Artsy Venture

2010-Aug-21, Saturday 01:30 pm
msmoon: (SM - Moonlight)

I wouldn't say that I'm an artist by any means. Sure, I can get creative and all, but since I don't paint or draw I don't see myself as artsy. Still, I love taking pictures. Not of myself of course -..-' But I love to take photos of flowers, landscapes, the sky, people, events, anything and everything :) So maybe I'm a tad on the artsy side, but I still wouldn't call myself artistic.

But lately, I've been wanting to take some of my photos and actually print them onto canvas. Of course, then it occurred to me that if I'm gonna do that, I need to figure out some way to put my signature on the photo… even if it's just my initials. That's just something that stamps the pic and says, 'yeah, this one's mine :)'. I wouldn't say that I'm a glory hog or territorial, but I know that people will think nothing of stamping their name on another person's work, and that infuriates me.

Still. I'm not even sure about ordering prints on canvas. I've googles "Photoes"+"Canvas" and several services popped up. One place that I really like is
Canvas Pop, just because they have a nice ordering process, and they allow you to see the work in space. Plus they let you specify unique measurements for your canvas. If you want a print that's 5x9 then go ahead and put that in and they'll print it for you. They are a tad on the expensive side tho…but I kinda expected that. Print Your Life is pretty cool too, but I find the only thing I like about their service is in their gallery under Grunge… It's just an intestine style. It's also interesting that they'll Avatar a pic of you… I should tell Jessica about that ^..^ Canvas on Demand isn't too bad of a place either….they allow custom measurements as well …and from what I can tell, they have Ty Pennington as a sponsor o..o Oh and lastly there's Photogonia, which offers a bunch of things other than just photo prints and canvas stuffs… there's like, tile sets and puzzles and keepsake boxes. All sorts of stuff.

…and with all that, is it any wonder I feel mixed about? I mean, there are so many options, I'm just not sure what to pick. I get so caught up in looking at options, that I forget entirely that I still am not sure about that whole signature thing -..-' I'm gonna try just scanning my signature into my computer as an image and then opening my photos with Corel Draw and placing the signature over a corner… see if that works.

The reason most of this quandary started is because Mom's birthday is coming up (Sept. 2 :3), and she mentioned a while back that she'd like to get three pictures of mine from Spring, Autumn and Winter and put them over her fire place. So, I wanna go over there and measure how high all those pictures would be (obviously they'd all be landscape style photos :]) and then choose three of my best prints.

…so that's my latest project. Not sure how far I'll get in it today, but I am working on that signature thing for right now… and gathering up prices on the websites that I'm looking at. o..o other than that, I really don't know what else to do until I'm actually ready to order so..yah.

I guess that's all for now. I'll write later, Sunshines :)

NAK - The First Day

2010-Aug-18, Wednesday 05:52 pm
msmoon: (BC - Basketcase)

First day of college was today. I think you'd have to be a professional student before you could actually consider it a non-stressful experience. Even when you've got all your ducks lined up in a row, you feel all jittery and out of place. Gotta say it though, very little actually went wrong today.

Parking was atrocious, but everyone makes such a major deal over how bad the parking is that you forget how bad the parking situation is. Then when you're in that situation and you end up parking in Lot G which is a quarter mile away…. you can't help but think, 'whoa! the parking is really frakin' bad! D:'. Then you remember, that's exactly what you knew all along and you laugh at yourself… it doesn't make the parking better, but you're mood is just a tiny bit lighter….well, at least it was for me :)

Soooooooo! All of my classes are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays... although, my fourth class is just on Mondays and Wednesdays… I have Sociology first at 9, and it probably would be better if I got up and left the house at 7:45, and then just waited around until 9 for my class. If you're curious as to why…reference the above paragraph <..<

I've never really understood exactly what Sociology is… Evidently, sociology, anthropology and psychology are all in the same field, only they have more specific focuses. I look forward to actually understanding what the hell that means, and hope to God it doesn't bore me into insensibility :3 After Sociology is English Comp I, which is actually jointed with Sociology… evidently it's something that helps you to apply skills you'd learn in one course in …all courses…or something. I dunno. At this point my brian's kinda fried anyway. I'm generally bad at lecture classes…because my ADD kicks in and just flairs up into this horrible thing. I'm kinda the same at reading though… I tend to read stuff and not remember a thing of what I've read. I've tried reading out loud, but that doesn't really help much. But the English Comp class is also a 'discussion' class…which might be better than a lecture class if only because it's a little more engaging….provided that I actually engage, of course.

