I’m not sure if I realized how OCD I can be until after I made this video. But anyway, this is my way of saving the date. My system for remembering all the important things that happen :) Please do enjoy.

I’m in Nexus II right now... on my laptop.... :D Sooo, the internet signal is still strong here. That’s awesome.

I just found Harvey - my roomba vacuum - and I figured I’d plug him in and let him charge for a while and see if I can't vacuum the rooms that are clear.... basicly, just the office -..- Of course, every time I come over here, I try to bring over some stuff from the house and get it set up properly. Since all that's set up is my DVD cabinet and book shelves, that means I usually end up bringing stuff like that....

I really need to unpack the stuff in the guest bedroom.... but Mom's got a headache and I'm somewhat reluctant to leave her over there for too long unattended....not that it stops me from getting distracted, obviously -..- Anyway! I was just gonna drop some stuff off and put it in it's place and see if Harvey was up to vacuuming the office...

I have sort of worked out a system for my bookshelves... I mean, there are so many missing DVDs that I just can't find, that there's no point to obsess over that (just yet), but most all of my books are here... so the tall shelf nearest the window is all reference books and binders/notebooks and paper. The middle shelves are really all for smaller books... which, I have a lot of. I was surprised really, but evidently I'd forgotten about the amount of Manga I have o..o' The tall shelf on the opposite side is for every other type of book.... I have 8 D&D books O..O I hadn't realized till now. But I have 12 EQ rpg books and 7 Star Wars "Ultimate Guide to" books... yeah. I'm not obsessed >..> I'm just thorough :D

Ok, Enough dillusions. Tonight... I'm going to see Alicia. I think we're meeting at Quizno's but only because they have food... and wifi :) I have no idea how I'm going to occupy my time... but I'm sure there will be writing involved. Harvey still hasn't fully charged, but I can't really blame him.... he's been shut off since late November of last year :-\

Anyway, that's my status update so far. I'll type later, Sunshines :)

Volunteer Work

msmoon: (Slayers - Bawl)

Compared to the last two days, today has been pretty busy. Woke up early and got dressed and ready. Mom and I went to town and I stopped at various places, handing out my resume. I also went to two staffing agencies, and I have an interview for a receptionist at a local insurance place this Friday at 11:30 (wish me luck :3)

After going to the hospital, the doctor’s office, the college (which, doesn’t accept resumes unless they have a position opened >..> lame), and the two staffing agencies, we were hungry and tired. So, we headed to McDonalds and then went home. We ate and watched HGTV (I love Color Splash and Deserving Design), and then we went outside and sat in the swing. We even swung on the new swing, but the board isn’t really wide enough and...alas, I am out of shape. But I would swing for a few minutes, and my syatic nerve would start to act up, so I’d go around the yard taking pictures, and then I’d feel ok again and I’d get back on and swing again :)

The reason I’m taking so many pictures is because everything is blooming! Our bradford pear tree is full of white blossoms, we’ve been having yellow daffodils everywhere that’re just so pretty, now there are two bushes behind our house that are full of yellow blossoms and the cherry blossom tree (the one that split in three from the ice storm?) has white blossoms all over it ^..^ It’s so cool.

Of course, Mom got a call from one of my Aunts....I think Aunt Audrey. They found my Uncle Wilford in his bed today, dead. Mom was a little shaken, because she said she’d just seen him at Richard’s funeral and he’d looked fine. She even said that she went out of her way to hug him... of course, Mom’s now really on the ball about the family reunion thing. She says that it’s a shame that the only time they all get together is when there’s a funeral, and she really wants to have a happy occasion to get together before they loose another one o..o

I have no idea how, but somehow, I got volunteered for helping to organise this monster >..> I can’t say that I really mind, because I know Mom doesn’t really know a lot about these sorts of things - and, I’m not saying that I’m so great at it, but still, I have gone to conventions before, so at least I have an idea of what could/should be done. For one, we’re working on getting a head count of who all wants to go, that way we’ll be able to get a pricing list (this place is going to coast $800 for the 2 nights we’re staying, so it cannot be free =..=). After the head count, we’ll figure out who intends to show up and when...I can’t see charging full price to someone who plans on only being there one night/day, and if people bring campers and don’t actually stay on, what’s the point in charging them, right? Also, I want to get as many e-mail addresses as I can, and actually start a news letter from an official e-mail (not one of my own) with updates and suggestions and all that jazz. I told Mom that for the evenings we can all just eat supper together and talk and enjoy one another’s company, but for the days, we’ll need to think of activities and stuff to do >..> I’m not the best person for that. I also told Mom that I’d like to get pictures of her siblings that have passed away, perhaps both past and present photos, and blend those pictures together and put their names on the photo and frame it nicely....it just would be a nice reminder of those who couldn’t make the reunion...I asked Aunt Lane about that, since I know she has a lot of pictures of everyone with her genealogy project. I have little doubt that during the reunion, I will have my camcorder out as well :)

Aaaand I’ve got church tonight. I’ll be asking Alicia if she plans on going to Wal-Mart this Friday at 11ish. In case everyone has been living in a hole for a while... Twilight comes out this Saturday. Now, I have it on good authority (both Scamp, who’s sister works at a Wal-Mart, and from calling the local Wal-Mart) that at midnight on the 20/21 they will be pulling out the Twilight DVDs at Wal-Mart. Not only that, every Wal-Mart should be having a fairly large Twilight parafinelia section with clothes and accessories....I called the local Wal-Mart to make sure I wasn’t just showing up for nothing this Friday night/Saturday morning, and the dude in electronics said that they’ll be stocking the DVD’s at Midnight on Friday/Saturday, and he’s not certain what’s going on, but in another department behind the jewelry section, they’re setting something up >..> Sounds worth investigating at least. I even called Jennifer (a local family friend who I found out is a Twi-Teen) to see if maybe she and her sister and mom would like to come with us to Wal-Mart and hang out and see what there was to see....but they’re going out of town tomorrow so...yeah. Make no mistake, I fully intend to buy my copy of Twilight from Target. The
Twilight-Target deal is a much better one if I’m asked (and it’s my journal, so I’ll pretend that I was). A 3-disc deal for $17.99? Hello! I am so all over that....but the hard-core fan girl in me(who squees randomly at SpunkRansom’s golden eyes) demands that I show up if only to see what there will be to see.

