Raspberry Green Tea
2005-Sep-14, Wednesday 09:54 pmI had a great dream though. I dreamed that I had my new computer in my room, and I was enjoying it. I had a CD-rom and DVD-RW, and internet, and everything that I’d wanted. I played EQ I did watched movies, I made movies about EQ characters; all sorts of stuff. I was most disappointed to wake up...but such is life.
But anyway...woke up and Mom kidnapped me to go grocery shopping with her. Dad’s safety award had come in —a Diamond Offshore hat and a $153 gift card to Wal-Mart...take a guess which one we like more. So we went to town and bought groceries. We tried to not buy a lot, but we ended up spending $104. It’s very hard to get out of Wal-Mart without breaking the bank these days. Everything is so expensive.
But anyway. We then came home, and I made Raspberry Green Tea. You get a small pot full of water, and a huge pitcher for your tea. You get two bags of green tea, and one bag of raspberry tea, and you bring it to a boil. Once it reaches the boil, turn it down to low and let it steep (or, just sit there) for a few minutes. The longer the tea steeps the stronger the taste will be. Then fill your pitcher 2/3 to the top with water. Add 2 heaping cooking spoons of sweetener, and pour the tea in. Don’t forget to remove the bags. That concludes this edition of pointless facts with MM >:}
Anyway. We watched Trading Spaces again, and right afterward we left for the doctor’s office. He checked over the eye he had taken care of yesterday and pronounced that Mom was fine. If he knew her better, he’d know that she wasn’t ‘fine’. But that’s just me./grin
So then we came home, ate in a hurry and went to church. They were having the ‘Promotions’ tonight. You see on Wednesday nights, children go to classes. There’s Rainbows for really really young kids, and that’s co-ed. But then the classes split and the girls have their ‘Missionetts’ classes and the boys have ‘Royal Rangers’. The girls of kindergarten age go to Daisies, the older girls go to Prims, and then they move on to Stars, after Stars is Friends, and after Friends is Girls Only. But Girls Only and Friends are only held like once every month or something. The rest of the time, those girls go to Youth, which is also co-ed. But in the Missionett’s classes, the girls have activities to do and pins to ear, and such. They were just announcing which children were being promoted (Daisies to Prims, Prims to Stars, so on and so forth). And they were ‘crowning’ the Honor Stars. It’s a very elaborate way of the Stars to move into Friends if you ask me. They get you a prom dress, make you pick out a tiara, and your Dad (and Mom if she feels inclined) walks you down the isle to get crowned. The crown has hair-pins in the side, so it fits into your hair.
What all of the above really means, is that for the first time in a long line of Wednesday Night services…I actually had to do stuff in the sound booth. I had to have music cued, mics ready, and see to the right lighting. It was a circus. Brought back memories of the days when I was in Stars...God, am I glad that’s all over. I earned my crown by the damndest and even earned the Bronze metal. But they were redoing all the classes and they’d just put Friends and Girls Only in. I was too old to get into Friends, so I lost the chance to get the Ring and the Silver metal, and I had to be moved to Girls Only, which I hated. Baffed, cheerleader, freaks. By that time, I decided that if I couldn’t earn the ring and silver metal, there was no point in trying for the gold and the pins that one could earn from Girls Only./shrug. But then, that was when I’d withdraw from everyone, so I decided if I didn’t want this for myself, there was no use in doing it for anyone else.
And so now we’re back. Mom was watching some freaky movie on Life Time...it had Marg Helgenberger in it from CSI. I tell you...that is one beautiful woman. Something about her playing a guys x-wife and being sick when she was married to him, and then the guys current wife gets the same symptoms and dies...freaky. But it didn’t hold my interest. So it’s off to shower and then (hopefully) off to bed. Goodnight.

You know, I don't know why I take Harry Potter tests...I'm not really in the Harry Potter fan club or anything. It's cute, but /shrug I just never got into it..I suppose I was working too hard at the theater with those little brats that wanted Bertti Bots or whatever they're called. Sheesh!
