A Hole in her Heart...

I just found out that my mother has a hole in her heart. That’s what’s been causing her migraines and this mysterious weakness. The doctor said that she can’t do any strenuous activities, but he needs to do another test to make sure. If it’s confirmed, she’ll have to go through surgery...a hole in her heart...
Over-all, I’d say the dominating emotion at this point is shock...however I am teetering slightly on vulnerable, upset, sad, doubt, and many other things that just don’t have proper definitions. Mom hates surgeries because it always takes her so long to recover from them. We talked and figured it can’t be anything overly serious if the doctor sent her home with a ‘don’t do anything strenuous’ warning. If it were really serious, he would have sent her to the hospital or kept testing her. But still. A hole in her heart...
Suddenly so many of the things that seemed so important like the audit and work and everything else I tend to worry about, just seem so much paler...
