Job Fair's UnFair >..>

2009-Feb-21, Saturday 11:50 am
msmoon: (SM - Baka)

I went, I saw, I applied. Job fairs are not places to invest all your hopes though =..= Most of the booths were handing out pamphlets that directed you to their web site. None of the booths accepted Resumes (which is a bit disappointing, as I printed 20 copies of my resume -..-), and I filled out only 2 applications. But, I did get a lot of pamphlets, like I said. Some of which, appear to not be my field or even a place I could apply (nurses positions and such), but that won’t stop me from trying :) Even those places need office peoples.

Of the two places I officially applied to, I am obviously more enthusiastic about one than the other. I applied to Big Cedar Lodge, which, I don’t even know if they have one of those around here, but I do know that they are like a Bass Pro shop, and there’s one of those in Branson (at the Branson Landing too). They have offices, so I would definitely be eager to work in that division if I could. The drive to Branson would be...well, at this point, not that big a deal.

The second place I applied to would be awesome if it worked out. It’s a radio station for Arkansas stationed out of Branson as well. It would be starting small of course. But who knows! Getting experience there, networking a bit....that would be an awesome gig....could you imagine me on the radio? Lord knows I have the perfect face for it =..= Besides that it would just be fun. I can easily go on and on about any topic, and I’d like to think I can speak openly with just about anyone...who knows right? What a job to have.

I did stop at a both for the local community collage here (fondly referred to as NAK). They weren’t hiring of course, merely offering info for potential students. But the lady I spoke with was very helpful, and she said they do have a program for getting a degree in graphic design....which I’d love to do. Photography or Journalism could be something too, if they have sufficient courses for that, but graphic design would just be awesome :) Of course, I did mention to her my previous experience and schooling and she said to apply for an office position at the main campus in town, because they never know when they may need someone and it’s just good to have your paperwork all there.

The only other thing was a local coffee house called Uncommon Grounds....they weren’t hiring, just selling ‘breakfast’ (if you can call pastries and coffee breakfast), but the place really is the only coffee shop in town. And, free wi-fi :)

So that was my morning. I got there around...9:15/9:20ish and I was about by 10:30. Oddly enough...ok, this is totally off subject and all. But, Mom has these boots right? They’re nice boots that she got from Wal-Mart that only go up to her ankle and they lace up. Nice, sturdy boots. Well, she wasn’t wearing them a lot, and when the ice storm rolled in I had no shoes sufficient to walk in. So, she lent me her boots. They were too tight and hurt my feet, but it got the job done. So, today, it’s cold out and I needed boots. Not high-heel one (like I have packed away somewhere) just nice, sturdy boots. Well, Mom offered to lend me hers since she’s pretty sure I stretched them out during the ice storm =..= Well, I walked in them the whole time...and they didn’t hurt o..o I was a little shocked. But I got back home and sat down after taking them off, and then I got up again....and my left leg was hurting. Like in my thigh muscle...I don’t really know if it’s related to the boots or anything but >..> It’s just odd.

So...Mom went to Mrs. Karen’s to learn how to make bread. She had me drop her off before the job fair. She said she’d get a ride home with Aunt Carolyn or something. I kinda have the house to myself. Speaking of ‘house to myself’, next time Dad comes in (the 5th perhaps) Mom and Dad are getting ready to head out to New Orleans for another one of Dad’s training things. They’ll be gone all week from the 8th to the 13th/14th of March. I told Alicia about it and invited her over. She’s always eager to get out of her parent’s house, and we get along well. Besides, I don’t have any friends in the immediate area other than her. At least none I’d feel like I was imposing on. I mean, seriously. Chibi’s my old previous friend who lives marginally close, and she couldn’t come on a weekday to visit me. She lives 3 hours away -..- Admittedly, I could spend the whole week alone and be just fine...still, it’s usually more fun when someone else is here.

/looks about. Well...I guess I’ll sign off for now. Maybe I can watch a movie or something before Mom gets in :) Later, Sunshines.

Jim & Reiko's Wedding

2008-Dec-27, Saturday 08:29 pm
msmoon: (MM - Genki!!)

What a couple of nights. Reiko is officially married, and the whole thing went off without a hitch. The rehearsal was maddeningly long, if only because after the first clueless dry run the bride’s maids broke everything down and rewrote the hole thing. Seriously, we kept just thinking of ways to make it more streamline and just put little hints of tradition. So, we rehearsed one, figured out all the problems , redid everything (which took for ever), then there was the dinner for everyone who attended the rehearsal.

