Coo Coo Cachu got Screwed

Ok... so I've had time. In fact... I've sorta been putting it off, but it's really time to state my opinion of the Wolverine movie...

All things considered, this movie is... good. The lead actors were great. Hugh Jackman is always a pleasure to watch and Liev Schreiber was fantastic really. I did sorta miss Tyler Mane (but more because he was so effin hot and just awesome), but Liev represented Sabertooth really well... at least I thought. The only other actor I can mention is Taylor Kitsch... and I have to say, you were perfect in the New Orleans scene... but what happened afterwards, dude? I mean, your accent was perfect during the whole card dealing thing....then it disappeared. Also, I miss the Gambit eyes. I hope, if Gambit is in a movie later on, his eyes are the way they're supposed to be.

....having said that I enjoyed the performances given by the actors and that they did a very good job... I have to say... it was wrong. The plot was wrong, and there are several parts that they just twisted to their preference.

They took Dog and Rose away and put young Victor in their place AND they made Victor and James/Logan brothers. I can understand why they would do that, because Sabtertooth and Wolverine have such a long history, and neither one of them has killed each other even though they seem so keen on trying... it does make you wonder about their previous connection before rival/nemesis. From what I can tell, they were just good friends, but Sabertooth's bloodlust kicked in and he earned Wolvie's enmity from that (not to mention, he shows up on Wolvie's birthday every year to beat him within an inch of his life, just to prove he can >..>). Now, I probably should've known to expect it since the whole thing with movies seems to be twisting what is to what Hollywood assumes is better, and it does tie Wolverine and Sabertooth together better...but then, they went a little too far.

OK, so Wolvie and Tooth are brothers. That I could probably live with.... In a weird sort of way, it almost makes sense (whether that's the true origin or not, in this universe it's how it is). Emma Frost and Kayla Silverfox? Sisters? ..the hell you say? First, Emma Frost is the White Queen and she's English; Kayla Silverfox is from the Blookfoot tribe in Canada! You really couldn't have done better than that? I mean.... srsly. I can see having Silverfox there, because, duh, she's Wolvies girlfriend after he kills Thomas Logan and Rose dies.... but, to put that her sister is Emma... that's just wrong and I'm pretty sure anyone can see it easily. I mean, sure, give her a sister that they've captured and all that, but... don't make it Emma Frost! The real White Queen would probably be somewhere in England, laughing her corset off at you. It was funny to see Scott and Emma working together...considering... you know what? I'm not gonna go into that.

Also, Wolvie was born in the late 1880s... he was Canadian and never fought in the civil war. To my knowledge, he did fight in the world wars, once along side Captain America. And he was recruited into part of a team with Sabertooth, so that's sorta true.

Oh yeah, and the weapon X process... Wolvie never volunteered for that. He was captured and it was forced on him and then he had his memory tampered with while it was happening and they put a ton of false memories in there too..... the thought of an adamantium bullet being what caused him to loose his memory...it's plausible. Again, it's just wrong.

The other thing? Ah yeah, Deadpool wasn't like that at all. Sure he was disfigured from the healing and all because the healing ability they gave him helped to cure his cancer....but I certain don't remember him having his mouth seared shut OR Katanas in his arms OR multiple sets of mutant powers. I get that you'd have to do that in order to make him bad-ass enough that Wolvie and Tooth teaming up would be the only way to stop him....but it's not right. He was an amazing super-human fighter and immortal (and if you stayed till all the way at the end of the credits, you realize that) but he didn't have every viable mutant power. Also, he was funny as hell, and he knew he was a comic book character... srsly. He was hilarious. This is classic
Deadpool :D If they make the Deadpool movie, I hope they make him psychotically hilarious. It just won'd be Deadpool otherwise :3

One thing I'm wondering about... I'm pretty certain I remember Lady Deathstrike (Yuriko Oyama) was dating Wolverine just before the whole adamantium bonding thing, and he was abducted and then forced into the weapon X project.... but Lady Deathstrike hated Logan afterward because she said that Professor Oyama was the scientist that came up with the idea and Wolverine killed him when he broke out.....so....I'm confused about all that....but, they already screwed up Lady Deathstrike in X2 so... oh well. Guess it's water under the bridge.

I loved the legend Silverfox told Logan... it was sad, but I really liked it...not to mention his response to it :) Classic Wolvie. Which inspired the title of the LJ Entry :D

I'm kinda hoping this'll be like... like the Hulk. You know, there was really nothing wrong with that movie. But it kinda fell flat. But then, the second one, The Incredible Hulk followed, and it was so awesome. I know they're making a Deadpool movie and I've heard there is a second Wolverine movie... so, I'm really hoping the next ones are good, because this one just didn't do it for me.
