Combines & Pasta-tutes

Wow...what a day. I have felt so bad every morning over the holidays. It started probably around Thursday morning. I’ve been waking up with a killer sore throat, but normally, I can just drink some hot coffee in the morning, bring a few cough drops with me during the day, and drink hot tea at night and be fine. But it worsened severely over the weekend =,= I think I may have a bit of a head cold, because it feels like the pressure in my head is constantly changing. Sometimes I feel like my ears need to pop or that there’s a vice around my head. It’s not painful, mind you, just awfully tight. Not to mention my sore throat has become more permanent, and I sound like a prepubescent, emo boy. I’m definitely going to be calling our ear, nose & throat doctor tomorrow to see if I can get some sort of shot and stuff to help. But enough about that. Let’s talk about the days that’ve passed so far. Let’s see...when last I left you, I was about to go to lunch with the girls and then from there I’d head over to Chibi’s. All right. Let’s start there...

ISR WorkSaver Systems Christmas Lunch. Ok, so the lunch went very well. This little restaurant is just so charming and so superb. Not to mention that the company was just delightful. Donna and I conspired together to share an appetizer; the crab ravioli in a creamy buttery sauce...exquisite. Hell, I’d go back just to order a few more of those! Of course, Donna reminded me not to over-eat because they had some great deserts here. We immediately planed on sharing a desert. For my meal I had originally wanted to order a four-cheese fettuccini that could come with your choice of chicken or shrimp and with your choice of pasta. But, I think that I always get fettuccini when I go places, so I decided to try thinking outside the box and got a chicken dish that was fried and smothered in cheese. Not a bad dish, mind you, but I’ve also decided never to ask for something else when I know I’m gonna enjoy my original selection -_- We talked so much and just enjoyed Mrs. Ellen & Dr. Bunch’s company. We gave them their gifts (Mrs. Ellen got a very lovely candle and Dr. Bunch got a current Saint’s hat and shirt which he loved). I’m not sure what all the other girls got, but I got a $100 bonus as well from them. They really did not have to do that what with the lovely lunch and all, but it was an unexpected treat. Mrs. Ellen also gave us some great tips for how to ‘inconvenience’ a man without getting charges pressed against you. Donna and I ended up sharing a mudbath for desert ^.^

Sloths’ Con Christmas. We ended up getting out of our lunch a little late, and what with traffic being a nightmare, we didn’t actually get to Chibi’s till 4:20ish. I told Reiko that I had wanted her to actually feel as though she got there early for once...even though she was late too -.- Anywho! They were surprised to see my cousin, but almost instantly accepted her into the fold. In fact all it took was a ‘are you as cool as MM?’ question for them to want to boot me out _ But that’s another story. We all sat down and exchanged gifts and we all loved our gifts. I got both the Moutos gifts that corresponded without actually matching. Chibi and Reiko both received a beautiful hanging fairy from Pyramid Collection and a lovely key necklace, but their gifts were unique to them. I also got Scamp a 60 color pencil set and a year’s subscription to Writer’s Digest. I would’ve gotten her a membership to their book club as well, but her income is substantially less than mine, and it wouldn’t be fair to shove all those books in her face without her being able to actually get them. So yeah. Reiko got Chibi the second season of House, and she got me the first season of Bones. I’m pretty sure that I mentioned that I knew what she got me because of the escapades we had to go through to get it, but if not oh well. Chibi got me a T-shirt of Sesshomaru, a cool kanji mug, and a beautiful necklace; She got Reiko a necklace that Reiko’s always stealing from her (she figured she’d earned it), a kanji mug and a nezu & neko Furuba T-shirt. Very cute. Note: Pictures of this event is up on my FaceBook ^.^ After that, Scamp and I showed them all the benefits of having a GameShark to stop the timer on Katamari & We Love. It was fun for a bit when we could finally impress them by rolling up the world and all. Then we watched the first few episodes of Threshold. Chibi made some (very nasty) onigiri in between brakes (when we had to get up or permanently loose all feeling in our backsides), but we didn’t actually leave till 11. And even then it felt like we hadn’t spent enough time together -.-