One thing that was really cool was, Chibi came to hang out with me around 2...well, the rehearsal was at 3:45. Reiko told her that she was invited to the rehearsal and the dinner afterwards, but Chibi had said that she had made dinner plans with her Dad. She said that she would hang out till around 5ish, and then leave to eat with her dad. Chibi hung out with me while we waited for everyone to arrive, and she hung out while we practised, which must’ve been boring. I looked up at like 4:45 and she was still there, and I was like, “Uh, Chibi, don’t you need to leave?” and she was like, “No. Dad called me and said he has to stay at work, so I’m gonna just stay here.” So, it was so fun. After the whole process of, you know, rehearsing. We went and hung out and ate and made fun of each other and had fun! It was great. The most fun wedding rehearsal I’ve been to...actually, now that I’m thinking about it, I’m wondering if it’s the only one I’ve been too...O..O

We came back here, and Jim and Reiko opened their Christmas presents, which was fun. Then Reiko asked Chibi and I if we’d go back to her house and help her pack up some stuff. I was exhausted, but so was Reiko, so I couldn’t really say no. We went there and came back, and tried to help Reiko’s mom with decorating the reception hall and all.....but I really was exhausted at that point. So I got upstairs and took my shower. It occurred to me that I wouldn’t be as alert the next morning as I might have hoped. So I sprayed some of that stuff that helps your hair to keep heating products from damaging it, and then I let it dry natural for a bit and then blow dried the rest of the way. Then I just straightened it as much as I could. By the time I passed out it was nearing 1 in the morning.

I woke up this morning around 7:15...I was kinda surprised, and seriously dragging, but I made myself get up and straighten my hair. I got dressed and went downstairs. I’m walking to my car and I hear someone call my name and it’s Jim and his family. They want to know where we could go and eat breakfast. We ended up at Wafflehouse and even if the it a skeezie place, they did make an excellent sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. I have to give them that. We had fun talking and enjoying our food and coffee. Jim’s Uncle told him, “It’s not too late, Jimmy...we could take you back to Kentwood.” and I turned to Jim with big pleading eyes and said, “It’s a better life for you there, Jim! It’s a better life for you in Kentwood!” he cracked up and said, “I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment. Then..I’m not sure why, but we went to the Harley Davidson shop that was right next door. I was like, “So, Jim....you more of an ‘Easy-Rider’ man or a ‘Crotch Rocket’?” He grins and retorts with, “Nah, Reiko’s more of the Crotch Rocket. I’m easy rider all the way.” I laughed myself silly at that. We looked around a bit and then just headed back to the hotel.

I made sure my hair was read and put on all my make up. Then I went to the church. Since I was the only one who had their hair and make up right, I went ahead and put on my dress first. It was a fight to get it on, and really I didn’t like it very much. It was too broad up top, and the sleeves weren’t as nice as I thought they’d be, and it wasn’t low in back but it was low enough that I couldn’t wear my bra =..= But I dealt with it and just sucked it up. Tabby (one of the other bride’s maids) had brought that skin to fabric tape, and I needed the side of the dress to be taken in slightly under the arm, so we did that. Then Tabby put on her dress....

Oh...sweet....God....Tabby is small, right? Like, make you sick small. She had told the dress shop that she’d probably be fine in a size 6, but they insisted she get an 8 and then allow them to take it in. Well, she went along with it, but she didn’t realise they were going to charge her over $80 in alterations. Then...she put the dress on....and it hovered over her chest so far, if she so much as moved she’d end up flashing us. She was so upset, and rightly so! So, we took it in ourselves - first with safety pins and then with actually sewing it. Then she just used the tape, and there was a shall/wrap that came with the dress, so she used that to make sure it didn’t seem weird.

Hollis, on the other hand (the only remaining bride’s maid) looked awesome, and needed almost no alteration to her dress. I mean, we all needed help situating ourselves and zipping up and adjusting our trains and sashes, but over all, I think we just pulled together and helped each other out and that’s what made it all great.

While we were getting ready, Reiko was taking her pre-wedding Bridal pictures. Then, once we were all as ready as we were going to be, we all took pictures together. The photographer girl was smart enough to set the camera up to take like 5 pictures one after the other, so if any of us blinked or our faces just didn’t look right, it would continue to take pictures. We tried various poses - some silly (shocking I know!) and some formal. By the time she was done with us and ready for the boys, she came over to us and said “Wow...so that’s 630 pictures taken, and the wedding hasn’t even started yet.” We laughed at that.

We waited in the rooms adjacent to the baptismal while the boys filed in through the side doors, and then when the pastor assured us they were all inside and wouldn’t see Reiko, we all left out the bak way to the next door area to wait till the ceramony started. When it was finally time for us to go, we gathered in the foyer. Mr. Ernie, Reiko’s dad, came over and thanked me for coming down and going through all this. As we were talking, I mentioned to him that, when the pastor asked “Who gives this woman to be married?” he kept saying, “I do.” and it was a little odd to me. He asked why and I told him that it should be “Her mother and I do.” because Mrs. Marry Jane has been orchestrating all this and she’s giving Reiko away as much as (if not more than) he was. So he nodded and said it did sound better.

