward drastically, thus pinching a nerve... which is why I have severe back pain not to mention constant tenseness in my back. Also, my neck is a little more forward than it should be, and my jaw is slanted...so Dr. Lindsey is working on all of these things at once. She also said that I should put a cold pack on my lower back at least once a day to help with the tendernes...and I should sleep with a pillow under my knees. Trouble is... I actually don't have a spare pillow at the moment. Gotta say, after she adjusted me, I felt... strange. Not hurt or anything, just off. Or perhaps what was weird is that I got up feeling distinctly not-off, but when I tried to walk, I kept veering to the side and nearly smacking into walls -..- yeah.. so I was ... uh.. dissorented. Oh yeah, I was so disoriented, I actually forgot my purse there! I was so busy focusing on walking straight, I didn't even remember that I didn't have it! So, we called them up and said we'd swing by tomorrow to get it sometime =..= They were nice about it.

The doctor also gave me a book to read about reversing allergies... which would be awesome. It'd be great to visit with Reiko and not feel suffocated because of Chimera-bear :3 I wubs dat kitteh.

Speaking of Reiko, I haven't heard anything from her or Jim. I'm sure she's busy with recovery and thus keeping everyone else busy but... I expected to get something. I'ma have to call her tomorrow... there's just nothing else for it. I did get a very inappropriate text message one morning from her that had to do with the late Michael Jackson -..- Honestly...

Oh, also, today, I finally got the pictures from the Youth Lock-In up onto FaceBook (I know, I probably annoyed everyone who was following me on Twitter... assuming that that's a great number of people...). Anyway, I made it so "everyone" can see the pictures so, if you want to take a look at them,
GO HERE. Comments are adored :)

Before ... when the day was starting... There was a great storm this morning. I mean, the wind made my house jiggle again. And the thunder! It was that ripping thunder that feels like it's in your back yard, tearing up your atmosphere :) I was still tired, and it was 8ish, and I know that I dozed off... unfortunately, I woke up more tired than I had been =..= Hate it when that happens. But, I made breakfast and then slowly started moving things about in the living room - tidying up and all. Then, I let Harvey (my Roomba vacuum) loose in the living room. While he was running, I would periodically venture into the kitchen to see what needed to be tended there. I put Sophie (my dishwasher) on and emptied her, and made sure the countertops were clean as well. So when Harvey finished with the living room (and had recharged and all), I put him to work in my kitchen. I was very happy to see that both living room and kitchen were clean today before I left for the chiropractor's.

When I got back, Alicia was already here. I made hotdogs real quick, with chili, and we each had two while we started watching the second disc of FuruBa. Dad popped over at one point to get himself and Mom a couple of hot dogs too, but over all we sat, ate and watched :) We didn't stop till we'd seen it all too. She's very tempted to buy it, but considering her financial situation, she really shouldn't. The girl actually gets a paycheck (albeit a small one) and she's worse off with her money than I am. Still... at least she can pay her own bills.

So, I haven't gotten any calls from the doctor's office I applied to. But I sent off a fax yesterday to answer an add in the paper. I also have heard that a local business is hiring... I'm just trying not to get discouraged. Oh well.

Hmmm. The second long post in the same week. I must be having a good enough time if I want to let everyone know all this stuff :3 But the pills are kicking in, and I still haven't showered. And I'm actually tired. Still, the day's been long and strange. I feel like I've earned my rest...even if parts of me still feel... off. I mean, I seriously feel fine, but when I try to do something I'm all wobbly and uncoordinated ... this is probably the closest I'll ever get to feeling drunk ^..^ Oh well. I'll write later, Sunshines :)

I am currently in my house... albeit fighting with my internet >..> But that's ok! I'm in my house! My bed and bedroom are all set up, and I just took my first official shower (after a very long day of moving various extraordinarily heavy objects into said house). The area with the best signal strength is in the back of the house around the office/guest bedroom area ...so I'm making due with what I have :) At least, until Dad moves the router to his bed room... then the signal might be better.... I hope. Either way, as long as it works.

The hardest things to move... were things with drawers in them. Dad and I spent most of our time taking drawers out of things and moving the drawers single file, then taking whatever the drawers were in. My night stands weren't so bad, right? And we took apart the bed and that made it a little easier. Still... it wasn't easy. I'm hoping that that'll be the hardest of things to move...because we still have my computer and TV/TV stand to move o..o

Dear God,

Please let the worst be over?

Much love,

Me

=..= So.... I'm basically just sitting in my guest room filling you guys in :) After that it'll be nothing but relaxing, and Mako-kun will turn into a glorified DVD player >..> No offense, buddy.

Tomorrow... or maybe even the next day, we're going to get groceries... for both houses. Because I'm next to bare over here and Mom and Dad are getting low too. So, we're stocking up tomorrow. Probably move a few more things too. As for tonight... I'm thinking of marathoning it :D Something to celebrate you know? I mean, I've got Chinese take-out in the fridge and all, so... what's better than left-over Chinese food and a movie marathon? So! That's where you shall find me now; in my house... watching hoards of movies ^..^

Later, Sunshines!

Good Day :)

2009-Mar-17, Tuesday 12:26 pm
msmoon: (MM - Genki!!)

Yesterday was a great day. I mean, it wasn’t fun as in Ammusement-Park-Loaded-With-Excitement fun, but more of then Dang-but-that-was-a-good-day fun. Dad had to leave that night, and I had decided to cook. My speciality, fried rice with egg rolls and Mom showed me how to make sirloin stir-fry. But, during the day, Mom and Dad went about doing some errands. Dad finally took his truck into the shop to figure out what’s wrong with it. It’s been giving him trouble for a while now. Plus, they had other errands to run... I stayed home and washed clothes and did the dishes and all.

When Dad got back, he hung a swing in one of our trees. I had told him that I would love one of those one-person-rope-on-each-end-of-a-single-board swings....you know, the kind you swing on when you’re a kid and you can just go on and on for hours because you can swing yourself without ever touching the ground? Yeah, one of those :) Aaaand he finally got around to doing that. It’s pretty sweet if you ask me. It’s hung in one of the oaks near the garage/basement entrance, and it’s just a nice view in front.... I told Dad that we need to put another swing on the other side of the tree, and then rig a bench around the base, that way if two people want to swing they can...or if one person does and the other prefers to sit that’s cool too. Yay for reliving childhood :D

Mom and I watched some of American Idol....but we didn’t really watch too much TV. We did walk down to the back of our property. There’s a cedar tree there that took a whole lot of damage from the ice storm. Dad says he’s going to use the fallen limbs as kindling because evidently cedar makes for great kindling. We also surveyed another section of our land, this one the place I hope my trailer will soon be. There is much preparation that will need to be done for that. Luckily, the people who sell the trailer also help with arranging the area for the trailer to be on, and they take their labor for preparing the area out of the trailer fee....which is pretty awesome.

