Tidbit of 26

msmoon: (Warning)

It's pretty self explanatory :| I was really hoping to have this video fully edited and up now, but it's obvious that that just won't be happening. I need to whittle it down and work on a few things. But until I have it, here's a something from it that won't fit where I wanted it. Anyone wanna guess what the next episode will be about :D? Please do enjoy...

Yaviel & Darcia Banner
msmoon: (Jesus Saves)

OK, so after e-mailing Mrs. Ellen, we renegotiated my departure, and I’m not leaving on the 20th of November instead of the 14th. Also, after November 30th, I won’t have insurance any more =..= and there’s no way I’m gonna be able to afford it on my own. I’ll just have to find a new job as soon as I can.

…..the clear soup at Zen’s is just so freakin’ awesome. There isn’t much to it. Just beef/onion broth with green onion and mushrooms, but it’s just so warm and soothing. It’s just so nice. I could eat it any time. That’s all I have to say about that.

Oh! So, remember how I got that printer? Yeah...yeah, I got it in, and I tried to fool with it for two weeks. TWO WEEKS! Well, I’d turn it on, and it would say “Paper Jam, clear paper and press Enter” well, I’d pretty much done just about everything shy of taking the dang thing apart piece by piece and putting it all back together. In fact, I hadn’t even put paper IN the paper try...so I took it back to Target and got my money back =..= I’m gonna order another one eventually...but. I’m gonna wait till more towards Christmas. I know it was supposed to be a Birthday present, so my Dad’s sort of upset that it didn’t work for me. I told him not to worry. I’d just wait till they got their next credit card statement, you know, make sure they didn’t owe a lot of money, and then order it. But this time, I’m ordering the
5300 version.. At least that’s one thing I don’t have to worry about packing up -..-

Now that I’ve finally got the basics of my scrapbooking down, I know that I need to focus on some of the more embellishing aspects of the craft. I mean, I’ve got all the pictures printed out and most of my supplies (I’ll need to get tons more cardstock, adhesive and a spare book tomorrow), so now I need to get some embellishments and page headers. The first page, I’ve decided to have one picture on it in the center of the page, which will tell the content of the scrapbook. But there are so many costumes for the cosplay sections that I want to have page headers, ya know? So, I either need to get some sort of decorative cardstock header type, or just get some peel-and-stick letters that I can use to form words at the top of the pages that begin certain sections. I’ll have to just look about and see what they have to offer. The theme colors are red and black (for the book and pages – all the cardstock that I’ve got the pictures on is different colors =..=), so if it’s just words and designs, I’ll have to be red...If I get a border to put words on, then it’ll just be black. It depends on what I want XD

Work has become a lot better. Now that everyone’s adjusted to the news, we’ve all gotten back to joking around with each other. I just hear a lot more of, “You see what you’ll be missing!” and “How are we gonna go on without you?” lately. But things have gone back to “normal”. I just have to start thinking about my soon-to-be lack of insurance and how to train someone for this job whenever they finally decide on someone. But things have gone back to being fun again – which is what I really wanted for my last few weeks. I saw these little “Desk Cones” at Books-A-Million. They’re like, construction work cones or men-at-work cones, but they’re tiny for a desk and they say things like “I haven’t had my coffee yet, don’t make me kill you.” And I want to get G a 2009 Maxine Desk calendar, because we both have enjoyed Maxine so much. I figure it’ll be great parting gifts :D

Meh...Gotta get back to work now =..= Later, Sunshines!

Isn't it always funny how things can change and all that? I am finally home. And…I have internet…but not cable. I’m more grateful for the internet, let me tell you. I’ll take a connection to friends and the entire world over mindless media and entertainment that I cannot control any day.

So, I’m finally home…and still not quite unpacked. I had to stop by Reiko’s on the way to pick up AMOS and my movies. Of course, when you’re coming back from a trip (especially when you shop as much as I did =..=) you tend to be taking more back with you than you originally had. So, I had to leave one box behind…no room for it in the car =..= It was mostly my many box sets and since Reiko doesn’t have cable either AND no internet on top of that, she could seriously use the diversion. Plus, I know she’ll take good care of them (or it’s her ass).

Also, I’m so very very sick. I think it’s just a head cold, but it’s making me miserable either way. No worries though! I’ve got Nyquil and Dayquil to help me...though, they only really relieve my symptoms for about 4 hours before I feel miserable again. Still, what more could a body ask for? As sick as I am, Mom was much worse when I left her. She caught a bad stomach, just like I told you, but she was all congested before that, so she’s fighting the same symptoms as I am ….plus the stomach virus. With her previous exposure to hepatitis B…well, her immune system is nonexistent. She takes forever to recover from these things.