/sigh. I guess that’s all...I don’t have anything else to add, and it’s about time I started getting ready for church. It’s been so nice out today...I’m glad we got some outside time :) I’ll talk later. See ya, Sunshines

I sent off a resume for this reception job about a month ago, and it was at a paediatrics office. They were nice enough to call me and tell me that they’d already hired someone. But the doctor asked if they could keep my resume on file for later. I got a call this afternoon from them, and I have an interview for tomorrow at 10 a.m. O..O Wowzers! I mean, I feel like I didn’t even try for the position the first time around...it’s such a blessing to get asked for an interview. Of course....interviews don’t really mean much...I’m the first to tell you that much. Still, it is encouraging.

I was also happy to hear that Supernatural has been picked up for it’s fifth season! ....of course, that only means I need a job that much more...otherwise, I won’t be able to afford season 4 or 5 when they finally come to DVD ;) As is, I feel I’m sorta behind on my fandoms in a way..../stares longingly at S3 Bones Box Set. Not that I’ll be buying much of anything fun even for my first few pay checks. I’ll need to start saving immeadately....otherwise, I won’t have much of a savings to speak of -..-

In superficial news, True Beauty finally skipped off into the sunset. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed ridiculing these so called ‘Beautiful People’ almost all season long...And, I did really love Billy (which, surprises me, since I don’t usually go for blonds), but...I don’t think I could’ve taken another week of Joel’s conceited attitude >..> Not Joel McHale, of course! But the dude on there named Joel who was a conceited jerk. No, Joel McHale is my McDreamy :D Aaaaand I hope he makes fun of the ‘Douchbag’ meeting just like he did last week :) Anyway. I liked Billy and Julia was pretty ok too (considering), but they had gotten...awfully smarmy (which fit in well with the judges I suppose). Also, can I say that the thing at the end with the chocolates was hilarious? It was! OK, so the gimmick to this thing is that these gorgeous people are competing against each other to be the most beautiful person in America; but, what they don’t know is the judges are also judging them on inner beauty and spying on their every move with hidden cameras all over the house. Well, at the end, they received a tray of chocolates with a card saying “Here’s a chance for you to see through our eyes - Your judges.” and they were staring at the chocolates like it was a puzzle, all the while not realizing that on the back of the card was the answer “Go Down Stairs” XD!!!! Hilarious! It was edited but it looked like it took them five minutes just to flip the stupid card over!

....Reiko’s birthday is coming soon. She’s gonna be 21....God, but it makes me feel old. I need to call her and ask which address she’ll be at. Otherwise, it’ll be hard for me to know where to send her present. It still bugs me that I didn’t get Celeste’s address...not that it excuses me from not sending her a card. Mom and I had found a local Hallmark store, and they have a ton of those great musical cards, and I was going to send her one of those but....well, Mom and I kept getting sick and forgetting. I should’ve looked her up on white pages.com or something. It’s no excuse =..= I’m usually on the ball with birthdays...dang moving anyway.

Oh, and I finally put my Twilight fic up on [livejournal.com profile] juli_bear . I private posted it ages ago, and I finally got around to proof-reading and publicly posting it. I swear, I need to get my butt in gear. Having moved or not, I was supposed to have that LJ as my Fan Fic/Group area, and I’ve only posted the first chapter of one fic so far! ...I guess I’m slugging because really Twilight is one of the few fics I’m working on currently. Every other fic has gone stale =..= But! The first chapter of my new Broken Wing is now available, and I’ve posted it to [livejournal.com profile] twilight_book as well :) I really hope having it posted with my LJ as well as having a community aware of it will help motivate me.

....I can’t think of anything else....I guess that means it’s time for me to shut up and distract myself elsewhere :) Talk later, Sunshines!

The area we live in right now is under an ice-storm warning. Local officials have shut down pretty much everything for the day (schools, nonessential businesses, etc.), and warned everyone to be prepared. They’re expecting anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 inches of ice to fall, and that could mean downed power lines. Mom and I have gotten pretty much everything we could possibly need for this occasion. We have plenty of water and food and wood for the fire. We’ve charged up our cell phones as well, and cleaned and then filled my bath tub with water (just in case). Over all, we’re pretty set to hunker down and wait till Wednesday or Thursday...whenever the weather decides to brighten up a bit :)

In other news, this morning while we were watching the Food Network, a show came on that I’d never seen before in my life. But it was a show called Giada at Home and the only reason I kept watching it was because they showed some sort of sushi roll and someone in the back was saying “Doesn’t that look good?” Or something like that. And Mom was like, “Oh look, she’s gonna show you how to make sushi.” and so...you know, I taped it (naturally). But the sushi she was making...well, it just didn’t thrill me. So, I did what I always do, turn to my dear friend Google. From my search I found 2 web sites:
Sushi Recipes and Sushi Links. From the Sushi Links place, I found the Sushi Magic Kit which looks fantastically awesome (it’s also awesomely fantastic :D), and that is now the top priority on my Amazon.com Asian Theme Wish List. Among the myriad of books in my Book Wish List, the one at the top of the list is Sushi For Dummies (for obvious reasons :D). Also, if you scroll down a little, you’ll see after all the sushi books the Where’s Waldo? The Complete Collection book XD Feel free to laugh, I usually do.....my goodness but I did love those books.

Anyway...it has been a busy day. Mom didn’t sleep well, so she’s gone off to take a nap. I plan to stay in the living room for a while and hang the clothes up when they’re done...and make sure the fire does not go out. Other than that, it seems it will be a very slow, lazy day.

Last night, before I went to bed, I managed to upload a bunch of pictures to my
deviantART page. I now have 2 small galleries, one is Trees and the other is Sunset. I’m actually really happy with all of them. Sunset especially, but I did manage to get some really good shots of those trees in Bayou Blue. So, I’m happy with both.