Oh! My commissions finally came in yesterday too! Our mail passes really late in the afternoon here (like 3ish), so when we were walking the mail went by. I went to go and get it and lo and behold, there was my commission from Kth. I contacted her...in 2007, after I’d attended the Gathering of the Gargoyles in Tennessee. Her artwork really just captured me, and it was awesome how she just seemed to understand animal anatomy so well. It made me think that if would be great to work with her on animal sketches since she’d really be able to help decipher what was all fantasy and what could actually work. So, I asked her to draw my 4 Ancients for me...and, over the period of 2 years I finally got them. We both ended up going through circumstances that lead us away from the project, but now it’s finally finished! When I got them, I immediately put them in protective sleeves, because I don’t have frames to put them in yet, and, well, a house to hank them in =..= So, they’ll have to go in with the artwork that Scamp drew for me for now....until I can get them framed properly. Anyway, the pictures are all at her deviantArt page. There’s
Kaze The Wind Lord, Kaiyou The Ocean Lord, Tenkaichi The Earth Lord, and Shakaku The Flame Lord.....and they look so awesome XD It’s just so nice to actually see them...outside of my head. These were the first four characters that I ever thought up, and they’ve been with me since I was about 10. I still don’t have anything to represent their human forms, but I knew their animal forms would be more dynamic, so I was very eager to find someone who would help me with that. So much love for Kth for this. I hope if I can find a job and get back up on my feet again, to contact her again :) I also got Sea Horse from her...because it’s just so awesome :) Shoo-Bee-Do my @$$ :3

Oh, I got my tax refund in too, which is awesome. Sure, it’ll mostly go into a savings account, but hey. Having money is always a good thing. I just hope I can get a job and keep that money untouched until it’s otherwise needed. Tomorrow, Mom and I are going to head in to town and I’m going to apply at the local college, along with a few doctor’s offices and I’m also going to a staffing place. I’m optimistic that if the other places aren’t haring, at least the staffing place will help...though, the realist in me knows no matter how many resumes you hand out or interviews you go on, your fate is entirely in other peoples’ hands.

Anyway....after supper yesterday (which was early strangely enough), I made some oatmeal raisin cookies (my favourites) and they were the enormous ones....they were awesome. I made sure to pack some away for Dad’s trip, because they’re some of his favourites too. He and Mom wanted to watch Wheel of Fortune....and I took that as my queue to get on World of Warcraft :) Yaviel is finally level 40, and she’s wearing a rockin’ red outfit....actually, I’m just grateful that she’s out of the short-shorts -..- Those were a tad embarrassing. Got to talk with Scamp while she was on too. That was fun. I was slightly distracted by my Dad’s GPS dilemma. I asked him if he’d taken his GPS out of his truck (which he’d put in the shop) and put it in my car (which he was taking for his trip out). I got a “O..O” face as a response, so I had to give him a bit of instruction on how to use my GPS so that he could actually get there. Thank God for GPSes though...I’d be so lost without them :3 punny.

I guess...that’s really all there is to talk about. We did go to Branson with the Pastor and his wife Saturday, and I have pictures from there that I really need to upload to FaceBook and MySpace (there was sushi; we went to Wasabi for supper...I still prefer The Sushi Place, but when you’re with people who don’t eat sushi, it’s considerate to go to a place that has more than just sushi). Other than that there’s really nothing else to talk about. So...Guess I’ll write later, Sunshines.

Time Warp

2008-Sep-04, Thursday 12:52 pm
msmoon: (Mononoke - Strange)

What day is it? It’s …Thursday, right? Good God...I’m telling you, in a off the beaten path country home, time stands still. If you don’t have something to divert you, it all runs together and you forget what day it is and what the heck’s going on.

So, Reiko got up here safe and sound (though there’s always some question about just how sound she is). She and her mom and dad all stopped in a resort town called Fairfield Bay, which is about an hour and a half southeast of here. Scamp and her peoplez actually went to my Aunt Lane’s house. I know the power went out and at some point, their generator went out too, but evidently it’s back up and running. I’m sure since it’s farther north, the power will be resorted soon.

I had a bit of a way-side adventure yesterday. Reiko had told me that she and her dad were heading down Wednesday morning, and that if I wanted to, I could go with them. She figured we might not be able to get back into Houma, but her house in Hammond (Robert) would be reachable. We could bunk there till we could come down. So, I packed up most of my stuff (forgetting a lot =..=) and headed over to meet them. We all went to Wal-Mart and stocked up on the essentials we’d need (potted meat, water, gas cans, and for me and Reiko granola bars and pop tarts). Well, after checkout, I get a call from my mom (who was really upset that I we were leaving so soon), and she said that the mayor said not to even bother coming back till Friday; and, that power would not be restored for up to 2 to 3 weeks! So, that was very discouraging, but her opinion was what clenched it. She said she didn’t want me going down there when it was still a disaster zone, that it was her birthday and she wanted me here where it was safe. So...I sold Reiko and her dad my gas cans and potted meat, and came home. Reiko was a bit upset about this (not as upset as she was about my driving though >..>) but she got over it and I came back here.

…And now Mom and I both have some freaky sinus infection that we’re fighting =..= Reiko called sometime…the other day…and said that they had decided not to leave. That she was feeling sick with a sinus infection too, and they’d gotten the bulletin about not being able to go back till at least Friday. So, now they’re planning on leaving tomorrow morning.

I called Blue Bird (my boss), and asked her if they’d evacuated or if they were alright. She said that they’d made it to Baton Rogue, but the hurricane hit just as badly there. I told her my mom wasn’t allowing me to leave till it was safe, and she said, “Oh no. No don’t leave at all. They’re not letting anyone back in and there’s no power.” So, she has my private e-mail, and she’s going to e-mail me updates, but other than that, I’m not really worried about work. I also called Cole, and she said that her family was heading back today (I think her hubby manages one of the power plants). She said to call her Saturday before I even thought about coming so that she could give me updates first. I also called my energy provider asking if they had an estimate for when my area would have power. They told me to call back Friday. So…here I am. Can’t go home and no idea when I’m gonna be heading that way anyway.

