Wow...what day is it? Oh...it’s Survivor/CSI day. Right. Somehow this past week has been odd. It’s like I feel like I’m kinda in a depression...It’s weird because I’m not depressed about anything per se...it’s just, I don’t want to do anything or go anywhere and all I want to do is sleep. I’m bored with everything, and it’s getting on my nerves. I can’t write either, it makes me furious. I really want to get out of this funk.
Ok moving on. Yesterday was kinda fun. I kinda just fooled around all day till the afternoon. I stared watching Waterworld just to kill time. I got a call from Reiko. She said she wanted to come to church and wanted us to sit in the sanctuary while Bro. Packy preached instead of going to class. I was kinda ok with that. I never really enjoy class that much.
Mom and I went to Applebee’s before church. Mom got Nachos Nuevos...it’s was kinda like a taco salad...only three times the size of a normal taco salad. I got the Shrimp & Parmesan Sirloin Combo with a brownie desert. I totally enjoyed my steak. It was great (after I sent it back to the kitchen because I cut it open and it was red).
We got to church, and Reiko was no where to be seen, so I went to class. I got lucky because linuXman was teaching. I like listening to him teach stuff because he’s smart, and understanding what he says actually makes me feel like I’m smart. So, it’s a win-win thing.
Ok, so today...I slept till like 11:45 a.m. I was surprised. I mean, I haven’t slept like that since I’d just gotten out of high school. I got up, and I made my breakfast. Mom told me that she’s sick. Well, she’s got her usual nausea, dizziness and lightheaded stuff that she always gets every few weeks. So, we watched Gilmore Girls and American Idol that we’d missed just to kill time. Then I got a call from the furniture store I applied at. They want to interview me tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited abut that. It’s a great opportunity. But I’m not gonna get too hopeful. It’s just an interview after all. But I funny intend to call the staffing people after the interview just to check in with them.
I totally missed doing my Mid-Week Review for the TV shows that I always watch. I usually do that on Wednesdays. Mostly because Wednesday is the middle of the week, and because I’m posting rants in ruby_unicorn, thus I feel responsible to find something to ramble on about that’s positive. So, here’s a late review just for the heck of it.
CSI: Miami. I love this show. I soooo love this show! I have to say, this is the first time I’ve ever found a red-headed man attractive. Another thing, I hate macho-ness in all its forms, but Horatio’s super-protectiveness of all members of the opposite sex and children is actually quite touching. It’s almost like, you know he’ll keep you safe, even when he says patronizing things like “I don’t want you to worry about that.” Or “Why don’t you let me worry about that?” and I’m like, “Waterfalls?! What if I feel entitled to worrying about it!?” I mean, I don’t like being uninformed or out of the loop, and Horatio takes so much flack by shield other people. It’s almost depressing...Oh, and uh, Monday’s episode rocked. Horatio finally locked up Walter Resden. I hate it when they do that whole ‘you feel sorry for the psychotic killer guy now’ thing. Once you actually break down why the dude did what he did, you almost feel like he had a justifiable motive. God knows, if pushed as such anyone else (self included) might’ve done the same thing.
Gilmore Girls. Wow, this was an amusing show. Lor’s parents got to Luke again (amusing). The whole situation with Paris was a déjà vu all over again. I wonder how long this grudge will last. You’d think she’d realize that Rory isn’t the spiteful type (it’s more Paris’s stype really, so I guess that’s why she figures other people are like that). And I suppose it’s nice to see Rory’s dad in this. And wasn’t Michelle adorable!
Supernatural. Sam’s telekinetic! Wow! Add that to the list of reasons why he’s hot. I mean, sure Dean’s got that tough-guy, mysterious vibe and all, but now Sam’s just gone from Multitalented to invaluable! Oh, and the episode was pretty cool too.
American Idol. So glad they got rid of Demon-boy. He really needed to go. I do feel a bit of sympathy for all the people that were cut, because I’m sure in their element they are very good. But some have to be cut for the better ones to go on. I totally love the vocal girl, as I’ve come to call her. She’s the one that had a mom that was a vocal instructor and she can totally rock every song she sings. Wowza.
Bones. COMIC BOOKS! Finally something about a genre I love! I enjoy it when the stuff I enjoy actually gets thrown into the shows I love! This one was about a comic book geek that was thin and sickly and he actually cosplayed as his own character. And the team had to figure out how he died, and who killed him. It was so sweet and so sad.
CSI: NY.There was no CSI:NY?! Why? The Grammy’s? That’s the only reason?! Dammit! That’s not enough. I need my fix of CSI! I can’t go for more than 2 days without that! And we’ve already taped over CSI: Miami, so I can’t rewatch it!
Grammy’s. Ok...So, I forgot about the Grammy’s. Hey, I was way too busy fantasizing about steak to actually care about what was on TV. But in trying to tape for CSI: NY, I did catch the Grammy’s ‘half time’ performance with Mr. Fox and Mr. West, and everything after that. So I will give my opinions on what I do know. As for the ‘Half time’ show; if there were more half time shows like that, I might actually watch these shows more often. That was quite entertaining. Record of the Year. Why the hell was Gwen Stephanie nominated? I mean, honestly, Hollaback Girl? That was friggin’ nominated? All the others...I can kinda see why they were nominated...in some way. Well, not all I admire, but I can see how they did a good job making the song and conveying their messages. Green Day’s song Boulevard of Broken Dreams was a song that I totally liked (even though I don’t like Green Day very Much...), and when I like a song even though I don’t like the performers, that means it’s a pretty good song in my book. Christina Aguilera’s performance was amazing as it usually is. That girl has such a gift. And she actually managed to sing without coming off like a two-bit whore. That’s always good. Best New Artist. John Legend?...why have I never heard of this person? I don’t even know what he’s done (he’s the one who won just in case you’re wondering why I’m kinda panicked about this)! I feel like I was blind-sided. I kinda figured Fallout Boys or Ciara would get it...but that’s only because I can’t turn on the radio without hearing something that those two artists have done. It’s like they’re the new it crowd. Ok this happened a lot. I found myself wondering who the heck all these people were and why I had no idea who they were. I realized quite quickly that I’m not really very knowledgeable about music. Realizing this, I meandered over to Grammy.com to see who’d won what and if I knew half of these people. Did anyone else know there were 108 categories? I mean honestly, no wonder there was no time for CSI: NY! So, I don’t intend to go through every category and give my opinions, because honestly there are some that I can’t have opinions on...so, thanks for the tributes, they were great. Congrats to the winners; to the losers, you were robbed (except for those of you that sucked). That’s a wrap!..I might just go and rewatch that half time piece again. Man, KW Sate against J...FU. That was amusing.
/sigh I still haven’t finished watching Waterworld from yesterday. I’m gonna go do that...right after I make some college cuisine. Later!
