Yo. What did I do today? Well, let’s see. There are like five people on my X-mas shopping list, and I’ve already got 3 of them marked off. Mom of course I’ve already said, but today I marked off Chibi (
amai_tenshi) and Reiko too. So basically, I bought a bunch of stuff today...but I can’t say what yet. I still don’t know when/if Chibi is coming down for Thanksgiving yet. Oi yey, so much to consider. Reiko’s gift was easy to figure, but Chibi’s was a bit harder. I just hope I pegged them correctly.
The only people left on the shopping list are Dad and Bub. Why are guys so hard to shop for? I was thinking of getting Dad a gift certificate to a gospel shop that he adores in New Orleans. It would also be a good reason for Mom and I to tag along and have beignets! But to me, that wouldn’t be enough. No, I’d need to get him something else. Tools I don’t want to do. Clothes...he has enough clothes. I was thinking, maybe I could get him some music that he’d like. I’m pretty certain he loves anything by the Gathers and old gospel quartets seem right up his alley too.
Bub is a little bit easier to shop for. I think I’ll be getting him something LSU-ish. He loves LSU so I figured a jersey or t-shirt or something. He and I usually only get each other 1 gift or so, so that’s all I’m thinking of getting him. I think I’ll tell Mom to tell him to get me a gift certificate to Amazon or Books a Million or something like that. It’s easy and he doesn’t screw up at guessing my taste.
What else happened today. Church was cool; Sunday School was great, as usual. Mom, Aunt Batty and I went to Olive Garden afterward and stuffed ourselves on breadsticks, salad, and pasta (soup for Aunt Batty too). I came home alone after picking up Mom’s meds at the local CVS. Then I got online and read e-mail and then fan fiction in a desperate attempt to stay awake. Unfortunately it started raining, and that might’ve been as good as taking a sleeping pill in my current condition. I don’t think I slept very long or very well, but when I woke up Mom was home again. She ironed while we talked. I wasn’t feeling great, so I didn’t go to church. I stayed home and watched America’s Funniest Home Videos and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, both very good for the soul. AFV is really funny, and Home Edition is very funny/moving. Inspires hope and all the junk. Tonight’s home was the log mansion for the lobster fisherman in Mane...just for the records.
And that’s really about it. I’m now just typing away, waiting for Mom to get home from Wendy’s or where ever those crazy church people decided to go. I’ll shower when she gets back and then it’s to bed with me. So...Goodnight.