The Wedding itself....was a very big slice of awesome. Everything pretty much went off without a hitch. And I find that the bride’s maids really did work as a unit. I mean, in the foyer, while we were waiting, I check both the girls’ trains and make sure their dresses are situated. And then whenever I’d have to move (to adjust Reiko’s train and help her, or to give the rings or sign as a witness), Hollis would lean in and tell me if I needed to move a smidgen, or she’d adjust my train. So, we really watched out for each other and helped each other out. I really think that’s why the wedding went off without a hitch.

I had Jim’s ring...and it’s a simple silver band with a celtic weave inlay into it.....and I have no pockets. So I kind had to slip it only my thumb and hide it under my other hand as I clutched my bouquet. Though, really, aside from handing over the rings and signing as a witness (my name’s the first signature on that paper!) my job was really to see that her train was fluffed and out behind her....then return to my spot. That was it. I must say that I did tear up just a tiny bit when they were reading their vows to one another and when her Dad walked her down the isle. But I kinda just made myself get over it and focus on what I was doing.

After Reiko and Jim went down the isle, I joined with my groom’s man and when we got to them in the foyer, we all high fived each other! It was hilarious! We were all high fiving, like total dorks. Then they received a few congradulations and made their get away. We lingered for a little while, mainly talking amongst ourselves. Then...we gathered up everything (along with a few of Reiko’s things) and headed back to the hotel for the reception.

Chibi and I were the informal DJs...as well as the Video-ographers....Chibi had to record everything while the ceremony was going on (I couldn't do it being a bride’s made), but during the reception, we shared the ownership of both titles. We worked the music and the camera. When I had to take pictures, Chibi had the camera. After all the pictures were taken, it was time for the bride and groom to have their first dance. Chibi was supposed to announce it, but she didn’t really want to (nor did she have the voice for it really), so she asked me to do it. So I told her to record me and I’d do it.

Admitedly...I have s et of pipes on me...a strong voice really, one that cuts through noise and above chatter. I boomed out, “Can I have your attention, please!” then once the hush had fallen, I followed with, “It’s now time for the first dance...will the lovely bride and her dashing groom please report to the dance floor!” ....and promptly came to near tears again at the sight of them slow dancing. It was very nice and very sweet. There were a couple of moments like that...like the last real dance which was between Reiko and her dad and Jim and his mom. Moments that just hits you, you know? And it made all the joking fade away, and the gravity of the event settled with a profound clarity. I was happy...and I wanted to cry.

Then, we ate cake! Oooh, and it was some good cake! Reiko remarked that the frosting was amazing, and I have to agree, but the cake in general was just good. Then she reminded me of the price, and Ladies and Gentlemen, I can now say that I’ve tasted a $300 cake and it was good....not as good as my sushi, but definitely good.

There were a few more silly dances. We caught some great stuff of the reception on the DVD....we were some of the great stuff on the DVD XD. But...the time ran out. About 45 minutes afterwards, I really couldn’t take the pain in my feet any longer. There were maybe a dozen people in there, and I knew that I had blisters and aching feet now with a down bed and wonderful shower upstairs. So I quit decided to quit the party. I gave Reiko a hug and a kiss and told her goodnight and the same with her mother and father. I looked at Jim and said, “Permission to hug?” He looked away, let out a sigh and nodded reluctantly, giving me a one-arm embrace. I’ll take what I can get.

I limped upstairs and showered...by then, my feet were so bad and I was in so much pain, I made sure to do very little walking. Mom took pity on me and rubbed lotion on my feet and massaged them carefully for quite some time. Tomorrow is church, but afterwards I intend to go to the movies with Chibi...she won’t be in town much longer, and I would love to spend more time with her. Then Monday, I’ll be driving to Abbeville to pick up Scamp and Brian for a day together with sushi and just hanging out.

...today was the most wonderful day...

Serious Progress

2007-Sep-22, Saturday 10:48 pm
msmoon: (Kermit YAY)
The Nexus is finished!!!!

*pant pant pant* Ok, finished as in the floor is done. We’ve been moving a few things in little by little, but I’m far from moved in. Dad said the toilet isn’t done, the trim isn’t done, it’s not at all clean, and no major things have been moved in (bed, clothes, fandoms, etc). I’m just excited to finally see it done. I actually woke up pretty early for a Saturday. It was around 8:30, and I was very hungry, so I went outside and asked Dad if he wanted some eggs. He’s infamous for having 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter anywhere between 4 and 6 in the morning and then working till 10 and starving. He said he’d love some, so I fixed coffee, bacon, four eggs (two for each of us) and some toast (to sopp up the eggs). We had breakfast and then got ready to leave for town.