Much too late to report in to work at this point of course, so I’ll be in bright and early tomorrow. You’ll be glad to know I was grounded enough that I didn’t simply rush over and install my computer first thing. No, my clothes has been put on to wash (after the towels were put on to dry), and mean while, I unpacked the entire car, unloading food items into the fridge first. Of course, the only thing in my fridge at this point is candy, soda, milk (questionable though it may be), hazelnut coffee creamer and sandwich meat. I will need to restock soon…

Now though, I do have internet, and the computer is up and running. Perhaps a bad idea to come down…what with Hurricane Ike RIGHT BELOW ME!!...but….the boss called Tuesday. Asked when I was coming back and wondering if I could make it sooner than later. So yeah. I’m back…for better or for worse. My house is awesome. I’m sick. And I’m going in to work tomorrow. But…it’s just Friday…so at least it’ll be jeans day and I won’t have to worry about when I get a break, right? The winds are pretty bad out right now, and it’s been drizzling off and on. Thanks bunches, Ike. Feel free to just pass on by without stopping.

…It’s so good to be home. I can’t wait till I settle back into it. I’m gonna go take some more meds or…maybe just blow my nose or something. Later, Sunshines.

Pilot Program

2008-Jun-16, Monday 01:31 pm
msmoon: (Light or Train)

Any time Blue Bird talks about a “Pilot Program” she means something they’re testing. A new pilot program, along with new duties was introduced today. Effective July 7. For 5 weeks, anyone who wants to can work 10 hours a day instead of 8. This means, coming in at 7:30, getting a 30 minute lunch and leaving around 6. The up side? You get a day off in the middle of the week sometime; either Wednesday or Thursday. Also, job duties are changing. Every day I come in to work, check our voice mail, mail out invoices, go through stats, check base stats when G is done logging the daily mail, and then go back to stats. If Blue bird or Eagle call and need something, I do whatever is they ask of me, and I answer the phone (usually after the first ring). Now, I’ll be responsible for getting the mail and logging it in, taking e-mailed evaluations and logging those in, Order office depot supplies, and take care of Blue Bird and Eagle’s things as needed. No longer responsible for the invoices going out, answering the phone, or checking the voice mail. These new duties have not been given a starting date, as there’s something Cole needs to do first.

While there are a few reservations I have concerning my new duties (or giving up my old ones), I’m actually very optimistic about the whole thing. I’m hoping to get Wednesday off, so that’ll be the one day I can sleep in and/or do anything else that needs to be done. This is only going to be a trial thing though, and it’ll be done for just five weeks (starting in July). I still think, what with the break in the middle of the week, that I could easily pull off a 10 hour work day (especially with the addition of coffee and chocolate into the equation). And it’s not like I’m sacrificing my pay check either. I’m still full time and I still have the right amount of hours. And it really wouldn’t require me to be up any earlier as I’m always ready at 7 anyway. I just use time from 7 to 7:30 for “Am I forgetting anything” time (and I still forget things). Since it’s a pilot program, that means we get to try it out and see how it goes. And that means if it doesn’t work, we can change things. So I’m going to go ahead and go for it.

Let’s see how long it takes me to crack ^..^ Later, sunshines.

Harvest Moon

msmoon: (Supernatural - LOL)

My bosses and I have quite a relationship. Well, I have quite a relationship with all my coworkers. But my boss, Dr. B, calls me up all the time giving me little errands and “Missions” to do. He called me yesterday, saying he’d left his business cards on the window seal of his bathroom, and he needed me to ask Mrs. E (my actual boss and president of the company, also his wife) to bring them by so that I could ship them, over-night Fed-Ex to him at his seminar in Las Vegas. He said that my mission was to say it was in fact my fault that this happened, and that it was my responsibility to get him those business cards. So, I told Mrs. E that I needed to ship the Fed-Ex cards over night, because it was my fault they were on the window seal of his bathroom. She replies with “Of course. Because you’re there so often…” then she said, “I have to go by Fed-Ex anyway, so give me the address and I’ll get them to him.” Which…is what Dr. B wanted to avoid. I sent him this e-mail:

MM: The chicken attempted to infiltrate the nest to retrieve the corn…but Blue Bird got wise. I repeat, Blue Bird got wise.

He replied with:

DB: Roger that. The chicken was brave to accept this mission. I have been made aware of revisional plans to offset the infiltration. I'll let you know when the Eagle has landed. Appreciated your efforts but there appears to be no retrieval system that has yet been created to bypass Blue Bird detection. Pentagon has been alerted. Over and out.