I don’t have a TV or anything in my room here, so the only thing I can really do is read. I brought Breaking Dawn and The Host by Stephanie Meyer. Both of them are great books, and I’ve enjoyed reading them over and over…and over..and over again. Unfortunately, I’ve dang-near memorized them and…well, after 50 times, it becomes a little old. I did buy the 3rd season of
Supernatural today. I got it at Wal-Mart, because I figured “Why not?”. Of course, no private TV to watch it on..so. Yeah. I’m stuck admiring the pretty pictures on the cover (and man, are they pretty ^..^). And, I did a recent search, and Bones season 3, is available for Preorder. Of course, it won’t be coming out till November 18, but still. It’s something to look forward to.

This…whatever. Sickness or whatever you want to call it, is seriously fooling with me. I’m so tired and disoriented and…just miserable. I just want to be in my own home. I love Mom, and Aunt Carolyn is alright, I just like being on my own too much. I like having my space and my stuff and my routine. Here...if I don’t feel like watching HGTV for a 24 hour period or switching over to the Hallmark channel, I really have nothing to do. So yeah….No way to entertain myself away from the fact that I’m miserable. If I wasn’t feeling bad, then none of this would really bother me so much. But I am..so. Yeah.

I guess I’m just gonna go ahead and sign off now. There’s really nothing more to update on (that my frazzled mind can recall). I’ll talk to ya’ll later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

At Laaaaaaast!

2007-Oct-01, Monday 12:16 pm
msmoon: (MM - Genki!!)
OMG, the whole weekend Comcast glitched our internet and we haven’t had any! sigh. Saturday…I finally moved into the Nexus ^..^ And I have spent the weekend in my own house! I was so excited and happy about that...of course, I couldn’t tell anyone because of the internet situation -..-

I only just got to go and check out Scamp’s Fabel’s Library of Arcanum Forum. It looks really cool! Better than that Invision Free site. Aside from the obvious questions (Is it easy to work with? And can you set your forum to private?) I’m thinking I might end up using that one for the forum that I want to make. I’m thinking of ripping her rules too, since they’re so...thorough. I think I’ll call the forum Creativity Crackers or maybe Creativity Crack-Ups would be better. But if it has anything to do with me and my group of friends, it’ll definitely have to have something to do with Creativity.

So, my first weekend in my house...it’s a tad of an adjustment. There’ve been surprises along the way; some good and some not so good. Saturday was move-in day, and after moving in so much stuff, I was just so tired and bruised. I sat in my big comfy chair watching first Heroes then Howl’s Moving Castle. Then, I went to take my shower, and after securing the door (as best I could), stripping out of my grimy, sweaty clothes, and making sure everything I had was where it needed to be…I took a shower…a very …very….cold shower. =..= That’s right, Mom turned off the hot water heater, and forgot to turn it back on. But after all that to get ready for the shower, I was not about to dry off, get out, get dressed and call the rents to politely ask ‘what the hell?!’ al la Kinsey. So I just took a cold shower. Then I put on fuzzy socks and brewed some coffee to warm up.

Some time during the shower, the neighbors on the street behind me decided to hold a bon fire/dance party, making it sound like there were natives doing some strange war dance in my back yard. They didn’t stop until around 11 that night.

My washing machine and toilet have a leak somewhere in their hoses, or so we thought. Dad determined that the leak for the washing machine was actually coming from the faucet and not the hose. So I’ll “just have to watch it”. The toilet’s hose doesn’t leak all the time, so I just have to keep a wash cloth on the ground where it drips =..=

There have been some good surprises. We assembled my TV stand and set up my TV on it with my VCR/DVD player. Then my Mom says “Well, hook it up to the cable, and maybe she’ll catch the first few channels or something.” So Dad hooks everything up to the cable and all…..and channel 42 is coming in nice and clear....<..<……..>..>……then we remembered that our renter was a cable dude, so he probably figured a way to steal our cable...and I have no idea how he did it…so I’ve no idea how to undo it…and quite frankly, I don’t care. I’m going to count that as a blessing and leave it at that. ^..^ Free cable, yay!

The only thing left to move in would be my futon, my end tables, my jewelry box, my dressers, which will go in that back room for holding office stuffs (but the one with all the drawers will act as a guest’s dresser), my clothes and my computer, which I have no idea when that’ll go in. I don’t intend to take all of my clothes mostly because I need to “spring clean” but also because the closet is in need of some…minor…repair.

I need to buy curtains and black out shades for the front windows and my bedroom window too. I also need a curtain for the little kitchen window and the bathroom nook where I have my toiletries, toilet brush and other unmentionables. I also would like to get some small stools for my little shelf/table.

I am so soar from moving so much in. But I can’t wait to get everything where it’s supposed to be ^..^ We still haven’t moved my books or my bins...I’ve been filling up a wal-mart bag with my movies every time that I visit my parents house. My DVD cabinet is almost full from all my box sets & anime, but that whirling DVD holding for my movies isn’t. And I can’t seem to find the second one that I bought…I know I didn’t take it out of the box /shrugs.

Oh, and I found out you can’t just pick up platters from Sam’s. You have to order them. So, this week some time I’ll be ordering a few platters from them (fruit and sandwich mostly, though I do plan on getting a cheese cake tray from Chick-Fil-A) ^..^

The only real down side is of course, that it really is easy to hear everything going on in every room. My watch has been beeping every hour on the hour, and I put it in my bathroom so that I wouldn’t hear it as I was sleeping. Then at 10 that night as I’m crawling into bed, I lay down and hear *BEEP* <..<…>..>…=..=’ Yeah.

Over all…I am thrilled with my house. It’s not perfect, but I would get freaked if it was. Upstairs, I have my bed, a lamp and a small chair right in front of my dresser/night stands. It’s a little crowded but it so cozy. As opposed to the living room which is very open with very little in it at all other than the chairs and TV. I like that though, because it distinguishes my space from entertainment/shared space. The kitchen and bathroom just have this...charisma about them with their themes and all. It’s just cute. The only room that’s still a blank slate is the back room...and since I can’t do much with it yet, I’m trying not to sweat that.

I’ve slowly been writing this between breaks through the whole day. So now I don’t have to worry about loosing my lunch break ^..^ Which is actually right now. Hope everyone else is doing as good as I am. Later, Sunshines!

No one told me how great cookies and cream milk shakes from Chick-Fil-A are…why is this? I mean, zomg, anyone? They’re only made of awesomeness that even a McFlurry or Blizzard could not contend with…or maybe it’s just because my teeth are so sensitive to the cold, and the shake is easier to swallow than the other things. Either way, I just have to say, they are made of awesomeness.

