Lore 4 Noobs : Jarod Shadowsong
2010-Sep-17, Friday 08:32 amIt looks like OMFG is making an effort to explain lore on their YouTube channel, and I gotta say…it’s pretty epic. They always do things in a unique fashion, and I’ve watched the first video a few times. I enjoy it every time, not only for the lore but for Pride’s colorful commentary and to try and read all the funny things on the ‘trading cards’ that keep shuffling around. It’s really amusing :) Check it out.
First Study Guide
2010-Sep-15, Wednesday 06:40 pmI'm fairly sure that I've convinced all my classmates that I'm insane... this is mostly due to the fact that I have typed up the entire study guide and the added to it. In total it's about 17 pages (depending on font type, margins, etc). And here it is, all complete and done as I can get it without my eyes popping out. One day I'll look back on this and chuckle, but at least it's an interesting subject. Now...I've gotta go and defrost my brain a bit -..- I'll write later, sunshines.

ECI - Paper 2
2010-Sep-11, Saturday 05:36 pmOK, after four hours (give or take) of my re-reading the text, typing ideas on the text, staring googley-eyed at the text, cussing out the text, and then staring at a dark room, it’s finally done. Admittedly I was not as prepared for this as I had hoped I’d be. Obviously when the teacher says to read over the essay, what he actually means is to read and take notes and compose thoughts and ideas into written sentences that you will later use in your *insert ludicrous number of pages* paper won’t beat the tar out of you =..= I really do wish he’d just go ahead and actually say that as opposed to scaring us.
Anyway, here it is for ill or nill. My second English Comp paper. It’s supposed to be a 3 page summary of Margaret Mead’s “Sex and Temperament”. Interesting material when I’m not trying to dissect it.
I think I’ll go and pack my head in ice now =..=

Early Over-Preperation

Yesterday, Mom and I went online to book our tickets to Atlanta. We also booked our rooms at the Lodge (where the wedding party will be staying). Whenever we get there, we’ll rent a car and all that jazz. It hasn’t escaped me that I’ve never been on an airplane before in my life -..- In fact, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling anxious already. Which…totally sucks since I’ve got the better part of a month before I actually have to get on said plane. Luckily, I have plenty to think about to shift my focus. School’s a given of course, but I’m also thinking of all the things I’ll want to take with me. And, yes, I’ve started a small list of things to bring -..- dang OCD.

It’s a work in progress. I’m thinking of keeping all the cords and electronics in one place… my back pack. Dad says we get one suitcase and one carry-on, so I’ll just have my suitcase and my back pack. The only problem I can think of at this point is the bridesmaid dress. I realize that I can’t have it hanging, so I’m going to have to fold it up in my suitcase. Even if I lay it on top of everything, it’ll probably still wrinkle, and that means I’ll need a steamer or something… because fabric like that probably can’t just be ironed like normal. Mom says we may be able to find something when we get there… or ask if anyone in the wedding party will actually have a steamer.
Well…I had planned on catching up on some schoolwork today, but I’ve kinda been putting it off. I have to wash clothes and pick up about the house, so I’ve used that as an excuse not to do any work. I think I’ll have some lunch in a minute and then get on the school work wagon. I’ve been pretty fed up with myself lately… but, I remind myself that it’s been over five years since I was in college, so it’ll take me some time to get back into that groove -..-‘
OK. Enough yaking. The jeans in the washer are done, and my stomach is growling. Time to sign off. I’ll type later, Sunshines :)

And we had sushi :) I figured since we were going to Branson, I should bring my camcorder anyway, because it's where the closest BestBuy is. So, I popped in and asked them about how to connect my camcorder to my MacBook Pro... yay.
Wasting Time before Class
2010-Sep-01, Wednesday 08:53 amSo, I’m sitting at school. Like I do every morning. I race to get ready on time, and then I rush off to school. I get here, usually around 7:50 in the morning. My first class, is at 9. So I sit in the hallway and wait for when it’s time to move. I usually just check e-mail and mess about on FaceBook. I tried reading once, but srsly -..- at this hour, I cannot retain information at all. And it’s not like text books make for amazing reading material anyway.
I’ve been playing about with iMovie a lot. I finally figured out how to import video from my camera directly to iMovie! I was so happy to find out that all I needed was that USB cord that connects TomTom to my computer for updates. I had asked a few people, but they either had no idea or said I may have to get a new camera /shudder. The process is pretty long if you have a lot of material to edit, but it’s worth it :) I’m still not quite sure what I’m doing, but I’m learning by doing….just like always.
I’ve really got nothing else to say. Or at least, I can’t think of anything short to say, and it’s almost time to start packing up. Usually, around 8:45 I head over to the class and loiter outside, waiting with my classmates for the 8 am class to be over. I’m about 10 minutes away from doing that… Oh! That reminds me. There’s this widget that I got for dashboard called ‘tea time’ … I think. And it’s basically a timer that goes off to remind you to tend to your tea before it gets cold o..o it can be set for anything though, so I tend to set it for 10 minutes and then let it remind me that I need to stop typing and get moving :)
I can hear the class next to me wrapping up, so I may as well wrap this up. I’ll type later, Sunshines.

One of the things on there was, What ethical issue was raised by Humphrey's Tea Room Trade study? Of course, I'd never heard of this study and thought about googling it.