....I really can’t think of anything else to write...Ice storm - check. Sushi obsession - check. Photos on deviant - check. Guess that’s everything. :) Later, Sunshines.

9

2008-May-14, Wednesday 11:38 am
msmoon: (MM - Genki!!)

9, much like 11, is a number I like for my own quirky reasons. But 9 turned into a foreboding number yesterday. I got home from work and changed into something more comfortable, straightened up the living room a tad (Reiko was coming over) and then headed over to my parent’s house. Dad was supposed to spray my house, so I asked him if he found a wasp nest on the back of my house. He said, “No, I didn’t find a wasp nest, I found nine!” O..O’’’ Wow. So, yeah. That explains the wasp problem I’d been having in my house. Hopefully I won’t have to worry about it….well, I’m sure I won’t since Dad said he practically hosed down the backside of my house ^..^

Reiko dropped by around 6:15 yesterday afternoon. She showed me the trailers for the soon-to-be movie Twilight, based on the book. I seem to remember the book…at least, the cover of it…I think my Twin had told me it was awesome. So I was excited to see that a movie about it is coming out. Really should get those books before the movie comes out. She also dropped off The Pearls, which she said was amazing, and she’s upset that the next book in the series doesn’t come out till November. Then we watched Tin Man, or at least the first “episode”. She thought it was awesome and she said that was something her dad would love since he was a Wizard of Oz freak. She left around 9, so I didn’t get to shower till then.

It was pills, quick shower and then BED!!! For me. I slept so hard and so good. I swear it’s the best night’s sleep I’ve had for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately…I woke up at 7 O..O I leave for work at 7:30. So, in record time, I put on coffee, got dressed, straightened my hair, ate cereal and left. Well, I guess at least I know now that I can do that if I need to =..=

Oh, yeah, something else great happened yesterday! I did a random search for Invasion American DVDs because sometimes that stuff happens and I have no idea until much later. Well, I found this place called iOffer. I found all the 13 episodes on DVD available by this amazing seller, the store's called Lion-O’s Den, so of course she rocks (...at least I think it's a she O..o). She has some really great products up there for really good prices and they’re all in great quality. So I’m stoked. Not only did I get all of Invasion America (PS: there are 7 other copies of it if someone wants to get it too!) I also got all of Daria, which I’ve only ever seen the movies out. So I’m uber happy, even if I’m completely broke. It’s ok though; I get paid Friday. Hell, I would’ve bought it even if I had a week to wait for fresh money. I haven’t seen I.A. since it aired in ’98 and I am so excited to get it.

Speaking of things that are awesome, I’d totally forgotten it but I ordered THIS PEACE OF AWESOME a while back, and I finally got it in the other day! I wore it to work even (and since it was black shirt Tuesday, it actually matched). It’s much smaller than the one that he wears in the movie, but that’s good because it is made of metal and something that big would give me a headache. It’s perfect if you ask me.

…there are a lot of links in this post. But I’ve been so sick for so long, I haven’t felt like saying much and now, I have so much to say! But now I’m running out of things to say….tonight, since I’m actually feeling better, I’ll be at church. Ohh…I really must wear my new necklace ^..^ Mom’ll love that /sarcasm. Oh well. Lunch must be eaten now. Later, Sunshines!

Harvest Moon

Nerdy Note To Self

2007-Aug-11, Saturday 11:55 pm
msmoon: (Obsessions)
Prepare for a long post with tons of links about something I must remember. You have been warned.

I really just must post about a new obsession of mine. When I went on vacation to Tennessee, Jen and I found these little figurines called Book Wyrms. I totally fell in love with them, and after a small web search, I found the Dragons of Dragonsite. I absolutely love the Book Wyrms, of course they were what drew me to the site, but I find the dragons guarding the castles charming as well.

Now my favorites happen to be Black Beauty, not just because she's gorgeous, but she reminds me of Caladi (especially her face). My love of BB is followed closely by Crouching Dragon, Hidden Tiger just because it’s too dang cute. Then there’s Lord of the Wings which I love if only because of the book it represents. Although I do wish the dragon looked a bit more like Smaug…My Friend Flicker and Tender is the Knight are extremely cute if only because of accessories. Of course I do love the standard beauties White Fang, Drakes of Wrath, and Gone with the Wind. All of them are beautiful, there are just so much detail in these that I can't help but love them.

I also noticed the other themes that they starting up…

Gaia whom I love if only because she’s so beautiful and intricate. She is gorgeous, and she’s on a map, clutching a piece of the map. It’s an obvious throw back to the Greek goddess personifying mother earth…she’s just so beautiful and the theme is carried out through the piece so well, that I really admire the artist who made it. It’s that type of OCD/Anal Retentiveness that makes the great ones great.

As for the others, well. Gronae and Eudl are part of a castle set (which I like very much), and Dostanne and Engre appear to be part of a set that simply crouch over a large circular floor. I’m not terribly attracted to that set, but they aren’t terribly bad. I guess I’m more attracted to the theme sets. Also there’s Aveum and Atel...whose only similarities appear to be that they’re looking at or holding an org. There’s also Thief, but there is no way that I’m getting that because it’s actually being and expensive.

/sighs. That’s all. I just wanted to get this all off my chest before I forgot that I really wanted to do so. Now that I have…I can sleep. Goodnight all.

Harvest Moon
msmoon: (LJ)
Well, today was fun to start off, a tad on the miserable side towards the middle, and it ended fairly well all thing’s considering. My cousins (Scamp and her older brother Josh) came over this morning (oh yeah, they brought their parents with them too), and I showed Josh Warcarft *cough*warcrack*cough*. I really should see a doctor about that cough too... ^_^ Anyway. Yeah, after showing Josh a few videos on YouTube, I let him get on and play. He made an Orc Warrior, which I must confess is a tyle of character that I never play. Evenditly he’s suited to the big, brutish tank style. Which is really great, because we DoT dealers, Mages etc. really need someone like that around to absorb a foes blows….dude that almost sounded like poetic in some weird, geeky way =) Anyway!

