Wow two entries in one day. I’m on a roll. Anyway, the title is contributed to my uncle C’s dog, Hobeaux (Pronounced the traditional way Hobo, only since we are under French influences my Aunt decided to change the spelling.) My Uncle C’s a pretty wealthy man. He has this cute little house boat, way down the bayou, and he goes there to fish and catch crabs. Dad’s been known to get 60 crabs out there. When the getting’s good of course.

Anyway, one day we were out there and we saw this skinny golden lab mix puppy (a mix of what, we’re not sure). Well my Aunt saw him and felt sorry for him. He was all mangy and skinny. She got a bunch of Spam weenies and fed them to him. Then she decided to take him home. Uncle C. and Aunt D have had a faithful friend since. Now Hobeaux has filled out—a lot—since then. He now waddles. But he’s always at Uncle C’s side, whether he’s on foot or on his tractor...heck he’s even made some valiant attempts to follow Uncle C’s trunk down the road -.- That was actually more embarrassing than valiant but whatever.

Anyway I was heading to get the mail, and then get the paper from Aunt D, and there’s old Hobeaux, laying in the garage. He’s still a golden lab mix—has loads more pounds—but his fur’s faded to a white around the face and feet. That’s when I realized...he’s getting old. So I figured I’d include him in my diary entry at least once while he was still with us. I mean it’d be terrible if you only heard about him when he died o.o

And now that I’ve told the story of Old Hobeaux, I’ll sign off. That’s all she wrote.

P.S. I love Gargoyles.