We priced toilets and doors, and then realized that Dad hadn’t taken measurements for the wall or toilet seat, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to buy a toilet without precise measurements. We looked at doors, but I knew we weren’t getting anything. Everything’s so expensive, so we’re just going to saw off part of the bottom of the door and re-attach the bottom with some sort of sealer. Dad seems to know what he’s doing, so I’ll just let him figure it out.

We came home, and I was excited because season 2 of Bones finally came in. After eating we started putting the shelf liner in, and then loading up the shelves with my glasses, cups, mugs and plates. Mom and Dad had to go back to town (for the toilet and some other things). I stayed and put up my fans, and my chairs (those that I could carry that is), and some of the other little things that would go in the kitchen and bathroom, along with the gifts that I’ve got wrapped for Christmas and birthdays. I tried to assemble my DVD cabinet...but evidently I can’t wrap my head around the directions =..= Mom and Dad came back with a new toilet and Mom helped me put liner in the rest of the cabinets. We also cleaned up a bit more, or tried to. We keep tracking stuff in as we come in and out, so it’s hard to keep the place clean. Mom and Dad had to leave again, so I tried to load in as many stuff full of boxes as I could, but there were some things that were just too heavy.

I unloaded as much as I could till it started getting dark. Then, I came home and showered. I’ve been watching Supernatural ever since. Though, I did manage to come up with a list of products that I regularly buy for future use. Dad has said he’ll try to get my bed and other heavy items in on Monday, so I’ll probably be moved in by then if nothing goes wrong /crosses fingers.

Now I’m going to have my mid-night snack and then o to bed. I’ve been trying to finish up this entry for the past 2 hours, so..I’m gonna go ahead and close this out and hit the hey. Later, sunshines.

Trying to be Girly today

2007-Aug-25, Saturday 11:03 pm
msmoon: (Trying to give a damn...)
I think, from now on, I should probably either post about my day, or about what’s going on in my brain...but not both. Because then I get giant post that’s all over the place. This one is gonna be about my day, because I actually did stuff...and because emotions are so all over the place right now that I really just don’t want to get into my emotions and explaining them.

So, my day. I woke up late, because I always do on a Saturday. But, when I was so awake that I couldn’t go back to sleep, I got up. Then I fixed a big breakfast for myself. I made two eggs over easy, two pieces of toast with butter and apple jelly, and some strops of bacon along with coffee. I ate breakfast slowly, debating over what I should do since, I didn’t really have anything set for the day. I called my Mom on the cell to see what was up with my Dad, since she’d left Thursday afternoon for Lafayette hoping to pick him up sometime Friday. She hadn’t slept well, because she expected him to call at any time. She said if I was bored, I could go to town and look around at stuff.

So, I decided that was probably the best idea, since it would kill quite a bit of time. And I needed to get gas in my car (I always run it to about a quarter of a quarter of a tank ^..~). I made a list of all the things that I get constantly, then I decided to add groceries to the list like dish washing detergent and 409 and such, then I thought I should add food to it too (so you can see it became a huge list). And I had this idea that I’d go to town and price stuff and see how much my grocery bills might be. Then I had this great idea to go to Pet Smart (where Reiko works) and price pet stuff!..The list is still here on the desk because I gave up after Pet Smart =..=’

So, forgetting the whole list, I headed out of PetSmart and over to Target. I looked at different furniture just because that’s something I enjoy. I also looked at their selection of glasses, because I had seen some that I really liked on Amazon, but I wanted to look around and make sure if there wasn’t anything else I liked better that would be cheaper. I didn’t find anything I liked, and I knew that I needed to at least get one new pair of shoes, so I looked at their shoes. Didn’t find anything that I liked, even though I took 30 minutes looking to make sure. I really don’t like shopping around with tons of people there though...I should shop on weekdays...but I consoled myself by browsing the movies. I got The Count of Monte Cristo and The Holiday and for just $10 too. That was great. I also go the first and second season of The Girls Next Door...one of my few guilty pleasures.

I then went to Wal-Mart and spent another 45 minutes looking at shoes...with no luck. By now, the only good thing was score more DVDs and I had sore feet and I was really tired of town. So, I trekked it over to Sam’s where I got some gas and then headed home. I was really getting hungry by now too, so it was just time to go home. Although, I was a little upset that I didn’t just get all the Star Wars movies…but I knew I’d go over my budget if I did. So. Sad panda. But…eventually.

Anyway, I started watching the first season of the Girls and started in on the second when Mom and Dad finally got home! So, I took a break to eat with them and give Dad a hug and all and we watched the DVD that Aunt Batty gave us with the pictures from their Colorado trip. But we didn’t watch much because Dad was so tired and all. And now it’s bed time...wich is just after shower time ^..^ I so cannot wait till the next season of Red Vs. Blue comes out.

Well, I guess that’s all for today. I tried to be a normal girl today and shop for shoes (that rawk) but I couldn’t pull it off…I think I’ll enjoy the DVDs more ^..^ Goodnight, Sunshines.

