Yo. While my earlier post was entirely humorous, I intend to continue on while my usual banter as opposed to spamming you with funny things I get sent in e-mail. That was just too funny to pass up though. Anyway!

Dad came in last night. I don’t think I posted that. But he got in late last night. He brought me a cheese burger. It was a Whopper with cheese, and I usually like those, but he’d had it since morning, and it was partially bad. Oh well, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Jobs fair this morning didn’t quite turn out the way I thought it would. Mom had implied that there would be tons of doctors there wanting people. However, it was just a normal jobs fair with people from all over including McDonalds and Home Depot. So, I passed around from table to table asking who was hiring and what for, and then I headed home. It only took 20 minutes or so. Hibernia bank was the first to actually reply by sending me an e-mail that linked to their online applications. However, I can’t remember the exact dates of my high school, nor can I remember my grade averages. +_____+; Oh well, I’ll get that as soon as I can.

I then came home, received The Daria Database book that I’d ordered, and began reading that. But we all got really really sleepy, so we decided to go to town just to have something to do. We ended up buying my gift to Bub, and a chair for my computer desk. I had to make do with an extremely old, uncomfortable chair, but now I have a nice fancy one. And it only cost like $80 something. So that was good.

Mom also talked us into going and checking out what the Toyota hybrids looked like. We were all in a jokey mood when we got there, so we kept saying funky things that threw the dealer off. Like, I was sitting in the back seat and I looked over my shoulder and noticed that the trunk was a hatch-back trunk that opened up to the back seat. So I said, “Hey! This means no one can put me in the trunk!” and then we took a tour of the trunk from outside the car, and he was showing us the spacious storage underneath the carpeted area, and we’re like “Good for smuggling.” And he shows us this thing that stretches from the back seat to the end of the trunk (effectively blocking anyone’s of what’s in the trunk), he said “Which is great if you’re carrying Christmas presents, and you don’t want anyone to see them.” And I was like, “Or if you’ve got a body back there.” And he pointed out the lighting that makes the trunk super visible, and I’m like, “To make sure you’ve cleaned up all the blood afterwards.” It was just fun.

Then we came home and assembled my computer chair. I got online and checked e-mail and such. I then asked if Dad wanted to watch the Survivor that he missed, and he did. So I put that on and took my shower while he watched that. Dad and I watched the end of the Survivor while drinking coffee. I’ve suddenly realized that I enjoy coffee a lot, if I’ve had the chance to doctor it up. So, I’m now a coffee girl. I make a cup every morning.

Now, I’m looking up more stuff about The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe on the internet. I cannot wait till this movie comes out. I can’t wait till all of them are out and I have them on DVD. Chibi ([profile] amai_tenshi) and I have already agreed to go and see it with Reiko whenever it comes out to celebrate our Christmas. We used to celebrate by watching Lord of the Rings and exchanging gifts after the movie (or before, or after, usually after since Chibi’s always late and we have to hustle into the theater). However, I find I have many concerns when it comes to this edition of Narnia. Narnia was my first literary obsession, and I loved it throughout my childhood and right into my teen and adult years, so I hold it very near to my heart. I, in fact, have 3 copies of the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis; one soft cover set, one hard cover set, and the all-in-one huge book that’s fully illustrated and all. Considering my obsession well and pointed out, I will now voice my major concerns at this moment.

Concern #1: The Voice of Aslan. Aslan is the lion. He has to have a certain tone to his voice, it has to be rolling, deep, moving, and frightening all at once. Liam Neeson is playing the voice of Aslan. Now, I love Mr. Neeson, at least I’ve loved everything I’ve seen him in thus far. I’ve never seen anything that he did as far as voice acting. I am excited to see his performance, and I am equally terrified that it won’t be just everything that it’s meant to be. I just hope he rocks the hell out of this role!

Concern #2: Import/Export. Yeah, sure I sound like I’m covering for the mafia or something, but think about this for a second. In LOTR: The Two Towers there was never a company of elves sent from Rivendel (or any other place) to help them fight at Helm’s Deep. To me, this was a huge Import that was done on the part of Mr. Jackson and his staff, but it was one that I could see happening in a way. Perhaps it was something that he wanted to do to show the King that alliances were still being honored and they weren’t alone. Also, the entire story pertaining to Tom Bombadil was Exported, and I’m pretty sure we all know why. It wasn’t essential to the story of the Ring, and its bearers. The movie did have a time limit and there was only so much they could do. I’d say that Export was reasonable; I’m much more interested in finding out more about the story pertaining to the ring and ring-bearer than what and who they encountered along the way to Rivendel. However, I find I’m more worried over things working their way into the story of LWW that have no business being there but are there solely to keep you interested between point A to point B. I can see how it could happen, but I find the book to be captivating on it’s own without extra drama. Thus, I don’t think it needs additions or subtractions.

Concern #3: Over concern. You ever worry over something so much, that you think you’re worrying over it too much and you won’t be able to enjoy it? That’s me right now. For some odd reason, if Weta were working on this film I think I’d feel a lot better, just because I know they can do this. If Peter Jackson were working on the Chronicles, I would feel better because I know he can keep to a story without making too many changes or that the changes he makes will be in line with the story-tellers goals. But suddenly, I’m thinking things like, “Wait, that can’t be Susan. She’s supposed to be blond!” and “Shouldn’t Mrs. Beaver have some string in her mouth? Oh wait, she’s at the table, not her sewing machine.” I’ve gotten to the point where I’m, just trying to forget about the movie till it comes out so that I can enjoy it instead of criticize it.

And that is all. I have ranted and raved and carried on. I shall now go to bed (and hopefully then to sleep). 6:00 a.m. always comes so early. Goodnight.
