The Day the silence broke…
Hi Minna. As you can tell by my title, I’m not in a cheerful mood. This morning between the hours of 9 and 10 am the US was attacked. Most of you probably know this already. The only thing my mother kept saying over and over was “I knew something like this would happen. It’s been quiet for too long.” And I agreed with her. It’s been a long time since anything like this happened. My mom must’ve stayed in front of the TV for half an hour just watching over and over as they showed the footage of the twin buildings and the pentagon burning. So in short, today was the day our peace and quiet was disturbed. Anyone who tries to describe the sorrow the families of these people are going through with words only degrades the event. No one can describe another person’s grief or feelings. So I myself will have to content myself with comforting my mother and helping her. She spent all morning crying. Other than that, there’s not much more to say. Today will be a very sober day.