But after those two classes (which appear to be THE classes, the hardest classes I will have), I have Algebra. I never thought I'd say this, but… I think I might actually enjoy/not despise this. They're starting off with basics, so instead of straining my brain to remember what I used to know (and purposefully forgot) about algebra, I actually get a refresher course. Also, the lessons are all on computers and you listen to headphones while someone explains what you're supposed to be learning and you take notes and …stuff. It's pretty cool actually. Or maybe it's just my love of computers coloring my natural abhorrence of the dreaded beast (aka algebra).

I then have my hour break, and at 1 I'm off to Intro to Info Tech, which is a computer class. Intro to Info Tech is actually longer than the other classes… Most of the classes are only 50 minutes, but ItIT is an hour and 20 minutes long, but that's because we only meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.

You know how, when you have a bunch of classes, you designate one as the 'easy' class? It's not really easy, but in comparison to the others, it may as well be, right? Well, Into to Info Tech is that class. It'll be great too, because as much as I loved Word 2003…it's the old version now. So I'll probably get a better understanding of how to work the newer programs :)

The instructors are really cool though. I mean, I haven't had a single problem with any of my teachers at all. They all seem pretty awesome at this point… of course, it's still early. But they all seem pretty accessible. During Intro to Info tech, I got on my student e-mail and added all my teachers' emails to my contacts… just in case.

That is my 'thus far' report of college…thus far o..o' There really isn't much else to say. I have chapters to read over and stuff to do, but over all I have to say, the experience wasn't as daunting as I thought it would be. As long as our instructors don't make us constantly play these ridiculous social games and causing my social anxieties to flair up, I should be fine… I suppose I'll be fine even with the social anxieties…. they just don't make it easy -..- Oh well. I'll put on my big girl panties and deal with it. It's all I know how to do.

Guess that's all for now. Later, Sunshines :)

Everything's Starting

2010-Aug-08, Sunday 08:48 pm
msmoon: (MM's Jellies!)

Tonight...I asked the boys what movies they wanted to see. So far, I’m bringing The Count of Monte Cristo, Ninja Assassin, and Princess Mononoke for certain and I’m renting Clash of the Titains. I think as a fail safe I should bring the Lord of the Rings trilogy and maybe Avatar: The Last Airbender...just in case. It never hurts to have something awesome as backup :)

Oooh, that reminds me. I gotta show the guys the Mortal Kombat in Central Park video :D

Soooo, my package should be coming in tomorrow /bounces in place excitedly. I cannot wait.

It’s weird how everything’s starting up this week o..o I mean – Monday my package comes in and I’ll be wrapped up in that. Tuesday is orientation and then Friday is the lock-in. Then school starts on the 18th….that whooshing sound you hear is freedom, flying away -..-‘

But I got a letter in the mail from the college... Well, I got several letters in the mail. Most of them telling me that my financial aid still wasn’t complete and it was still my fault <..< But! I got a good letter that basically told me everything I need to know about when and where Orientation will be...that is, they told me the name of the place it’d be in...I suppose they could’ve put a picture in there…there are so many other pictures in there. Oh well. I’ll figure it out. I’ve actually never been to a college orientation before o..o I dunno what’s up with the colleges in LA that I went to, but seriously. That would’ve been helpful -..-

But my orientation will be from 12:30 to 4:30… looooong orientation. But there’ll be tons of people there and they’re going to go over the basics of NAK and then explain where all our classrooms are and all that. At least they’re thorough. And at least I’ll be walking into a college classroom knowing “Yup…this is the place I’m supposed to be” as opposed to asking if I’m actually in the right spot :) Can’t complain about that one bit.

I really do wish I knew whether my package was actually IN Little Rock, or if it’s just scheduled to be on its way to Little Rock tomorrow. Because if it’s still in Memphis, then that means it’s about 5 hours away...give or take. But if it’s in Little Rock, it’s only about 2 and a half hours awa y…that’s a huge difference. And I have to sign for it in order to get it, so I’m so gonna be staked out at Mom’s tomorrow. I’m gonna bet that it’s still in Memphis though. Because that’s the last place it was ‘Received’ and it says ‘In Transit’ in the North Little Rock section...either way, it’ll feel like forever while I’m waiting -..-

OK...That’s all I suppose. I’ll type later, Sunshines :)

You know what’s funny to me? What’s funny is when I complain about something very publicly, and then...it fades away o..o I kid you not, I stopped taking some of the medicines I was taking and I’m not feeling so bad anymore. I’m not feeling wonderful, but I’m not constantly feeling horrible either. I mean, I only really feel bad when I exert myself now. So that’s a serious improvement that I’m more than happy to have.