Saturday. I was feeling a little more sick Saturday morning, but Mom, Scamp and I had all planned on heading to town to pick some things up. We had to be home before 1 because Mom had a wedding to go to. We got a couple of nice shirts at Avenue and I also bought a few products at Bath & Bodyworks. I was getting low on my pink cherry blossom shower wash, so I wanted to get a bit more, and I’ve noticed that my hands are cracking a bit, so I wanted to get some lotion as well. Well, I got both of those, and then I noticed some caramel corn bodywash/shampoo/bubble bath. I had to get that too! Then a sales lady said if you buy 3 you get 1 free, so I got Scamp some hot chocolate hand lotion (that I’m sure will make all British boys and pert puppies lap right out of her hands ^___^). We went home and just chilled out for a while. Neither of us was feeling that great. We ended the night gabbing our heads off in my room. Bub came in that morning while we were out shopping, so he had to take the guest room. I admitted that I was a fitful sleeper and Scamp said she’d rather sleep on the sofa. So that’s how things went. But before we really called it a night she checked in with her parents who’d called earlier. They said they were picking her up early, sometime Sunday morning because her uncle was coming in and he had gifts for them all. I couldn’t really complain since I’d had her for 5 days or so. I think we finally got to bed around...1ish?..I guess.../shrugs.

Sunday (Christmas Eve). Sunday I felt really bad. I thought maybe it was just because I was tired, but I really couldn’t shake it. After waking up and having breakfast, Scamp and I just hung out in my room till her parents got here to pick her up. We visited for about 45 minutes before they left with her and all the gifts I had gotten for her siblings. We then headed for church, which was very nice. I was nearly falling asleep by the end of it, but I was very hungry. That’s completely new for me considering we used to get up and go to the 8 am service and be out in time for 10:30. No one was really hungry, but we’d all head out to town (if nothing was cooking at home) and arrive just in time for the restaurants to open. Once we smelled the food we were a bit hungry, but even then it was a proper “I really want to eat” hungry. It was more of a “hmm, that sure smells good” hungry. This time we were actually hungry. So we went to Burger King for Bub, Dad and I and Mom got something from Taco Bell (which is not a church ^___^). Inside joke. I quickly succumbed to my illness right after eating and was miserable all day. I did manage to (somehow) get a scene from the book written out. It’s not in sequence, but it is crucial so I wrote it all out before I lost it.

Christmas. Christmas was fun and terrible all at the same time. Bub was just as sick as I was (perhaps worse), but we managed to try and put on a good front for the rents ^,^ We had our traditional breakfast of tomato gravy and biscuits with bacon. Then we exchanged gifts and all, and I really do think that passes entirely too fast. I got a very nice jewelry box, a pretty necklace, and a 60 disc CD holder from the rents. Scamp got me this adorable statue of a baby dragon, who I’ve taken to calling Edger (Eddy for short). I’d been eying him from the Pyramid Collection catalogs, even though I was certain it’d be one of those things I’d never buy for myself. Dad got a gift certificate from Harbor Freight from Mom. And from me he got the Bible Collection (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Sampson & Delilah, and King David), the Smokie & The Bandit Persuite Pack, and The Ultimate Johnny Carson Collection on DVD. Mom got a watering can fountain and the computer game Insaniquarium from me. She got Channel #5 from Dad. Thomas got a “grooming kit” from all of us along with some cash to get more clothes while he’s down here. We all retreated to enjoy our gifts. Note: There will also be pictures of this on my FaceBook.

I cleaned up my room a bit so we could scoot my jewelry box in here and then loaded it up. That got me to wanting to clean for good, and that kept me busy while Dad and Bub watched King David. I realized it had been a while that I’d been cleaning when Mom tapped on the wall and told me lunch was ready. We had roast beef in gravy with mashed potatoes, rolls, green been casserole, and rice dressing. It was wonderful. Then Bub and I promptly went off to be sick and pass out for hours while the rents went and visited other family members who were celebrating at their houses.

I woke up after being asleep for a while and they were back. It was dark, so I asked Dad if he wanted to watch some of the Johnny Carson DVDs with me. We laughed so hard at that. There was this one thing (which will explain the title) where Johnny came out and said that there was a woman arrested for performing sexual favors for spaghetti dinners. She didn’t demand money or anything she just wanted spaghetti. So he said “Does that make her a Pasta-tute?” and Mom like to died laughing! I had to pause it, she was so loud. And I’m not talking about insane giggles neither; no-ho! This was high-pitched, I can’t breath, my sides are aching, Hyena on speed laugh. We ended up laughing harder at her than at the video! She said it almost reminded her of when I was very young and I had read over something about concubines in the bible and I asked if we knew any ‘combines’. Started the laughing madness all over again...

Lord, it’s been a pretty good day. It’d be nice if this sore throat and heavy head would go away, but still. All in all a very nice Christmas. Even if I am more exhausted and sore from all the merry making. Now that I’ve finished up this monumental entry and the e-mal I was writing to Scamp, I’m gonna finish my hot tea and go take my shower. Goodnight.

