High School? Etto...

Ok, I know I only posted a little while ago, but I need some help from the people on my friends list...especially the ones who went to a regular high school.
I currently started writing a story (another fan fic, I know), and it’s major characters are some oddball high school girls. Now, this would be great, but I was home schooled for my high school years, so I have no idea how high schools really work. All I can do is assume. And since I wont write about something that isn’t based on actual facts, I need desperate help!
For those of you who actually went to high school (public, private, whatever) I need you to tell me what it’s like. I need to know exactly how high school works as far as classed, scheduling, and order goes. Not just, “I went to this high school and we did this.” But I also would l like your opinions on things like social structure, the types of kids you observed when you went, things you enjoyed, things like that. I would invest time in going to a few of the local high schools and investigating myself, but I don’t really have that time and leisure, and I don’t think the school’s faculty would appreciate it.
So that is my plea, as pathetic as it is. I really don’t want this story to fall to disaster, but if I don’t really know this stuff, I won’t continue on it. Zero pressure though.