I finally got the Brit boy’s package(s) to Scamp for her to add to her…uh…things she’s sending them O.o And I also got to give her the Red vs. Blue tapes that I made for her….which will go to Josh whenever she moves in with me ^.^ I’m not certain how, but they also managed to make off with a good deal of my anime collection….not that I mind really. I know how funny Scamp can be about the care and condition of such things (books, anime, oh hell, anything!). Besides, no one here is watching it. That reminds me, I really need to finish watching Rune Soldier. I bought the box set and I haven’t even watched it all! I guess that’ll come after I finish Lori’s X-Files. I swear, it’s going on two weeks that I have this, and I’ve yet to get through the sixth disc! I don’t know what’s been wrong with me lately, but I guess my attention has been a bit divided.Or just not there at all O.o But, yeah…anyway. I loaned them /thinks Slayers (the first season along with Next and Try), and Fruits Basket.

Mom had made a nice, big taco soup since they’d taken the trouble to come all the way over here hauling Aunt Lane/Conni’s chair. The adults talked (and ranted) while we camped out in my room and talked (and ranted ^.^). The taco soup was really good...I think the difference is in the Fritos...I’ve eaten it before without the Frito chips and it wasn’t one of my faves. But it is very easy to make, and it is warm and tastey. After some gaming, a bit of talking, and then wishing them well as they went on their way…I came down with a serious headache. It felt like a sinus head ache, so I can only assume it’s just my allergies. Yes, Spring has definatley sprung. I can feel it in my nose =_=

Other than watching a bit of X Files and laying around, I did nothing but feel the effects of the sinus/allergy medicine. Then mom poked her head in and asked if there were any other epsidoes of Bones that we could watch…and considering we’d only gotten the first disc watched, I said there was quite a few. So we got through the second disc today ^.^ And the evening ended really well.

I must say though...I’m afraid that I’m becoming a little obsessed with spending money on Amazon…or anywhere else really. Sure, I don’t do it when I don’t actually have money...but think about it. Friday, once I’d gotten paid and found out how much I made, I went to Amazon and bought The X-Men Trilogy (because even though I dispised the last one I still love the X-men), Robotech - The Shadow Chronicles, Howl's Moving Castle, Can't Take Me Home by P!nk, Don't Fear the Reaper: The Best of Blue Öyster Cult, and Numb/Encore by Linkin Park & Jay-Z (because Amazon stopped selling it or something)…it was like…I really just couldn’t help myself. I had done the math and figured what I’d have left over after tithes, savings and bills and then said “Yeah, I’ve got plenty left over.” So I spent some. /nod nod nod. I really should focus on not doing that for a very long time…

Other than that purchase…and my lingering headach…everything’s pretty ok. Oh yeah. There is that one thing…Mom and I were trying to move that chair that Scamp and Co. brought…and Mom tried to move it too soon and the wrong way and…well…right onto my right big toe. Yeah, the nail kind of cracked down the center to about half way down the length of the nail...and the edge around the nail has turned a different color. Trying to file that nail evenly was terrible. But! Other than that and my headache, I’m doing ok. And now, I’m really tired…so I’m gonna go ahead and close out now that I’ve written here and to Scamp. See you later, sunshines!

My God, where have the last two days gone? There were right there…right there in front of me, I swear. >.>….oh well.

Most of my time has spent working or recovering from work, but what little time I have been online, I’ve been trying to read as many LJ Idol posts as I can from other contestants. Just to mingle and get acquainted and see who’s who and find out who I’m gonna vote for. Can I just make this one official statement on the record?

O_O'

Yah..That pretty much sums it all up. It’s a lot of “Ok, this person is gonna be ‘so-and-so’” and “OMG, that is too funny!” and “Ok…I need to comment with something that shows my opinion of this person and shows my personality while doing it……….what is my opinion of this person? And which personality am I going with today? O.o” not to mention “Holy Quadrupeds! That’s the coolest icon I’ve ever seen!” and other such stuff. It’s mind-boggling. Waaaaaay too deep for my shallow mind =___=! …Not really. Wouldn’t be so bad if I weren’t sore and tired from work. Everyone seems really fun and cool though. /shrugs. time will tell I suppose. Ultimately I joined because I thought it’d be a lot of fun to see other peoples’ posts and hear an opinion of mine.

Oh, in other news: I went from having 68 LJ Friends (aka ‘so called friends’) to having 30. My Friends page was getting awfully cluttered and I was somehow missing a lot of things in the shuffle. Then I wandered over to my profile page and realized that out of the 68 friends that I have only 30 were mutual. Of course that made me wonder how I’d managed to add 68 people to my friends list anyway…I know I used to wonder around a lot and notice people who seemed cool and had similar interests as me…And I was always afraid I’d forget that person, so I’d add them to my FL just to make sure I didn’t…but I guess they did some house cleaning and were like “Who was this girl again? Oh yeah…I don’t really know her and she never comments.” So I bookmarked them all in the LJ – Unforgettable folder if only because I really don’t want to forget these people! They’re awesomeness...they just evidently don’t have me on their friends list anymore. So, no more adding people to the friends list only because I don’t want to forget them; that’s what book marking is for ne? Even with the whole LJ Friend Clean Up thing…popfiend still dominates the list…amusing. ^.^

Ohhhh, what else, what else, what else, what else, what else?....Hmm. been talking with Scamp a lot. We finally got our old tradition of long e-mails back up again. We discussed a lot about the Nexus. Our house is gonna rock one way or the other, I just wanna make sure it’s as fun to be in as it is to behold. I’ve decided to put off the whole CD thing, if only because I wanna move in a whole lot more than I want that CD =.= Priorities right? So, I can save up for a CD later...no biggie. Considering the amount of money that I make and that I wanna have a good bit tucked away in savings before we really break ground, I think late November / early December would be a great time to move in. I know I’ve overwhelmed my Dad with all my ideas for everything (replace the floors with hardwood, till up all the ground so it’s level; oh heck, I think I lost him after just those two actually). Mom said he was saying something like, “I can’t do all of that!” He forgets that I intend to pay for it all. Speaking of Dad, I think I’ll write him an e-mail while he’s on the rig.

