Who knows what...
2005-Jul-08, Friday 07:41 pmI took Max out and then just hung out. Sent Chibi an e-mail, and piddled around on the PC for a while. When Mom and Dad came home from...wherever they were...they handed me something and it was the Institute of Children’s Literature. They’d sent me their evaluation thingy that I need to fill out. I’ve got all of it done now, but I have to write a 250-500 word thingy about an experience from childhood, or something of interest to a young reader. Interesting. So I’ll be working on that and then I’ll send it off and we’ll see what we can see.
I only just found out the names for the hurricane this season. I knew that someone somewhere was making the names for the hurricanes, but I didn’t know if they prepared them all at once or if they just thought of a few good names and then went with what they needed. First there was Arlene and Bret, who I totally missed. Then there was Cindy who’s still sorta being a pain. Now there’s Dennis, who’s scaring the crap out of everyone. Next will be Emily, Franklin, Gert (wtf?), Harvey, Irene(ha!), Jose, Katrina, Lee, Maria, Nate, Ophelia, Philippe, Rita, Stan, Tammy, Vince, and Wilma. Some of those names I wouldn’t give a dog. Gert is odd. Harvey and Irene are funny ‘cause my grand Uncle and Aunt (the ones that are married) are named Harvey and Irene. But I tell you what if we get up to Ophelia or Philippe I’m moving..
Mom wants to move anyway. She’s only at home when we visit Tennessee. So Dad’s always talking about having to go up there after they retire. They asked if I’d want to go with them, and I was like “Sure. If I don’t go, you’ll be in trouble. Who will set the VCR to tape Survivor and CSI?” But that’s a long ways away.
Well, Chibi finally e-mailed me and said we’re ok for me coming over tomorrow. I had called her Thursday to find out and her dad said she was out with Reiko. But today I called her and she checked her e-mail and asked her mom and we’re set up to finish off the extended edition of LOTR tomorrow. Then I plan on getting her to watch Watership Down. Other than that...there’s nothing new..
Dad says we’re gonna wait till Dennis gets out into the gulf to find out what we’re gonna do. He thinks we’re gonna just board up and stay, but Mom says if Dennis gets to category 5 (which it looks like he might) we’re boarding up and heading out. She doesn’t know where, or how, but she knows we are. Either way, I’m not too worried. Leave or no, it doesn’t make too much a difference yet. We’ll see.
And that’s all for now. Later.