Something else has happened too. I don’t want to really talk about it too much, because it seems way too good to be true. Like I said, I don’t wanna say too much and jinx it or anything. But suffice to say that I’m expecting a very important delivery, and if all goes well, I will be a very happy psycho bunny on Monday. There will be a vlog about this too...but I’ll focus on that Monday. Right now I’m trying to do everything I can to shift my focus elsewhere...because watching pots is never fun -..-

VBS is over today around 8:30 so, I’ll be heading to church to clean after that...and I’m seriously dreading it. I plan on only cleaning a little bit, but I’d still like to do as much as I can so that when I come back tomorrow, I won’t have to worry about too much. And it’s bloody hell week too, and there’s no one to really help me so…yeah. Joy.

I finally finished editing the next video, and I’ll try to post that soon. With my internet, you can never tell when exactly it’ll be posting so ...I can only hope and pray.

Ok...I think I don’t hear my clothes in the dryer anymore...I’m gonna log here and check on my laundry. Later, Sunshines :)

Sensory Overload

2010-Jul-31, Saturday 05:19 pm
msmoon: (Supernatural - Bad day?)

Jalapeña -..- Things haven’t been good lately. Not at all. Mom and I went to get our hair trimmed Friday...and it was all downhill from there. I’ve been feeling so dizzy and disoriented for about 2 months now, and doctors can’t figure anything out for me. I wasn’t feeling any better yesterday, but I’m the ‘suck it up and deal’ girl so I just went along.

There was a point... when I thought, ”I am going to throw up...or pass out...or both.”. It was about the time the beautician had finished washing my hair, had me in her chair spinning me about, had her blow dryer right next to my ear and my fingernails scratch at my scalp >..< Sensory overload…I has it.

Thankfully, I did not pass out or throw up (talk about embarrassing if I had). But since then, my stomach has been...weird. I usually eat small portions, but I’ve been flip-flopping between eating very little and ravenously hungry o..o’ My stomach also does summersaults a lot more -..- I wouldn’t mind if it burned off the fat on my belly, but alas it doesn’t.

Also, within the past few days, I’ve created a FaceBook page and group for our family reunion. Mom has been wanted me to figure out something for the reunion for everyone to share photos...I tried it with Flickr, but once I got up to 198 pics they informed me that after 200 I’d have to pay for my account. It probably wouldn’t have been as hard if I weren’t feeling so terrible. Oh well tho…thanks life.

I..can’t think of anything else to typ =..= Already I feel like I’m tipping sideways. Um...I’m gonna try shooting another ep soon, but I don’t know how that’ll work out -..- I’ll probably just make myself as comfortable as possible and bear it or…something.

But, I guess that’s all. I’ll talk to you later, Sunshines.

Rules...

2010-Jul-25, Sunday 03:21 pm
msmoon: (SM - Cheesy Pose)

You know, today, the pastor gave us all these work sheets that have huge headings on them. It says to make four to five rules for each of the headings that would help you to grow in faith. The areas are Church, Home, School and Friends. It kinda made me wonder...what if someone asked us all to develop some rules for these or other topics. What would we write down? Would I want to take a page from your book? It can be simple, yeah?

Like, for Church… the most basic rules I can think of are: 1) Show up. 2) Stay awake. 3) Be reverent. 4) Find a place in which you can perform and do so to the best of your ability :)

Tho...I suppose that last rule would be a good one for life in general. Actually...all of them might be considered a good base for life. Show up, stay awake, be reverent and try to find a place in which you can perform and do so to the best of your ability :) The rules of life…there they are :D

Oh. Before I forget. I’m trying to form a sort of currency system. I’m thinking there should be currency commonly used by the poor, the middle class and the wealthy. Also, I thought I might invent some sort of material...Once again. I’m not 100% sure. Still working on it.

Family Doctor

2010-Jul-21, Wednesday 04:42 pm
msmoon: (RVB - Caboose Toast)

So today I had an appointment with my new ‘family’ doctor. Dr. S, I’ll call him for now. I know you’re always supposed to establish a family doctor and all, but I’d put it off because I could always just go to emergency care. But this disoriented feeling has persisted over a month now, and I figured it wouldn’t hurt. He was concerned with my insomnia – funny, I’ve been concerned with it too, but no one else seems to care. He referred me to a local ear, nose and throat doctor too, thinking he’d be better equipped to handle the dizzy issue I’ve been having. Dr. S made a prescription for me for my insomnia, instructing me to take half a pill before bed for the first week and then a whole pill from then on. He had wanted to sign me up for a sleep study, but when he saw that I had no insurance and was self pay and all, he said it might be too expensive for me. Also, he gave me a medication that is only $4 :) Nice fella.

