It's Random Man!
2009-Feb-02, Monday 01:09 pmMisty and Kendra? This is all your fault. I can ignore one tag, but not two -..- This all started on FaceBook though, so I won't tag anyone elsewhere. If you want it, here it is...come and get it, but you'd better hurry cause it's going fast :D
Rules:
Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
(To do this, go to "notes" under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.
1. I don’t know if it’s a thing with writers, or book fanatics - but, I suffer from a stationary addiction. I love paper, pens, and notebooks of all sorts. Journals are especially cool, but unfortunately, once I get a journal I feel enormous pressure of putting something amazing in it...and then end up not writing in it =..=
2. When I was very young, I was told that I had really bad ADD, which meant that I had a hard time paying attention even if I wasn’t hyper. As I got older, this became a serious problem, so I sent myself into serious OCD to combat the ADD.
3. Because the teacher who diagnosed me with ADD was stupid, she also told me to my face that having ADD meant I’d never be smart enough to learn anything on my own. Because of this, most of my time in class was spent staring at the blackboard and envisioning another world full of fantastic people (aka, the opposite of those I was exposed to during school =..=).
4. I have a sharpie system that I developed for my calendar to denote specific dates of certain events. There are at least 20 colours in this system, a separate colour identifying deaths, births, events, anniversaries, painful events, hurricanes, bills, etc. I also keep every last one of my calendars; it’s part of the aforementioned OCD.
5. I love coloring books >..> I don’t colour half as much as I used to as a child, but since I can’t draw, I sometimes feel the only way to express myself creatively is by having a coloring book. Of the 2 colouring books I recently acquired, I tore out all the pages and scanned them onto my computer so that I would be able to recolor as often as I wanted. Too bad Mom threw away all my crayons -..-
6. I used to sleep walk and sleep talk when I was a little girl. I haven’t had a really bad sleep walking episode in a while - but I did have one the first night I stayed in the hotel before Reiko’s wedding. Mom wasn’t there, but I know I did because I woke up standing next to the locked door wondering why I wasn’t in bed at 3 am.
7. My sleep talking is still alive and well, though it only usually happens when I’m very tired. Most of the time, if someone hears me sleep talking and tells me later, I don’t remember what I was dreaming about. Only once, when I was at Mecha Con with Reiko, did I remember the exact dream I was having....let’s hope the sleep talking and the dream I had never comes up again =..=
8. When I lived in South LA, I loved the rain. It used to rain all day with huge thunderstorms, and I would love it. It didn’t matter if that meant I was going to get wet when I went to work or my car might get stuck in the mud, I love the rain.
9. I told Mom recently that it must just be nature that I love; because, after moving here to North Arkansas, it seems that I’ve traded the heavy rains for strong winds....and I love the sound of the wind. It doesn’t matter that I can’t style my hair at all....I love the wind. But...I do miss the rain and thunder sometimes.
10. I am not a cook. Everyone who knows me knows this simple fact. That doesn’t stop me from compiling links to recipe web sights, and talking about how much I’d like to try a different variation of a certain dish with Mom. My latest ‘cooking’ endeavour, is more of the oriental nature, due mostly to my extreme obsession with sushi (the cooked kind ya’ll. Don’t go makin’ those faces >..>). Recently, I saw a sushi making kit on TV, and I decided that what I want more than anything is to get that and learn to make my own sushi (cooked versions, of course). Since then, Mom and I have gotten fairly excited about all the oriental recipes are out there and how much we can cook. Already I’ve found lo mein, fried rice and several other types of things. I can’t wait to try them out :D
11. The Soup (Friday’s on E! at 10/9c) is the funniest show in the world. Their humour is inappropriate at times, but I will watch that show again and again, and laugh at the same parts. Joel McHale always keeps it real, and reminds us not to get too serious about ourselves :) Plus, Lou is adorable....and Man-kini too :D
12. I want Anthony Bourdain’s job. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tony (even if he is sometimes too cynical for even me /jk!) I don’t care if the food is gross and I get fat, I want it. Nothing is cooler to me than being able to see other cultures and the people in those cultures and then sit down and eat with them. Going to fancy restaurants alone just isn’t enough.