You don't tend to get yourself worked up easily. You can roll with what life throws at you.

In relationships, you are steady and solid. You maintain a pretty broad perspective on what's going on.

Productive Packing

2007-Jul-28, Saturday 05:23 pm
msmoon: (Firefly - OMG Noway)
In the course of an hour, I have utterly destroyed my mother’s living room...and by “destroyed” I don’t mean that the house is now leveled and I am utterly homeless. No, by “destroyed” I mean “I’ve made a mess”. But even so, that mess is evidence of the impossible...

I was bored…that is my only excuse. And in my boredom, I looked at my collection of DVDs, then at the boxes in the living room….and back…and forth and decided that I had to do something to at least make some of this day worth my getting out of bed. All of my movies (save for 1 that I have loaned to Lori) are in a box. One box.….I don’t know whether to be more impressed at my packing skills…or the size of the box. Of course, I scowered the house for empty boxes…the left-overs are sitting in the living room…Mom would pitch an unholy fit.

But, I do have at least a week and a half before I really have to worry about that, and that’s plenty of time to organize everything. In the mean time, I’ve ordered some of the things that I wanted for my bathroom. I got a Lotion Pump, Tooth Brush Holder, Soap Dish, and Toilet Seat all for my bathroom. I also bought this 4-Piece Bedding Set which I can’t wait to get……….I also got Transformers: The Ultimate Guide…but..uh, that was just to make the order have free shipping and…oh, shut up. Don’t judge me. Now all I have to do is manage to leave enough money left over one week to buy the next season of Bones =..=’ I’ll figure it out.

I do hope that with so many diversions out of the way, I might actually be able to accomplish some writing. One can at least hope. Anyway, now that I’ve managed to accomplish so much, in so little time, with so few resources…(or something like that), I’m off to go and watch some of my movies before I have to tape up the box and go on sabbatical. Either way, I’ll write later, Sunshines.

Harvest Moon

OMG, owie...

2006-Nov-04, Saturday 07:36 pm
msmoon: (Are you ok?)
Wow...today was eventful. I found out several things...1) At 6:20 in the morning, I can get to Lenda’s house in 10 minutes. It usually takes me 15 minutes. 2) Lori’s a distracted driver. 3) My posture sucks, but my management skills concerning my hypoglycemia and ADD have gotten much better. & 4) All McDonalds in rinky-dink towns suck fly spit.

Went to that work seminar thingy =.=’ Of course, I started falling asleep almost instantly, and we knew she’d need a volunteer so...When she asked, I volunteered to be her PT Test-Dummy. And now I’m so freakin’ sore. My neck, mid back and lower back have been hurting too. I’m kinda wishin’ someone else woulda taken that but I figured if I volunteered it’d hurry things along more and get it over with, and I didn’t want to end up falling asleep watching someone else do it. So yeah. Great reason, but still. Soreness.

Oh, after coming home from New Orleans, Mom wanted to drag me to town again. My luck. But it wasn't a total loss. I bought incense and a long wooden incense burner. I wanted to get the fancy one that had mushrooms and such on it, but that was like $27.99 and that’s too much money for something to burn sticks on. I also bought 3 packs of 20 incense sticks. The scents that I picked are Sex on the Beach, French Vanilla, and Uplifting...I’m hoping that Sex on the Beach is just a fancy title...it does smell really good. I tried out Uplifting tonight and it smells really good. That’s what matters. I finally found a frame to put Ruby in. The only thing that sucks is that the frame I bought had to be bigger than the actual picture, because apparently no one makes decent frame in 8 x 11. But it's a nice enough frame. Not quite as grand as what I'd like to put Ruby in, but it'll have to do ^.~

I’m so tired...and sore. Already. Shouldn’t that wait till tomorrow? I mean, goodness. Let me rest already! But no! You’ve gotta start protesting already. Seriously.

Alright...I’m gonna go watch The Soup and rewatch what I missed from Supernatural.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - no good)
Wow. MM has been a very bad LJ girl. Bad MM. I’ve been meaning to post, I just never have worked up the proper enthusiasm for it. And I’ve been writing e-mails like crazy to Gillian, and on a working day, I can only focus my energy on one thing; writing her a e-mail or posting. Don’t ask for both na no da. So, updates and changes...let’s see...

Well, I’ve added on a few more Icons because I’m just nerdy that way. I also found the cutest mood icons hidden away in the recesses of AMOS. I guess I must’ve found them as a zip at one time and downloaded them with the intent of putting them on and then forgot about them. Problem is, I’ve no idea who made them in the first place. So, thank whoever you are from bringing the kawaii blobs back. I’m enjoying them very much.

I’ve been watching Lord of the Rings again. With my work schedule and all, it’s taken me a week to get to The Two Towers. Isn’t that just depressing? But then I’ve been watching all the bonus footage. And when I say all, I mean all.

