Alien Vs. Predator Requiem

a) Also called Requiem Mass. The Mass celebrated for the repose of the souls of the dead.

b) A celebration of this Mass.

c) A plainsong setting for this Mass.

2. Any musical service, hymn, or dirge for the repose of the dead.

 

I suppose, knowing the ominous meaning of the word Requiem, I should’ve known the outcome of this movie. Then again, knowing it’s an Alien / Predator movie is enough to know that everyone’s gonna die. Luckily this movie did have a few things in it that made it somewhat worth watching.

1. There was a predator in the movie. That helped a little and it’s the only reason this movie has a score of 1 at all. I’m a Predator fan. If I had to pick my favorite kick-ass alien from the alien movies I’ve seen, I’m pretty much “Yautja FTW!” In my book, Predator would always win over Alien if only because it’s capable of doing more than eating and reproducing. Yautja are more like over-aggressive hunters than anything and they may not understand us and our way, but I’d rather be against one of them than an Alien (mostly because they don’t harm the weak or those without weapons). Still, my favorite alien over all would have to be the Tyrusians, but you rarely hear of them these days -..-

2) When you’re watching a movie where you know almost everyone in this movie (if not every) is probably going to die…you don’t mind the @$$holes so much…because you know they’re gonna die a horrible death! In fact, when you don’t like a character you just have to wait and sure enough, eventually they get killed off.

What this show did that was wrong? Well, as humans we place a huge value on our offspring. In the beginning I had an idea this could turn into a doozy when the first two victims of the aliens were a father and his young son, out on a hunting trip. You don’t mess with kids…it’s just wrong. The only thing worse than killing kids…killing babies. Yes…it was done, folks. Not just babies, but unborn babies. /sarcasm. A whole new low! There was a hospital takeover in which the predi-alien put baby aliens inside a couple of pregnant mothers, causing several (like 3 or 4) alien babies to come out of her belly….zomg, sickness. Also, most of the characters and their stories took a back seat to violence, gore, attacks by the aliens and battles between the predator and alien...this insures that I shall be fast forwarding through most of the movie...

In the end, the bad outweighed the good so much that it made the whole film most distasteful. The first movie was better...But, like I said, the only reason this movie’s rating is 1 out of 5 is because it has a predator in it.
