Because I'll probably be too tired tonight...

Mood: Busy

Yo. Since today I’ll be closing at work and I’ve no idea what that’s like, I figured I’d post now. I doubt very seriously that I’ll want to post tonight, that’s for sure. But I’ll probably post tomorrow before I head out to work again to relate what the Hancock’s closing experience is like.

This morning, I started out eating biscuits and white gravy for breakfast. Mom and Dad had gone to town to shop for a new lawn mower as our current one keeps eating up belts. Deja vu. For some reason this family buys mowers that start out wonderfully, but end up eating belts like there’s no tomorrow. It’s gotten to such a bad thing that we can’t actually mow the lawn when we want to.

So anyway. I watched last night’s episode of Ghost Hunters that I’d taped. It was ok. But kinda disappointing. They never catch concrete stuff on video or audio so they can never actually prove hauntings. Oh well.

Then I got on here and checked e-mail and all that. I visited Black&White 2’s section on the Game Spot web site. They had a review of it and a bunch of new screen caps. So I was checking that out most of the morning. Then I went over to Amazon and checked the status of my package which should come in today. It’s in Jackson MS...so there’s some chance of it getting here, but I doubt it. In a way I would rather it come in tomorrow anyway, because if it comes in today, I’ll be agonizing over wanting to play it and not being able to. But if it comes in while I’m at work tomorrow, I’ll just be able to wake up Saturday and play.

Speaking of Amazon, after looking through my wish list, I’ve realized that I really need to buy the rest of Slayers (Next & Try). Because they actually only have them new and used, and there’s only 11 of Try left. So, I shall try to place an order for that soon...but I’m not sure when. How weird would it be if I got Try before Next? I mean, I love Next as much as I love Try, but I could still get Next whenever I wanted to...I’d just really rather get them both at the same time. /shrug.

Well, I need to go and heat up my food. I’m getting hungry...I also need to finish up the clothes that are washing and drying. Then at 1:30 I’ll be leaving for work...I might leave later and buy some food for tomorrow...then again I could just do that tomorrow /rolls eyes.

My fingers aren't throbbing...I can still type

Yo. I thought I’d be too tired to post...and I am really tired, but I’m more sore than anything so, I can still hobble over to the computer.

Work was still terrible, but since there were so few customers, there was less walking around. Less walking around = easier to forget about aching feet...sorta. Holly showed me something about the discount tables where we’re supposed to pile fabric on it. I was informed that these tables were actually supposed to have some semblance of order. The bolts of fabric were supposed to actually have been stacked in straight stacks with the prices facing out. The 45 inch fabrics are on one side, and the 60 inch fabrics are on the other. I stared out in the 45 inch pile. I went to the first stack (or what should’ve been a stack) and started at the bottom and worked my way up. I then proceeded to do the same till they were all right. I then leveled out the stacks. Holly actually made Mrs. Marry Anne come over and look at it. She said it was ‘really good’. When Holly left Mrs. Marry Anne looked at me and said, “Holly never compliments anyone!” I was a tinsy bit proud of that step.

Another thing I forgot to mention about yesterday...my big toe on my left foot. When I got in Wednesday my feet were killing me, and Dad offered to massage them for me. Well, while he was doing that, I noticed something on my left big toe. It looked like a black line of something on or under the nail. So I got under a light with a pointy-tipped file and dug under the nail a bit. Now, for some of you squeamish people, that might seem painful, but for me, it isn’t. I’ve been biting my fingernails into the quick since I was a little girl, and I’ve been meticulous about keeping my toe nails clean for forever and a day. So I dug under a bit and then when I pulled the nail file out a bit I realized exactly what the foreign substance was. Blood. It wasn’t even dried yet. It was in a line down the length of my toe too. Way I figure it, I was probably hard on my feet at work, and this was their way of giving me a hint. I don’t have any idea how I’m supposed to get it all out though...

Other than bonding with my fellow wage-slaves and working my legs into achy spasms, tonight was just another night. But the work night isn’t as good as what came before it. Not long after I’d concluded my last journal entry Mom and Dad came home. They said they’d found me a job. And I was pretty much like, “...” They said that the people over at the place they bought their new lawn mower need an office worker really badly. Just computer work, nothing else. They need someone to answer phones and work the computers and keep their records organized. Now, I had my doubts, but after a while I realized something...

I can do that.

I’ve always had a serious lack of faith in myself, but since these people are willing to train me, I don’t see any problems. I went and handed in my resume just before work and discussed a few things with the head guy over there.

He said that it might take a month, two at the most, but he was very interested in having me. He said they’d even clear out a space and give me my own office.../sniff. My own office. Just the thought makes me slightly giddy. So I told him I looked forward to hearing from him, and he said he would give me a call when he had everything worked out. An actual office job. I don’t even care that it’s in a lawn mower, car parts place. If I have my own office and the boys do all the unloading and loading, I’m fine. Mom says we should think about it and pray about it...but I really want it. Sure, I’m willing to wait and see what time tells, but if it’s not for me, I hope the door closes quickly. Because I don’t want my hopes getting up just to be dashed.

Black&White 2 has not come in yet. Big surprise there. This morning when I checked it said it had gone from Kentucky to Mississippi. Today is says it went from Kentucky to Tennessee to Mississippi, but either way you look at it, it’s still in Jackson! Oh well, I did say I wanted it this way. I actually think it’s extremely funny.

Thanks to all of ya’ll who realized and remembered that today was my birthday. I got a few e-mails from some friends I hadn’t heard from since forever and a day, and it was real nice knowing they still remembered.
