Malicious Ditch

OMG, funny. I called Chibi this afternoon (right after work), and I asked if she wanted to come over and watch more Supernatural (and rip a few more episodes), and so we watched a couple of episodes. Then she takes a few pictures with me before she leaves for Japan. Then we say our goodbyes and she wants to hug (in case one of us dies)…and I close the door and wait till I don’t hear her car and then I turn the light off….then the door bell rings….and she’s backed into my ditch!

So, of course, I took that opportunity to tape her and the car. Then we sat down and tape recorded ourselves till her Dad came….Of course, I was saying something like “I kinda feel bad…but really, my ditch was just sitting there.” And Chibi says, “Oh please! Your ditch is malicious!”

But, her Dad hooked up the tow rope….and it snapped. So, then he hooked up a chain, and it didn’t snap (thank goodness =.=). But anyway. It’s late, and I really need to get to bed! Goodnight!!

Beware, for I am: Bouncy Bouncy

Yes. I’m bouncy. And ‘bouncy’ for MM means I’ve drank something that makes me slightly giggly, but am otherwise ready to go right to bed at any moment. ...Heh.

Ok, so my day. Well, I’ve gotten into the habit of watching The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It’s almost like the Rosie O’Donnell show, only better because it’s newer and hipper. And Ellen does have that sarcastic, dry humor that I do, so I kinda enjoy her more. I keep watching and I keep thinking, Behold my dream job. But then I’d have to put up with people like the Pussycat dolls and be nice -.- I’m just not a fan of them. Sorry to those Pussy lovers out there. God that sounded so wrong...

Work was more tedious than anything today. I made charts and that was about it. I did do some faxing just to break up the monotony of it all, but that didn’t take more than 15 minutes. Mondays are always a little harder because you get about 3 times the usual mail, so that means more work for me. I’m gonna have to crack down and really get after it tomorrow.

Came home and ate with Mom, then we peeled shrimp. Don’t know how many of you who don’t live down here in the South know about shrimp peeling. Depending on who you are and whether or not you’re allergic to iodine, it’s not that bad. It’s tedious, stinky and just yucky. But it’s a necessary evil. And these were jumbo shrimp (a contradiction in terms, no?). Jumbo shrimp are easier to peel than the tiny ones. Plus they don’t take as long.

After Mom and I got the shrimp done (peeled, cleaned, bagged and put away) we showered and then we drove down to Dairy Queen and got the new Hazelnut Moolate. Sinful rapture! By far, my favorite...although the Mocha-chino and Caramel are both in close running for second place. Mom can’t drink a whole one though...it’s beyond me as to why. She says that after a while it gets to be too sweet. As if there were such a thing. It’s my sad fortune to have sensitive teeth though...which isn’t too bad. I mean, it does make it a bit harder to drink the Moolotes, but in the end I sip it slowly and enjoy it more.

Now that I’m home, I’ve checked mail, rejoiced in the adding of new friends, and I’ve gone through all my LJ friends pages and added those that have AIM to my buddy list. That doesn’t mean that I’ll actually be talking to anyone soon...but I’ll always have the option. Whenever I’m on AIM and I have free time I think “Maybe I should go ahead and start talking to this person.” And then I remember that I’m a looser and it probably won’t go anywhere anyway, and I just sign off. /sigh Stupid self esteem complex.

I shall now go off to dream land whilst listening to the .hack//sign sound track. I cannot wait till I get the Puma back just so I can jam out to my new music while I’m driving...and by jam, I mean bob my head while I play it with the windows up and at a reasonable volume level ...=.= Goodnight.

Wow...what a day. We finally had a lull in there...somewhere between...oh, I don’t know...4:15 and 4:45. Then Mr. M (the big boss) came back in and freaked out because Mrs. C and I hadn’t put copies of the e-mail we’d sent out in the files for the flood and property folders. Mrs. C quickly brought up the e-mails (along with every other piece of paperwork we’d done) and printed everything out, clipped it all together, and placed it all in the fold just so he couldn’t complain. And we did all this while he was chatting away on the phone. By the time he got off the phone, it was 5:05, and we were half way out the door. He stopped us and check to see everything was there, and then let us go once he realized that we’d printed everything out twice just to make sure -.- Looking back at it, it’s hilarious. At the time it was mildly-annoying. You know; the type of annoyed you get when you can work up a good annoyed. Yeah. Mildly annoying.