In case anyone didn’t notice, I’m in a good mood. Last night I RPGed with my Twin-san, today...well I didn’t get to do that. But my dad’s home, and we got to sit and watch Survivor: China together...a show that I really don’t care about but Chinese culture is pretty awesome. So yeah. And Mom brought home some boudin and boudin balls, yummy goodness anyone? Yeah. That’s what I thought. And the floor dude has finished almost everything in my house. The only thing he has left is the bathroom and some closets. That’s it...So why wouldn’t I be in a good mood, right?

Tomorrow, Dad and I are gonna …”uninstall” the toilet that I currently have there and then take measurements and go look for a new one (and of course by "Dad and I" I mean, I'll watch while Dad does the uninstalling and measurements and help if I can ^..^). If we can find a good deal, I’ll have a new toilet in there by tomorrow after the floor dude finished with the bathroom. It’s just so awesome. I mean, we’ve been saying that it’ll happen soon…but it seemed like soon was more 'Aslan’s soon' than my soon. Those of you who haven’t read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader probably won’t get that…heck even if you have, you might not (in the book, Aslan tells Lucy that they will meet again soon and she asks him what does he call soon and he replies with “I call all time soon.”). It was like “yeah it’ll happen soon, but soon is an immeasurable amount of time, so you’re still in constant limbo.”

Our head nurse Lori is off to Las Vegas, but that didn’t stop her from calling us around 11 and asking what we were doing for lunch (since that seems to be the same question every damn day). It dragged on in some parts and sped up at others. We played our first joke on Kamila. She has a bag of candy, like I had, only it’s kept in her drawer. Dena moved the bag to Lori’s drawer when Nicole encouraged her to play a prank. Kamila was looking for it everywhere, albeit discretely. She’d gone in the back and looked for it, she’d gone to the downstairs kitchen, she’d looked over our desks for it, and in the hallways, she even looked in her car and called her fiancé asking if he’d taken it. Finally she asked, and we played dumb for a little while before telling her where it was. Then we all shared candy and enjoyed the sugar high.

I came home and watched Supernatural till Mom and Dad got home, and of course that was right around the time my Twin and I were supposed to meet. So I sent her messages saying that I wouldn’t be able to make it (she hadn’t pinged me so I assumed she was busy with something) and went to spend the rest of my evening with my folks.

And now...I’m tired (as always). So I bid you all goodnight, sunshines.

Concerning the Floor

2007-Sep-06, Thursday 12:43 pm
msmoon: (MsMoon's Crescent)
OK! So, Floor dude came over yesterday and looked at the house. He said that in a week (exactly) he will go with Mom to the store to buy the flooring that I want. After we get the floor, he’ll just set the boxes in the house over night…evidently the wood needs to get acclimated to the house’s temperature. So then the next day (Friday of next week), he’ll come and lay the floor. I had thought that I’d just move into my house the day afterward...but my bed’s too much for Mom and I to handle. So, I’ll probably be moving small stuff that I can definitely live without in until Dad comes back in, and then I’ll be moved in for good.

Oh, and for those that care, I have posted a few pics up on my FaceBook. So, if you wanna see those pictures, look for Tracie Marie in the New Orleans group ~..^

Dad, Mom and I all met in town for lunch today since Dad’s going to be heading off shore before I get home. I hope this starts a family tradition so that I don’t have to get a miserable call from him while he’s on the road that he’s leaving. And it was a great meal with great company.

I actually wrapped, decorated, put the card in (and decorated that too), then taped up Jen-Twin-san’s present….and then realized that I wasn’t sure where I should send it to =..= So yeah, I had to e-mail her about that, even though her birthday isn’t until Oct. 23. I like to get things done early so I don’t have to rush when it comes time to actually do them. Don’t judge me. But yeah, I’ve got that taken care of. The place I got the ‘Mouto-chan’s Christmas presents from hasn’t sent me Reiko’s =..= They said it was out of stock and they’d be sending it some time this week /drums fingers on desk. Scamp’s birthday and Christmas presents are wrapped and ready to go. I have Mom’s Christmas present. I’ll get Dad’s closer to Christmas. The only gift(s) I have left are Bub’s…and since he hasn’t so much as called (not even for Mom’s birthday) for two months...I’m not even certain I should get him one. I know I should…there’s just a bit of lingering doubt. The part of me that wants to strike back at him for not calling Mom on her birthday…but I don’t know if I want to be that immature about that. We'll see.

Well, I guess that’ll be all. I don’t have much of my lunch break left. I’ll write later, Sunshines.

If anything, you're annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs.

As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they're only human.

Working Weekend

2007-Sep-04, Tuesday 11:08 am
msmoon: (Obsessions)
Whoa...ok so, quite a bit of activity since I last posted. Friday afternoon...we worked a lot in the house. Dad said he’d laid all the trim out so that could paint it all. So, I primed and then painted all the trim that needed it...and aggravated my Syactic(sp?) nerve making it really hard to walk. Dad said that I would have to rest up Saturday because he didn’t want me over there if I was just going to be hurting myself more.

Saturday I was feeling terrible. My whole right leg and part of my right side was really killing me. So, I hobbled around the house for a while, trying to slowly put weight on my leg so that it would just adjust (or I would adjust to the pain, whichever). Mom and Dad stayed over at the house for quite a while, and I made myself useful by doing the laundry and brining them food and drinks.

Reiko called that afternoon/evening and asked if I’d mind hanging out with her for a little while. She said that her grandpa had died the day before and she was depressed and just wanted some company while she did chores and stuff. I didn’t mind since she drives me around and then drops me back off. Plus it’s nice to spend time with her when I can. She actually gave me my birthday/house warming preset. She said she couldn’t wait to give it to me. She got me Stardust...and the page is evidently not fully constructed yet. It’s the blue one on the end. She knows I collect them so when she was on vacation she saw this one and got it for me. Now isn’t that sweet? So, I decided to name her after Reiko so that I always remember where I got it. She had to take care of all her critters and clean up her room a bit. Milo’s cage needed to be cleaned out, her beta fish’s vase needed to be cleaned out, the litter box had to be changed and she wanted to show me her new snake. It’s a pink girl snake, which I assume will look great next to her red snake Mephisto. But we got the chance to talk a bit, and she just needed to keep busy so she wouldn’t be so depressed and she didn’t want to be by herself.