My Epic Horse Drama

msmoon: (My Little Poney - Drama queen)
Beware, for I am: Cynical Cynical

Update, update, update ti~ime! Ok So...the big week before Mecha Con, and what does MM do? She spends money...that she hasn’t actually made yet...=_= oi...Ok, so I had enough money in my bank, ok. It was all there. And then I realized...I was board out of my skull with nothing to watch. So I meandered over to Amazon and took a gander at my Movie wish list. I found four movies that were really cheap. Added together, they came to about $34 bucks (maybe a little over, what with taxes and shipping and what-not). Then, today, I happened to receive the Painted Ponies news letter. I went on over to take a gander at my favorite horse, Epic. Now, you really must understand; I promised myself when I saw this figurine that I’d buy him to go in my Zen-style, Japanese-ish room. So, I’ve always been kinda watching it. But...well I’ve been a little out of touch lately. I noticed his status was 'Retired' which meant if I didn’t buy soon, I might not be able to. ----_________---- I’m sure you see how that went. So, I’ve got about $40 in my bank now (according to my checkbook, although a check hasn’t gone through and that means I’ve got well over $300 according to the bank – God bless internet banking). But I do get paid Friday, so I’m not too worried. Still...probably coulda planned that a bit better. Oh well. What, with all the over-time and extra work I did these past two weeks, I shouldn’t be hurting Friday...when did I turn into a drama queen? Dear God, I must go take a pill or something...

Allrighty...so other stuff that’s goin’ on. Well, I moved up to full time officially. I have to be at work at 10 tomorrow and I work till five with a 30 minute break in-between there somewhere. That’s about all that’s really going on at work. Today I had lunch with Mom and Dad at Chick-Fil-A. Didn’t enjoy the food, but I really haven’t gone there a lot, so I didn’t know what to get. But I’ve got to try their cheesecakes some time. Maybe I’ll get like a whole bunch and bring them home for Mom and me sometime. Dad’s not a cheesecake type of guy. But anyway…about work...I’ve logged 154 charts so far this week, and it’s only been the first two days. Yesterday we got 118 in and that took all my time a-doin’. Today we only got 36 so I finished that up and made copies of the invoiced charts that Nicole was through with. Pretty long day. Oh, but I stopped by Dairy Queen (*angels singing*) and got a Hazelnut Moolate. /sighs oh, sinful rapture. I think I’ve decided that’s my favorite. Sure Moca is good, but Hazelnut is my fav fav. ………..I need to get a coaster. Something cool for when I have a drink or something at work...that’ll be cool. Yeah. A coaster...hmmm…where can I find a plethora of cool coasters?

Mom, Dad and I had a family night tonight and watched Hook. Mom’s been feeling bad lately and bored out of her skull. She’s been asking if I have any good movies we could watch and I say, ‘only the ones we’ve already seen’. So I said something about watching Hook and she was like, ‘isn’t that a bit immature?’ Then she realized that she had no idea what Hook was. She says she’s never seen it, but I’m betting that she has, she just doesn’t remember it. It’s an older movie after all. So we watched that and laughed. It was good.

Oh! This morning, I pulled out of my driveway and I was driving up the street, and what do I see but these three feathered butts! It was so cute! These three little ducks were just walking up the street. So I slowed down and they stopped! They were looking at my like “OK..why’s she stopping O.O!!!” and I’m like, “Kawaii ^.^ !!!!!!” So! I whipped out my cell phone and took a picture and made that my new wallpaper for my cell phone...too bad I can’t figure out how to get those pictures on the computer huh? Oh well...

I guess that’s all. Mom and Dad couldn’t find my shampoo at the store today...guess that means that Thursday after work I’ll be swinging by Wal-Mart for that too. What else do I need to remember? ...Oh yes! Must bring more candy to work tomorrow. Nicole came over the weekend with her two girls, and they kinda raided my candy bowl =.=’ Can’t say I’d’a done any different if I were a kid. Oh well. I’ve got plenty of Kisses (Hershey’s, that is) in the fridge. So that’s taken care of. Guess that’s all so far. Goodnight everyone!

OMG, I can't move....

msmoon: (CSI)

Beware, for I am: Tired Tired & Sore Sore

OMG...I am so soar from yesterday. It’s not even funny. The only time I don’t feel it is when I’m sitting still and not moving. If I get up, I feel it; if I sit down, I feel it; if I walk, I feel it; even when I try to cross my legs I feel it. Damn squats =__= Well, I suppose this job will help me get into shape if nothing else, and that’s something to be positive about.