I have the greatest bosses ^____^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~EDIT - the code continues
I got a call that might have been a compteitor fishing for information. I e-mailed the bosses and  I got this response.
DB: The chicken reacted most appropriately to the fox in pursuit of the golden egg. Blue Bird is in a state of alarm but has not flown the coup. Blue Bird is reinforcing the nest as we speak and her talons have grown. Should the fox return, direct the fox away. I repeat direct the fox away. We do not want to see the blood on the talons of the Blue Bird. It is not pleasant to watch.
My reply?
MM: Roger, that. Chicken is still sittin’ pretty on the golden egg with no sign of the fox as of yet. Will crow to the other hens when all is clear.
Combines & Pasta-tutes
2006-Dec-26, Tuesday 10:03 am
msmoon: (RVB - Red Bull)
Wow...what a day. I have felt so bad every morning over the holidays. It started probably around Thursday morning. I’ve been waking up with a killer sore throat, but normally, I can just drink some hot coffee in the morning, bring a few cough drops with me during the day, and drink hot tea at night and be fine. But it worsened severely over the weekend =,= I think I may have a bit of a head cold, because it feels like the pressure in my head is constantly changing. Sometimes I feel like my ears need to pop or that there’s a vice around my head. It’s not painful, mind you, just awfully tight. Not to mention my sore throat has become more permanent, and I sound like a prepubescent, emo boy. I’m definitely going to be calling our ear, nose & throat doctor tomorrow to see if I can get some sort of shot and stuff to help. But enough about that. Let’s talk about the days that’ve passed so far. Let’s see...when last I left you, I was about to go to lunch with the girls and then from there I’d head over to Chibi’s. All right. Let’s start there...
ISR WorkSaver Systems Christmas Lunch. Ok, so the lunch went very well. This little restaurant is just so charming and so superb. Not to mention that the company was just delightful. Donna and I conspired together to share an appetizer; the crab ravioli in a creamy buttery sauce...exquisite. Hell, I’d go back just to order a few more of those! Of course, Donna reminded me not to over-eat because they had some great deserts here. We immediately planed on sharing a desert. For my meal I had originally wanted to order a four-cheese fettuccini that could come with your choice of chicken or shrimp and with your choice of pasta. But, I think that I always get fettuccini when I go places, so I decided to try thinking outside the box and got a chicken dish that was fried and smothered in cheese. Not a bad dish, mind you, but I’ve also decided never to ask for something else when I know I’m gonna enjoy my original selection -_- We talked so much and just enjoyed Mrs. Ellen & Dr. Bunch’s company. We gave them their gifts (Mrs. Ellen got a very lovely candle and Dr. Bunch got a current Saint’s hat and shirt which he loved). I’m not sure what all the other girls got, but I got a $100 bonus as well from them. They really did not have to do that what with the lovely lunch and all, but it was an unexpected treat. Mrs. Ellen also gave us some great tips for how to ‘inconvenience’ a man without getting charges pressed against you. Donna and I ended up sharing a mudbath for desert ^.^
Sloths’ Con Christmas. We ended up getting out of our lunch a little late, and what with traffic being a nightmare, we didn’t actually get to Chibi’s till 4:20ish. I told Reiko that I had wanted her to actually feel as though she got there early for once...even though she was late too -.- Anywho! They were surprised to see my cousin, but almost instantly accepted her into the fold. In fact all it took was a ‘are you as cool as MM?’ question for them to want to boot me out _ But that’s another story. We all sat down and exchanged gifts and we all loved our gifts. I got both the Moutos gifts that corresponded without actually matching. Chibi and Reiko both received a beautiful hanging fairy from Pyramid Collection and a lovely key necklace, but their gifts were unique to them. I also got Scamp a 60 color pencil set and a year’s subscription to Writer’s Digest. I would’ve gotten her a membership to their book club as well, but her income is substantially less than mine, and it wouldn’t be fair to shove all those books in her face without her being able to actually get them. So yeah. Reiko got Chibi the second season of House, and she got me the first season of Bones. I’m pretty sure that I mentioned that I knew what she got me because of the escapades we had to go through to get it, but if not oh well. Chibi got me a T-shirt of Sesshomaru, a cool kanji mug, and a beautiful necklace; She got Reiko a necklace that Reiko’s always stealing from her (she figured she’d earned it), a kanji mug and a nezu & neko Furuba T-shirt. Very cute. Note: Pictures of this event is up on my FaceBook ^.^ After that, Scamp and I showed them all the benefits of having a GameShark to stop the timer on Katamari & We Love. It was fun for a bit when we could finally impress them by rolling up the world and all. Then we watched the first few episodes of Threshold. Chibi made some (very nasty) onigiri in between brakes (when we had to get up or permanently loose all feeling in our backsides), but we didn’t actually leave till 11. And even then it felt like we hadn’t spent enough time together -.-