Sunday was Mom’s birthday. I had gotten her Wolfgang Puck 18 Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set, Quigley Down Under, Rachael Ray 365: No Repeats, and Sterlng Silver Filigree Dragonfly Hook Earrings with a matching necklace…that doesn’t appear to be in stock anymore. I had put the Quigley Down Under DVD in a box with the Necklace & Earrings, and I placed the Rachel Ray book against the back of that box and wrapped both together. And I’d been telling her for a while that I had all her gifts taken care of for the year, so she was fairly excited to see what I’d gotten her. So, after breakfast I gave her the small gift that I’d wrapped all together. She opened it and loved everything. Then I pretended to get confused and went in my room and brought out the huge box of pots (which I probably should’ve gotten Dad to do, since it aggravated my back all over again). She really loved all her gifts and was in a great mood before we left for church. Se was bragging about it to everyone she could.

After church, we had dinner at Sicily’s, which I enjoy if only for the salad bar ^..^ ...and desert =..= Heh. But yeah, we were supposed to go to Outback, but there was such a long line that we decided to head over to Sicily’s with my adopted grandparents. I swear, I enjoy throwing a lot of crap in my salad and Sicily’s is the only place I know that has a huge bar just for that. Anyway, after that, we headed home to get the other car. Dad had to go to the nursing home because it was his Sunday to sing. Mom and I headed to Budget Cuts and I got a hair cut (that I’m not totally happy with, but it’s hair, it’ll grow on me). Then we went to Wal-Mart to shop for groceries...and I ended up buying the first season of Heroes...I couldn’t help myself. We got all our groceries and headed home. I ended up watching disc 1-4 Sunday night and I didn’t really get to bed till about 3 a.m. O..o

Monday...I think I slept till around 10. Dad woke me up and I ate breakfast, then I got ready and we headed over to the Nexus again. I painted all of the bathroom trim, which is the only trim in the house that is a different color. Then we realized that we needed to paint the trim around the doors and windows =..= I guess it was more like, I realized the white trim was still on the wall, and Dad realized he’d forgotten to tape off or take off that trim for me to paint. So, after I painted the bathroom trim, I put first coats on all the stair rails, the sides of the stairs and the upstairs rail. Dad had to take a break for lunch, and I figured I would too. We took a break for a while and then headed back. I put second coats on everything and Dad put the first coat on the beams after cleaning them. Then we went to town and looked at trim. I found some that’s partially decent. We ate at Rally’s that night which is one of my favorite places even though I never eat there.

Last night, I got up to disc 6 on Heroes and I started reading Writing Out the Storm. It’s a pretty good book so far, but I’m kinda getting tired of the “Don’t be afraid, just write” theme that keeps repeating in the four chapters that I did read. I’m still planning on reading it though, just to see if it gets better.

I have to say, this weekend without internet wasn’t too bad. It was more like an annoyance than a crisis. The only purpose I had for internet was buying stuff from Amazon (and other places), chatting (which I don’t do much of lately), e-mailing (which no e-mails me much lately), and gaming (which I really want to just quit). It did suck that I couldn’t check mail or anything, but I did that this morning and didn’t have any mail...no love for MM. Sad panda.

Oh well...I’ll go ahead and sign off. I’ll talk later (if/when I can), Sunshines.

Your Score: House Tully

45% Dominant, 72% Extroverted, 63% Trustworthy

Dutiful. Affable. Total doormats. The kindest and gentlest of the houses, you are of House Tully.

You are a submissive personality, meaning that ruling is not something that intrigues you. You posses an odd kind of wisdom in knowing that the throne has too many drawbacks; your interests are far more domestic. You are no threat to the ruling powers, but your strong loyalties to hearth and home make you too difficult to be bought--and if you can’t be bought, you’re usually destroyed.

You are also introverted. You don’t enjoy broadcasting your devices and ambitions to the entire world; instead, you prefer to confide in a close-knit support system of friends and family. You’re very talkative with those you trust, and you’re the type of person who will review plans endlessly. Trust from you must be earned, and you’re very cautious around new people. In Westeros, that’s probably a good thing.

Perhaps most notably, you are trustworthy. Once you are connected to someone, you will stick with them, come Hell or high water. Your loyalties run very deep, and you’re definitely not the type to run willy-nilly betraying friends and destroying alliances. Unfortunately, you lack both the physical strength and the cojones to stand up to those who do you wrong. To those seeking power, you’re an obstacle--but a lawn mower doesn’t fear the garden gnome. Lions, dragons, and krakens all eat fish like you for breakfast.

Representative characters include: Catelyn Stark, Edmure Tully, and Brynden "Blackfish" Tully

Good New, Bad News

2007-Aug-31, Friday 11:46 am
msmoon: (MM's Jellies!)
Well...there’s good news and bad news. But, the bad news isn’t too bad and the good news is pretty good.

The Bad News. Still haven’t gotten all of the Nexus primed and we still haven’t gotten around to calling the flooring guy.

The Good News. My Dad painted all upstairs and all of the trim ^..^ Today he wants to finish priming the rest of the house.

The Bad News. My Dad thinks he broke 2 of his toes while he was mowing the lawn. He didn’t get the chance to cut the back yard because of the rain.

The Good News. He got the whole front yard cut! That’s something!

The Bad News. Comcast is being a total ass again, and we don’t have internet at my house.

The Good News. Mom and Dad are switching to satellite...as soon as they figure out what to go with.

I think I sound like an America’s Funniest Home Videos bit, so I’m gonna stop now =..= So…it’s been weird. Although, my routine hasn’t been very disturbed really. It’s just a very good thing I have the internet at work.

So, today, Dad’s hoping to prime his little heart out, and then when I get home (after we all eat) I want to help out a bit. The Labor Day weekend will help a bit if only because we’ll be able to do more ^..^ I ended up ordering those other end tables that I wanted (please, God, don’t let this sale fall through as well), but only because Dad gave me $100. I was shocked when he did, because I didn’t think we had much money to spare, but evidently his social security check came in and he was feeling generous. Don’t I have the best Dad in the world?

So...I placed the order for 2 end tables this morning. I’m hoping it’s processed and shipped soon. I’m hoping that all the painting will be done by Labor Day. Then we’ll have all next week to worry about the flooring. I’ve decided not to put so much hope into getting so much done in one day. Dad still needs to worry about mowing the rest of the yard and all before it rains again, not to mention the time it takes for the paint to dry. But, I gotta say, until I saw that paint on the upstairs, I felt like it would never happen and now I’m actually excited. But it always goes slower than you want it to...I just have to remember not to let myself get depressed. Oh, and those shelves that Dad was supposed to put up in my room and never did? Yeah, those are gonna go in my back room, and I think I’ll probably turn that into a library/computer/guest room thing. Guess it’s almost a good thing he never got around to putting those up.

I need to get more sharpies...Meh

Well, Lunch is almost over. I’ll write (or VP) later, Sunshines.

