Hello Minna. Congratulations my fellow Americans. This morning President George W. Bush declared war. From what I’ve heard Europe is behind us. God help us all. I don’t know about you but I didn’t really want a war. I can’t see life going back to normal any time soon. It makes me wish my dad were home from work. But he’s got a while to go before he can come home. Our church declared today a day of fasting and prayer, meaning no eating and lots of praying. It’s hard to grasp the idea of war…I mean when I think of it I can’t imagine live going on as it was. Cutting the grass just doesn’t seem so important but it still has to get done. I suppose kids in the 40’s felt the same way. “Ma, why do I have to do my chores? There’s a war going on.” If I could I’d just continue as if nothing happened. Even talking to my friends online is different. But I guess that must sounds a bit selfish. Let’s hope this war doesn’t last long. Ja-ne Minna-san (See ya Everyone).