What was funny was when he was walking out and he said, “So give this medication a try and if it works call us and tells us, or otherwise you can call us and tell us, ‘This doesn’t work, you guys are stupid.’” :D

Anyway. I have an appointment at 3 this Friday with the Ear Nose and Throat doctor. It’s funny, but unless you get a referral from other doctors, most of the doctors here won’t admit you. It’s weird, but they always say they aren’t accepting new patients.

I’m …very tired now… and very dizzy. But, I’m trying to finish my washing. Mom and Dad got me a ton of clothes yesterday when we stumbled upon an Avenue (my favorite place to shop back in Houma) in Springfield. So, I’m washing everything in hopes of being able to wear it :)But, in between loads of clothes, I’m having a Supernatural marathon. I was moping about for something to watch and lamenting over the fact that I’d really like to have Avatar: The Last Airbender on DVD, but then my eyes fell on my Supernatural box sets and I rejoiced :3 It’s kinda funny how I’m still a little shocked at how awesome the first season is o..o’

Tomorrow, my parents and I are going to Springfield, MO :) We go there every few months or so, because there’s a Sam’s there, and Dad and Mom are members. They like buying tons of stuff at Sam’s so that we don’t have to worry about it for a long time.

But also, it means sushi. We usually go to Nakato, but they actually don’t open until 5 pm. So Mom asked me to look up other places in Springfield that has Sushi and Habachi I found quite a few places. Among them are Kai, Fuji Japanese Seafood Sushi Bar & Steak House, Sakura Japanese Sushi Bar & Grill, Hinode Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar, Haruno Sushi Caterers, and Izumi Hatake Sushi Bar & Grill. Of all of those, I think I’d like to try the Sakura Japanese Sushi Bar and Grill :) Not just because I love Sakura trees either. The reviews I read all said the place was awesome AND affordable.

Also, after we’ve walked off the sushi at Sam’s, we’ll head over to the David’s Bridal there. I need to (probably) get fitted and start the process of getting my bridesmaid dress going. Taking measurements...it’s never fun :( Especially since I’ve upped my exercise regiment, and yet it seems to be helping nothing. Makes me sick. Or perhaps, I wish it would. Fighting Distractions

2010-Jul-17, Saturday 10:53 pm
msmoon: (Ice Age - Twitch)
Hiii...

Yeah, I keep meaning to write a blog entry and then...I keep getting distracted or not caring or having something else to do...hate that. And for some odd reason, my Twitter posts haven't been posting <..< hm.

So...what’s new? Well. Paid for tuition at school. Never thought I’d spend so much money on something that wasn’t an electronic o..o’

I kid you not, I just started typing this and then immediately got distracted -..-

Anyway! Yeah...paid for tuition.

Also, my laptop, Makoto? Yeah, it’s sort of gone down for the count. It kept shutting itself off for no reason. I assumed it was that it had somehow over heated and just needed to cool of...but then, the other day, it shut down and started making this very weird buzzing noise in a repetitive almost beep-beep-beep- fashion -..- Bub seems to think it may just be that the fan in it has broken and it’s not turning on until that’s fixed. I’m hoping that he’s right...and that it isn’t too much to actually fix it. We both laughed about the irony. Just about to start school next month and the laptop dies. And I am very unwilling to actually bring it in to be fixed until I’ve bought the books I’ll need for this semester. And no one seems to know what books I’ll need or when I’ll be told what books I’ll need. I’m hoping that is what orientation on the 10th is for.

Oh yeah! Bub is visiting us again. He just moved into a new apartment, but he has literally nothing to put in it as he’s been rooming in a single room no bigger than the size of my guest bedroom. So he came over to stock up. Luckily, Contact was on my Netflix queue, and we just got through watching it. A thoroughly engaging movie if ever there was one. I absolutely loved it :)

Also, I joined a group on FaceBook called
Make a REAL “Gargoyles” movie, Disney!. They say that Disney is looking at making a live action Gargoyles movie...but isn’t basing it at all in or from the old show. So, they’ve given out work addresses and asked fans to write in, with a polite tone, notifying the higher ups on the projects that the original show is what we love. I fully believe this, so I have written up two letters to go to both of the addresses they’ve given us. I really hope they listen to us about this too. It wasn’t too long ago that The Last Airbender disappointed its fan base so horribly, and a few people had mentioned that it was kind of why they were glad no one had tried that with Gargoyles. Kind of ironic really. If they do move ahead with this project, I really hope they realize the gold mine they’ve been sitting on and take cues from the fans.

That’s really all that’s going on...I still haven’t filmed anything new. I really just haven’t been able to force myself to do so. But, maybe I’ll get around to it later on. I did do 4 videos all in one week, so that should buy me some time...least-ways, that’s my opinion of it all.

Well, it’s pretty late and I have to wake up early for church tomorrow. I’ll write later.