Saturday. I was feeling a little more sick Saturday morning, but Mom, Scamp and I had all planned on heading to town to pick some things up. We had to be home before 1 because Mom had a wedding to go to. We got a couple of nice shirts at Avenue and I also bought a few products at Bath & Bodyworks. I was getting low on my pink cherry blossom shower wash, so I wanted to get a bit more, and I’ve noticed that my hands are cracking a bit, so I wanted to get some lotion as well. Well, I got both of those, and then I noticed some caramel corn bodywash/shampoo/bubble bath. I had to get that too! Then a sales lady said if you buy 3 you get 1 free, so I got Scamp some hot chocolate hand lotion (that I’m sure will make all British boys and pert puppies lap right out of her hands ^___^). We went home and just chilled out for a while. Neither of us was feeling that great. We ended the night gabbing our heads off in my room. Bub came in that morning while we were out shopping, so he had to take the guest room. I admitted that I was a fitful sleeper and Scamp said she’d rather sleep on the sofa. So that’s how things went. But before we really called it a night she checked in with her parents who’d called earlier. They said they were picking her up early, sometime Sunday morning because her uncle was coming in and he had gifts for them all. I couldn’t really complain since I’d had her for 5 days or so. I think we finally got to bed around...1ish?..I guess.../shrugs.
Sunday (Christmas Eve). Sunday I felt really bad. I thought maybe it was just because I was tired, but I really couldn’t shake it. After waking up and having breakfast, Scamp and I just hung out in my room till her parents got here to pick her up. We visited for about 45 minutes before they left with her and all the gifts I had gotten for her siblings. We then headed for church, which was very nice. I was nearly falling asleep by the end of it, but I was very hungry. That’s completely new for me considering we used to get up and go to the 8 am service and be out in time for 10:30. No one was really hungry, but we’d all head out to town (if nothing was cooking at home) and arrive just in time for the restaurants to open. Once we smelled the food we were a bit hungry, but even then it was a proper “I really want to eat” hungry. It was more of a “hmm, that sure smells good” hungry. This time we were actually hungry. So we went to Burger King for Bub, Dad and I and Mom got something from Taco Bell (which is not a church ^___^). Inside joke. I quickly succumbed to my illness right after eating and was miserable all day. I did manage to (somehow) get a scene from the book written out. It’s not in sequence, but it is crucial so I wrote it all out before I lost it.
Christmas. Christmas was fun and terrible all at the same time. Bub was just as sick as I was (perhaps worse), but we managed to try and put on a good front for the rents ^,^ We had our traditional breakfast of tomato gravy and biscuits with bacon. Then we exchanged gifts and all, and I really do think that passes entirely too fast. I got a very nice jewelry box, a pretty necklace, and a 60 disc CD holder from the rents. Scamp got me this adorable statue of a baby dragon, who I’ve taken to calling Edger (Eddy for short). I’d been eying him from the Pyramid Collection catalogs, even though I was certain it’d be one of those things I’d never buy for myself. Dad got a gift certificate from Harbor Freight from Mom. And from me he got the Bible Collection (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Sampson & Delilah, and King David), the Smokie & The Bandit Persuite Pack, and The Ultimate Johnny Carson Collection on DVD. Mom got a watering can fountain and the computer game Insaniquarium from me. She got Channel #5 from Dad. Thomas got a “grooming kit” from all of us along with some cash to get more clothes while he’s down here. We all retreated to enjoy our gifts. Note: There will also be pictures of this on my FaceBook.
I cleaned up my room a bit so we could scoot my jewelry box in here and then loaded it up. That got me to wanting to clean for good, and that kept me busy while Dad and Bub watched King David. I realized it had been a while that I’d been cleaning when Mom tapped on the wall and told me lunch was ready. We had roast beef in gravy with mashed potatoes, rolls, green been casserole, and rice dressing. It was wonderful. Then Bub and I promptly went off to be sick and pass out for hours while the rents went and visited other family members who were celebrating at their houses.
I woke up after being asleep for a while and they were back. It was dark, so I asked Dad if he wanted to watch some of the Johnny Carson DVDs with me. We laughed so hard at that. There was this one thing (which will explain the title) where Johnny came out and said that there was a woman arrested for performing sexual favors for spaghetti dinners. She didn’t demand money or anything she just wanted spaghetti. So he said “Does that make her a Pasta-tute?” and Mom like to died laughing! I had to pause it, she was so loud. And I’m not talking about insane giggles neither; no-ho! This was high-pitched, I can’t breath, my sides are aching, Hyena on speed laugh. We ended up laughing harder at her than at the video! She said it almost reminded her of when I was very young and I had read over something about concubines in the bible and I asked if we knew any ‘combines’. Started the laughing madness all over again...
Lord, it’s been a pretty good day. It’d be nice if this sore throat and heavy head would go away, but still. All in all a very nice Christmas. Even if I am more exhausted and sore from all the merry making. Now that I’ve finished up this monumental entry and the e-mal I was writing to Scamp, I’m gonna finish my hot tea and go take my shower. Goodnight.