Another Step Closer

2007-Jul-17, Tuesday 01:09 pm
msmoon: (Kermit YAY)
Well! Guess what, sunshines? Mom talked to Dad, and Dad said ok, and Mom called my Uncle Steve and my Uncle Steve will be painting the Nexus for us. I am so relieved. Though I wasn’t dreading the task, I certainly wasn’t looking forward to it either. I remember the last time we repainted, and that was all one color =..= I have chosen several different colors for the house now, and that would only make things more difficult. Mais, I’m a femme. That’s what we do ^..^

I think my dad just realized what a tremendous job it’d be for him. I mean, he’s supposed to be off for two weeks and he has to come home and paint a whole house? That just doesn’t sit well with me. And Uncle Steve’s so good at his job and all, I’m sure it’ll turn out much better. Lord knows we’ll feed him as well as pay him, so it’d probably be a good job to take.

So, all Mom and I have to do is dust off the walls (because Dad said that they’re covered in dust from him sanding away). Then we can pick out paint colors and we’ll be ready to get that job done. Once everything’s painted, we can focus on the floors. And after that’s all done, I’ll be able to fully move in. Happiness.

Ohh, and Scamp fully agreed to go see Transformers with me, and this is a good thing. I know it’ll be staying at the theater a while, and even if it leaves there before she comes down, it’ll probably go straight to the dollar theater for a while…which I tend to enjoy more than AMC if only because the theaters are bigger and less people go there...Nice.

Oh well, it’s back to work for me. I shall talk later, Sunshines. Ja!

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Gargoyles - Face me)
6-21-2007, Thursday 5:10 / 4:10c pm

Wow. What a long and tiresome trip. Though, I must say, it was quite enjoyable towards the end. After the first four hours, I got so bloody exhausted the giggles set in. I was still dreadfully tired, but Mom and I took turns driving. I drove from 10 to 12, and Mom said she couldn’t sleep and would rather drive. So, I tried to sleep and failed miserably. I ended up staying awake to talk to Mom and keep her awake. I ended up driving again from 3:30 to 6 ...or 7...considering that we did loose an hour when we crossed the time zone.

We picked up Jen (my Twin-san) and headed to McDonalds for breakfast. Then we made her drive the rest of the way. My God...such an excruciating task. Driving 4 hours, insanely giddy from not sleeping at all in the past 24 hours, getting more and more car sick but the miles just keep stretching on. We finally got here around 11:30 and while our room was empty, it wasn’t clean. So we waited 45 minutes till it was ready. Gotta say...this hotel has been a tad on the weird side. Forget the fact that there’s some major construction going on in the lobby, but when Mom went to check in and get the key, she mentioned to the front desk man that we had Jacuzzi and he offered to “help us test it out”...um…*fake laugh* no.

When we finally got to our room, which is on the 3rd floor, and hanging right over the pool, we unpacked a bit. Then we headed to Wal-Mart to buy things we’d need (disposable coffee cups, paper plates, cups, food stuffs, etc).I also managed to get some post cards to send to everyone back home.

So now, we’re just relaxing...occasionally watching Retrace & snacking. That’ll be all for tonight...I hope.

6-23-2007, Saturday 11:43 pm

Wow. You know, we haven’t been half as busy as we could’ve been, and yet I still haven’t written much of anything. First off I have to say…this hotel is just weird. Not only are their cracks in the balcony above us (causing rain to trickle down onto our balcony from those cracks, but Jen says she only walks around barefoot in the hotel room and her feet are black. And that’s not even mentioning what happened late Thursday night. We were getting ready for bed, and Mom had decided to let us have the king size bed and she’d take the sofa sleeper. Well first off, we couldn’t get the sleeper out of the sofa =..= So, we call for help down to the front desk and a nice chinese man comes up, takes a look around and says “I know this room. Hole in couch.” There is a hole in the back of our couch, and a tiny pointy metal thing sticks out of it! He asked for a towel, and put the towel over the whole and told us not to movie it….O..O Que? Later we found out that the toaster and blow dryer didn’t work either. Then my cousin Faren comes over, and he’s a builder, and he says this place looks like it’s about to fall apart...great. Oh well. On to the good (no great!) parts of the convention.

Friday was easy-going. I think I woke up around 8, but I didn’t actually get up till 9. Our first panel was at 11, so we didn’t need to hurry. We went to FanFic 101 with Kathy Pagge. There might’ve been 12 people there. It was a great panel and I recorded it with Zeis, learning to use my fanny pack as a base for the camera.

There are 30 minute breaks between the panels. So we went to the room for food. Then we attended a “Grimorum Making” panel. It was actually some artists/art students showing us how to make books. They’re usually used as sketch books, but you can use them as “convention books” or anything else. It was a lot of fun because everyone’s so relaxed and fun.

There was a long break between then and the “Opening Ceremonies” which was fun, if slightly excruciating. They usually have a projection screen, but this time they only had a big screen TV…of course that meant if you were sitting anywhere behind the 3rd row, you were unable to see said TV. So we all stacked our chairs on the sides of the room and sat on the floor. Jen and I kept having our legs fall asleep, even though we were on the front row. They showed us the original preview for Gargoyles given to the press when Disney decided to go ahead with the show, and they had the volume up really really loud to mimic the effect it had on the reporters. There was a lot of crashing and roaring, and when the lights came on and Greg Wiseman started out with “So...” I said “What?!”. My ears were still ringing slightly @..@ But he went on to tell us that all of the reporters had kids and Disney was releasing this ‘kids show’ that looked and sounded very scary. So the obvious question was, ‘What type of kid show is this.’ …the obvious reply was ‘It’s better than Barney ^..^ Very cool.

We were also shown the preview for Bad Guys and an Atlantis/Gargoyles crossover...and we were assured that the comic book would be a continuation of the Gargoyles series, with Pendragon, Timedancer and Bad Guys to follow. That will be something to look forward to. I’ve already bought the 4 issues of the Gargoyles comic that are out, so I can’t want to see everything else. There was so much discussed at the Opening Ceremonies, but I only taped the first part of it, because I knew a lot of it was ‘off limits’. Jen got up and just left because her legs were killing her. I followed not too long after because they didn’t last too much longer.

Now today was much the same...till evening. We attending “From Fan to Pro with Karine Charlebois. That was interesting but really better for artists. After that was “World Building” with Daroneasa, which was very fun. We all talked with her about building the worlds in our story from the ground up; everything from society to religion to families. It was great. But it only lasted till 3, so we headed back to our room. Mom and my cousins (who’d come down from their place to go sight seeing with Mom) wanted to go to the Aquarium, but they decided to wait till later because it doesn’t close till 11.