I’m guessing that’s about all. If whatever else I’d wanted to write about hasn’t surfaced, it ain’t gonna. So, I’ll catch ya’ll later (more than likely tomorrow around lunch time -.-). G’night.

PS: Also, I’ve been thinking of changing the ‘gill’ tag to ‘scamp’ since if you were just coming and reading this, you might wonder who Scamp is, but there’s no Scamp tag, even though Scamp is Gill…but you might not know that…/reads all that over and nods. Right. That. I mean, there’s a ‘scamp art’ and a scamp comics’ tag, might as well make an official ‘scamp’ tag. Makes sense.../nod nod nod.

msmoon: (Weird Al - ROTFLOL)
For those of you who know me...guess what? I decided to join LJ Idol season 3 over at [livejournal.com profile] therealljidol. /nod nod nod. It was kinda sporadic and totally on impulse, but I figured “why not? I post anyway!”. So if you do know me, you can skip over this post without gaining my fury (yes, my fury which is contained to this adorable little annoyed face ¬.¬). But if you’re in the mood for a giggle, and you don’t mind going over things you already know; by all means, continue reading.

Now, to you newcomers, hello and welcome. After much agonizing over the first entry, I decided to give a brief description of myself (what everyone who thinks they know me knows) and then follow up with something perhaps more my style (probably random and inane). I shall now commence telling you a bit about myself.

The Basics. My name is Tracie Marie. Everyone at work, college and church knows(or knew) me as just Tracie. I later gained the nickname MsMoon after waaaay too much Sailor Moon. I was born and raised and now live and work in southern Louisiana. In fact, I live about 40 minutes south of New Orleans. I was raised by my wonderful parents with the occasional presence of my older brother. My dad is now 65 years old (soon to be 66). He’s worked over 30 years on off-shore drilling rigs. Mom is 56 (they’re 9 years and a few months apart) and a home maker (behold my heroes). My brother just turned 37 on the 19th. My brother and I are 13 years apart. I am 23. I was a daydreamer as a child and I still am today. I love to write, but sometimes it’s better to read (it’s more relaxing, and I don’t have to do all the thinking). I occasionally play World of Warcraft (though not as seriously as some) and Katamari Damacy on PS2. I went to college for a little over 2 years and emerged with my Associates Degree in Office Systems Techonology. I now work in town as a Clerk. It’s been the best job I’ve had yet, if only because my coworkers and I get along so well. I use this journal to try and keep track of old friends (and new ones) while updating anyone who cares for half a second on how my life is going. I also throw in facts that interest me every now and then.

That’s enough of that for now. I think I’ll go ahead with the other half of this entry.……..I’ve no idea what to write. /looks around.

You know, I love Weird Al. I have four of his CDs, and I’m slowly working on getting all the others that came before. Seriously, ya’ll. If you had said 20 years ago that Michael Jackson would be next to nonexistent in the public eye, but Weird Al would still be going strong, somebody would’a called the men in those white coats to come and cart you off. If he can survive this long, there must be something to him, right? So why is it, I get funny looks when I say he’s one of my favorites? At work, a lot of the girls look at me funny whenever I mention him. I mean, there are worse things out there…I’m sure we can all attest to that (and my coworkers who have kids agree with this whole-heartedly!). Oh, sure he may not be the charmer that Orlando Bloom is (who had me at 'Mae govannen'), and he’s not as ripped as Vin Diesel (who I’ve loved ever since Riddick), but you know what? He makes me laugh (and sometimes he has an interesting perspective about things O.o). As far as I’m concerned, I can’t laugh enough. The world is very depressing, and there are things out there that will just rob you of your joy at any second. So why not laugh while you can? So you know what? I can live with lanky and pale and long curly hair...Chicks dig scrawny pale guys right? (I’m sure some do). Honestly, I’ve always based attraction on more of a personal level...I never have found myself attracted to guys that were just "hot". In fact, the one guy that I constantly got hung up on all the time when I was a lot younger was short and partially bald and didn’t have the best of bodies...but you know, he didn’t seem too bothered that I was overweight and ugly. And he really made me laugh. But that probably has a lot to do with the fact that I think I’m physically unattractive, but I still think I’m a beautiful person, so my perception of what is attractive had to change...Deep huh? And to think I started off with Weird Al! Man...I think I just remembered why I like to just let myself ramble so much o_o

All right...it’s 9ish, and tomorrow I start my first day of working 8 – 5. I’ve been working 10 – 5 for a very long time now, and I’ve gotten used to sleeping in till 7. But tomorrow I wake up bright and early at 5:30. Ah well. It’s all gonna be worth it once I can afford to own the Nexus. (I’ll just leave that at that and let those of you who’re new wonder what the heck the Nexus is. God knows I’ve ranted and raved about it enough in the past couple’a weeks =___=). So yeah. Thanks for reading and I hope I didn’t loose you though all that insanity. But that’s all for this entry. Tootles!

To those of you newbies who don’t know, I always post a quiz result at the end of every entry just for the heck of it. I enjoy taking the quizes, and it’s something visual to break up all this text. I don’t see any reason not to include that in my LJ Idol entries. So there ya have it. Peace out.

Moving on Over

2007-Jan-08, Monday 10:08 am
msmoon: (Kitty - Coffee)
I must say, I am just so fit to be tied with being bored without the computer. The weather has been splendid ‘stay at home’ weather, and all the movies I have, I’ve already watched a billion times, and I can’t exactly afford to go out and buy more. There are two things that I’m looking forward to this week; getting AMOS back (preferably fixed), and Friday (payday!).

I’ve already paid all my bills, so I’m hoping to have a bit of spending money for movies and such.... I’m not sure. If I make the usual $300+ then $100 will automatically go into Savings, leaving me $200+. You know me with my money plans; if I don’t have a plan for my money, I’ll end up spending it all. I definitely want to get V for Vendetta, the four disc box set of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Lady and the Tramp because Disney has made it clear they’re pulling the last two back into the vault at the end of the month (and I’m buying V ‘cause it rocks my soxs). I already bought the special edition of Bambi the other day at Sam’s. I checked there for the other movies while I was there, but it’s cheaper at Amazon.com if you can believe that. So, as soon as payday rolls around I’ll make another Amazon purchase. But I was thinking of buying other things...maybe something other than movies >.>... Because we all known I need to increase my DVD collection...<.< Not sure. We shall see (I’m open for suggestions ^_^).