Ok, so on the way home I stopped at a hand’s free car wash. Man, I love those things. And my baby was so dirty. So now the Puma is full of gas, and it nice and clean. MM is very happy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the type that has to have everything a certain way. If my car is dirty and I can’t afford to go have it washed, then I’m perfectly content to just let it slide. But when I’m perfectly capable of taking it to a place where other people wash it or machines do it for me, then I really want to get the problem taken care of. It was also very fun, because Reiko had lent me hear Skindread CD (the Jamaican Hard Core group ^.^), so while the pressure wash was rocking my car back and forth slightly and doing a killer impersonation of hurricane Rita, I cranked the radio up and rocked with the car to the music!

You know, I don’t know why Reiko decided to let me borrow that CD. I mean..I don’t like Hard core very much. Sure, sometimes it sounds cool (from afar), but over-all, it’s a headache on a disk. And while it could be argued that I am the Queen of the Caribbean Music scene (please tell me you can feel the sarcasm as you read this), I honestly don’t have that much Jamaican music to show for it…not that I don’t like Jamaican music...at least, I think I like Jamaican music...Well, put it this way; I’ve never disliked Jamaican music.

How did I get on that subject? Never mind -.-

So, I get home and Mom’s got a women’s meeting to rush off to. She’s got this huge pot of chili ready for me to take to work tomorrow. I sent an e-mail around before I left mentioning that my mom wanted to cook chili for the lot of us, and the general response was positive. Although I don’t know of any group of red-blooded, American women that would pass up the chance of a free meal or the chance not to cook. So, I fixed some college cuisine (ramen noodle -.-) and watched the back dated episodes of Gilmore Girls that I’ve been missing in the mornings. Damn, but I love that show. I really have to buy the first season so that I can force Chibi ([profile] amai_tenshi) into watching it.

Oh, that’s another thing. Has anyone noticed that my personalized icons for my friends are no longer working? I’ve gone over to The Massive Tool thingy, and it still just isn’t working. And I’m left wondering what’s up. I mean, if I’m doing everything right, dare I say that it’s something wrong with their code?

Anyway...Mom just called and she’s coming home. That means another round with the blow dryer. I just wish we could put a straightener in my hair that would work without giving me sores all over my scalp. Oh well. After Mom works her magic, I’m gonna take pills and watch Slayers Next till I konk out. So goodnight.

Important Obsessions

Mood: Image hosted by Photobucket.com Excited

Yo. While my earlier post was entirely humorous, I intend to continue on while my usual banter as opposed to spamming you with funny things I get sent in e-mail. That was just too funny to pass up though. Anyway!

Dad came in last night. I don’t think I posted that. But he got in late last night. He brought me a cheese burger. It was a Whopper with cheese, and I usually like those, but he’d had it since morning, and it was partially bad. Oh well, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Jobs fair this morning didn’t quite turn out the way I thought it would. Mom had implied that there would be tons of doctors there wanting people. However, it was just a normal jobs fair with people from all over including McDonalds and Home Depot. So, I passed around from table to table asking who was hiring and what for, and then I headed home. It only took 20 minutes or so. Hibernia bank was the first to actually reply by sending me an e-mail that linked to their online applications. However, I can’t remember the exact dates of my high school, nor can I remember my grade averages. +_____+; Oh well, I’ll get that as soon as I can.

I then came home, received The Daria Database book that I’d ordered, and began reading that. But we all got really really sleepy, so we decided to go to town just to have something to do. We ended up buying my gift to Bub, and a chair for my computer desk. I had to make do with an extremely old, uncomfortable chair, but now I have a nice fancy one. And it only cost like $80 something. So that was good.