In other news, I’ve been ripping all my CDs and putting all of my music on my computer. Why? Because I’m a paranoid nerd like that. Go figure. Also, my parents bought me Easy Media Creator 8 today for my birthday. Mom said she had no idea what to get me so she just wanted me to go with them and pick out what I wanted. So I did. Speaking of Birthdays, I have Gillian’s, Chibi’s and Reiko’s birthday presents. All I need to worry about now is my Twin’s. Which isn’t much of a worry since I’ve a pretty good idea what I’m gonna get her. You know, it’d be so much easier if everyone in the world had an Amazon.com wish list. Chibi always makes it extraordinarily easy for me to buy her things if only because she has a wish list with Amazon. Moving on...Oh, you know what? Gillian’s birthday is right around Thanksgiving, so if we end up getting together for Thanksgiving with our families like we’ve been hoping we would, I could actually give her her present…that’s be so cool!

Other than all that, not much is really going on. Other than me starving...which really doesn’t make sense when you consider that I’ve got a steak from Applebee’s sitting in the refrigerator...I think I hear it calling my name...So, till next time!

Ok, so today. Went to Chibi’s and knocked out a few more movies from the list. We watched the fourth season of Red vs. Blue, which was insanely funny. And we watched The Day After Tomorrow; also, insanely funny (at least, if you’re us it was). We watched the first episode of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon too...talk about funny. There was a lot of other insane stuff we watched that was hers (big surprise -_-), but I can’t remember their names...so yeah.

What was really funny was that right at the end of The Day After Tomorrow, the weather over here started getting really bad. And we’d gone through the whole movie with me saying, “They’re all gonna die.” And Chibi responding with, “Yup, they’re gonna die.” Me: “D-E-D, dead.” Chibi: “Uh huh. Dead.” And then we both look out the back window and Chibi looks at me and said, “We’re gonna die...” That was funny. And the weather was bad too, but I love bad weather. Unless it’s tornados. I don’t like tornados. Unless they’re digital...yeah, we’re all whores for digital tornadoes. /nod nod nod.

I have to remember to bring Sailor Moon – Sailor Stars the next time I go over. Though, I don’t know when that’ll be. Chibi gave me a ton of anime to watch. Then again, I think she has more anime than I do -.-

So, that was the day. I shall now go and watch said anime that Chibi loaned me. I will be giving my opinions of it as I watch it for the next few days (weeks?). Tootles.

PS: Oh yeah. I’ve got so many quiz results saved up that I’m never going to get to, that I think I’ve decided to start posting, like, 10 every Sunday or something. I hardly feel like posting on Sundays usually (because I never get anything done then -.-), so I might as well put the time to good use.

EDIT: oh yeah. I updated  MM's DataBase and added chapter 33 to the EQ Saga. Ya'll thougt I'd forgotten, didn't ya?

Beware, for I am: Sore Sore

I have new glasses! They’re really great too. My prescription didn’t change but ‘one click’ as the doctor called it. He said there’s only one click of difference on that thing they make you look though, and that’s not enough to be causing my headaches. So, he advised me to go and see my regular care doctor and tell them about it, because he doubts it’s something to do with my eyes. Of course, I don’t really have a regular care doctor. Then I got to thinking, and I’ve always wanted those transitions lenses that go from clear to dark in shade and light, so I got a new pair of glasses and got the transitions. It helped that both lenses and frames were all 50% off. Otherwise I might not have. So yeah, I have nifty new glasses that are very nice because they’re only half frames (the bottom of the lens doesn’t have a wire frame, so it’s not as heavy). And I no longer need clip-on sun glasses...I hope.

After going to the eye doctor, Mom and I headed over to Books A Million . They had sent us a thing in the mail that they were having a huge one-day sale. So we decided to go there while we waited to get my glasses. I ended up getting the D&D book Races of Eberron, which looks extremely cool. I can’t wait to read it, and what’s more, I can’t wait to take it off my Amazon.com wish list ^_____^ Oh, I also got a gift for Chibi and Reiko for Christmas...but I don’t have to elaborate on that ^_^

Speaking of the ‘Mouto-chans...Chibi should be home or coming home. I had that she was coming back yesterday on my calendar. Meanwhile, Reiko should be in Kansas now. So I suppose I’ll be heading over to My Space to send Reiko a message, and I’ll leave Chibi another comment on her journal. /sigh They never call, they never write. What’s an Ane-san to do?

So anyway...Mom and I then went to Sam’s to get some water. We’ve been out of water in the house for like, four days now. Mom said when she went to the store the other day, there was none. She’s been going stir crazy wanting a bottle of water and not having any in the house. So we got that. The traffic in town was atrocious of course, but we made it through. I suppose I should come to expect that on a Saturday...Anyway...Then we went to Sonic and from there back to the eye doctor and then it was home, James.