I finally got the chance to talk to Scamp Saturday. We musta been on the phone for about two and a half hours. It was fun just to talk and catch up. Without the computer and being able to post and send e-mails at any time, it feels like we haven’t been communicating properly. She said she would be writing me back soon and enclosing Lacey and Jade’s portraits to add to my Scamp Art© binder ^.^ That’s always really cool to hear.

I said earlier that there were some things I’d been stewing about lately. Well, after getting along so great with me and my parents, Dad and Mom brought up the option of Scamp moving in over here. Then they said it might be better for us to move into the A-frame house and live there. The rent would be reduced to $100 a month instead of the usual $400, but it still wouldn’t be a free ride. Of course, if we could both have jobs and such at the time, it’d be a very nice living. When I called, I talked about the A-frame with her, and she said even if it would be small, it’d still be nice. We already talked about how we want to decorate it. The bathroom/washroom would have the mermaid paintings and such from Pyramid Collection. The kitchen would have a dragon décor, beings as the kitchen represents fire and all. The living room would have the lotus decorations, because lotus is more soothing and peaceful and we see the living room as a room where you go for conversation or TV watching and such and you want that to be peaceful. My room, I want the fairies from Pyramid, just because Pyramid’s fairies look better than most. Scamp said she might save big time and decorate her room with swords and such from the Lord of the Rings section on the Nobles Collection. The only thing I’m not sure about is all the eastern art and décor I have in my room right now. I kinda don’t want to get rid of that, but I’m not sure if it’ll go anywhere in the house...we’ll see. It might-could fit in the lotus living room. The next thing I worried about was furniture. I can keep my bed of course. But chairs and such for the living room might be a problem. But I told Mom that, and she assured me that between garage sales and local thrift stores it shouldn’t be too hard to find some cheap furniture. All I really want for the living room is a few chairs and end tables next to those chairs. No coffee table...we’re both a bit klutzy and there’s very little room, so I can’t see having a coffee table. The only other issue would be the computer issue. I mean, we might-could fit a little computer desk in the nook behind the stairs where my closet would be...but after thinking about it, I thought it might be easier if we got Scamp a laptop (at some point), and then put my computer upstairs with me in my room, and got a wireless router that would transmit internet wirelessly to her lap top and she could use that anytime in her room and not be limited and have to either come up to my room (which would kill her, because those stairs are very verry steep), or go to the living room. Ideally...it might just be better if we both had laptops, if only because it’d save a whole lotta space =____=’ Chibi had a very nice Mac LapTop...I might-could start looking at prices now...But now I’m just over thinking everything. But, hell! It’ll be my first time living on my own...I think I’m entitled to over-react if I wanna.

Oh! I almost forgot! Scamp told me that Sev had wanted her to dress up as a peep for Halloween. And I was like “Oh! That’d be so cool if you modernized it! Like, get a sequin, sparkly, slinky dress in purple, and have a peep-chick head as a hat! Oh!! And then I could get a blue sequin, sparkly, slinky dress, and have a peep-bunny head on top!! And we’d be themed!!! That’d be so cute!” and she’s like, “Stop taking his side! You traitor!” I still think it’d be very cute...I can’t help it. I love peeps -.-

I suppose that’ll be all for now...the weather’s making it really hard to stay awake, much less concentrate on typing. I might try to write a bit again later if I can. Ja.

No Bones About It

msmoon: (CSI)
I would like to take a second to express my unfathomable joy that they are finally releasing the first season of Bones on DVD. It’s odd, but I find that I actually enjoy Bones more than I do CSI; and we all know how much I love CSI. I have added the first season box set to my wish list, and I cannot wait until I have the resources available to buy it. That definitely has to go on the list of things Chibi must see. It’s too smart and fun and cool not to.

…That’s all.

Writing in Advance

2006-Dec-05, Tuesday 10:31 am
msmoon: (MMEQ - Idlewild BP)
Ok, so, living without the internet is a bore and a pain. I thought it’d be pure agony, but in truth, I’ve ordered everything that I’m gonna order online, so there’s no need for me to really worry over that. Everything’s been paid. Everything’s in the mail. However finding things to do is becoming quite tedious.

Yesterday, after hastily posting that last entry, I did managed to glance at my friends page. Unfortunately, it was almost time to go, and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to do a thorough reading as much as I would enjoy it. In what little time I had left, I did manage to copy and print out the last entries of [profile] wotcherscamp and [personal profile] rattgirl . I didn’t get the chance to read it till later that night, but it made me feel more connected...even though I’m not -_-

I finally got my PS2 in yesterday afternoon. I was surprised at how very small and lightweight it is. So, I glanced at the instruction manual and thought I had a general idea of how to hook it up. I set it on the shelf that holds my VCR and proceeded to try and move the TV so that I could see the ports in the back...The shelf that my loving father put up for my TV, is scrawny and weak. It’s bowing in the center (where the TV is), and it moves with every little nudge I give the TV! Of course this has me frightened that it’ll fall or break the shelf in two if I try to fool with it. All that boils down to that I do have my PS2...but I’ve no real way of playing it as I can’t figure out how to install it without moving the TV. There were some of those Audio/Video ports in the front of the TV, but I tried to plug it into those and still, it didn’t work -_- I am defeated. I’ve decided to ask my Dad to make another shelf. One more sturdy that doesn’t look like it’s about to break. Of course, he’s two weeks from coming in, so I’ll just have to do without till he does come in. I might try hooking it up to the TV in the living room, if only to experiment and see if I actually know which cables to hook up to which ports O.o It’s been ages since I had a gaming system, and I’ve forgotten how to hook them up.