13. I love Mike Rowe. I love him and his show and I hope it never stops. The man can be talking about cleaning out a sewer, and still be hilarious and attractive. I don't know what it is about him, but it doesn't matter that he's such a dirty guy, he's still lovable :)
14. Perhaps it’s the OCD, but I feel a need to have more than one form of fan memorabilia. If I’m a huge fan of a book or movie, I must have something (usually something I can wear) that represents that fandom. Ideally, I’ll also have the best copy of the book or the extended edition of the movie as well...this is probably why my DVD collection is 9 pages long.
15. I love Stephenie Meyer. Her Twilight books are awesome, as well as The Host. Representing the Twilight fandom - I have all the Cullen jewellery :) At this point, I'm such a Stephenie Meyer fan, that I don't really care what she writes, I will always want to read it and have it in my library.
16. I remember watching Labyrinth once when I was little...and I think it was too over my head or my mom must’ve turned it or something, because I didn’t remember it’s wonderfulness until I was reintroduced to it in my 20’s. Unfortunately now, I’m at a certain age in which I cannot watch it with anyone else in the room, or I’m embarrassed by David Bowie’s pants =..= Representing my Labyrinth fandom - I have a necklace that has the Goblin King’s pendant on it form Labyrinth :D
17. I take extreme pleasure in the simplest of things. Watching a sunset, hearing snow melt, the wind in the trees, all that stuff. I especially love mushrooms and any time I see anything that has a mushroom in it (jewellery, laps, figurines, anything) I want it instantly.
18. I’ve spent a lot of my life playing MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayers Online Role Playing Games). My first was EverQuest, and I believe I played that...I don’t really know for certain...3 years? Then I got into City of Heroes/City of Villains for a little while. I also played EverQuest 2, but only till I realised the game was too much for my frail computer. I’ve now moved on to World of Warcraft - I’ve stayed there over 2 years and am content to do so. I have several World of Warcraft themed clothing - and that’s how I represent that fandom.
19. I love the show, Supernatural. I first saw it so long ago when it was brand new, and I have riding that band wagon since. Myths, legends and supernatural creatures were always something I was interested in, and I love my Angsty Winchester boys paired into that world. Also, I’ve decided to marry Jensen Ackles (who plays Dean); while he’s in denial, I intend to further my education :)
20. I act like I’m very easy-going, but I’m usually worrying about something in the back of my mind. I can push it back, but it’s always with me. Because I don’t let the stress leak out in any other way, I tend to have random panic attacks.
21. I’m usually always in pain because of some reason. My back, my legs, knees, feet, not to mention the endometriosis; it all causes something (or a lot of things) to just build up and affect me. Fortunately for everyone else, I ignore it as best I can and try to make everyone thing nothing’s wrong.
22. I think lists of ‘25 things’ is way too long. After about 12 or 13, I really have to dig down and think of what else I could possibly put on here. Honestly, can’t we have a ‘10 Things’ list or maybe a ‘15 Things’?
23. Watching birds makes me feel like a child again. I will be a little hungry, tearing my sandwich apart so I can go out of my way to feed birds. Something about them, hopping and darting about just delights me.
24. I love taking photos. I don’t so much like being in photos, but as long as it’s not a terrible photo with no personality, then I’m kind of ok with it. I prefer, if my photo is taken, that it’s a group photo. I also love posting them places so everyone can see. I like altering them and archiving them so I don’t forget what happened to me last year =..=
25. Don’t ever ask me my favourite anything, because I love way to many things to have a favourite. Favourite animal? Oh...uh, owl...and wild cats of any kind...oh, and otters! Otters are so cute! ...and wolves.. Oh! Bears! Bears are cool...oh...I can only pick one? How can I only pick one!