We ate when we got home and tried to watch some TV while doing so, but nothing was really on. Mom’s not as much of a rerun hound as I am. I can watch things that I enjoy over and over and not be overly board. Or at least not feel like I’m gonna puke. But as we couldn’t really find anything to watch, I came in my room and started cleaning up a bit. Mom’s got some real-estate lady come to appraise the house, and evidently she’ll be taking pictures as well. So, Mom’s all in panic mode about my room since it’s anything but clean. I have gotten everything up off the floor, the tables are clean and everything, I just need to find a place to put all this junk...It’s now all on my bed for now. But I thought I’d check in and see how everyone was doing. That’s pretty much everything that’s happened so far. I guess I’ll go back to cleaning now. Will post if something else should happen ^_^

Summer Cleaning

2006-Jun-03, Saturday 09:46 pm
msmoon: (Gargoyles - Ooooo)

Beware, for I am: Productive Productive

Well today was a good day. Woke up to an empty house (I love it when I have the house all to myself), then after breakfast, I started cleaning. I managed to get my closet (or at least the bottom of it) all sorted out so it doesn’t look like a dumping ground. I also cleaned up the rest of the room, though it’s not as clean as I’d like. I’ve still got tomorrow though. I’m hoping to finally get some of those bins to go under my bed. The last ones we got were too big and wouldn’t fit. I now know that anything over 9 inches high is too tall. But the ones we did get have made my closet look nice, so that’s something. I put my fabric that’d been overflowing from my old sewing kit into one and the left-over batting I have in the other. Next I’ll work on moving the books I want under my bed and getting my movie closet sorted out nicely. But for now, I’m going to go shower and then continue watching Firefly as I it’s the only other thing I’ve been doing all day. Later!

PS: I just found out the next Gathering of the Gargoyles will be held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. My Mom loves Tennessee and I love Gargoyles! This is a perfect excuse to take a trip! And since it’s in 2007, I’ll have plenty of time to save!

Beware, for I am: Drugged Allergic...

Ok, so today was fun. Mom woke me up around ten and we went to town. We didn’t find any clothes at the mall but I did get some of the Bath&Bodyworks Cherry Blossom perfume and shower gel (thanks for the head’s up on that [livejournal.com profile] chaineddove-san!). Then we went to Target and I got the other half of my Cherry Blossom artwork thingy (man, am I sensing a pattern here? Oh well. It’s not like I can help the fact that cherry blossoms rocketh). Then we went to Wal-Mart (of all places -.-) and found some nice kacky’s and a few around-the-house shirts. We also got some of those plastic storage bins. We’ve been talking forever about getting me some book shelves for those books that I have in Dad’s shed. But I only just realized that with all the new artwork in the room and how small the room is, there’s really no place for book shelves. So I decided to settle on getting a billion of those plastic bins, and putting them under my bed with all my books in them. It’ll be out of the way and I’ll have my books out of Dad’s shed ¬.¬

Then we got home and we piged out on Taco Bell / KFC. Oh! I got the soundtrack to .hack//sign in too! Such pretty music! And I got notice from Amazon that I’ll be getting the other package that I ordered as well soon. At least, it’s been shipped...that was like, late last night though...so whatever. After eating I watched Tenchi Muyo again just for the laughs. If you ever wanna laugh, that’s always a good anime to watch for it. The rest of the day was spent with me kicking myself for missing The Soup, and trying to write the next chapter of Different from Me. I’m making progress, but it’s at a “slow, deliberate thought...distraction...furious typing with massive ideas...distraction.” pace.

Mom and I finished the day with Trading Spaces. I so hate black&red oriental stuff. Just so you know. I really do. Also, I’ve sneezed more within the past two days than I have in the last six months. It’s weird. My allergies and sinuses have made an unholy alliance to torment me...and I must say…I’m not pleased.

Ok well. 6 is gonna come early...and I have a lot to do tomorrow (must clean under the bed so that I can put those bins in =.=). Goodnight.

Phew...today has been a long day. I went to bring Mom some lunch around 2ish. Dad was having tests done, and she hadn’t eaten since breakfast. The doctors thought that he either had a kidney infection or his kidney was blocked. The infection could be treated with an antibiotic, but the blockage required surgery to put a stint in. They said he might be there till Monday if things didn’t get any better. Mom called me a few minutes ago and informed me that he was feeling much better, and they’re considering letting him go home sometime tomorrow. Phew.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] green_goblin70 and [livejournal.com profile] popfiend for the encouragement. It means a lot.