I also received the other package yesterday and though I did have a rather large sulk-fit at not being able to install the PS2 properly, I consoled myself with Pride and Prejudice, which was almost better than the first go-around. I find I’m more enamored with it now than I was when I first watched it, if that makes any sense at all. Some things just keep getting better as they go. I also skimmed through Races of Destiny, my new D&D supplement book. It’s very interesting and I find the only problem I have with it is that there just isn’t enough put into it ^_^ I also received The Mists of Avalon on DVD, which is actually a gamble that I took. I’ve never seen this movie, but I have wanted to for a very long time. I’ve yet to watch it, but I think I’ll try doing that tonight if I get the chance. Has anyone else seen this, and if so what were your opinions of the movie (and/or the book if you like)?

I didn’t get to sleep till around 1 last night and for two specific reason. One being that I had told Mom I would wash the permanent press, and had nearly forgotten it. I knew I couldn’t just wash it and get away with that so I waited till the washer was done, and then left the clothes in the dryer. Of course Mom didn’t really like that very much beings as she’s never satisfied with dried clothes unless they are immediately hung after they’ve finished drying =_= The second reason for my being up so late would be that I had printed out a list of Magic and the spells these different magics use, and then I had gone through it and edited it more to my liking (added and revising and such). As I had no internet coupled with plenty of time and a reason for staying up longer than I would (the clothes in the washer), I decided to go through the old document which was on this jump drive, and change the format to what I came up with on the edited paper. I am happy to report that the result looks much more organized and unified, even though there isn’t nearly enough on it. I was thinking of posting the table that I’d made in

[profile] ruby_unicorn , but I don’t know how much of a headache that’ll be what with it being in a huge table and all. The table is formatted in Word and it would probably be a great big pain to try formatting it in html. In fact, I confess that I’ve no earthly notion how to make a table in scratch html. Before long, I’ll be going through D&D and EQ RPG books to look at what types of spells they have there. Looking at their spells always helps me to think of something.

That’s all for now. I’ll see if I can check in later in the day. Ja!

Gaahhhhh! I swear this computer is totally pissing me off! It’s super slow, and it won’t let me just switch between windows like it used to. I usually have my journal up, another web page up, my e-mail, and then my folder that has all my junk in it, and it takes forever to switch between the two and it never just switches, it freezes momentarily then allows me to function in the window for a minute before freezing again. And when I click on links, it goes even slower. Man!

/sigh. OK. Moving on. A lot has happened...Or, perhaps I should say that a lot happened yesterday. It was a long day. We got up and went to church as usual, then we went out to eat afterwards. We went home and changed into comfortable clothes, and Mom and I hit the road. We headed over to Lafayette to give my cousin, scamp, her birthday gifts. She got the entire Lord of The Rings Trilogy Extended edition DVDs and a 1GB jump drive that I’m sure she’ll put to good use...We talked for a while, and I showed her my FaceBook. She says she’s gonna get on when she’s 18 since that’s the requirement and she’s turning 18 in ...well, it was 2 days, but now it’s tomorrow -.- But Mom said we had to start home because it’s about a 2 hour trip depending on traffic and weather. So, we started back and we got back around 4:30.

I immediately took a shower. It helps me to relax, and I do get a bit claustrophobic in cars so I needed it. After that, I put some incense on and checked Amazon.com. I figured ‘what the heck’ and bought a PS2 with the Katamari Damacy game. I figured, the price is relatively low at this point, and I do have money in the bank not to mention that payday is this Friday; so, it’s not like I’m overdrawing or being irresponsible. I’m fairly excited about it. Dad says that he’ll take out the shelf that my VCR is on and extend it so that I can put both the VCR and the PS2 up there. I just home the cord on the controls is long enough to be comfortable at the foot of the bed...we’ll figure something out.

Well, I’d better get off of here before I panic and think I’m gonna make myself late. Stupid computer, running slow. Oh well, tootles!

Holy cow...I haven’t been this sore in a long time (or if I was, I don’t remember it). Last night, we did nothing but laugh for about..*thinks* 4 hours...Reiko didn’t get there till about an hour after I did though. I got there at 5:20 ish. My throat is sore too from all the crazy laughing and the cool night air. Thank God for warm tea.

But enough about me feeling like petrified crap. Today Mom woke me at 10 to go to town. I needed to drop Reiko’s birthday present to me in the bank so I could buy something. Then we stopped at Target to see if they had any more of the art that I was hoping for but no luck there. We did find a DVD rack that was selling their DVDs for $3.98 or something like that. I got Fun with Dick & Jane, Memoirs of a Geisha, The March of the Penguins, Spiderman 2, and UltraViolet. Not a bad haul considering it was all $22 something. And that was just Target. When I got home, I ordered Races of Destiny (Dungeons & Dragons Supplement), Field of Dreams, The Pacifier, The Mists of Avalon, Pride & Prejudice, and Smokey and the Bandit Pursuit Pack. So my DVD collection just increased significantly. Probably shoulda asked around about The Mists of Avalon since I never did see it...But I figured it was only $9 so it couldn’t hurt.

I am so sore...I’m gonna go finish my black-berry tea and watch another movie.

Rocks in my Head

I should be off this box, but alas! I am not. I got my Moon Crescent Pendant in the mail with some coupons for $10 off the vendor’s store...Then I read it again and noticed the ‘earn your wiccan degrees online’ part and that kinda fizzled. I did glance at it, and it’s got some seriously cool stuff on it. It’s called Sacred Mists, which is really dramatic but uber cool. I can find all their jewelry on Amazon, so I’d pretty much decided not to use the coupon. Then I saw the Crystals & Gemstones section and nearly came unglued. Those of you that know me well know why I’m such an avid rock/gem collector and why I’m almost obsessive about the hobby. So this site’s now officially become invaluable to me if only for that reason. Mom and Dad wont be thrilled that I'm buying these things from a wiccan site...but wiccans gotta eat too na no da ^.^  It made me want to search for books on gems again though =.= Honestly. I’ve got two huge ones already.

However, I’ve no real intention of using this coupon. So I’ve decided to make this post detailing the whole thing if only for the benefit of whatever wiccan friends I may actually have here on LJ. If anyone wants to take advantage of the coupon I’ve gotten, by all means comment. I’ll hand it on over and at least someone will be able to use it. I hate letting things go to waste.