Mom also talked us into going and checking out what the Toyota hybrids looked like. We were all in a jokey mood when we got there, so we kept saying funky things that threw the dealer off. Like, I was sitting in the back seat and I looked over my shoulder and noticed that the trunk was a hatch-back trunk that opened up to the back seat. So I said, “Hey! This means no one can put me in the trunk!” and then we took a tour of the trunk from outside the car, and he was showing us the spacious storage underneath the carpeted area, and we’re like “Good for smuggling.” And he shows us this thing that stretches from the back seat to the end of the trunk (effectively blocking anyone’s of what’s in the trunk), he said “Which is great if you’re carrying Christmas presents, and you don’t want anyone to see them.” And I was like, “Or if you’ve got a body back there.” And he pointed out the lighting that makes the trunk super visible, and I’m like, “To make sure you’ve cleaned up all the blood afterwards.” It was just fun.

Then we came home and assembled my computer chair. I got online and checked e-mail and such. I then asked if Dad wanted to watch the Survivor that he missed, and he did. So I put that on and took my shower while he watched that. Dad and I watched the end of the Survivor while drinking coffee. I’ve suddenly realized that I enjoy coffee a lot, if I’ve had the chance to doctor it up. So, I’m now a coffee girl. I make a cup every morning.

Now, I’m looking up more stuff about The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe on the internet. I cannot wait till this movie comes out. I can’t wait till all of them are out and I have them on DVD. Chibi ([profile] amai_tenshi) and I have already agreed to go and see it with Reiko whenever it comes out to celebrate our Christmas. We used to celebrate by watching Lord of the Rings and exchanging gifts after the movie (or before, or after, usually after since Chibi’s always late and we have to hustle into the theater). However, I find I have many concerns when it comes to this edition of Narnia. Narnia was my first literary obsession, and I loved it throughout my childhood and right into my teen and adult years, so I hold it very near to my heart. I, in fact, have 3 copies of the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis; one soft cover set, one hard cover set, and the all-in-one huge book that’s fully illustrated and all. Considering my obsession well and pointed out, I will now voice my major concerns at this moment.

Concern #1: The Voice of Aslan. Aslan is the lion. He has to have a certain tone to his voice, it has to be rolling, deep, moving, and frightening all at once. Liam Neeson is playing the voice of Aslan. Now, I love Mr. Neeson, at least I’ve loved everything I’ve seen him in thus far. I’ve never seen anything that he did as far as voice acting. I am excited to see his performance, and I am equally terrified that it won’t be just everything that it’s meant to be. I just hope he rocks the hell out of this role!

Concern #2: Import/Export. Yeah, sure I sound like I’m covering for the mafia or something, but think about this for a second. In LOTR: The Two Towers there was never a company of elves sent from Rivendel (or any other place) to help them fight at Helm’s Deep. To me, this was a huge Import that was done on the part of Mr. Jackson and his staff, but it was one that I could see happening in a way. Perhaps it was something that he wanted to do to show the King that alliances were still being honored and they weren’t alone. Also, the entire story pertaining to Tom Bombadil was Exported, and I’m pretty sure we all know why. It wasn’t essential to the story of the Ring, and its bearers. The movie did have a time limit and there was only so much they could do. I’d say that Export was reasonable; I’m much more interested in finding out more about the story pertaining to the ring and ring-bearer than what and who they encountered along the way to Rivendel. However, I find I’m more worried over things working their way into the story of LWW that have no business being there but are there solely to keep you interested between point A to point B. I can see how it could happen, but I find the book to be captivating on it’s own without extra drama. Thus, I don’t think it needs additions or subtractions.

Concern #3: Over concern. You ever worry over something so much, that you think you’re worrying over it too much and you won’t be able to enjoy it? That’s me right now. For some odd reason, if Weta were working on this film I think I’d feel a lot better, just because I know they can do this. If Peter Jackson were working on the Chronicles, I would feel better because I know he can keep to a story without making too many changes or that the changes he makes will be in line with the story-tellers goals. But suddenly, I’m thinking things like, “Wait, that can’t be Susan. She’s supposed to be blond!” and “Shouldn’t Mrs. Beaver have some string in her mouth? Oh wait, she’s at the table, not her sewing machine.” I’ve gotten to the point where I’m, just trying to forget about the movie till it comes out so that I can enjoy it instead of criticize it.

And that is all. I have ranted and raved and carried on. I shall now go to bed (and hopefully then to sleep). 6:00 a.m. always comes so early. Goodnight.