My entire afternoon was basicly me throwing myself into anything possible to distract myself from the simple fact that I was home alone while Dad was feeling so terrible. I even managed to watch some Sci Fi...although I must say, Sci Fi was pretty ‘Dead’ tonight. Really. Everything was about dead people. I mean, I just didn’t know that supernatural and paranormal things were considered sci fi. I drew the line at House of the Dead. I mean, the whole Shallow Ground movie was actually kind of interesting. The whole blood thing and the vengeful spirits kinda gave me a bit of inspiration...or something like it. But honestly. The game may’ve rocked for some people, but the movie totally sucked. Face it, Sega, not all games can follow in Mortal Kombat’s footsteps. /nod nod nod

So, I finally finished off the lasagna too. I’m almost sad to see it go. That had to be one of the best lasagnas I’ve eaten. I’ll have to get another some time.

Well, I better be off to bed. Goodnight everyone.

Well today was a productive day. After waking up, Mom and I went to town with the soul purpose of buying me a few more dressy shirts. I’m not entirely sure why or how, but I always end up messing up my shirts. We went to several stores, and we didn’t really find anything that I liked or that fit me. But we did come across five shirts at Avenue and two Capri pants that are embroidered, which I like. We then got a pair of shoes for me. Black ones this time. I love my little brown ones, but they don’t go with my black slacks, which my Mom always seems to point out all the time -.- My God, I never really cared very much for fashion, and here I am trying to find one that I like so I can keep a good job. *sighs* What’s really terrible is that we all have to make ourselves look so good, or at least what the media depicts as good, just so that people will approve of us. I hate how people always judge on looks. What do looks matter to a person’s ability to do any job other than modeling and acting? None.

Ok. I’m done ranting. I promise. After that we got some lunch at Subway and I decided to try the Italian BMT for a change. I usually gravitate to either the meatball or the crab sandwiches, but I just wanted to try something new. Maybe next time, I’ll try tuna or something.

I finally got the chance to watch Kingdom of Heaven. My mom borrowed it from my cousin Tammy a few days ago. I’ve just been feeling so out of it or just plain bad lately that I haven’t been able to muster the proper enthusiasm and interest to watch it. After that I watched Fluke and Ever After; both bought at the bargain bins at Wal-Mart. Glad to take those two off my wish list. Now I’m down to only 191 items on my movie wish list. Mamma would be proud ^__^.

Now that I’ve showered, I’m gonna finish that sandwich that I got earlier (it was a foot-long), and head off to bed. Goodnight all.

Working on a Saturday...

msmoon: (just kill me)

Beware, for I am: Image hosted by Photobucket.com Tired

Wow. Today was just...wow. Dad woke me up around 10. I ate breakfast and we headed to my bank to deposit the rent money. We then went to Wally-World to get groceries. I swear, all we had was 5 things on there. But of course we found a dozen or so other things we needed. Then we realized that some of the stuff we needed we could buy in bulk at Sam’s. So after spending money at Wally-World, we headed over to Sam’s. But we only got like 3 things there. We then sent buh his money and came home.

After unloading the groceries, I sat Dad and Mom down and watched The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe with them. My God, I love that movie. I cannot wait for Prince Caspian. But that will be coming in December of 2007 if IMDb is accurate. Dad really didn’t get it so I had to explain a lot of it to him. Mom is so focused on the fact that LWW parallels the Bible that she sometimes aggravates me. The story is teh greatest on it’s own! Anyway...

After the movie, I got to work washing; dishes and clothes mainly. I then got online and checked eBay for Corel Draw. I’d be saying to Mom that I needed to get the newer version for AMOS, but it cost like $200, and now that I’m unemployed I don’t really have that type of money. I bought it today for about $45. God, but I love eBay. However, I need to make sure that I stay away from it for another month or so; otherwise, I may end up buying more stuff and without an active source of income...well, that’d get old fast.

I had started watching The Day After Tomorrow last night. You know how it is, up and can’t get to sleep. Watch something you’ve seen a million times and hope it lulls you. So I finished watching it this afternoon. It just proves what I’ve been saying all along. We are all suckers for CGI weather graphics.

Since I have a paid account, I searched for people in my area. I actually found an old friend of mine that I’d virtually lost contact with. She’s mostly on MySpace really, but it pointed me in the right direction. So, now I’ve been messaging her with MySpace and we’ve kinda renewed ties. That’s good. It makes me feel like I actually have another friend.

Well...that’s all for now. I need to go check the clothes and then I might try taking a shower. Catch ya later, babies.

Well, today certainly started out earlier than I would’ve wanted, but it was a good day. Started out going to Chibi’s. We were going to wait for Reiko to give her those birthday presents we got here. I got there around 9, and when 10:30 rolled around and Reiko was a no show, I called and found out she had spent the night at a friend’s house. So, Chibi and I watched the third episode of Firefly and then we had hot chocolate and she packed, and I left. I got home, played City of Heroes, leveled a few characters on a few server, watched the rest of Batman and that was my day. Not very thrilling was it? Oh well. There’s so much more drama when I’m at work.

6 a.m. always comes early so I’d best be off to bed. I hope Chibi and her parents have a safe drive up there and back again. Goodnight, all.
