This is why cleaning is bad for you!

Wow...today was excruciating. Woke up around 8:00 a.m., thought not by my own choice. Mom woke me up to go see about applying at the sheriff’s office. That wasn’t wonderful. Turns out you have to fill out an application about as big as a phone book, submit copies of your driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, etc, and you have to call ahead and make an appointment to come and drop the damn thing off. But I took it anyway. I also sent a resume to another person in the paper for a customer service person for an insurance office. /shrugs. I hate these anonymous people in the paper that tell you you’re applying for something and give you only a P.O. Box...I could be sending my resume to a psycho...but at this point, if he/she’s hiring, I suppose it wouldn’t matter.

After all that, we went to the mall and walked 2 laps which, I believe, is 2 ½ miles. So that’s good. My feet were aching, which reminded us about the foot doctor I’d seen a while back. It turns out I have nearly flat feet, and I’m leaning over on my arch. So when I walk, I’m practically walking on my arch. I can’t stand or walk or do anything for more than 20 minutes without being in serious pain, so we knew something was up. Anyway, the doctor told us he’d take a ‘scan’ of my feet, and he sent them to an office somewhere to make orthadics (sp?) inserts for my shoes or whatever. But that was a month and six days ago...(August 6th). And since the doctor’s office is right across the street from the mall, we just zipped over there. The situation is that the hurricane pushed everything back, so my orthadics won’t come in for another couple of weeks.

So, Mom and I finally got home, and we ate. I had roast beef with mashed potatoes in the gravy from the roast, and Mom had a piece of fried chicken with some mashed potatoes and gravy and some buttered vegetables. Mom’s not a meat person. We also watched last night’s Filthy Rich Cattle Drive (hate Fabian, love Noah!), and agreed that plenty of people out there need spankings.

After we ate, Mom realized that she still needed to go to Mrs. Tammy’s house and clean it. My cousin, Tammy, is a terrible house keeper. And she’s a terrible disciplinarian (Trevor, the cousin I posted about last night, is her youngest son). So, she doesn’t clean, and her kids don’t clean. Mr. Tommy, her husband, sometimes cleans, because he doesn’t like living in a dirty space, and he knows no one else will clean. So Mom goes over there every few months or so and cleans. Well, Mom had had a migraine since last night, and she still wasn’t feeling too well. Even though I wasn’t feeling well either, I decided to go with her. It cut the cleaning time essentially in half. Instead of being there till 5ish, mom and I got out just before 3. Needless to say, if I wasn’t hurting before, I sure am now.

Mom got $50 for the job though, and gave me $10. She then brought me to Sonic to have a banana split. Then we got home, and she ordered pizza from Papa John’s…We ordered a Spinach Alfredo Chicken Tomato pizza...so good. We ate one slice, and I ate another. Was I hungry? Not particularly. But I wasn’t stuffed either. And I just really wanted another one! Everyone knows how great fresh pizza is, and it doesn’t taste the same reheated, so I wanted to make the most of it. Maybe I am gluttonous...but I don’t ca~are!

Now, I’ve just gotten to checking over mail and friend’s journals. I must say, rattgirl’s wall mural is coming along beautifully. If I were able to draw or paint like her, I would be a very content, happy, psycho-bunny.

And that is the entirety of my morning...and afternoon. Mom will soon be going to a wake, and I will be staying behind to tape something for her.