In other nerdyer news, I also received the 3rd and 4th seasons of Batman The Animated Adventures. Coolness to me. I can’t wait to watch them all, and since I’ve been feeling under the weather all damn week, it will be a nice diversion.

OK!...I’m off to eat something and conk out. Tootles!

Boy did I ever open up a can of worms the other day. Mom and I were at Books A Million, just casually strolling around, when we saw a section devoted to the National Audubon Society...Now, most of you will not understand the significance of this find. I for one did not know that the Audubon Society (maythestarsevershineuponthem) had made other guides, though it stands to reason why they would. Many years ago, Chibi’s mom, my former tutor, gave me a copy of The National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Rocks and Minerals when she noticed my interest in the different rocks and minerals (and the book itself of course). That book became an invaluable source when creating my world and is still used as a reference to this day. The book was so complete in its information that I really had no need for any other books about the subject (even though I still like collecting them). Learning that there are other books of this caliber on other subjects that interest me (especially, but not limited to, the books on Weather, The Night Sky, Trees both East & West, and Mushrooms.) has of course increased my Guides Wish List extremely. This is partially due to the fact that Books-A-Million had a big price tag on their copies..and partially because I believe you can find almost anything on Amazon and perhaps even get it cheaper than anywhere else ^.^

Other than this...I have nothing left to say. Well, there’s plenty to say, but at the moment, I’m too tired to do so. So...goodnight.

Wow...the last few days, man. They’ve been a bit odd. Not too long after my post Tuesday, I got this terrible migraine and had to go home. I got there and Aunt Lane’s dog, Pocco, was in his kennel so I took him out first so that he wouldn’t have any accidents in the house. Then I took a quick shower, and by that time Mom and Aunt Lane were back home. Mom gave me two pills for my migraine, and I took both o them. Afterwards she says, “You didn’t take both of those did you?” and I was like “yeah…” and she says “You were only supposed to take one and take the other 8 hours later!!” so, she and Aunt Lane kept watching me like they expected me to plop over all ‘timber’ like any second, but my constitution doesn’t get sedated easily na no da. Other than not being able to move suddenly or walk a straight line, I was fine. Talk about knock the headache out too.

The next day (yesterday), I had my OBGYN appointment at 9. Luckily for me, they’re prompt and efficient along with being friendly too. I got a 3 month sample of my birth control pills and a prescription for when those are over with. When I got to work, they asked how it went and what I’d gone for because all I’d told them was I had a doctor’s appointment. I said, “I took off my Wonder Woman underoos, put on my big-girl drawers, and went to my OBGYN.” We all laughed at that.

Yesterday we got about 16 charts in the mail and the day before that we had 13…..my estimate for today? Close to 200. They’ve been doing that the past week or so. Earlier in the week, or mid-week, there aren’t that many charts coming in, but Thursday and Friday suck! It doesn’t bother me too much, because it means that I have plenty to do from the moment I sit down till it’s time to go. Like, yesterday was tough for me at first because I’d finished all my work and there was very little to do. Lacey had done all the copying and our shredder died on us (rest it’s poor little mechanical soul) so I was like “I need something to do.” Luckily there’s always something to do, even if it doesn’t fall under my job criteria. So when Nicole left, she handed me the 800+ invoices that she’d been saving up that were supposed to go in folders in one of her drawers and asked me to put them in order. The folders that she has are categorized by the name of the companies and she prefers to have the most recent towards the back. So I worked on that after she left at 2. I was happy to say that I got all the way up to the company Foundation Coal done.

I don’t know why, by my mouth has been really soar lately...like the inside, all around my lips. It aches and itches and when I eat, it feels like sandpaper rubbing against my mouth. It’s really bad. And this morning, I noticed that my eyes were itching too…I hope it’s nothing. But I’m gonna ask the nurses this morning when I go in what they think of it. Lori worked in ICU for a long time and she’s seen a lot, so she’s got a wealth of knowledge when dealing with things like that. Either way, I’m glad I have my benedryl handy in case the itching should get too bad. Of course, that’ll put me in a proverbial coma, but at least I won’t be itchy.

I guess that’s all for now. Hope everyone else is having a better week than me =.=

Harvest Moon

PS: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Last night I impulsively bouth the 3rd and 4th seasons of Batman the Animated Adventures. I really just wanted to have at least one complete fandom in my DVD collection, and that was not only cheap but easy to get. So yay for me and my Nerd Card. On the flip side, I won't be buying anything (for myself) for a very long time.

Whoa, disappearing act once more. I’ve been kinda feeling restless and useless if only because I feel like I’ve gotten into a rut with my writing and everything. I even joined up on NaNoWriMo in hopes that it’d spur me into action. But I still haven’t felt all that excited about writing. But last night I had a mini-breakthrough. I turned my computer off around 9 and took my sleeping pills. But I knew it’d take a while. I got a small idea for the story that I’m writing for NaNoWriMo, and it made me feel kinda bad, because I’d already turned my computer off. Now, usually, I’d brood about that and just turn in. But this time, I grabbed a notebook and just started writing in bed. And I didn’t stop till I got sleepy.

When I stopped for the night, I counted and had 5½ pages of the story! I was so excited! I mean, I know that 5½ notebook pages is only about 2 typed up pages in the computer but still! I’ve written virtually nothing in the past 3 months. So this was a much-needed break through. I think I’ve decided that at or around 9, this computer will be turned off, and I’m gonna get ready for bed and grab the notebook and see if it works 2 nights in a row. It doesn’t even have to be story, it could be a character profile or description of a place; as long as the writing comes through that’s what matters. If it does work, I’ll have a writing routine established.

Normally, I’d try to type up everything on Saturday, but this Saturday, me and a few of the other ladies from ISR have to head into New Orleans for a seminar XP. I hate New Orleans. I hate having to go there for any reason. But Mrs. Ellen’s pretty much decreed that we all need this seminar for some reason or another, so we might as well just bear it, ne?

That reminds me, I have and OBGYN appointment next week =_____= Joy /sarcasm. But it’s been about a year so I suppose it’s warranted.

Well, I’m gonna go check on the rents and finish getting ready. Later!