So, Jen called her boyfriend and told him about what we’d been up to. She eventually got around to telling him that I’d purchased some swords from a place called China Bazaar, and he told her that was what he wanted as a souvenir. So we headed back (and I bought a couple other things). Then we got back and went to the Aquarium. Well, we went to Gatlinburg and ate first. Then we went to the Aquarium. Twas fun, but my legs and feet were killing me. I bought Jen and me some sea turtle souvenirs.

We went back through Gatlinburg, and she got us these things from Kilwin’s...they’re rice crispie treats on a stick, dunked first in caramel then in chocolate and laced with darker chocolate. ...her Mom calls them sex-on-a-stick. We also stopped at a little shop called Lavis Jewelry that had these really cool fairies. I bought a mage-looking fairy with a crescent moon staff, and Jen bought a hanging fairy holding a hatching dragon, it’s just like the one I got for Reiko last Christmas. She said that she has a lot of dragon figures, and it wouldn’t make sense to just buy a fairy. There were some lovely dragons that both of us loved, but the smallest was $50 and the price kept going up from there O..O

6-24-2007, Sunday

Wow. What a busy day. Evidently the Radio play was pretty awesome last night (or maybe it was the blue mug..yeah, definitely the blue mug ^..^). Our first pane of Costume Tip Trading with Jennifer Anderson …turned into Costume Tip Trading with Lynati. I don’t know where the head of the panel was, but she couldn’t make it so Lynati (who’s a veteran of Gargoyles everything) took over and answered questions and included everyone. It was great…but I’m not into the costume thing. I thought Jen would enjoy it though, since she likes to cosplay a lot.

Next we went to Gargoyles Physiology & Culture, and that was headed by Greg Weisman, Lynati and Jade Griffin. That was only getting good towards the end, and then we had to leave because we were dying of hunger. But I did manage to tape all of what we did see. So that was good. I’m not so crazy about evolution, so the whole first part about their actual biology and how they may’ve evolved wasn’t thrilling. But to see Greg Weisman light up while discussing Gargoyles culture was great. It’s funny too, because he’s not an expert in biology and such so he’d ask Lynati and Jade Griffin questions like “Would that be possible?” or “This is how I see it, tell me if I’m right in my layman’s terms.” It was really great.

We had wanted to go to the Bad Guys panel that was going to be a showcase for the upcoming Bad Guys comic, but we ended up being late, and then decided we’d rather not disturb them and walk in right in the middle. That was a bit of a bummer, but hey, we had to get food @..@

The Banquet was fun. We had one of the girls who joined the “Order of the Phoenix Gate” sitting at our table. Turns out, Thom Adcox had decided to get a tattoo after one of his panels. Well the people in the panel were like “What’re you doing now Thom?” and he said “I’m going to get a tattoo.” So they all went and got the same tattoo of the phoenix gate. The girls got it on the small of their backs and the guys got it on their bicep except for Thom who got it on his ankle. It was pretty sweet. I have to say, that’d be one awesome tattoo to get, and I don’t even like tattoos that much. *shrugs*. After seeing that, Jen was itching to go out and get a tattoo. I think she must’ve thought about it the whole time we were at the table ^..^ I don’t even know the names of the people at my table, but they were all cool. There was one girl that actually had a tattoo of wings coming out from her shoulder blades. That was uber leet as well. The only thing that was annoying was that there was one girl (whom I shall not name) who kept barraging the guests with questions, mostly about Puck and all running together. At one point I leaned over and said “Maybe one of us should ask what Puck’s favorite color is before she gets the chance to ask another 3 questions.” It was annoying, but funny at the same time.

We headed to the room again for the break between things, and a storm cropped up. It wasn’t mush, just a bit of rain with high winds and thunder and lightning. Of course, this hotel is so shoddy that the door started shaking. Jen was on the phone with her boyfriend, and she was laying on one side of our king size bed while I was on the other side writing post cards. The wind kicked up, and suddenly she’s launched herself into my lap O..O Twas amusing. Then she says to her boyfriend that “It’s like a hurricane outside!” and I’m like “Turst me, hon. This is not hurricane worthy ^..^” That made it even funnier.

The Masquerade was fun, but shorter than I thought it’d be. We did get there early, just to make sure we’d have good seats. Of course, Jen’s camera died 3 seconds into the whole thing =..= Oh, and of course, we were sitting in front of a lot of uber leet people, and I was too paralyzed to introduce myself. I just figured I’d be bothering them. I mean, they came to have fun at the gathering, not be pestered by some fangirl . So, I held my tongue and place and just watched the Masquerade. I tell you what, they had a lot of really nice dresses on the contestants (that I’d never have the courage to wear), but the Gargoyle that won for best in show was just awesomeness on a stick. And they had a lady that was a “Belly Dancing Fae” and let me tell you, she could really belly dance well for a lady her age. I hope I have that much control over my body in 20 years =..= She was awesomeness. It really made me want to get those belly-dancing pants that I’d see in the dealers room too. But alas, my Jen had inquired about them and the lady had only brought one. Anyway, after the awards were given out, we left. We’re not good dancers (or minglers evidently >..<).

Oh yeah, speaking of the Dealers room, we had so much fun there (and I spent a lot of money there). I bought 2 chain-mail bracelets from Vox, a ‘sea horse’ painting from kth-dragon, and a fairy painting for Jen. It’s really great to buy from artists directly, because they’re always so happy that you’re buying from them. We spend a lot of time there just talking and hanging out. There was a beautiful replica of the Phoenix gate that was a necklace, and I really wanted it, but it was up for auction, and we weren’t staying that long, and I didn’t have the money for it anyway. The artist alley was pretty cool too. I recognized a lot of stuff from artists I've admired for such a long time. It's a little sad that this is our last day too. On one hand I really wish I could stay, but I know it's not at all practical. Ah well. Such is life I suppose.

6-25-2007, Monday

Probably the most miserable day, but only because I get so car sick and we were traveling all damn day. We decided to leave that morning, if only because we had spent so much money and we just really needed to get home. So, we left around 10 that morning, after loading the car down with all our crap + all the crap we bought ^..^ We headed to Gatlinburg as a favor for a friend. Lori had given me money to buy her some wine. It’s her favorite and it’s only sold in that area. So we go and find it…and they don’t have it. It wouldn’t be ready for two more weeks. Le sigh. It would’ve been a total loss except that we saw a pet store right next door, and the owner had her pets in the store with her. I love those types of shops. I got myself a Doxxie shirt, and I think Jen got herself a English Bulldog shirt, pen and bookmark...she and I are such dorks. We’re not even dog owners yet! But anyway.

