Book Fever

Friday afternoon was actually very dreary. Here in LA, we have many storms in the afternoon/night hours because of day-time heating (water heats, vapor rises, we get thunderstorms. It’s a wonderful process for someone like me who enjoys such weather). The latter half of my work-day was not so good; I just wasn’t feeling so great.

I got home and I wasn’t hungry (I’d eaten late), and I felt no need to shower immediately. So I went upstairs and began reading more of my new book Twilight….and I didn’t stop till it was over. Then I re-read it (or I should say, the parts I really loved) and by the time my enthusiasm had died down, I realized it was 9. O..O I hadn’t had book fever in so long, it took me by surprise.

Saturday, I varied between watching Daria and Invasion America, which I’d gotten in the mail that day, and re-reading Twilight. It was a lazy day, because I didn’t get up early (or out of bed early for that matter). I did relatively nothing all day long and then I just went to bed. Sunday, after church, I came home and ate a little bit and after a bit of rest I went grocery shopping. I only went for a few essentials, but as I was walking by the book section and saw New Moon, and Eclipse. The new book, Breaking Dawn, doesn’t come out till August 2, so I knew there was no way I’d be getting that one. But they were relatively cheap, so I went ahead and got them. I went home, put away all the groceries and lay down with New Moon.

…and I swear, I don’t think a book has made me cry so much since….well, since they killed Aslan! O…M…G….Seriously that was just gut-wrenching. Loved the werewolves and all, but it wasn’t enough of a substitute for Edward and the Cullen’s. I got in around 4, and I didn’t stop reading till around 7:30. This was no casual reading, I was absorbing everything as quickly as I could, because I knew if I kept crying I was going to give myself a headache. I hope the next one isn’t as bad =..= I don’t think I could take it. Reiko and I are so going to see this movie when it comes out (and if/when my Twin should see it, I will no doubt be calling and asking her opinion of everything as well). And I am SO buying it on DVD…and then when they make the trilogy and sell them all as a box set or whatever, I’ll just give Reiko my old individual DVDs ^..^ Just like always.

I think I’ll end up going slower on Eclipse, if only because I’ll have to wait till Friday to really get into it (Friday being a holiday and a day off for me and all, it’ll be the only time I can settle in with a book and just read all day long). But I’ll have to have at least a chapter or so a night…depending on how much I can read before the pills kick in. I’m fairly excited about these books now. I haven’t really had such fun memorizing books since…well forever. It’s refreshing and energizing and just opens a bunch of doors in my imagination.

So, loving the series so far, but I haven’t gotten to the end yet so…yeah. I’m gonna have to reserve my opinion of the whole product once I’ve read the last book. And I can’t wait to see the movie, because I’m hoping it won’t suck...or at least, won’t suck as bad as QOTD.

In other news, Dad should be coming in some time today after 5. Other than plans to eat with him tonight (and hopefully getting him to finally try Zen’s), I don’t have anything on my social calendar. I am gonna plan for another movie-night later this month...maybe the 11th, if nothing is planned for that day. If not then, I’ll have to have it on the 25th because there’s no way that I’m having a movie-night the night the next Batman movie comes out (the 18th, everyone mark your calendars!). I can pass on Hellboy 2 (for a while), but I have been dying to see this movie since I finished the last one. Oh hey, random fact, Vin Diesel was born on the same day (July 18th)……yeah, anyway…

Later, Sunshines!

You Are a Strawberry Shake

You are a truly sweet person... but not too sweet.

You're a little too sassy and funky to be considered a sweetheart.

You love to flirt and tease. And people love the attention you give them.

You are a true extrovert, and you make new friends easily.

WTF? Are yo kidding? Oh well. I guess it’s a little true ^..^