Today...I made charts. I did nothing else all day. You know why? Because there was a foot-and-a-half tall stack of papers that needed to be made into charts. I felt like Griff for a minute there (“OMFG”), only mine was from shock while his is from awe. I had brought that whopper with me, but I only wanted to eat it when I was hungry. So when I got hungry, I took a gander at my watch only to discover that it was 1:24 and I only had 36 minutes till I was gonna leave. Of course, once I realized how close I was to leaving, the time crawled and I became ravenously hungry. I know they have coffee, so I’m gonna just have to have some throughout the day like they do. This not eating crap is killing me.

So, I got home and I watched last night’s CSI: Miami. Couldn’t killed someone when the weather kept interrupting. So what if they have bad weather in Tangipahoa? That’s no concern of mine, and I’d really rather just watch my show. Geeze. Then the way they ended it. You just don’t want the season finalizing by you staring down the barrel of a gun at your hero! It’s wrong and perverted on so many levels…anyway...

I got a message from Reiko on my answering machine. We keep missing each other because of our hours. I work 8 – 2 and she gets out of school at like 11:30, then goes to work not long after that. I was debating going over to Pet Smart (where she works) to talk to her, but she knows my number if she needs me. And with the price of gas, I really don’t feel like making the trip >__>

I finally sent off my letter to Chibi this morning. She hasn’t written me back, so I started something called “The Random Page”. The Random page is supposed to be a page of little ideas that I have that I want to mention to her before I get a reply. It’s stuff that’s totally random that I just jot down, as opposed to the replies that I send to her where I actually try to make sure the inane babbling at least has something to do with the letter she just sent me.

Well. That’s about it for now. I wanna go and post a more specific entry in [livejournal.com profile] ruby_unicorn. I haven’t posted in there in forever. Just haven’t had anything that I thought was good enough, I guess. Later.

New Duds

msmoon: (Daria Dress)

Beware, for I am: Grateful Grateful

Well today was a productive day. After waking up, Mom and I went to town with the soul purpose of buying me a few more dressy shirts. I’m not entirely sure why or how, but I always end up messing up my shirts. We went to several stores, and we didn’t really find anything that I liked or that fit me. But we did come across five shirts at Avenue and two Capri pants that are embroidered, which I like. We then got a pair of shoes for me. Black ones this time. I love my little brown ones, but they don’t go with my black slacks, which my Mom always seems to point out all the time -.- My God, I never really cared very much for fashion, and here I am trying to find one that I like so I can keep a good job. *sighs* What’s really terrible is that we all have to make ourselves look so good, or at least what the media depicts as good, just so that people will approve of us. I hate how people always judge on looks. What do looks matter to a person’s ability to do any job other than modeling and acting? None.

Ok. I’m done ranting. I promise. After that we got some lunch at Subway and I decided to try the Italian BMT for a change. I usually gravitate to either the meatball or the crab sandwiches, but I just wanted to try something new. Maybe next time, I’ll try tuna or something.

I finally got the chance to watch Kingdom of Heaven. My mom borrowed it from my cousin Tammy a few days ago. I’ve just been feeling so out of it or just plain bad lately that I haven’t been able to muster the proper enthusiasm and interest to watch it. After that I watched Fluke and Ever After; both bought at the bargain bins at Wal-Mart. Glad to take those two off my wish list. Now I’m down to only 191 items on my movie wish list. Mamma would be proud ^__^.

Now that I’ve showered, I’m gonna finish that sandwich that I got earlier (it was a foot-long), and head off to bed. Goodnight all.

Hoarding Icons

Beware, for I am: Image hosted by Photobucket.com Cynical

Wow. I mentioned in my private journal ([livejournal.com profile] ruby_unicorn) that I might go ahead and get a paid account for this journal. Since then, I’ve looked into getting plenty of icons and graphics to make icons when I do happen to get the paid account. Thus far, I’ve got 37 icons, and that’s not counting ones that I still want to make. Damn me and my OCD tendencies.

The main themes that I’ve been looking for are TV shows that I enjoy if I should choose to post about them (Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, the CSIs, Daria), and then I have a few random ones that I just want for fun, and of course the ones that are all ready mine. I definitely want to make a few more with my game characters (EQ, CoH, and eventually WoW)…I’m excited, can’t you tell?

Ok, what else to talk about. Oh, Reiko came to visit last night. She wanted to update her My Space. We also went out for some McDonalds McFlurries. That was...interesting. We always have fun though.

I think that’s all for now. I’m gonna be going to lunch soon. I need to post the next chapter of the EQ Saga too...I’ll do that when I come back na no da. That’s all she wrote...for now.