We drove for hours till we finally got to Atlanta. Jen drove the whole way (thank God). And we ended up leaving Atlanta right in the middle of rush hour traffic. We were not happy campers. It took us about an hour to 45 minutes to get out of Atlanta. Just down-town Atlanta, not the whole city, mind you. I think we left around 3:30 or 4ish, and Mom drove for a while, but she wasn’t feeling great. I was borderline panic-attacking, so I just laid back and tried to relax. We pulled off around 5 to go to the bathroom and get some nachos and cheese (gotta have the basics), and I took over driving. I drove from 5 to 11 that night, and we were about 60 miles away from New Orleans when we pulled over to get gas. Mom took over after that, and I just stayed up to keep her company and talk. We got home around 12:30ish a.m. I think I showered, and then went to sleep. We woke up…I think at 12 p.m. We were unpacked and happy…even if the day was very short. I guess it made up for the day before that was so damn loooong.

That has been my gathering experience. I enjoyed it if only because I got to spend a lot of time with Jen. Spending tons of money on cool swag was fun too ^..~

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (XME - Rain)
Even a long weekend isn’t long enough. Man, I can’t wait till the two weeks I’m off at the end of June =.= But that’ll pass quickly too and then I’ll be back in the grind. Geeze, would you listen to me, little Miss Sunshine. MM’s all “glass half full” today. Of course the glass’s half full! It’s been raining all day. But I love the rain...I just like it better when I’m home so’s I can enjoy it.

Ok, enough of that. The weekend was nice...Any day I don’t have to wake up at 5:45 is a good day. Saturday, Scampers went home. Her parents and older brother Josh came over. Josh played some WoW. We talked a lot. Ate. Uncle Steve went over and looked at the Nexus and gave Mom a page full of stuff that we need to remember. He said if the house is empty as it is now, he can paint the whole thing in one day. That’s very promising. We had wanted to go with paneling upstairs because the paint keeps peeling, but he says that it’d be cheaper and easier to just spray on that stuff that we have on our ceilings now (popcorn ceiling). He says he can smooth it all out and it’ll be all professional. I wonder if we can paint it...I hope so.

After they all hightailed it, Mom and I decided we should go shopping. I had seen some nice tank tops in the JC Penny’s catalog that I wanted to see about getting. We were disappointed to find them in the juniors section. But we reasoned that if we got an XL, it’d fit. Well, it didn’t =.= So, we’re gonna end up returning 4 tops if we can. We did find some uber cool PJs for me. That was nice. We then went to Target and I bought a bunch of crap (and Mom did too!). I got Firefly, Pan’s Labyrinth, Second Hand Lions, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. I now have a desire to buy as many Mel Brooks movies as I can lay my hands on ^.^ And Second Hand Lions is still one of the best movies. I’m still not sure if I liked Pan’s Labyrinth….it was beautifully made, and the Spanish language really embellishes it…but, I’m not sure if the ending was really a good one, or if the end justifies the means. It’s just…disappointing. Firefly is still coolness on a stick. I can’t see why anyone would’ve canceled that.

Speaking of disappointments, saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End with Mom and Scampers Friday night. /sigh …thanks a lot Disney. Sorry, but I didn’t enjoy the ending. It was all good…until the end. Hate what they did with the Turners. And another thing… um, Disney? Why does everyone of importance on the boat have to scream “FIRE!!” before the cannons can fire? I’m just curious.…I mean, is there a contract somewhere? Or is that just your way of expressing chain of command or something? I Loved Jack. That never will change. Gotta love Jack. Scampers tells me that they’re thinking about making two more movies about just him, and they’ll be like a prequel and a sequel. That’d be much coolness.

I worked a bit on my web site Monday as shocking as that sounds. I’ve been tweaking things quietly for a while now, but just recently I took down the hidden “Original” section that was all about my story and world, and I started working on my Warcraft section. It’s made me want to redesign my City of Heroes section too. I only just noticed that all of the characters that I have up there, are characters from my first run with CoH…So, I might-should update at least the characters that I actually had the last time I played =.=

Mom and I were talking the other day, mostly about our future plans and all. She said that eventually, she and Dad want to travel a bit before he retires (while they can still afford it). There’s a lot of the country that they still haven’t seen, and Mom’s always wanted to sorta tour the US. She was saying that Dad asked her not to get a dog while they’re traveling around (which is totally weird, because Mom’s the last person to have a dog when she’s home in every-day life much less when she’s traveling all over). And she said that while they didn’t want to get a dog, it might be a good idea for me to get one, at least as a guard dog and companion while they’re away. I am on the back half of the two acres and all. Mom and I searched for Large Breed Dogs, and we found a web site that has information about Giant breeds and Lage breeds and even some medium breeds. It has their temperament and such on there along with how they look and what they were bred for.

I think I’ve finally decided….on a Great Dane. I want to get a great dane puppy ^.^ So, that means I’ll be tracking down my cousin Angel to pick her brain about the breed, what type of nutrition and training they’d need and all that. I figure, I’ve got at least an acre to myself and I know my parents don’t mind sharing it with me, so I’ve got plenty of room to exercise her. I think Angel works at Pet Smart with obedience classes and such, so I could start with that while she’s a pup and then keep up the training at home. Plus the temperament is perfect for what I want…and it’d be real nice to have a dog to come home to. The only thing I really want to check out is if the pen that Uncle Charles gave me is big enough for the dog when she’s full size. I’m thinking that I can leave the dog there when I go out to work, and then come home and exercise with the dog by walking or playing or whatever. Then it’ll be time to fix supper and eat. I’m also thinking that if I fix the dog’s food before mine, she’ll be so busy eating, she might not pay me any mind while I fix my food. So…I need to know about space, food, training, and any other needs the dog may have...Should be a piece of cake ^.^

Oh, and guess what? Chibi's home! Yeah, my 'Mouto-san's finally come back. We've talked about getting together sometime this Saturday. I'll have to call Reiko and see if/when she can make it. So, I'm wondering. I had these gifts that I had wanted to give them for Christmas last year, but I forgot that they were there (there was so many other things to remember!). So I'm wondering if I should just give them that now or wait till Christmas again....

I was just thinking how interesting it’d look if I got all set up and I got my dog and all, and then if Scamp came to visit (which I’m sure she will) with her dogs….that’d be a funny picture.

I guess that’s all for now...I can’t think of anything else to write. Pay day comes at the end of this week…so I’ll be broke again soon ^.^ Later, sunshines.
